Priyanka Roadshow in Amethi

Priyanka Holds Roadshow In Amethi To Support Kishori Lal

Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra held a roadshow in Amethi, Uttar Pradesh on Saturday in support of long-time Gandhi family loyalist, KL Sharma who is pitted against Rahul Gandhi’s slayer in last Lok Sabha polls, BJP’s Smriti Irani.

Both Gandhi and Sharma were seated on the roof of a vehicle. They were waving to the people.

A large number of people had gathered for the roadshow, along with Congress party flag and posters of Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi and Samajwadi party chief Akhilesh Yadav.

Earlier in the day, Kishori Lal Sharma exuded confidence in coming out victorious against Union Minister Smriti Irani.

“Not contesting to lose. I have faith in the alliance,” Sharma said in an interview to ANI.

He said that the Amethi constituency was developed by the Gandhi family and urged voters to vote for the INDIA bloc based on their development work.

“The Gandhi family developed this constituency. Vote for us based on our development work and our (the Gandhi family’s) legacy. Vote for them (BJP) for development work they have done,” he said.

“I am a soldier of the party and abiding by the party’s decision. Raebareli and Amethi are considered constituencies of the Gandhi family. So, Rahul ji is contesting from Raebareli and I am fighting from here,” the Congress leader added.

Kishori Lal Sharma, a close associate and loyalist of the Gandhi family, is originally from Punjab’s Ludhiana. He has been working for the Congress Party in Amethi for years.

Earlier on Friday, Rahul Gandhi and SP Chief Akhilesh Yadav attended a joint public rally in Uttar Pradesh’s Amethi to campaign for Congress and INDIA bloc candidate KL Sharma.

“I came here for the first time 42 years ago with my father (Rajiv Gandhi). Whatever I have learned about politics, it has been taught to me by the Amethi public. At that time, there were no roads and no development. And I have witnessed the relationship of love between the people here and my father,” the Congress leader said.

“And that is also (my style) of politics. So, you do not think that I am contesting from Rae Bareli… I was, am and will belong to the Amethi,” he added.

In 2019, Smriti Irani ended Gandhi family’s stint on the seat of Amethi by defeating Rahul Gandhi by over 55,000 votes.

Amethi, the most-watched seat in the fifth phase, will go to the polls on May 20. The results will be announced on June 4.

The Amethi seat comprises five assembly segments, including Tiloi, Salon, Jagdishpur, Gauriganj, and Amethi. The constituency is a general seat.

Polling for 80 Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh is being held across all seven phases. The counting of votes is scheduled for June 4. (ANI)

‘Indians Prefer Pedigree Dogs But Know Little About Pet Ownership’

Gargi Sen, a Kolkata-based documentary filmmaker, says the middle class often scoffs at native dogs and shirks their responsibilities as a pet parent. Her views:

Large cities contain several cities within themselves, often distinct from each other, with well defined boundaries and cultures, at times language too. Kolkata has several such pockets. It is a city with a large population that defies imagination. The fault-lines that carve out the city are not visible easily unless you know what to look for. And the prism to view might not be the city at all. I found a prism in the dogs of Kolkata.

The ‘Mahanagar’ is strangely kind to its population of street dogs. I say strangely because I have not encountered this level of care and compassion anywhere else. At the opposite end are pedigree dogs kept by the middle class. And this too is strange because I have met very few middle-class families who keep Indies, or rescued, as pets. It is a prestige issue really!

I have five ‘rescue dogs’ and two cats. The cats came with me from Delhi but the dogs got added here. I was looking for a dog as I was living alone, and cats, though the most lovable companions, are no good with strange noises or disturbances. They run away. My friends brought Star (Tara) to me from Bombay. A few months later, my neighbour, Soma, asked if I could keep two dogs in the gallery outside my home. They have to be kept tied and once they settle in, they can be let loose. It didn’t work.

