Shahid Reveals Why He Quit Smoking

Actor Shahid Kapoor recently appeared on the first episode of Neha Dhupia’s talk show ‘No Filter Neha Season 6’.

During a chat with the host Neha, the ‘Jab We Met’ actor opened up about why he decided to quit smoking a few years ago after the birth of his daughter Misha.

He said, “When I used to smoke, I would hide from my daughter and smoke. That is actually the reason I gave up. One day, while I was hiding and having my smoke, I told myself that I am not going to do this forever and that is actually the day I decided to quit smoking.”

Misha was born in 2016 after Shahid and Mira tied the knot in 2015. They also have a son named Zain.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Shahid was recently seen in ‘Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya’.

Written and directed by first-time filmmakers Amit Joshi and Aradhana Sah, ‘Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya’ features Shahid as a man who falls in love with a robot, named Sifra (Kriti Sanon). The film opened to mixed reviews.

The film also stars veteran stars Dharmendra and Dimple Kapadia.

He will be next seen in the action thriller film ‘Deva’ which also stars Pooja Hegde in the lead role.

The film is being helmed by Rosshan Andrrews, known for Malayalam films like ‘Salute’ and ‘Kayamkulam Kochunni’. It is being produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur and Zee Studios.

‘Deva’ will be released in theatres on the occasion of Dussehra 2024. (ANI)

Shahid Excited To Perform At WPL Opening Ceremony

Actor Shahid Kapoor is excited to perform at the opening ceremony of the second season of the Women’s Premier League (WPL).

The opening ceremony of the second season of WPL will be a star-studded affair. The preparations for the same have kickstarted. Ahead of the WPL season opener, Shahid expressed how much of a cricket buff he is and how WPL is great for women’s cricket and its future.

“I am a huge cricket buff. I want to celebrate women’s cricket and I am very happy that like @IPL, the #WPL too has come up.” @shahidkapoor is all excited to perform at the Opening Ceremony of #TATAWPL in Bengaluru, sharing the video, WPL’s X handle captioned the post.

In the video, Shahid said, “I am a huge cricket buff. I love cricket as a sport. I wanted to be a cricketer when I was a kid. Whenever I come into stadium, I am just full of lot of excitement. I like a kid who gets a chance to enter the candy store. So, it’s just great to be here. This is such a fantastic initiative. It’s great to see all the women, they are such amazing athletes and they deserve the best opportunities, and this is a great platform for them. I want to celebrate women’s cricket and I am very happy.”

He added, “It was well overdue. I think that fact that finally it’s been put together. It just goes to show that, the future very much is going to be Women’s cricket. I have a daughter and she used to wonder whether a woman plays cricket as well because she is very sporty and my sons likes to play cricket and she wanted to compete with him. So, I showed some of the matches and I was like, girls can play cricket and they are great at playing cricket. I am very happy that league has finally come up and we will be sitting like how I sit with my son and daughter for IPL, we will be sitting for WPL as well.”

In the video, Shahid can be seen rehearsing on the stage.

The second season of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) will kickstart from Friday, with defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) set to take on last year’s runners-up Delhi Capitals in a high-octane tournament opener in Bengaluru at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.

The opening match of the tournament could be the perfect tone-setter for Delhi, as they would be looking forward to moving past the heartbreak of last year’s loss to Mumbai in the finals and securing the gold. Meg Lanning would have her eyes set on the gold, hoping to hold the newest championship title of women’s franchise cricket after conquering international cricket Australia all over the world.

The tournament will go on till March 17 and will be held in Bengaluru and Delhi.

The summit clash will take place on March 17 in New Delhi while the eliminator will be played on March 15. The tournament will be hosted by Delhi and Bengaluru. (ANI)

Shahid To Rock The Dance Floor In ‘Laal Peeli Akhiyaan’

Shahid Kapoor is not only a great actor but he is also a versatile dancer. It’s been a long time since his fans saw him shaking a leg with full energy in films. Interestingly, the wait is now over.

Shahid is all set to set the dance floor on fire with the song ‘Laal Peeli Akhiyaan’ song from his upcoming film ‘Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya’, which also stars Kriti Sanon and Dharmendra.

On Thursday, Kriti and Shahid took to Instagram and dropped the song’s teaser.

In the brief clip, Shahid can be seen showcasing impressive dancing skills. He looked dapper in a black shirt that he paired with black pants and shades.

Kriti captioned the teaser, “Killer moves, banger beats… get ready ’cause @shahidkapoor is here to raise the heat!”

The dancing glimpse of Shahid left his fans elated.

The film ‘Teri Baton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya’ is written and directed by Amit Joshi and Aradhana Sah. Dinesh Vijan, Jyoti Deshpande, and Laxman Utekar have produced it. The film will be out in theatres on February 9.

