Pankaj, Sara, Karisma’s ‘Murder Mubarak’ To Be Out In March

Pankaj Tripathi, Sara Ali Khan and Karisma Kapoor-starrer ‘Murder Mubarak’ will be released on Netflix.

The film will hit the streaming giant on March 15.

On Monday, the makers unveiled the film’s promo, leaving netizens intrigued. Sanjay Kapoor, Vijay Varma, Tisca Chopra, Dimple Kapadia and Suhail Nayyar are also a part of the film.

In the promo, Pankaj Tripathi can be seen essaying the role of a non-traditional cop who is involved in a murder investigation.

Homi Adajania has helmed the flm.

Sharing more details about ‘Murder Mubarak’, Homi Adajania in a statement said,”Murder Mubarak is a cinematic concoction of actors that are loved across genres and generations and believe me each one of them has done such a fab job in bringing these eccentric characters to life. This film has that binge-worthy magic that lends itself to a compulsive watch. It’s a colorful murder mystery that will make you want to rewind and watch it over again when you wonder how you missed all the clues in this breadcrumb-laden whodunnit. And thanks to our collab with Netflix, with its international reach, it’s like throwing the coolest, wackiest party and the whole world is invited.”

Dinesh Vijan, Producer, Maddock Films, has also shared his views.

“This is the sixth project that Homi and I are diving into and I wanted to up the ante by finding a uniquely entertaining narrative and then this happened! Also to have such an eclectic ensemble bring to life a script that is one of the quirkier and more entertaining murder mysteries that I’ve read was very exciting for me,” he shared.

I Have Narrated Atal ji’s Poems With Twist: Pankaj

Actor Pankaj Tripathi is all set to come up with his upcoming film ‘Main Atal Hoon’, which revolves around the life of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

Sharing how he prepared himself for the role, Pankaj in an interview with ANI said, “I was scared, how will I do it, I don’t know what will happen, how will it happen, I took seven-eight days to think. I also took my friends’ suggestions…they thought that I was the correct person. Bhanushali (producer Vinod Bhanushali) then said, ‘If you don’t do it then I will not make this film’. However, I was afraid of how much justice would I be able to do to the character of respected Atal ji. I didn’t know how much I mimicked as I didn’t know imitation and mimicry, that was the challenge. He is a huge personality and it is not possible to bring the story of that personality in a two-hour story on cinema.”

The former Prime Minister harboured a deep love for literature and had authored several poems.

Recalling how he narrated those poems in the film, Pankaj added, “I have narrated Atal ji’s poems in the film but it is not exactly in the same way he did…The essence has been maintained, there are pauses at some places, but a slight twist has been done. In the film, at some places, the poem is also recited in the voice of Atal ji.”

He added, “This is the story of a child from Bateshwar who later becomes a poet and politician named Atal Bihari Vajpayee and becomes the Prime Minister. In the research of this movie, I have found that a man should be people’s leader from within. It is not possible for someone to like everyone’s ideology and everyone thinks that my ideology is right. There should be agreement even in disagreements, people can criticise me also and I will accept it.”

‘Main Atal Hoon’ is helmed by director Ravi Jadhav. The film is written by Rishi Virmani and Ravi Jadhav.

Earlier, during the trailer launch, he opened up about his interest in politics and how he prepared for Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s biopic.

He also recalled a funny anecdote from his college days when he joined Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) during his college days.

“I was in a youth wing. I have participated in mandolins. I was even jailed for a week! Toh main uss raaste pe nikal chuka tha. Then I realised that the path of politics is full of thorns. Hence, I took a turn and started developing an interest in street theatre. There was Kaildas Rangalaya, Patna, where I enrolled myself. Mujhe laga ki yeh behtar hai. Yahaan kam se kam bol ke acting hoti hai ki ‘main acting kar raha hoon’,” Pankaj quipped.

The film is all set to hit theatres on January 19, 2024. It is backed by Bhanushali Studios Limited and Legend Studios, Vinod Bhanushali, Sandeep Singh, Sam Khan and Kamlesh Bhanushali. (ANI)

Pankaj’s ‘Kadak Singh’ To Release On OTT

Actor Pankaj Tripathi will be seen headlining ‘Kadak Singh’.