I couldn’t bear to have the two dogs tied up. The gallery is open to the elements. Moreover, two street dogs live near my home. Elderly and lovable, they would get disturbed with this new element. Laali and Tara had spent their entire life being tied under the Gariahat Bridge. They are delightful companions. Mahadeb had been abandoned twice. A big dog with sad eyes, he behaves like a pup. Finally, Bagha. He was abandoned outside my house by his owner. Initially, I let him be outside and only fed him. But my neighbours didn’t like him at all and he faced violence. So, he joined my menagerie.

I brought in a dog-trainer, consulted my friend Aaron in Delhi, who is an animal behaviour specialist, and I read. The Hidden Life of Dogs by Elizabeth Marshall Thomas opened up the mysteries of dog-behaviour. I found this to be the most useful of the lot. The advice went against the grain of popular beliefs and very soon my dogs settled in and by and large became easy, happy and obedient who lived in harmony with each other and the two cats. Actually, the cats rule the roost.

The pejorative term for street dogs in Kolkata is Neri Kutta. My neighbours are offended that I keep Indies. My sister-in-law’s friends complained to her about my strange behaviour, living alone and keeping street dogs. My immediate neighbour snarled at me: “Why do you keep Neri Kutta? Can’t you keep ‘good’ dogs?” His wife threatened to send Mafuza, my house-help, to jail. Yet, this gentleman is silent when members of the ISKCON, behind my house, sing so loudly, and tunelessly, with drums, at ungodly hours. Or, during the Navratras, the Ved Bhawan held all-night singing sessions with instruments, on a mic, and periodically raised the battle cry of ‘Jai Shri Ram’. He neither snarled nor protested. In fact, the quietude of the ‘bhadralok’ residents was loud indeed. Not a peep in protest!

The middle class keep pedigree dogs, bought with obscene amounts of money. Dog-walkers walk these pet dogs mostly, though there are exceptions. Most dogs are muzzled to stop them from smelling or eating the garbage. No one carries a poop scoop, which, in Delhi, is a law. I used to carry one but people laughed so much that I stopped. Therefore, these entitled pets of the entitled, take a dump anywhere, on the road, pavements, in front of doorways. The dog-walker is not bothered. Indeed, the classist behaviour of the entitled middle class is adding filth to this already filthy city.

Heatwave in North India

Weatherman Flags Heatwave in North India Till May 21

A day after Delhi’s Najagarh baked at over 47°C to trend as the hottest place in the country, the Met department on Friday held out no immediate respite from the searing and scalding heatwave as it issued a fresh heatwave warning for the northern plains till May 21, Tuesday.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast a heatwave and a severe heatwave condition across vast swathes of North India, including several parts of Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana and Delhi, between May 17 and 21.

The premier weather forecasting agency said heatwave conditions were likely to prevail in parts of Uttar Pradesh from May 17-21; in isolated pockets of Gujarat between May 17 and 21; Bihar from May 17-20; Jharkhand between May 19 and 20; north Madhya Pradesh from May 18-21; Gangetic West Bengal between May 18 and 20; and Odisha on May 20 and 21.

While a red alert for severe heatwave was issued for west Rajasthan, an Orange alert was also out for Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, East Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Gujarat. A yellow alert for a heatwave-like condition was issued as well for Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal and Odisha.

An area is considered to be in the grip of a heatwave if the maximum temperature at a weather station reaches at least 40°C and at least 30°C or more for hilly regions.

The national capital accounted for some of the highest daytime temperatures in the country on Friday, with Najafgarh in southwest Delhi sweating at 47.4°C.

Himachal’s Una also recorded the season’s highest temperature for the state, at 43.2°C while Agra logged the second-highest maximum temperature ever recorded in the city at 46.9°C. Chandigarh, too, continued to reel under sweltering hot weather, recording a maximum temperature of 44.5°C. It was the third-highest maximum temperature ever recorded in the city, which doubles up as the joint capital of Punjab and Haryana.