Shahid also has ‘Deva’ with Pooja Hegde in his kitty. The cast recently finished shooting for the film’s first schedule.Recently, production house Roy Kapur Films shared a picture on X (formerly Twitter) and made the announcement.

They wrote, “And it’s a wrap for #DEVA schedule one. See you in 2024!”

The makers shared a picture of a gun-shaped cake with the text, “Deva first schedule done and dusted.” The film is being helmed by Rosshan Andrrews, known for Malayalam films like ‘Salute’ and ‘Kayamkulam Kochunni’ and is produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur and Zee Studios.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Shahid was recently seen in the action thriller film ‘Bloody Daddy’. Helmed by Ali Abbas Zafar, the film streamed on the OTT platform JioCinema.

In the coming months, he will be soon romancing Kriti Sanon in a yet-to-be-titled film, which will hit the theatres on February 9, 2024.

Shahid will also be seen sharing screen space with Pooja Hegde in director Rosshan Andrrews’ upcoming action thriller film.

The film is being produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur and Zee Studios. Taking to Instagram, production house Roy Kapur Films shared a post on Friday in which Pooja could be seen posing with Shahid Kapoor, director Roshan Andrews and producer Siddharth Roy Kapur.

The film is set to release in 2024.

The son of veteran actors Pankaj Kapur and Supriya Pathak, Ruhaan Kapoor recently tied the knot with the daughter of Manoj Pahwa and Seema Pahwa, Manukriti Pahwa.

Mira Kapoor, wife of actor Shahid Kapoor, loves exploring nature, especially water bodies. She is literally a water baby.

As she is currently vacationing in Europe, she did not miss any chance to flaunt her love for water.
On Friday, she took to Instagram and shared a picture of herself as she ‘jumped into a freezing lake’ in Switzerland.

In the image, Mira can be seen in a black bikini as she jumped off a deck with her friend.

Sharing the scenic snap, Mira wrote, “Take the plunge!I cannot resist jumping into water – the sea, off a raft, into a river, a waterfall and finally I ticked off a lake.”

Mira also opened up about she inherited love for water bodies from her mother.

“On our summer holidays to the hills, my mom would have us all stop at every waterfall so she can take a dip.. the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree..So after lunch at the beautiful @aiolaalporto (the linguini was so good we went twice in a row) and a quick change later, fellow water baby @lamourage_ and I took one too many jumps into the freezing lake,” she added.

Mira’s adventurous picture has garnered loads of likes and comments.

Mira’s brother-in-law Ishaan Khatter dropped a red heart emoji in the comment section.

Recently, Mira and Shahid marked their eighth wedding anniversary.

He is reaching out to people in small towns and villages who are doing such good work and people are not aware of it. Actor Shahid Kapoor said, “Modi ji wanted to stay connected with the people, I think that’s the sign of a great leader. All the greatest leaders in history, whether it be Kings or Prime Ministers have always stayed connected to the people. There cannot be a deeper connection than this, to be able to speak your mind and listen to people’s words, to be able to convey your words to them. I felt very fortunate that I was invited here. It’s a privilege to be here.”

Director and producer Rohit Shetty said, “I felt inspired, if one leader can show us the right path, then there is nothing impossible. When I was watching I felt how lucky we are that we have such an inspirational leader whom people listen to, from whom they are inspired, which is very rare.”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday addressed the nation in the historic 100th episode of ‘Mann Ki Baat’ and said that his radio programme is the “Mann Ki Baat” of millions of Indians and an expression of their emotions.

The Prime Minister said he received thousands of letters and messages from the people and was “swept away by emotions” while reading them. He said that the people of the country have to be congratulated for the 100th episode of his monthly radio programme that began on October 3, 2014.

“Today is the 100th episode of Mann Ki Baat. I have got thousands of letters, lakhs of messages. I have tried to go through more and more of them. I got emotional while reading your letters on many occasions, was swept away by emotions, and then held myself. You have congratulated me on the 100th episode of Mann Ki Baat, but all the listeners, our countrymen deserve to be congratulated. Mann Ki Baat is the ‘Mann Ki Baat of millions of Indians and the expression of their emotions,” PM Modi said.

The programme, which started on October 3, 2014, has become a key pillar of the government’s citizen-outreach programme addressing multiple social groups such as women, youth, and farmers and has spurred community action. (ANI)

He recently announced his new project with Kriti Sanon. And now on Wednesday Shahid shared his first look at Ali Abbas Zafar’s project ‘Bloody Daddy’.
The poster sees Shahid in an intense action avatar. He has blood stains on the collar of his white shirt.
