‘Dalits And Rajputs Are Joining Forces To Challenge Manuvadis’

Prof Vilas Kharat, a writer and political activists, says a new era in Indian politics is on the horizon with Rajputs allying with Backwards to bring social justice. His Views:

The country is waking up to a new dawn where the marginalized sections are uniting against the authoritarian class. Allow me explain and put things in perspective. There are two communities in India among the most mistreated and maligned: the first is the Mulniwasi (the original inhabitant, Schedule Caste and Schedule Tribe) and the second is Kshatriyas (Rajputs).

These two communities have been pitted against each other since ages by a section of Manuwadi forces. The fact is that Mulniwasis and Rajputs have had cordial relations peaceful co-existence since ages. . Both the communities are bound with one uniting force, that it Lord Buddha and his teachings. The Mulniwasis consider them as the torch-bearers of Buddhism in India and spread his teaching which is the most beautiful gift to the world which this country gave. Incidentally, Lord Buddha was an Ikshvakuvanshi Kshatriya and hence the bond.

Now Rajput youths are coming back to their age-old Buddhist fold and reinventing the teachings of Lord Buddha with their Mulniwasi brethren. Nothing can be more beautiful than these two communities coming together for a better future and harmony of the country. History tells us that many a time these two communities joined forces to battle push back aggressors and expansionists.

The new slogan of – Jai Mulniwasi, Jai Kshatra Dharm—has also been coined during the meets of Dalit activists and Rajput youths, which seems like a beginning of a new era in India’s politics. We are happy to see that the Rajput youths have begun celebrating Buddha Poornima with Buddhist Mulniwasis in many parts of the country. This unity marks a new beginning in the history of India’s socio-political stage.

Rajput estates like Jashpur, Mewar, have a clear mention of the role of Mulniwasis in shaping of the kingdoms. Rjaput kingdoms had a major role of Mulniwasis not only in their army but also in their economy. The king of Bastar’s Kakatiya estate Praveer Bhanjdeo was killed protecting the rights of the Mulniwasis of the forest of the area. And now this history is being repeated.

These two communities also share the same kind of dejection and atrocities in terms of social justice at the hands of Manuvadis. Despite giving many generations to this country, the Rajput community is still being targeted by Manuvadis. There are targeted campaigns on social media, against the Rajput youths who are openly chanting the new slogan of ‘Jai Mulniwasi – Jai Kshatra Dharm’ or even ‘Namo Buddhay’. They are being labeled as traitors and sub-human by Manuvadis. But their historic bond remains unflinching. The Rajputs and Mulniwasis have shaped the country culturally, historically and now it’s time to shape it politically too.

Like the legendary great freedom fighters, Bhagwan Birsa Munda and Babu Kunwar Singh, the Mulniwasi and the Rajput youths are uniting for the betterment of this country. They share the same revolutionary feeling and love for the motherland like their ancestors did. We are sure that we will script not only a new history, but also bring about a change to the socio-political mindset of people soon.

Allahabad HC Declines Stay On Pray In Gyanvapi Mosque

Gyanvapi Case: SC Defers Scientific Survey Of “Shivling”

The Supreme Court on Friday deferred the “scientific survey”, including carbon dating, of a “Shivling” said to have been found at the Gyanvapi mosque complex in Varanasi during a videographic survey last year.

A bench of Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud and Justices PS Narasimha and KV Viswanathan put on hold the carbon dating of the “Shivling” saying that the implementation of the directions contained in the Allahabad High Court’s order shall stand deferred till the next date of hearing.
“Since the implications of the impugned order merit closet scrutiny, the implementation of the directions concerned in the order shall stand deferred till the next date,” said the bench in its order.

The bench also issued notice to the Centre and Uttar Pradesh government on the appeal of the Gyanvapi mosque management committee against the High Court’s recent order for scientific investigation by ASI to determine the age of “Shivling”.

Senior advocate Huzefa Ahmadi, appearing for the Gyanvapi mosque management committee, told the bench that the carbon dating and the survey will commence on Monday.

Solicitor General of India Tushar Mehta, appearing for the State of Uttar Pradesh, submitted that there should be no damage to the structure which one side claims a “Shivling” and the other calls a fountain.

Advocate Vishnu Shankar Jain, appearing for the Hindu petitioners in the case, said that experts of the ASI have already informed that no damage will be caused to the structure.

During the survey, a structure — claimed to be a “Shivling” by the Hindu side and a “fountain” by the Muslim side — was found in the mosque premises on May 16 last year during a court-mandated survey of the mosque located next to the Kashi Vishwanath temple.

