Amitabh after twitter tick

Tu Cheez Badi Hai Musk Musk: Amitabh After Twitter’s Tick

Bollywood veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan took to his inimitable style to thank Twitter chief Elon Musk for restoring the blue checkmark on his social media handle.

The Musk-owned social media platform had earlier removed blue ticks from legacy accounts, which had not purchased its paid Blue service and several celebrities including Bachchan, Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli and others had lost their blue ticks.
“Tu cheez badi hai musk musk” posted the superstar on Friday, writing in Hindi using an eastern Uttar Pradesh dialect, after the trademark blue verification badge was back on the megastar’s Twitter. Big B interchanged the lyrics of the song “Tu Cheez Badi Hai Mast Mast” from the 1994 film “Mohra” to thank “big brother” Musk .

“Hey Musk brother! We thank you very much! Blue Lotus (blue tick) is added in front of my name! Now what do I tell you, brother? I feel like singing a song, Will you like to listen? Ok listen “Tu cheez badi hai musk musk… tu chiz badi hai musk”

Bachchan had earlier taken to the social media platform to return his blue tick which he referred to as the “neel kamal.”

The ‘Piku’ actor also folded his hands (he used an emoticon) urging for the return of his verification badge. The megastar claimed that he had already paid for the services.

Twitter had earlier announced the implementation of paid subscription service which charges USD 8 for blue verification badge on the microblogging site. Those who didn’t pay up or buy the service in time lost the blue checkmark on their handles.

This creativity by the Bollywood legend left his fans in splits.

The blue tick served as a way of protecting well-known individuals from impersonation and tackling false information.

“On April 1st, we will begin winding down our legacy verified program and removing legacy verified checkmarks. To keep your blue checkmark on Twitter, individuals can sign up for Twitter Blue,” Twitter said in a post in March.

Twitter first introduced the blue check mark system in 2009 to help users identify that celebrities, politicians, companies and brands, news organizations and other accounts “of public interest” were genuine and not impostors or parody accounts. The company didn’t previously charge for verification.

Musk launched Twitter Blue with the check-mark badge as one of the premium perks within two weeks of the company’s takeover last year. (ANI)

Mamata on politics

We Don’t Want Danga: Mamata On Hate Politics

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Saturday claimed that people are trying to divide the country through politics of hatred while asserting that she would not let the country divide in the name of religion and is ready to lay down her life for it.

West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee and Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Abhishek Banerjee visited Red Road in Kolkata where people offered namaz on the occasion of Eid-Ul-Fitr.
Addressing the gathering, Mamata Banerjee said, “We want peace in Bengal. We don’t want riots. We want peace. We don’t want divisions in the country.”

“Those who want to create divides in the country – I promise today on Eid, I am ready to give my life but I will not let the country divide. We don’t want danga, we don’t want a clash. We want shanti (peace),” she added.

“If democracy will go away, everything will go away. Today Constitution is being changed, history is being changed. They brought NRC; I told them that I will not let them do that,” the Bengal CM stated.

Earlier, on the occasion of Ram Navami, several vehicles were set on fire after two groups clashed in Howrah. During the procession, the rioters vandalized public and private properties and set vehicles on fire.

Launching a scathing attack at the BJP-led Central government, the West Bengal CM said, “Someone takes money from BJP and says that they will divide Muslim votes. I tell them that they don’t have the courage to divide Muslim votes for BJP. It is my promise to you today. There is one year to elections. See who will get elected and who won’t.”

“All I would like to tell you is – stay peaceful, don’t listen to anyone. A “gaddar party” with whom I have to fight, I have to fight agencies too – I fight them because I have the courage to do so but I am not ready to cow down,” she added.

Condemning the release of the 11 convicts who had gang-raped Bilkis Bano and murdered her family members during the 2002 Godhra riots, the CM said, “Everyone was released in the Bilkis case. But we will not tolerate all this. We will fight and we will win.”

The Gujarat government granted remission to 11 convicts on August 10 last year following which they walked free on August 15, 2022.

“Leaders should always keep unity. We dont want to destroy anything. I pray to Allah to give us s
hakti
(power). If we are united then I am sure we can defeat them,” Banerjee added.

TMC’s Abhishek Banerjee also reiterated CM Mamata Banerjee’s words.

He said, “Be it Christmas, Durga Puja or Eid, we in West Bengal have unity. We dont want any division. This only happens in West Bengal. No other state or city has this. They want to divide and rule. But this can’t happen. There should be brotherhood everywhere.”

“The trees, roads, and soil don’t have a caste. Allah and God are not bad. Those people who divide people are. Those who will try to apply the divide-and-rule policy in Bengal will not be tolerated. We say, Jay Hind, we say Vande Mataram as well as we say Jai Bangla,” he added.

Muslims across India, as well as different parts of the world on Saturday, are celebrating the festival of Eid-ul-Fitr by offering namaz. The festival marks the end of the holy month of Ramzan.

Eid ul-Fitr is celebrated on the first day of Shawwal, the 10th month of the Islamic lunar calendar. The festival is of great significance due to the moon sighting which has been part of Islamic culture for a long time. It is believed that Prophet Muhammad used to wait for news of sightings of the crescent moon as it narrated the beginning of a new month.

Ending the holy month of Ramzan and starting a new spiritual journey also marks the beginning of a new Islamic year.

