Rajkummar Reunites With ‘Stree’ Co-stars

Actor Rajkummar Rao reunited with the star cast of his horror comedy film ‘Stree’ Aparshakti Khurana and Abhishek Banerjee on Wednesday.

Taking to Instagram, director Amar Kaushik shared a couple of pictures and captioned it, “Aao Kabhi Haveli Pe Feels like Deja Vu !!!”

In the pictures, Rajkummar, Aparshakti and Abhishek could be seen sitting on a couch and looking at their tablets.

Soon after he shared the picture, fans flooded the comment section with red hearts and fire emoticons and shared their excitement for ‘Stree 2’.

Actor Bhumi Pednekar commented, “Part 2 coming.”

“Can’t wait for Bhediya2 and stree2,” a fan commented.

A user commented, “Seems cool! Can’t waittt.”

The key highlight of the pictures were the ‘Stree’ and ‘Bhediya’ mannequins in the background.

Makers of the upcoming horror comedy film ‘Stree 2’, officially announced their film at a grand event in Mumbai in April where the team enacted a skit to announce the release date of the horror comedy sequel.

The team revealed that ‘Stree 2’ is set to release on August 31, 2024 and will also star Pankaj Tripathi and Shraddha Kapoor in the lead roles.

Helmed by Amar Kaushik ‘Stree’ was released in the year 2018 and was declared a blockbuster hit.

Rajkummar and Aparshakti also had a cameo in Varun Dhawan’s horror comedy film ‘Bhediya’ which was released in November last year.

The makers of ‘Bhediya’ also announced the sequel of the film. At the gala, Varun unveiled the logo of Bhediya 2 and even made a wolf sound, expressing his excitement.

Earlier, Abhishek Banerjee also talked about the much-awaited sequel of ‘Stree’ and said, “2023 is here!!! And I am very thrilled to kickstart this year, but looking back at the work I did last year- I was very nervous about JD aka Jana as it had to be similar yet difficult from Stree. But thankfully it was received well by the audience. Now the journey of Stree 2 will be super exciting.. recently I wrapped up Apurva. I’m thrilled to see how people will react to some very extreme characters. The playground is going to get bigger and better this year… so I am looking forward to it.”

Meanwhile, Rajkummar will also be seen in an upcoming sports drama film ‘Mr and Mrs Mahi’ opposite Janhvi Kapoor. (ANI)

Uttarakhand Dhami 8 New Cities

Dhami Proposes Plan To Set Up 8 New Cities Worth Rs 1100 Cr

In Uttarakhand, the central government has given preliminary approval for setting up two new cities near Kashipur in Kumaon division and Doiwala in Garhwal division.

The Housing Department of the Government of Uttarakhand has given the presentation of the well-equipped city to the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Development. After the consent, the team of the center is going to come soon to inspect both the places.
The State Housing Department is working on a plan to set up eight new cities in the state. Recently, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had proposed Rs 1100 crore while requesting the Center in this regard.

Under this, the Housing Department had prepared a proposal for two cities. One of these cities will be built on 378.50 hectare land of Parag Farm in Kashipur under the name of Industrial City.

The second one will be built on Doon-Haridwar Highway near Doiwala on 3080.8 hectares of land in the name of Aero City.

State’s Additional Chief Secretary Housing Anandvardhan said that “the central team will come soon for both the townships, after which further action will be taken.” (ANI)

UP: Three-Member SIT To Probe Lucknow Civil Court Firing

A three-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been constituted to probe the firing incident inside the Lucknow Civil Court, the UP Chief Ministers Office (CMO) informed on Wednesday.

Gangster Sanjeev alias Jeeva was fatally shot inside the court premises after being brought in for a hearing.
Later, the police confirmed that the gangster succumbed to his injuries.

“A three-member SIT, including Mohit Agarwal, ADG Technical; Joint CP, Lucknow, Nilabja Chaudhary and Ayodhya IG Praveen Kumar, has been constituted to investigate the incident,” read an official statement from CMO.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Lucknow, Rahul Raj said, “Sanjeev Jeeva was shot at today and succumbed to his injuries. Two of our constables also sustained injuries but are out of danger. They are currently under treatment. I’ve been told that the assailant has been arrested.”

