Aaditya Thackeray Questions M’rashtra’s Lawsarkar

Former minister and Shiv Sena (UBT) MLA Aaditya Thackeray on Saturday lashed out at the BJP-led Maharashtra government while questioning the law and order situation in the state.

In a post on X, Thackeray reiterated his earlier ‘khoke sarkar’ (a government shrouded in corruption) remarks against Eknath Shinde’s dispensation in the state.

Thackeray outlined a series of incidents highlighting the deteriorating security situation under what he termed as the “BJP-sponsored khoke sarkar” (a government shrouded in corruption).

“Maharashtra was taken over by the BJP-sponsored Khoke Sarkar,” Thackeray said in his post.

He further alleged that the past two years witnessed a surge in riots sparked by fake WhatsApp messages, coupled with threats targeting businesses by criminal elements pointing it to be the current state of affairs in the state.

“In the past 2 years, many riots have been sparked off over fake WhatsApp messages. Goons have been threatening businesses,” the Shiv Sena (UBT) leader said.

Thackeray questioned the safety of the citizens in the face of these alarming incidents.

“This is the current state of affairs in Maharashtra, unfortunately, under a highly incapable and shameless illegal CM,” Thackeray said.

“How will citizens feel safe under these criminals running the regime?,” he added.

This comes a day after Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Ganpat Gaikwad allegedly opened fire at Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde) faction leader Mahesh Gaikwad at Hill Line Police Station in Maharashtra’s Ulhasnagar.

Earlier in the day, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut called for Chief Minister Ekhnath Shinde’s resignation following the firing incident.

The Shiv Sena (UBT) leader also claimed that the BJP MLA who fired at the Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) MLA said that gangsters will continue to thrive in the state if Chief Minister Eknath Shinde stays in power.

Hitting out at the Eknath Shinde government, Raut also said that the way the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) has become a den of goons, similar incidents can also take place at the CMO.

“Today, it happened at a Police station. The manner in which the CMO has become a den of goons, I fear that such incidents can take place even at the Mantralaya and CMO,” Raut said.

NCP (Sharad Pawar faction) National Spokesperson Clyde Crasto also criticised the state government claiming a failure of law and order.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadanavis have ordered a high-level inquiry into the police station firing incident. A Crime Branch Special Investigation Team (SIT) has also been formed to investigate the incident. (ANI)

Shinde Doesn’t Want To Talk About M’rashtra-K’taka Border: Thackeray

Amid the Maharashtra-Karnataka border row, Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) leader and former state minister Aaditya Thackeray on Tuesday attacked Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde saying he did not talk about the issue due to fear.

“We want a discussion on the Karnataka-Maharashtra border issue in State Assembly. We want to know what Maharashtra Chief Minister said in the meeting held in Delhi. Karnataka Chief Minister is aggressive on this issue but our Chief Minister does not want to talk about it due to fear,” Aaditya Thackeray told reporters here.
The first day of the winter session of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly began with an uproar by the opposition, with MLAs of the Mahavikas Aghadi holding placards protesting on the Vidhan Bhavan premises over the Maharashtra-Karnataka border dispute.

MLAs of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), Congress and Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) joined the protest.

Leader of Opposition Ajit Pawar raised the issue of the border dispute in the Assembly and said “A Lok Sabha member from Maharashtra has been stopped from entering Belgaum. In a meeting with Home Minister Amit Shah it was decided that no one would be stopped from going there, then how can the collector there take such a decision.”

Responding to the issue raised by Pawar, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said, “For the first time the Home Minister of the country mediated the border dispute, he has taken this issue seriously, we have presented the side of the border residents to him, Amit Shah has had put forth his point in front of the border dispute, now there should be no politics on the border dispute, we should stand together with the border residents.”

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis aligned with CM Shinde’s remarks and said that the government will look into the matter.

Tension prevailed in the border areas of Belagavi on the Maharashtra Karnataka border after members of the Maharastra Ekikaran Samiti (MES) and Nationalist Congress Party staged a protest on Monday demanding they be allowed into Belagavi.

Belagavi Police denied permission to MES to conduct its Maha Melava at the Vaccine Depot ground in Tilakwadi and clamped prohibited orders in Tilakwadi Police Station jurisdiction.

Section 144 has been imposed in the area and heavy security was deployed at the site of the MES convention which was scheduled to take place on the first day of the Winter Session of the Karnataka Assembly today.

According to police, Karnataka Chief Minister BS Bommai has made it clear that no ministers from Maharashtra will be allowed entry into Belagavi.

The Maharastra Ekikaran Samiti also known as the Maharashtra Integration Committee staged a protest after authorities in Karnataka denied permission to allow a few leaders from Maharashtra into Belagavi. Supporters of MES claim that Belagavi belongs to Maharashtra and should be given to Maharashtra.

The border dispute between Maharashtra and Karnataka goes back to the implementation of the State Reorganization Act, of 1956. The then Maharashtra government had demanded the readjustment of its border with Karnataka.

Following this, a four-member committee was formed by both states. The Maharashtra government had expressed willingness to transfer 260 predominantly Kannada-speaking villages, but the proposal was turned down by Karnataka.

Both governments later approached the Supreme Court to expedite the matter. (ANI)

Those Who Ill-Treated People From Bihar Are Now With BJP: Aaditya Thackeray

Shiv Sena (Uddhav Thackeray) leader Aaditya Thackeray on Wednesday said that those who “ill-treated people from Bihar” are now with the Bharatiya Janata Party in Maharashtra, while also stating that everyone existed “peacefully” under the previous Maha Vikas Aghadi government.

Thackeray was on a visit to Bihar where he held a meeting with Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
Speaking to the reporters after the meeting, Thackeray said that Maharashtra was moving forward when there was an MVA government.

“Those who ill-treated people from Bihar are with the BJP, they should answer. Everyone existed peacefully in Maharashtra. In the last two and a half years when there was the MVA government, we were working according to the Constitution and the state was moving forward,” he said.

Thackeray’s remarks came in response to a question if the safety of the people from Bihar would be ensured in Maharashtra.

The response of the Shiv Sena leader is crucial as a large chunk of the migrants from Bihar live in Mumbai.

Elaborating on the issues discussed during the meeting with Tejashwi, he said that they did not have any political conversation.

“We had discussions on various issues like the environment, development, and industries. The most important thing is that any youth who wants to work for the country, employment, Constitution and against inflation. If all of us keep interacting, we can do something good for the country. We have not had any political conversation today,” he said.

When asked who would lead the politics by the youth, the Shiv Sena leader said, “Anyone can do the job. Tejashwi is working well, we keep on interacting. We are long racehorses.”

He lauded the work of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav and said that Bihar has seen significant progress under their leadership.

Thackeray’s visit to Bihar comes ahead of the civic body polls in Mumbai. (ANI)