The High Court on May 12 set aside the Varanasi District judge’s order which had rejected the application for a scientific survey and carbon dating of the “Shivling” on October 14, 2022.

The High Court directed the Varanasi District judge to proceed, in accordance with the law, on the application by the Hindu worshippers for conducting a scientific probe of the “Shivling”.

Petitioners Laxmi Devi and three others had filed a plea in the High Court, challenging the order lower court order. (ANI)

March In Gaza

Israel Uses Live Fire, Tear Gas On Palestinians Flag March In Gaza

Several Palestinians were hurt after Israeli police opened fire and used tear gas against them while they were participating in a protest on Gaza Strip’s eastern border with Israel, reported Al Jazeera.

The protest occurred following a so-called “flag march” by far-right Israelis on Thursday in the Old City of occupied East Jerusalem.
On Thursday, hundreds of Palestinians took part in the protest that had been scheduled by the Palestinian factions in response to the Israeli march. The protest in Gaza denounced the Jerusalem “flag march” and demanded a stop to Israeli raids on the Al-Aqsa Mosque complex.

Israeli authorities stated that after Palestinians threw explosives at the fence separating Israel and Gaza, its officers opened fire, according to Al Jazeera.

Violence has occurred in recent years as a result of the event, which is commemorated yearly to commemorate the occupation and annexation of East Jerusalem.

After unrest broke out following Israeli soldiers’ storming of the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, the third holiest site in Islam, and the deportation of Palestinians from the Sheikh Jarrah district, both in East Jerusalem, the march was rerouted in 2021, reported Al Jazeera.

Last week, the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) carried out retaliatory strikes in the Gaza Strip that it claimed were directed at two underground Islamic Jihad rocket launchers as a result of missile alarms that had been heard in southern and central Israel.

After 5 days of intense fighting, Israel and Palestinian Islamic Jihad somehow agreed to a ceasefire, which was brokered by Egypt told The Times of Israel.

The fighting resulted in the death of 33 Palestinians, including at least 13 civilians. Two people in Israel were killed by rocket fire.

While the calm brought a sense of relief to Gaza’s more than 2 million people and hundreds of thousands of Israelis who had been confined to bomb shelters in recent days, the agreement did nothing to address the underlying issues that have fuelled numerous rounds of fighting between Israel and Palestinian militant groups in the Gaza Strip. UK-India Partnership

UK Announces Ban On Russian Diamonds Ahead Of G7

In a fresh round of sanctions, the UK has announced a ban on Russian diamonds, alongside the military-industrial complex and metals amid the ongoing Ukraine war.

An industry worth USD4 billion in exports in 2021, the ban on diamonds comes amid the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war. The ban has also been announced on imports of Russian-origin copper, aluminium and nickel, the UK government said in a statement on Thursday.
Along with these trade sanctions, the UK is also preparing to target an additional 86 members of Putin’s military-industrial complex as well as those engaged in vital industries including energy, metals, and shipping, the statement said.

As the UK continues to engage with G7 allies to address all types of sanctions circumvention, they also include those who actively help the Kremlin in its efforts to weaken the impact of current sanctions, it said.

As he meets with G7 leaders in Hiroshima, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak will also issue a warning against complacency in preserving “our ideals and against despotic governments,” the UK government said.

To hinder Russia’s war effort, the UK has applied the harshest set of sanctions ever placed on a significant economy, it said.

“To date we have sanctioned over 1,500 individuals and entities, freezing more than £18 billion of assets in the UK, and sanctioned over £20 billion of UK-Russia goods trade,” the official statement of UK government read.

Along with other G7 leaders, the prime minister is set to visit the A-Bomb dome site at the Hiroshima Peace Park before participating in discussions on global collaboration, the G7 reaction to the Ukraine, Indo-Pacific security policy, and nuclear non-proliferation.

“He will urge the international community to stay the course on Ukraine, ensuring it has the diplomatic, military and economic support it needs, in the interests of international peace and security,” the government statement said.

In his meeting with President Zelenskyy on Monday, the Prime Minister confirmed increased military assistance and emphasised the significance of long-term international support for Ukraine, particularly for the country’s future in NATO. This announcement comes after that meeting. The leaders talked about Ukraine’s road to a stronger political alliance and greater cooperation with G7 and NATO members.

Recently, Russia has considerably increased the number of missile attacks against Ukraine, but it also seems that Ukraine is shooting down more of Russia’s missiles.

Meanwhile, the United States will also unveil new sanctions to “extensively restrict Russia’s access to goods that matter for its battlefield capabilities,” a US official said on Friday ahead of a G7 summit in Japan.

