Salman on death threat

Security Beefs Up Outside Salman’s Residence After Threat Email

Mumbai Police beefed up security outside actor Salman Khan’s residence after he received threats by email.

Bandra Police registered a case under sections 506(2),120(b) and 34 of IPC.
Earlier on Saturday, Mumbai Police booked jailed gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi, Goldie Brar and Rohit Garg for allegedly sending threatening emails to actor Salman Khan’s office.

Khan is provided with Y+ category security by the Mumbai police as the actor is perceived to be under threat.

The Maharashtra state government took this step after the actor received a threat letter from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang earlier.

Last year, Salman and his father Salim Khan received a death threat. Salim Khan’s security team found the letter outside their Mumbai home near the Bandra Bandstand promenade, where he goes for his routine morning jog.

After the threat letter, Salman submitted an application to the Mumbai Police seeking a weapon licence for his own protection.

In October last year, Delhi Police made a sensational revelation in the case pertaining to the alleged plot to kill Salman Khan. Police said that the Lawrence Bishnoi gang members tried to befriend the staff of the actor’s farmhouse in Mumbai to ascertain the details about the timings of his entry and exit. (ANI)

Both the prime ministries will also take a walk together at the Buddha Jayanti park in Delhi to visit the Bal Bodhi tree, a venerated tree with deep roots to Gautam Buddha’s time.

Ties between India and Japan were elevated to ‘Global Partnership’ in 2000, ‘Strategic and Global Partnership’ in 2006, and ‘Special Strategic and Global Partnership’ in 2014.

Both countries have conducted regular yearly summits since 2006. (the last Annual Summit was held in March 2022 in New Delhi).

The Japanese PM will make joint statements with his Indian counterpart. Taking to his Twitter handle, Kishida said that he will hold a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

At a press briefing on Thursday, Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) official spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said that Japan is a “very important partner” and he stressed that India looks forward to the exchange of views. He did not reveal details regarding the talking points of the discussion that will take place between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Japanese counterpart.

They are also partners in plurilateral and multilateral constructs so we look forward to a rich discussion. We look forward to the exchange of views,” Bagchi said.

Amritpal Singh's wife Kirandeep Kaur

Amritpal Arrested, Claims Legal Advisor To Waris Punjab De

Fugitive pro-Khalistan leader Amritpal Singh has been arrested by the Punjab Police at Shahkot police station, Imaan Singh Khara, the legal advisor to Waris Punjab De claimed on Sunday.

Despite Punjab Police’s statement that Amritpal Singh is still on the run and efforts are on to nab him, Advocate Imaan Singh Khara claimed that the Khalistan sympathizer has been arrested at Shahkot Police Station.

The Advocate also alleged that the police wants to kill Singh in a “fake encounter”.

Citing a threat to the life of Amritpal Singh, Advocate Khara has approached Punjab and Haryana High Court and filed a writ petition.

“Today I have filed a criminal writ petition (Imaan Singh Khara vs State of Punjab) in the Punjab and Haryana High Court. This is a Habeas Corpus writ petition,” he told ANI.

Advocate Khara said, “as per the Article 21 of the Indian Constitution, which is the Right to Life, police cannot beat anyone without the due procedure of court.”

“In this plea, we have appealed to the Punjab and Haryana High Court that there is a threat to Amritpal Singh’s life and that he is arrested at Shahkot Police Station,” he said.

The lawyer further alleged that despite their [police’s] duty of producing a person before the magistrate within 24 hours, police haven’t produced him [Amritpal Singh].

“Police have a malicious intention,” he alleged further.

Earlier in the day, however, Punjab Police said that the Waris Punjab De chief is still on the run and efforts to nab him are going on.

“During the ongoing operations against the elements of Waris Punjab De and persons attempting to disturb peace and harmony in the state, another 34 arrests were made throughout the state on Sunday. A total of 112 persons have been arrested so far,” Punjab Police said.

In sharp contrast to this, Advocate Khara said, “police can kill him in a fake encounter and can trap him in false and fabricated cases by utilising the time.” “Regarding this, we have filed a writ petition,” he added.

He also claimed that Punjab and Haryana High Court have directed the Punjab police to come up with a missive in Amritpal Singh’s case.

“Justice NS Shekhawat, whom the writ petition was marked in the Punjab and Haryana court, heard it. The matter was debated for 1.30 hours, wherein Punjab Advocate General and other Punjab government Advocates were also present and submitted their side,” he said.

“After hearing the argument of both sides, the Judge has issued a notice to the Punjab government and also directed the Punjab Police to come up with the missive in Amritpal Singh’s case,” he added. (ANI)

Punjab Police launched a manhunt for Amritpal Singh and his aides on Saturday, in the wake of a showdown between his followers and uniformed personnel outside Ajnala police station to free a member, who had been arrested in an abduction case.

Tarsem Singh, Amritpal’s father, said the police should have arrested him before he left the house.

“We don’t have any information about his whereabouts. They carried out a search at our residence for 3-4 hours but did not find anything illegal. Police should have arrested him before he left home,” said Tarsem Singh in an exclusive interview with ANI on Saturday.

On February 23, thousands of his supporters stormed the Ajnala police station, flashing swords and high-calibre firearms and threatening the police with dire consequences if they did not release Lovepreet Toofan, who was arrested for allegedly assaulting and abducting a man.

The supporters, brandishing swords and guns, broke through police barricades erected outside the Ajnala police station.

The police later said “in the light of the evidence presented”, it has been decided that Lovepreet Singh Toofan will be discharged.

Lovepreet Singh was released from jail on February 24 following orders of a court in Ajnala on an application by the police.

Reacting to the incident, chief minister Bhagwant Mann said that these “1000 people” don’t represent Punjab, and alleged that they are “funded by Pakistan” to disrupt peace in the state. (ANI)

God Tests Those Who Pursue Path Of Truth: Kejriwal On Sisodia

God Tests Those Who Pursue Path Of Truth: Kejriwal On Sisodia

God tests those who pursue the path of truth and He is testing AAP leader Manish Sisodia also in this way, said Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in New Delhi on Sunday.

Kejriwal made these remarks while inaugurating a new School of Specialized Excellence in Rohini.

While addressing the public at the event he said, “King Harishchandra was a great king. So God tested him to see how truthful he was. His entire kingdom was snatched away, his son died and when his wife took him to the cremation ground, she didn’t even have money to pay for the cremation. This is how God tests. In the same way, God is also testing Manish Sisodia. Manish Sisodia will pass the test with 100 per cent and come back soon to you. Children, when you pray to God in the morning, pray for the health and well-being of Manish Sisodia.”

Kejriwal also said that children and teachers are missing Sisodia in the state.

“Manish Sisodia is not with us today. Just a few days ago some children came to me and said that they are missing Manish Sisodia a lot. So I told him that we were also missing him a lot, and many teachers say that they are also missing him. The children said that false cases have allegedly been filed against him and he has been falsely implicated. I said that the whole world knows this,” he said.

“Manish Sisodia has sent a message to children that he is fine and children should not worry. They should focus on their studies. He is worried about your studies and health even,” he added.

On Friday, the Rouse Avenue Court in Delhi extended former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia’s Enforcement Directorate (ED) remand by five more days in a money laundering case pertaining to alleged irregularities in the framing and implementation of the excise policy of GNCTD.

ED on March 9 had arrested Sisodia in the liquor policy case, after hours of questioning at Tihar Jail.

Prior to ED arrest, Sisodia was arrested by the CBI in the liquor policy case on February 26 and was sent to 14-day judicial custody on March 6. (ANI)