Eid-ul-Fitr marks the month-long Ramzan fasting and the beginning of Shawwal which is the tenth month per the Islamic calendar. Since the observance of the moon is essential for ending Ramzan month and celebrating Eid, it is celebrated in different parts on different days usually with a one-day difference. (ANI)

No Khalistani Wave In Punjab: Amit Shah Praises State Govt

Even as the hunt to nab absconding Khalistan sympathiser Amritpal Singh continues, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday said that there is no Khalistan wave in Punjab and the Centre is keeping a close watch on the situation.

The Home Minister pointed out that the Punjab government had done good work and that the Centre had cooperated.
“There is no wave (of Khalistan). Many times, some people try, but the governments have done their job. The Punjab government has done a good job, the Centre has supported. We are monitoring the situation closely,” Shah said while speaking at a media conclave in Bengaluru.

Asked about Amritpal Singh’s arrest and that he has been absconding for a long, the Union Minister said, “It may happen some time. Earlier he used to roam freely, but now he cannot carry on with his activities,” he said.

The Union Home Minister also said that the BJP government led by PM Narendra Modi will not tolerate any attack on the Indian High Commissions and that strict action will be taken in accordance with Indian laws.

Amit Shah was referring to the attack on the Indian High Commission in London last month and the consulate in UK and San Francisco.

“We have made the NIA so capable that they can probe if there is any conspiracy against India on foreign soil. Delhi Police registered a case and launched a probe and a report from the Indian High Commission was also received. Based on that, we have handed the probe to the NIA,” the home minister said in the media conclave held in Bengaluru.

On March 19 this year, protesters holding Khalistan banners staged a demonstration outside the High Commission in London. One of the protestors climbed up its balcony and pulled down the Indian national flag of India. The protest was being held to denounce the recent police action in Punjab.

In a video of the incident, which has since gone viral on social media, a protestor is seen on the balcony attempting to bring down the Indian flag. At the end of the video, another man is seen reaching the balcony and wresting the Tricolour back from the Khalistan supporter.

Khalistan supporters also allegedly attacked Indian Consulate in San Francisco (SFO). Videos of supporters breaking the doors and barging into the office surfaced on social media.

Meanwhile, speaking at the media conclave in Bengaluru today, the Home Minister further pointed out that the Popular Front of India is also an important issue in Karnataka which goes to Assembly polls on May 10, and said that people feel secure after the Centre’s clampdown against the now-banned outfit.

“PFI is an important issue as well. Congress kept PFI safe and supported it in Karnataka. The BJP government has put a ban on PFI and clamped against the propagating separatist organisation in South India. If there is one state which will benefit the most, it is Karnataka,” he said.

Asked if people would cast their votes for the BJP on the issue of the PFI ban, the Home Minister said that it is not an issue, the security of the people is.

“PFI might not be the issue, security could be. The way violence was being unleashed under PFI…Our worker Praveen was killed in daylight. The strictness with which we have worked (against PFI), there is definitely an appreciation in the people of Karnataka. They are feeling secure,” he said.

The Union Home Ministry had in September last year declared the Popular Front of India (PFI) and its affiliates an ‘Unlawful Association’

It had said that PFI and its associates or affiliates or fronts have been found to be involved in serious offences, including terrorism and its financing, targeted gruesome killings, disregarding the constitutional set-up of the country, disturbing public order etc. which are prejudicial to the integrity, security and sovereignty of the country.

The Home Ministry said it found it necessary to curb the nefarious activities of the organization. It declared the Popular Front of India (PFI) along with its associates or affiliates or fronts including Rehab India Foundation (RIF), Campus Front of India (CFI), All India Imams Council (AIIC), National Confederation of Human Rights Organization (NCHRO), National Women’s Front, Junior Front, Empower India Foundation and Rehab Foundation, Kerala as “unlawful association” under the provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967. Amitabh On Twitter's Blue Tick

Ab To Paisa Bhi Bhar Diye Hum: Amitabh On Twitter’s Blue Tick

Legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan never fails to entertain whether it is on-screen performance or on his social media posts. On Friday the ‘Sholay’ actor made a request for the restoration of the Twitter blue tick with a funny and somewhat sarcastic comment.

Bachchan’s tweet, made in a dialect of eastern Uttar Pradesh, reflected his characteristic humour.
“T 4623 – Hey Twitter brother! Are you listening? Now I even paid…so put back the blue lotus (tick) in front of my name, so that people know that it is Amitabh Bachchan only. I have already made request with folded hands, now should I fall at your feet?” Bachchan said.

Apart from Amitabh Bachchan, B-town celebrities including Shah Rukh Khan and Alia Bhatt, politicians CM Yogi Adityanath, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi and cricketers Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are among those who have for the present lost their verified blue ticks from their Twitter accounts.

Twitter has started following a pay model and many of high-profile users are losing verified blue ticks.

Earlier it was announced that the microblogging site will remove the verified check-mark status of accounts that Twitter had verified before Elon Musk’s takeover unless they have subscribed to Twitter Blue or the business-focused Twitter Verified Organizations plan, Variety reported.

The blue tick served as a way of protecting well-known individuals from impersonation and tackling false information.

“On April 1st, we will begin winding down our legacy verified program and removing legacy verified checkmarks. To keep your blue checkmark on Twitter, individuals can sign up for Twitter Blue,” Twitter had said in a post in March.

(ANI)