Rajasthan’s Barmer recorded a maximum temperature of 46.5°C on Friday, while Delhi’s Ayanagar logged 46.2°c. Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh recorded 44.9°C while Gujarat’s Surendranagar and Punjab’s Patiala logged 44.7°C and 44.4°C respectively.

Amid the unrelenting heatwave, special arrangements were made for animals housed at the Nahargarh Biological Park of Jaipur to cool off.

“With the increasing temperatures, we have made certain special arrangements for animals at the Nahargarh Biological Park. Lions, panthers, tigers, and bears are being bathed regularly in their enclosures. The display area of their enclosures has rain guns, sprinklers, and a dripping system installed so that the temperature doesn’t go beyond tolerable limits,” Dr Arvind Mathur, senior wildlife veterinary officer at Nahargarh Biological and Zoological Park, told ANI.

Expanding on the summer diet of the animals at Nahargarh Biological Park, Mathur said, “The diets of some the animals have also been changed on medical advice, with sloth bears being additionally given barley-based drinks and fruit ice cream. Herbivores like deer are being fed with watermelons and cucumbers. All animals are being administered electro and glucose by rotation to boost their fluid intake. They are also being dewormed and monitored 24/7 while also being administered with nutrition supplements.”

Similarly, sprinklers and coolers have been installed for animals in the Kanpur Zoo to bring them a semblance of respite from the prevailing heatwave.

“The animals here are reeling under the prevailing severe heatwave. We have made requisite arrangements to protect them from the adverse effects of the prevailing weather. We have installed coolers and sprinklers for the animals, ensuring that the temperatures in their respective enclosures don’t breach limits of tolerance. We also rung in changes to their diet. We are keeping a close watch on every single animal at the zoo,” Dr Anurag Singh, the chief medical officer of Kanpur Zoo told ANI.

Similar cooling arrangements have also been made for the wildlife at Jammu and Kashmir’s Udhampur Zoological Park, amid the disconcerting heat.

“Our guests as well as visitors are feeling the effects of the prevailing heatwave. The animals are being subjected to regular medical checkups by our team of veterinarians while they are also being fed with watermelons to beat the heat. Water sprinklers have also been installed in their enclosures to help them cool off. They are also being administered with glucose from time to time,” We also provide them glucose regularly…,” Mahesh Abrol, the range officer of the Udhampur Wildlife Department, said. (ANI)

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal who complained of being assaulted by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s personal secretary Bibhav Kumar at the Chief Minister’s residence has bruises over her left leg and her right cheek according to the MLC report.

The Medico-legal Case report was filed after an examination of Swati Maliwal on the night of May 16. The examination was carried out at the Jai Prakash Narayan Apex Trauma Centre at AIIMS Delhi.

The report stated that Swati Maliwal had a bruise of the size of 3×2 centimetre over the “proximal left leg dorsal aspect” and another bruise of the size of 2×2 centimetre over her “right cheek below her right eye”.

Earlier, the Delhi Police had filed an FIR following the complaint filed by Swati Maliwal against the aide of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. In the complaint, Maliwal alleged that Kejriwal’s Personal Secretary Bibhav Kumar “slapped” her “atleast seven to eight times” while she “continued screaming” and “brutally dragged” her while “kicking” her in her “chest, stomach and pelvis area.”

According to the Delhi Police FIR, Maliwal describes the events of May 13 when she had gone to the Civil Lines residence of Chief Minister Kejriwal.

“I went inside the camp office and called CM’s PS Bibhav Kumar but I could not go in. I then sent a message to his mobile number (through WhatsApp). However, there was no response. I then went inside the residential area through the main door as I have always done in the past year since Bibhav Kumar was not present I entered the residence area and informed the staff present there to tell the CM here to meet him,” the FIR read.