Directed by Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury, the film follows the perplexing journey of AK Shrivastav (Pankaj Tripathi) as he battles retrograde amnesia, uncovering a web of conflicting narratives from his past. Amidst the process of piecing together his life, the film delves into his quest to expose the truth behind a significant financial crime.

Sanjana Sanghi, Jaya Ahsan, Parvathy Thiruvothu, Dilip Shankar, Paresh Pahuja and Varun Buddhadev are also a part of ‘Kadak Singh’.

The film will be released on ZEE5. The makers on Thursday also unveiled the first look poster of Pankaj Tripathi.

Sharing more details about the film, Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury said, “Kadak Singh is a special film and talks about the responsibility of one government official towards the common people. Pankaj Tripathi and Sanjana Sanghi have done a fabulous job at portraying this complex father daughter story. In fact, I was in a paradise full of great actors including Parvathy and Jaya Ahsan and collaborators where each one of them has really pushed the boundary to deliver a terrific thriller.”

He added, “The highlight of this film is that it has relationships in different forms and how these relationships provide different perspectives and help the story move forward. It is also about a dysfunctional family coming on their own and becoming functional after a series of events leading to a rollercoaster of emotions. I hope that the film enriches people as it is a commentary on the society.”

Manish Kalra, Chief Business Officer, ZEE5 India, also expressed excitement about the film.

‘Stree 2’: RajKummar, Shraddha Begin Shooting For Horror-Comedy Sequel

Bollywood actors Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, on Tuesday began the shooting for their next film, the horror comedy sequel ‘Stree 2’.

Taking to Instagram, actor RajKummar Rao shared a special video and announced the news.
He captioned the video, “Ek baar phir, Chanderi mein faila aantak! Stree 2 filming begins! Aa rahi hai woh- August 2024!”

The video hints that the sequel might be having two ghosts this time as it was written “sarkate ka aatank” in Hindi in the clip.

Helmed by Amar Kaushik, the film stars RajKummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurana and Abhishek Banerjee in the lead roles.

It is all set to hit the theatres in August 2024.

Soon after the actor dropped the video, fans flooded the comment section with red hearts and fire emoticons.

Bhumi Pednekar commented, “Caaaaaant wait guys.”

“Most awaited movie,” a fan wrote.

Another fan commented, “Omg !!!!!!!!! Very excited for this.”

Makers of the upcoming horror comedy film officially announced their film at a grand event in Mumbai in April where the team enacted a skit to announce the release date of the horror comedy sequel. The ‘Stree 2’ cast recently met for the script reading sessions.

Helmed by Amar Kaushik ‘Stree’ was released in the year 2018 and was declared a blockbuster hit. Rajkummar and Aparshakti also had a cameo in Varun Dhawan’s horror comedy film ‘Bhediya’ which was released in November last year. The makers of ‘Bhediya’ also announced the sequel of the film.

At the gala, Varun unveiled the logo of ‘Bhediya 2’ and even made a wolf sound, expressing his excitement.

Meanwhile, RajKummar will also be seen in ‘Mr and Mrs Mahi’ opposite actor Janhvi Kapoor and in Srikant Bholla’s biopic ‘SRI’ opposite Alaya F. (ANI)

‘Main Atal Hoon’: Pankaj Shares First Look On Former PM’s Birth Anniv

On the birth anniversary of India’s three-time Prime Minister, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, actor Pankaj Tripathi shared his first look as the former PM from his upcoming biopic ‘Main Atal Hoon’.

Pankaj took to his Instagram handle on Sunday and shared a series of pictures introducing Vajpayee as a PM, poet, statesman, and gentleman.
He was seen wearing a dhoti-kurta and a jacket with prosthetics to resemble the former PM.

The actor captioned the post in Hindi, writing, “I know that it is necessary for me to work on my personality with restraint in order to make ‘Atal’ ji’s personality come true on screen. I have firm faith that I will be able to do justice to my new role with enthusiasm and morale.”

Pankaj also shared a video montage and wrote in Hindi, ‘I have got this opportunity to portray this rare personality on screen. I am emotional and grateful.”