The United States apparently plans to blacklist about 70 companies and organizations for selling restricted US products to Russia.

“We will continue to expand export controls to make it even harder for Russia to sustain its war machine. Among other things, this involves extensively restricting categories of goods key to the battlefield, and also cutting off roughly 70 entities from Russia and third countries from receiving US exports by adding them to the Commerce blacklist,” the official stated. Will Implement Our Guarantee: K’taka Deputy CM Shivakumar

Ahead of his visit to the national capital, Karnataka Deputy CM-designate DK Shivakumar on Friday assured that Congress will fulfil “guarantees” made to the public in the party’s manifesto.

“We are going to implement our guarantee,” Karnataka Deputy CM-designate DK Shivakumar told ANI as he left his residence for Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru where the swearing-in ceremony will take place on May 20.
Congress on Thursday officially announced the name of the chief ministerial and deputy chief ministerial face, thus ending days of suspense. Congress leaders Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar were chosen to be chief ministers and deputy chief ministers respectively.

Both leaders are scheduled to visit the national capital today to discuss the names of MLAs to be inducted into the government. They had returned to Bengaluru yesterday to attend the Congress Legislative Party meeting, and staking claim to form government before the Governor.

The swearing-in ceremony will be held on May 20.

Parameshwara, a Dalit leader, was reportedly upset over the denial of deputy chief minister posts.

Speaking to ANI over the Dalit community’s demand for a Deputy CM post for G Parameshwara, Patil said, “Whoever voted – the Lingayats, the Dalits, the Vokkaligas, the STs, Muslims – all these people have to be given their due share. I am confident our party will do the same. They will give due respect to all these communities and the power will be shared with all communities.”

On being asked about the Lingayat community’s demand for a Deputy CM post for him, Patil said that he is confident that Congress will give due share to the community.

“…Lingayats contesting on BJP tickets have been rejected. So, naturally, when we have come towards Congress, the expectations are high. They want a due share. I am confident that our party will take care of it,” he said.

“…Why not? I would have been much happier if I got 50 seats,” said Patil when asked about the “tussle” arising out of Lingayat and Dalit communities’ demand for Deputy CM posts for G Parameshwara and him amid the thumping victory of the party in Karnataka elections.

On Friday, Karnataka Congress MLA G Parameshwara, who was reportedly upset over the denial of the deputy chief ministerial post, on Friday said that “sacrifice” has to be made at “some point”.

“That is okay. We all have to sacrifice at some point in time. It is a good thing happening,” G Parameshwara said when asked about him not being given the CM or Deputy CM post.

The Congress manifesto lists five main guarantees. “Gruha Jyoti: 200 units of free power to all households, Gruha Lakshmi: Rs 2,000 monthly assistance to the woman head of every family, Anna Bhagya: 10 kg of rice free to every member of a BPL household; Yuva Nidhi scheme: diploma holders will get an allowance of Rs1,500 per month for two years, while graduates will receive Rs 3,000 per month and Shakti: Free bus rides for all women in the state”. New Parliament building

Modi To Inaugurate New Parliament Building On May 28

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will on May 28 dedicate to the nation the newly-constructed Parliament building.

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla met the Prime Minister on Thursday and invited him to inaugurate the New Parliament Building.
A Lok Sabha release said that construction of the New Parliament Building in the national capital has been completed and it symbolises the spirit of self-reliant India.

The present building of the Parliament was completed in 1927 which is now going to be almost 100 years old.

“The lack of space was being experienced in this building as per the present requirements. In both the Houses, there was also a lack of convenient arrangements for the sitting of the MPs which was affecting the efficiency of the work of the members,” the release said.

Both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha passed resolutions urging the government to construct a new building for the Parliament.

The foundation stone of the new building of Parliament was laid by Prime Minister Modi on December 10, 2020.

The newly constructed Parliament building has been built “in record time with quality construction”.

The release said that the newly-constructed building of Parliament, which will further enrich India’s glorious democratic traditions and constitutional values, is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities which will help the Members to perform their functions in a better way.

It said 888 members will be able to sit in the Lok Sabha.

In the present building of the Parliament, there is a provision for the sitting of 543 Members in the Lok Sabha while 250 in the Rajya Sabha.

Keeping in view the future requirements, arrangements have been made for a meeting of 888 members in the Lok Sabha while 384 members in the Rajya Sabha in the newly constructed building of the Parliament. The joint session of both the Houses will be held in Lok Sabha Chamber. (ANI)
