Cong Made Rajasthan No 1 In Riots, Crime, Corruption: Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday launched an all-out attack against the Congress government, alleging that under the party’s rule, the state had become “number one” in the “riots, crime, corruption and paper leak” case.

Today is the last day of campaigning in the state before going to the polls on November 23, and voting and results will be declared on December 3.

While concluding his campaign in the State, PM Modi said, “BJP is going to form the government in Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh”, while anticipating the party being voted to power in these three poll-going States.

PM Modi “assured” that the BJP, if voted to power, will make the state “number one” in tourism, investments, industries and education.

At a poll rally in poll-bound Rajasthan’s Deogarh district during his whirlwind tour of the State, PM Modi said, “Congress promoted Rajasthan to the number one position in riots, crime, corruption and paper leaks (during their five years of rule)”.

“We (BJP) will promote Rajasthan to the number one position in tourism, investments, industries and education…'”, as Modi assured the crowd while underscoring the “need” for a strong government for the development of the State.

PM Modi alleged that the Congress government had stopped all the schemes of the previous-led BJP governments when they came to power.

“Five years ago, when Congress came to power, they stopped all our schemes,” PM Modi added.

“On December 3, when the BJP will return to power, we will take forward the schemes that will benefit the people of the state…” PM Modi said, anticipating the BJP’s “win” in the upcoming Assembly elections.

During his address, PM Modi said, “Our alliance is with the ‘Janata Janardan”.

Of the 200 assembly seats, 199 will be contested on November 25, as elections in the Karanpur constituency were adjourned due to the passing of Congress candidate Gurmeet Singh Koonar

In 2018, the Congress won 99 seats, while the BJP won 73. Gehlot assumed the CM position with the support of BSP MLAs and independents. (ANI)

Sachin after AICC Meeting

Our Organisation, Min All Will Work Together: Sachin After Meeting At AICC

Congress leader and former Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan Sachin Pilot on Thursday said that the party’s goal is to return to power in the state, adding that party will collectively work together to achieve the objective.

“It was a very meaningful, extensive and important discussion. We discussed all the issues…Our organisation, our leaders, our MLAs, and ministers all will work together and as I have always been saying our goal is to form Congress government again in Rajasthan…”, Sachin Pilot told the media following a party meeting on the upcoming Assembly elections at the AICC headquarters.
During a press briefing, Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal said that Congress will fight unitedly, reverse the trend of alternative governments and repeat the Congress government in Rajasthan.

He said, “29 leaders from Rajasthan Congress including the CM and PCC chief participated in this meeting today. All the leaders unanimously decided that Congress can win the Rajasthan elections provided there is unity among Rajasthan Congress. Today, all leaders decided to fight the elections unitedly. On the basis of winning ability, the candidates will be selected. The list of candidates will be announced in the first week of September.”

Furthermore, Venugopal cautioned party members to not discuss internal issues outside the party and said that strict disciplinary action will be taken against those who violate it.

“The party has decided that everyone should follow strict discipline. Any issues are to be discussed within the party, and no one has the freedom to speak about the party’s internal politics outside the party. Strict disciplinary action will be taken against those who violate this”, he added.

Earlier today, Congress leaders Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi met leaders from Rajasthan to assess preparations for assembly polls and bring greater cohesion in the state party unit amid differences between Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and former Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot.

The meeting was attended by Sachin Pilot and several other senior leaders from Rajasthan as the Assembly polls are scheduled to be held later this year.

CM Gehlot joined the meeting through video conferencing.

Congress has been in power in Rajasthan over the past four-and-half-years and the differences between Gehlot and Pilot have made it harder for Congress to get another term in office in the state. Pilot led a revolt against Gehlot in 2020 and subsequently lost his positions as Deputy Chief Minister and state party chief.

The loyalists of the Chief Minister scuttled a meeting of party legislators last year which the AICC had planned for apparent leadership change in the state as Gehlot was to shift to Delhi as party chief.

Gehlot had then decided to continue as Chief Minister. Piot has accused the government of not taking appropriate action over “corruption” allegations faced by the BJP government led by Vasundhara Raje. He carried out Jan Sangarsh Yatra over his demands against the advice of party leadership.

Pilot has also demanded disbanding and reorganising of the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC), which hit the headlines in the wake of the alleged paper leak case, and compensation to the affected candidates.

Rajasthan is among the five states that will go to assembly elections later this year along with Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana and Mizoram.

The Congress leadership has already held strategy meetings for the other poll-bound states. (ANI)

Bharat Jodo Yatra

Bharat Jodo Day13: Yatra To Cover 15 Km Today, To Camp In Kochi

The 13th day of the Bharat Jodo Yatra began from Cherthala on Tuesday.

The Congress MP Rahul Gandhi-led Yatra will continue for 15 kilometers until Kuthiyathodu in Alappuzha.
The campsite tonight is in Kochi district.

“Like the last few days, the 13th day of #BharatJodoYatra also started around 6:30 in the morning. In the morning session of the padayatra today, Indian travellers will walk 15 km from Cherthala to Kuthiyathodu in the Alappuzha district. Tonight’s camp will be organized in Kochi district,” tweeted Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and party workers, followers and masses will be in the southern state of Kerala for 18 days.

The Yatra is in its Kerala leg and would traverse through the state in the upcoming 12 days.

The 3,500-km march from Kanyakumari to Kashmir will be completed in 150 days and cover as many as 12 states. From Kerala, the Yatra will traverse through the state for the next 18 days, reaching Karnataka on September 30. It will be in Karnataka for 21 days before moving north. The Padyatra (march) will cover a distance of 25 km every day.

Earlier on Monday Congress MP Rahul Gandhi participated in a snake boat race exhibition in the Punnamada lake in Kerala.

Rahul Gandhi was seen rowing the boat along with other men and had a smile at the end as he wiped his face.

Gandhi took to Twitter and said, “When we all work together in perfect harmony, there is nothing we cannot accomplish”.

Earlier in the day, the Congress leader interacted with fishermen at Vadackal beach in Kerala’s Alappuzha and discussed the challenges faced by them.

The Wayanad MP held discussions about the rising fuel costs, reduced subsidies, dwindling fish stock, inadequate educational opportunities, and environmental destruction among other issues.

“At 6 am, Rahul Gandhi interacted with fisherfolk at Vadackal beach in Alappuzha on their challenges–rising fuel costs, reduced subsidies, dwindling fish stock, lack of social welfare & pensions, inadequate educational opportunities, and environmental destruction,” Congress leader Jairam Ramesh informed in a tweet.

The Congress leader said that the spirit of the Bharat Jodo Yatra is to bring Indians together irrespective of religion, and community and remind them that this is one country and it will be successful if we stand together and are respectful towards each other.

The Yatra includes Padayatras, rallies, and public meetings which will be later attended by the senior Congress leaders including Sonia Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.

The Congress suffered a debacle in the assembly polls held earlier this year and the Yatra is seen as an attempt to rally the party rank and file for the upcoming electoral battles. (ANI)