‘Main Atal Hoon’ revolves around the journey of the multifaceted ex-Prime Minister who was also a poet, a statesman, a leader, and a humanitarian.

Helmed by National Award-winning Director, Ravi Jadhav and written by Utkarsh Naithani, the film will release in December 2023.

The music for the film will be composed by Salim-Sulaiman with lyrics by Sameer, while Sonu Nigam has rendered vocals for the motion video announcement.

One Should Not Get Into Acting Just For Money: Pankaj

One of the finest actors working in the Hindi film industry today is Pankaj Tripathi. From featuring in a blink-and-miss role in ‘Run’ (2004) to headlining mainstream projects like ‘Mirzapur’, ‘Ludo’, ‘Kaagaz’ and ‘Criminal Justice, the 47-year-old, who hails from a village in Bihar, has definitely come a long way.

In a tete-a-tete with ANI during the 53rd International Film Festival of India (IFFI), Pankaj got candid about his journey so far and how he reached the pinnacle of his career with no godfather in the industry.
“I come from a very simple family. I belong to a village where we even struggled to get the basic facility of electricity but we were happy. I was living far from the world of acting and now my entire life is all about acting. My love for cinema developed organically. I used to watch plays in my hometown .. that’s when I actually developed a major interest in theatre and then I moved to Delhi and joined the National School Of Drama (NSD). After a few years, I went to the city of dreams Mumbai and since then I have been learning the craft of cinema and trying my best to showcase my skills via my acting on screen. This journey is beyond any dream I saw,” Pankaj said.

He feels it’s his roots that actually helped him carve a niche in the film industry.

“One should never forget his/her roots. If you forget your roots then it becomes difficult to survive. Be it a person or a story or a plant, everything in this world is rooted. Whatever I am today is all because of my roots,” Pankaj emphasised.

As today many young aspiring actors look up to Pankaj as their role model, he shared a golden piece of advice for all.

“One should never get into this profession only for money and fame. First understand why you want to come here ( in the film industry).. understand your love, and your needs. Kaam dil se karoge paisa zarur miljaega life me (Money will eventually come to you at one point),” he added, recalling his first paycheck.

“I still remember my first paycheck was of Rs 1700 for a brief TV stint,” he shared.

Over fifteen years into his film industry career, with a repertoire full of path-breaking roles, Pankaj, undoubtedly, set a benchmark in Hindi cinema. (ANI)

Pankaj Tripathi To Essay Atal Bihari Vajpayee In Biopic

Bollywood actor Pankaj Tripathi is roped in to portray the lead role in former Indian Prime Minister, Atal Bihari Bajpayee’s upcoming biopic.

Taking to Instagram, shared a post which he captioned in Hindi, “Bharat zameen ka tukda nahi, jeeta jaagta rashtrpurush hai!, ye panktiyan likhne waali mahaan neta Shree Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji ki bhumika mujhe bade parde pr sakaar karne ka awsar mil raha hai, ye main apne saubhagya manta hun. #ATAL jald hi.”

Titled ‘Main Rahoon Ya Na Rahoon Ye Desh Rehna Chahiye – Atal,’ the film is produced by Sandeep Singh and Vinod Bhanushali.

The film will be an adaptation of Penguin Random House India’s book “The Untold Vajpayee: politician and paradox” by author Ullekh NP.

The film will go on floors in 2023. Also, ‘Main RahoonYa Na Rahoon, Yeh Desh Rehna Chahiye – Atal’ movie will hit the theatres next year on the occasion of Christmas, which marks the 99th birth anniversary of Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who led the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government from 1998-2004, was the first-ever leader from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to have become the nation’s Prime Minister. He served as Prime Minister thrice — briefly in 1996, and then for two terms between 1998 and 2004.

One of the prominent leaders of the country and founder members of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Vajpayee died on August 16, 2018, at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) after a prolonged illness. He was 93.

The late leader was conferred Bharat Ratna in 2015. He had also been awarded Pt Govind Ballabh Pant Award for Best Parliamentarian in 1994.

Meanwhile, Pankaj will be next seen in ‘OMG -Oh My God! 2’ alongside Akshay Kumar, Yami Gautam and Arun Govil, which is a sequel to the 2012 film, ‘OMG-Oh My God!’ (ANI)