“I was informed that he was present in the house and I was told to wait in the drawing room. I went into the drawing room sat on the sofa and waited for him to meet me,” Maliwal said.

“One of the staff members came and told me that CM was coming to meet me and suddenly, the PS of CM, Bibhav Kumar barged into the room. He started screaming without any provocation and even started abusing me. I was stunned by this….and I reacted by telling him to stop talking to me like this and to call the CM,” her statement read.

“He then abused me and asked who are you to not listen to what I say. While saying these words, he came and stood right in front of me. Without any provocation whatsoever on my side, he started slapping me with full force. He slapped me seven to eight times at least while I continued screaming. I felt absolutely shocked and was screaming for help over and over again. In order to protect myself I pushed him away with my legs,” she said.

“At that time, he pounced on me, brutally dragged me and deliberately pulled my shirt up. My shirt buttons opened and my shirt flew up. I landed on the floor while hitting my head on the centre table. I was constantly screaming for help but no one came. After that, Bibhav Kumar did not relent and attacked me by kicking me in my chest, stomach and pelvis area with his legs. I was in extreme pain and kept telling him to stop. My shirt was coming up but he continued to assault me,” the AAP MP said.

US Warns China over Support to Russia

US Warns China Over Support to Russia

A top US defence official has warned his Chinese counterpart about China’s increasing cooperation with Russia, even as Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladamir Putin met and pledged to strengthen ties between the two countries.

Ely Ratner, US Assistant Secretary of Defence for Indo-Pacific Security Affairs, spoke by video teleconference with China’s) Major General Li Bin, Director of the Central Military Commission Office for International Military Cooperation, on Friday.

Ratner discussed the relationship between Russia and North Korea as well as “serious concern over China’s support for Russia’s defence industrial base that enables Russia’s war in Ukraine,” the Pentagon said in a readout.

Putin was on an official two-day visit to China to mark the 75th anniversary of the establishment of ties between Moscow and Beijing, during which he and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping pledged a “new era” of partnership.

The US Defence Assistant Secretary also reiterated that the United States remains committed to the ‘One China’ policy, which is guided by the Taiwan Relations Act, the Three US-China Joint Communiques, and the Six Assurances, and he reaffirmed the importance of maintaining peace and stability across the Strait.

The US official also spoke with his Chinese counterpart about the escalating tension between China and the Philippines near the South China Sea shoal.

China, meanwhile has criticised the US of “military collusion” with Taiwan.

According to Beijing-headquartered Global Times, the Central Military Commission Office for International Military Cooperation told the US Assistant Secretary of Defence in the video call on Friday that the “military collusion” between the US and Taiwan as well as the “separatist acts” of the “Taiwan independence forces”, are the main sources of disruption to the current stability in the Taiwan Straits.

“China will take resolute and decisive countermeasures against any ‘Taiwan independence’ separatist activities and foreign connivance and support,” the spokesperson noted.

China on Friday also criticised a US military vessel’s recent “provocative moves,” stating that the US side’s invocation of the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) reveals its hegemonic nature.

Addressing a press conference in response to a media query about US guided-missile destroyer USS Halsey’s sailing through the Taiwan Strait, a Chinese military spokesperson said, “The Chinese side strongly deplores and firmly opposes this and has lodged solemn representations with the US side.”

Friday’s talks between US defence official Ei Ratner with Chinese official Li Ben follows the call in April between US defence secretary Lloyd Austin with China’s defence minister, Admiral Dong Jun. (ANI)

He paid tribute to Dr BR Ambedkar, the former Union Minister and head of the Constitution committee, at Chaitya Bhoomi in Mumbai.

Prime Minister Modi also paid tribute to the Veer Savarkar, freedom fighter leader of Hindu Mahasabha, at the Veer Savarkar Memorial in Mumbai.

Lok Sabha polls in Maharashtra are being held in five phases: April 19, April 26, May 7, May 13, and May 20. 13 constituencies including the six seats in Mumbai are among the ones that will vote on May 20. The counting of votes will be held on June 4.

