Raghav, Parineeti Receive Grand Welcome At Udaipur Airport

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Raghav Chadha and actor Parineeti Chopra received a grand welcome at Udaipur airport on Friday.

Several photographs and videos of the couple arriving at the Udaipur airport from Delhi have circulated on social media.

The couple was greeted with Dhols and music as they exited the airport gates. Raghav and Parineeti will tie the knot in Udaipur reportedly over this weekend.

A group performed bhangra to welcome them.

Parineeti wore a red jumpsuit with a cream shawl. She finished her look with black sunglasses. Raghav opted for a black sweater and blue denim.

Earlier, the duo hosted Sufi night for their close friends and family members. Parineeti Chopra’s cousin Priyanka gave it a miss but the actor’s mother Madhu Chopra and brother Siddharth marked their presence at the special function organised at Raghav’s residence in the national capital. Prior to the musical night, Parineeti and Raghav sought blessings at a Gurudwara in New Delhi, where they participated in Ardas and Kirtan.

The duo exchanged rings on May 13 at Kapurthala house in New Delhi in the presence of their loved ones. The star-studded ceremony was attended by several politicians including Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann, former finance minister P Chidambaram, and Shiv Sena leader Aaditya Thackeray.

Before their engagement, both Raghav and Parineeti had kept mum about their relationship. Parineeti and Raghav reportedly knew each other for several years before they began dating. The couple was recently spotted scouting for locations for weddings in Udaipur, hinting that they will follow in her cousin Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas’ footsteps and tie the knot in a lavish wedding in Rajasthan.

Reportedly, the couple will tie the knot in Rajasthan. Wedding festivities will take place on September 23 and 24, as per several reports. 

Meanwhile, on the work front, Parineeti will share screen space with Diljit Dosanjh in ‘Chamkila’. Helmed by Imtiaz Ali, the film revolves around two famous Punjabi singers Amarjot Kaur and Amar Singh Chamkila.  She also has ‘Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue’ alongwith Akshay Kumar in her kitty. Raghav, Parineeti Twin In Blue At Airport

Newly-engaged celebrity couple Parineeti Chopra and Raghav Chadha popularly known as ‘RagNeeti’ were spotted twinning in blue outfits in Mumbai on Friday.

Several pictures and videos of the couple have surfaced on social media in which they could be seen coming out of their car and walking towards the airport security check.

Parineeti looked beautiful in a long blue coat and matching pants with a white top. She paired the look with white sneakers and dark sunglasses.

Raghav, on the other hand, looked dapper in a light blue check shirt paired with black pants and brown shoes. The couple was seen waving at the paps before heading inside the airport.

AAP To Attend Opposition Meet In Bengaluru: Raghav

Following the Congress decision to oppose Centre’s ordinance related to the control of administrative services in Delhi, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Sunday announced that it will attend the second opposition party meeting that is scheduled to take place in Karnataka’s Bengaluru on July 17-18.

AAP MP Raghav Chaddha, while speaking to the media after the party’s Political Affairs Committee (PAC) meeting confirmed the same and said, “As Congress has also made its stand clear on the black ordinance, it is decided that the party under the leadership of Arvind Kejriwal will take part in the meeting of like-minded parties in Bengaluru on July 17-18.”
The AAP called a PAC meeting of the party on Sunday.

The opposition meet in Bengaluru is scheduled with the purpose of uniting the opposition to take on the Bharatiya Janata Party in the upcoming general assembly polls in 2024.

Top leaders of at least 24 political parties would attend the second Opposition unity meeting being convened by Congress in Bengaluru.

Significantly, a mega opposition meeting was held in Bihar’s Patna on June 23.

The AAP asked Congress to clear its stand on the centre’s ordinance, which was brought by the central government regarding the transfer and posting of group-A officers in Delhi.

After the first Opposition meeting, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) had said that unless the Congress publicly denounced the ordinance it would be “very difficult” for it to be a part of any coalition that includes the grand old party.

Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal on Sunday said that the party’s stand on the same is ‘very clear’ and it is going to oppose it in the parliament.

“Congress’ stand on this is very clear, we will oppose it,” Venugopal said while speaking to ANI.

The BJP-led central government brought the ordinance on the transfer and posting of bureaucrats in Delhi in May, virtually negating a Supreme Court verdict giving the elected government in Delhi the control over services matter.

The ordinance seeks to set up a National Capital Civil Service Authority for the transfer of and disciplinary proceedings against Group-A officers from the DANICS cadre.

Transfer and postings of all officers of the Delhi government were under the executive control of the lieutenant governor before the May 11 verdict of the apex court.

The AAP had been counting on the support of the Congress, which has 31 MPs in the Rajya Sabha. The BJP does not have a majority in the Upper House of Parliament.

CM Kejriwal had even held one-on-one meetings with top Opposition leaders across the country, soliciting their support on the Ordinance issue. (ANI)

Reacting to the Rahul Gandhi tweet that the Karnataka Government has fulfilled another guarantee after free bus travel for women came into effect, Aam Aadmi Party leader Raghav Chadha on Sunday said that India’s oldest party is taking notes from the country’s youngest.

Raghav Chadha said that the schemes implemented by Congress in Karnataka were first introduced by Aam Aadmi Party as ‘Kejriwal ki Guarantee’.

In this regard, Raghav Chadha took to Twitter and said, “The Kejriwal Effect. India’s oldest political party is taking notes from India’s youngest. ‘Kejriwal ki Guarantee’ was first introduced by AAP, and the scheme has now been implemented by Congress in Karnataka.”

Earlier today Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said that this step will empower the women and boost their savings.

“Free bus travel for every woman in Karnataka from today – Another guarantee fulfilled! Empowerment of women and economic savings – our responsibility, their right, Congress government will fulfil,” Rahul Gandhi tweeted.

Earlier the five ‘main’ guarantees, which Congress promised to fulfil after coming to power in Karnataka, were 200 units of free power to all households (Gruha Jyoti); Rs 2,000 monthly assistance to the woman head of every family (Gruha Lakshmi); 10 kg of rice free to every member of a BPL household (Anna Bhagya); Rs 3,000 every month for unemployed graduate youth and Rs 1,500 for unemployed diploma holders (both in the age group of 18-25) for two years (Yuva Nidhi) and free travel for women in public transport buses (Uchita Prayana).
