What India Needs Today Is A Bomb: Lalit Jha

The Special Cell of Delhi Police said it was keeping a close eye on the social media posts of Lalit Jha, the alleged mastermind of the Parliament security breach.

Some posts of Lalit, one of which states, “What India needs is a bomb”, are under the lens, the Special Cell informed.

Sources in Delhi Police said Lalit dropped the “What India needs is a bomb” post on his social media handle on October 26, weeks before the Parliament security breach on December 13, Wednesday.

He posted further in Bengali, “What India needs today is a bomb. It needs a strong voice against tyranny, injustice and anarchy.”

Lalit made similar inflammatory posts on his social media, Delhi Police said.

In another post, dated November 5, Lalit wrote that whoever talks about livelihood and rights, regardless of who he is, is labelled a ‘communist’.

Lalit Jha’s social media are full of similar inflammatory posts, as a reason the Special Cell is investigating Lalit’s social media links.

The Special Cell said it was also probing whom Lalit was in touch with on social media, adding that it was also investigating if the alleged security breach mastermind was speaking to others on social media and, if so, what was said.

The Special Cell said it had reasons to believe that Lalit would mislead people with the help of social media.

Further, according to sources in Delhi Police, Lalit has been ‘misleading’ the investigators since being arrested after a manhunt.

The Special Cell has also written to the telecom service provider, seeking information about Lalit and the other four accused persons.

The Special Cell team is conducting an on-ground verification of the leads that they have received from Lalit, sources in Delhi Police said.

Further, according to sources, most of what has so far been elicited from the accused mastermind has turned out to be ‘just words’ aimed at misleading the investigators.

Earlier, Delhi Police sources revealed that Lalit destroyed five mobile phones before coming to Delhi, adding that he was misleading the investigating team.

According to Delhi Police, Lalit destroyed not four but five mobile phones after fleeing to Rajasthan’s Kuchaman, according to sources. The fifth accused and mastermind in the Parliament security breach case, Lalit is alleged to have burnt the mobile phones of his associates along with his friend Mahesh after fleeing to Kuchaman, the sources added.

Ahead of the incident, all four accused had handed over their mobile phones to Jha to ensure that crucial leads in the case didn’t fall into the hands of the investigators, sources said, adding that the accused had been anticipating their arrest.

In Kuchaman, Jha met his friend Mahesh, who got him a room for the night, police sources said, adding that both had met through Facebook, as revealed by Jha during his interrogation. (ANI)

Lalit Jha Destroyed Five Mobile Phones Before Arrest

Delhi police sources have revealed that mastermind Lalit Jha, in connection with the Parliament security breach, destroyed five mobile phones before coming to Delhi and was misleading the investigating team.

According to the Delhi police Lalit Jha destroyed not four but five mobile phones after fleeing to Rajasthan’s Kuchaman, said police sources.

Investigation has revealed that Lalit first destroyed the phones of the four accused and before coming to Delhi he destroyed his own phone also.

According to Delhi Police sources Lalit is continuously misleading the investigation team.

The investigation team has written a letter to the cellular company seeking information about Lalit and the remaining four accused.

Whatever Lalit and the other accused are telling to the police, the Special Cell team is going on the ground to verify it, Delhi police sources said.

According to sources, most of the statements which the accused have given are proving to be just mere words to mislead the police.

Lalit Jha, the fifth accused and mastermind in Parliament security breach case, burnt the mobile phones of his associates along with his friend Mahesh after fleeing to Rajasthan’s Kuchaman, said police sources.

Ahead of the incident, all four accused had handed over their mobile phones to Jha so that crucial investigation details cannot get into police hands as they were anticipating their arrest.

In Kuchaman, Jha met his friend Mahesh, who got him a room for the night. Both of them had met through Facebook, as revealed by Jha during his interrogation.

However, Delhi police are verifying all the claims made by Jha. Jha was also present outside the parliament and captured the video of two of his accomplices with the intent to publicise it.

The Special Cell of Delhi Police apprised the Patiala House Court that mastermind Lalit Jha disclosed that all the accused in the parliament security breach incident met many times and executed the conspiracy.

Delhi Police, while producing Jha before the concerned judge, informed that accused Lalit Jha has disclosed that accused persons, including him, wanted to create anarchy in the country so that they could compel the government to meet their demands. (ANI)

Delhi Court Sends Parliament Attack Accused Lalit Jha To 7-Day Police Remand

The Patiala House Court here on Friday granted seven-day custody of Lalit Jha, the accused in the Parliament security breach case, to Police.

Lalit Jha was brought to the concerned judge of Patiala House Court. He was also provided legal aide counsel, Advocate Umakant Kataria.

The Delhi Police while seeking 15-day custody of Jha told the court, “He is a mastermind. We need his custody to unearth the whole conspiracy and main motive behind the incident. We need to travel and take him to different cities and places. We need custody to recover the mobile devices also.”

However, the court sent him to a seven-day police remand.

The security breach happened on the anniversary of the 2001 Parliament terror attack. Two people–Sagar Sharma and Manoranjan D–jumped into the Lok Sabha chamber from the public gallery during Zero Hour, released yellow gas from canisters and shouted anti-establishment slogans before being overpowered by the MPs. Outside it, in another incident, two protestors — Neelam (42) and Amol (25) — protested outside the Parliament with similar gas canisters. However, all four were sent to seven-day custody of Delhi Police Special Cell on Thursday.

Last night, senior police officials, including two Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCP) and Additional Commissioners of Police, interrogated Lalit Jha, during which he narrated the whole incident to officials.

According to sources, during interrogation, it came to light that preparations for the attack were being made months ago. An entry pass was necessary for entry into Parliament; hence, it was not available. Lalit had asked everyone who could arrange the pass so that they could easily enter Parliament.

From a hotel in Rajasthan Lalit was continuously keeping an eye on ongoing developments and police movements through news channels, they said.

According to sources, to unearth more details in the case, the Special Cell of Delhi Police has formed six teams that will go to the locations linked with the accused in Lucknow, Mysore, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Maharashtra and Haryana.

The investigation also revealed that two pairs of shoes were made on special order in Lucknow, as the accused discovered that shoes do not get checked in Parliament and this can be an easy way to carry the smoke canister inside the parliament.

Meanwhile, Special Cell will recreate the scene of Wednesday’s Parliament security breach by taking the accused to the Parliament complex on Saturday or Sunday, sources said.

According to sources, the accused will be taken to Parliament to recreate the scene of the crime. This will help the police find out how the accused entered the Parliament building with colour spray and how they executed their plan, sources from the Special Cell said. (ANI)