The state, with its 48 Lok Sabha seats, is the second-largest contributor to the lower house of Parliament after Uttar Pradesh. Known for its political diversity and significant electoral influence, Maharashtra plays a crucial role in shaping national politics.

In the 2019 elections, the BJP emerged as the largest party with 23 seats, followed by the Shiv Sena with 18 seats.

Earlier in the day, during his address in Uttar Pradesh’s Hamirpur, PM Modi sharpened his attack against the Congress party, Samajwadi Party, and INDIA bloc, accusing it of “appeasement politics.”

Congress is saying that it will investigate everyone’s property. Then they will give a part of your property to the vote bank that does vote jihad for them.”

AAP Doing my Character Assassination

AAP Resorting To My Character Assassination To Save A Goonda: Swati

As the row over the alleged assault on Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal continues to intensify, the former Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chief attacked her party accusing it of saving a “Gunda” (hitman) and indulging in her “character assassination”.

The Aam Aadmi Party MP alleged that the accused — whom she throughout refers to in the post as “gunda” — is “threatening” the party of “exposing” its secrets.

Maliwal’s response came soon after the press conference by AAP leader Atishi, where she termed the Rajya Sabha MP’s visit to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s residence as “part of a conspiracy” and

In an apparent jibe at Atishi, the former Delhi Commission of Women (DCW) in her post stated, “kal ke aaye neta” (leaders who joined the party yesterday) while drawing comparison with her long association with AAP.

The AAP MP also pointed out that while her party had initially accepted the assault against her, now they have taken a “U-turn” in the case.

Taking to social media platform X, Maliwal said, “The new leaders in the party called a 20-year-old party worker as BJP’s agent. Two days back, the party had accepted the whole truth and today they have taken a U-Turn. This gunda (hitman) is threatening the party that if he gets arrested, he will expose all the secrets. That’s why he is running in shelter from Lucknow to other places.”

“Today, under his pressure bowed down and raised questions on my character to save a hitman. It doesn’t matter, I have kept on fighting for the women of the whole country all alone, and will keep on fighting. Do as much character assassination, the whole truth will come out at the right time,” she added.

Earlier, Atishi rejected the allegations made by Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal in the assault case and said that the former DCW chief was sent to CM Kejriwal’s residence by Bharatiya Janata Party as a part of a conspiracy so that “false accusations” could be levelled against AAP chief.

Addressing a press conference, Delhi Minister Atishi called Swati Maliwal the “face and pawn” of BJP’s conspiracy. Senior AAP leader said that Arvind Kejriwal got saved from this conspiracy as he was not present at the CM’s residence when the incident occurred.

On the remarks made by AAP leader Sanjay Singh at a recent press conference that their party is with Swati Maliwal, Atishi said that at that point Singh was only aware of Maliwal’s side.

“Till that point, Sanjay Singh was only aware about Swati Maliwal’s side. Now he got to know about the Bibhav Kumar’s side. The video which has surfaced clearly shows that what Maliwal mentioned in FIR are just mere false accusations. Her lies have come out in front of the whole country,” she said.

Prior to this, the Aam Aadmi Party attacked Maliwal with a post “Swati Maliwal ka sach (Swati Maliwal’s truth).”

The post refers to a news story with a purported video clip of the Rajya Sabha MP and security personnel at CM Kejriwal’s residence from May 13, the day of the alleged assault. However, Delhi Police has said that the video is yet to be authenticated by them.

Earlier in the day, Maliwal reached the Delhi Chief Minister’s residence for the recreation of the May 13 incident as part of the ongoing investigation. According to sources close to the Delhi Police, Additional DCP Delhi North, who is leading the investigation, Civil Line Police Station SHO and a team of forensic officials are present at the spot apart from Maliwal.

Delhi’s Tis Hazari court on Friday recorded the statement of AAP Rajya Sabha MP in the assault case. An FIR has been lodged against Bibhav Kumar and other persons on her complaint.

Delhi Police filed an FIR in the case based on the complaint of Swati Maliwal and the details of the FIR have revealed shocking details.

In her complaint, Maliwal has alleged that Kejriwal’s personal Secretary Bibhav Kumar “slapped” her “at least seven to eight times” while she “continued screaming” and “brutally dragged” her while “kicking” her in her “chest, stomach and pelvis area.”

The FIR was filed under IPC Sections 308 (Attempt to commit culpable homicide), 341 (Punishment for wrongful restraint), 354B (Assault or use of criminal force to woman with intent to disrobe), 506 (Punishment for criminal intimidation), and 509 (Word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman). AAP Atishi bjp

BJP Sent Swati Maliwal To Kejriwal’s House: Atishi

Rejecting the allegations made by its party’s Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal in the assault case, Aam Aadmi Party on Friday said that Maliwal was sent to the Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s residence by Bharatiya Janata Party as a part of a conspiracy so that “false accusations” can be levelled against AAP chief.

“Ever since Arvind Kejriwal has got bail, the BJP is rattled. Due to this, the BJP hatched a conspiracy, under which Swati Maliwal was sent to Arvind Kejriwal’s house on the morning of May 13. Swati Maliwal was the face and pawn of this conspiracy. She went there unannounced without an appointment. They intended to accuse the CM but the CM was not there at that time and he got saved,” Atishi said.

Atishi further said that the video that has surfaced clearly suggests that accusations made by Maliwal are false and former Delhi Commission Women chief can be seen threatening police officials at the residence.

“After that, Swati Maliwal accused Bibhav Kumar. In her complaint to the police, she said she was assaulted. The video which has come out today shows her sitting comfortably in the drawing room (of the CM house) and threatening the police officials. She was also seen threatening Bibhav Kumar and using abusive language in the video. Neither her clothes were torn nor any injury on her head can be seen in the video,” she said.

Atishi further said that Bibhav Kumar has also registered a police complaint against Swati Maliwal. Delhi minister further gave a detailed sequence of events that happened on the day of the incident.

“In his complaint, he has put up a sequence of events. Swati Maliwal without any appointment reached CM’s residence. When she was stopped and asked about the details of her visit she said that there was a prior appointment with CM. When security cross-checked her claims then it was found that there was no prior appointment. After which, Maliwal started threatening police officials and said that she being a Rajya Sabha MP can take away their jobs. She was made to sit in a waiting room and was told that she could not meet CM,” Atishi said.

“Then she forcibly entered the main building of the CM house and sat in the drawing room. What was the reason she forcibly entered the CM’s house? Then residence staff called Bibhav Kumar. Kumar told him that CM won’t be able to meet you. Maliwal started shouting at him and she wanted to enter the other main parts of the residence to which Bibhav did not give permission. Maliwal started pushing him aside. Later, Bibhav Kumar called CM’s security and asked them to escort her. This was a BJP’s conspiracy,” she added.

Delhi’s Tis Hazari court on Friday recorded the statement of AAP Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal in an assault case. An FIR has been lodged against Bibhav Kumar and other persons on her complaint.

Metropolitan Magistrate Katyayni Sharma Kandwal recorded Swati Maliwal’s Statement under section 164 Crpc. Maliwal reached Tis Hazari Court in police Security around 12 noon on Friday. Thereafter her statement was recorded by the magistrate.

After recording her statement before the magistrate in the national capital’s Tis Hazari court Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal came up with a post slamming an anonymous person and referring to them as a “political hitman” said he has started efforts to save himself.

“Like every time, this time also this political hitman has started efforts to save himself. By getting his people to tweet and play videos without any context, he thinks he can save himself by committing this crime,” alleged Maliwal in a post on X.”Who makes a video of someone being beaten up? The truth will be revealed to everyone as soon as the CCTV footage of the house and the room is checked. Fall to whatever level you can, God is watching everything. One day everyone’s truth will come out in front of the world,” she added in her post.

Maliwal was referring to a short video clip purportedly showing her and security personnel at the residence of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal on May 13. The clip that has now gone viral on social media is yet to be authenticated.

Delhi Police said that the video has come to their knowledge but it is yet to be verified. Maliwal described the events of May 13 when she went to the Civil Lines residence of Chief Minister Kejriwal, the FIR mentioned.

In a post on X, AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj said that Maliwal can be seen threatening police officials and Bibhav Kumar in the video that has surfaced.

“Some things can be understood by watching this video of May 13 – 1. The woman is saying that she has called the police, which means that the so-called assault has already taken place. 2. The officers in the Safari are Delhi Police officers on security duty. She does not tell them even once that she has been beaten up badly. 3. Today, the video of May 17 shows that she is not able to walk properly. But even immediately after the so-called serious injuries, in this video she is comfortably sitting on the sofa and dialling the phone. She is threatening the police and Bibhav with great enthusiasm. 4. On May 13, medical examination was not done even on the request of police. I hope more CCTV videos will come out and everyone will know the truth,” Bharadwaj said.

Modi RAhul INDIA Buxar

After June 4 Poll Results INDIA Bloc Will Be Disintegrated: PM

Stepping up the attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said that after the announcement of Lok Sabha results on June 4, opposition’s INDIA bloc will get scattered “Khatakhat, Khatakhat, Khatakhat”.

Prime Minister’s response comes after Congress’ Rahul Gandhi’s earlier remarks that money will be credited to the bank accounts of women “Khatakat Khatakat…” after the formation of the INDIA bloc government.

Prime Minister took a dig at Congress’ Rahul Gandhi for his earlier remarks that money will be credited to the bank accounts of women “Khatakat Khatakat…” after formation of INDIA bloc government.

The remarks of PM Narendra Modi while he was addressing a public rally in support of BJP candidate Sangam Lal Gupta in Uttar Pradesh’s Pratapgarh.

The PM criticised Akhilesh Yadav and Rahul Gandhi and said, “For the ‘shehzade’ of SP and Congress, the development of the nation is like the game of ‘gilli danda.’ Being born in palaces, these shehzades neither have the habit of hard work nor bringing the result. That’s why, they say that the development of the country will happen on its own. They say, ‘Vikas kaise hoga–khata khat khata khat,’ India will become self-reliant–khata khat khata khat, new highways will build up on its own–khata khat khata khat, poverty will leave the country–khata khat khata khat.”

He added further, “Somebody make them understand that the people of Raebareli will send them home–khata khat, khata khat. They went away from Amethi and will go away from Raebareli also.”

Claiming that on June 4, the Modi government will assume power, the PM said, “Running the country is not possible for the children born with a silver spoon… They (Akhilesh Yadav and Rahul Gandhi) can’t do this… After June 4, the Modi government will definitely form, but apart from this, several other things will also happen. INDI alliance will be broken and scattered–khata khat khata khat. ‘Parajay ke baad bali ke bakre ko dhunda jayega–khata khat khata khat.’ And these Shehzades will leave to foreign nations for summer vacations–khata khat khata khat. ‘Ye khata khat khata khat bahar jayenge aur ham aur aap reh jayenge.'”

The PM also talked about making a ‘Viksit and Atmanirbhar Bharat’ and said, “I give you the guarantee that I will work to serve you day and night. My each and every second will be for you. We will make a ‘Viksit Bharat, Atmanirbhar Bharat’ and for that, the countrymen will work towards it. And I have full faith that you (the public) are with me. This is Modi’s guarantee that if you work for 10 hours, I will work for 18 hours. This is my guarantee to 140 crores of the people of India.” (ANI)