Meanwhile, lawyers staged a protest outside Lucknow Civil Court in the wake of the firing incident.

“A child was also injured in the incident and was admitted to a trauma centre,” said Agarwal.

“A criminal, identified as Sanjeev Jeeva, was shot today. Two police officials, who were escorting him to the court, also sustained injuries. A child was also injured in the incident and was admitted to a trauma centre,” Upendra Kumar Agarwal, joint commissioner of police, Law and Order, Lucknow, said.

Lucknow District Magistrate, Surya Pal Gangwar informed that the girl, who was injured in the incident, was stable and undergoing treatment.

“Sanjeev alias Jeeva was shot dead at Lucknow civil court. The accused was arrested. A girl was also injured in the incident. Her condition is stable and she is receiving treatment. The investigation is underway,” said Surya Pal Gangwar.

The gangster was accused in the murder of BJP leader Brahm Dutt and was being brought to court for a hearing.

“DCP West and DCP Central reached the court premises after receiving word of the incident,” said Assistant Commissioner of Police Sunil Kumar Mishra. (ANI)

Probe Against Brij Bhushan To Be Completed By June 15: Anurag

After meeting with India’s star wrestlers Bajrang Punia and Sakshi Malik on Wednesday, Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur assured them that the ongoing probe against Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh will be completed by June 15 and a chargesheet will be submitted.

A six-time BJP MP, Brij Bhushan was booked by Delhi Police following allegations of sexual harassment.
Earlier, on Wednesday, wrestlers Bajrang Punia and Sakshi Malik reached Thakur’s residence in the national capital, responding positively to a call for discussion by the government on the demands and issues put forward by the grapplers during their protest.

“I had a long 6-hour discussion with the wrestlers. We assured them that the probe will be completed by June 15 and a chargesheet will be submitted. The next election for WFI president will be conducted by June 30,” the Union Sports minister said.

Speaking to reporters at his residence after holding parleys with the ace grapplers, Thakur added, “An Internal Complaint Committee of the wrestling federation will be constituted. It will be headed by a woman. We have demanded that all FIRs filed against wrestlers be withdrawn. They also requested that Brij Bhushan Singh, who has completed 3 terms (as WFI chief), and his associates be asked not to stand for the elections again. The wrestlers promised not to hold any fresh protests before June 15,” said Thakur.

Meanwhile, Bajrang Puina said the government assured that the police probe against the WFI chief will be completed before June 15.

“The government has assured us that the police investigation will be completed before June 15. We requested that all FIRs against wrestlers be taken back and he (Thakur) agreed to it. If no action is taken by June 15, we will launch fresh protests,” said Punia after meeting Thakur. (ANI)

Conditions Favourable For Monsoon Onset In Next 48 Hrs

Meteorological conditions are becoming favourable for the onset of monsoon over Kerala during the next 48 hours, India’s weather office India Meteorological Office (IMD) said in a statement on Wednesday.

IMD had in May predicted arrival of monsoon on June 4.
Southwest monsoon normally sets in over Kerala on June 1 with a standard deviation of about seven days.

The conditions are also favourable for further advance of monsoon into some more parts of South Arabian Sea, entire Lakshadweep, some more parts of Southwest, Central and Northeast Bay of Bengal and some parts of Northeastern states during the next 48 hours, the IMD said.

Monsoon is crucial specially for kharif crops dependent on rains. India has three cropping seasons — summer, kharif and rabi.

Crops sown during June-July and harvested in October-November are kharif. Crops that are sown during October and November and the produce harvested from January-March depending on maturity is Rabi. Crops produced between rabi and kharif are summer crops.

Meanwhile, severe cyclonic storm ‘Biparjoy’ over eastcentral and adjoining southeast Arabian Sea around Goa is likely to intensify into ‘very severe cyclonic storm’ during the next 12 hours.

“It is very likely to intensify into a Very Severe Cyclonic Storm during next 12 hours. It would move nearly northwards during next 24 hours and then north-northwestwards during subsequent three days,” IMD said.

Fishermen are advised not to venture in such cyclone-hit areas in Arabian Sea and those who are out at sea are advised to return to coast.

In other forecast, IMD said heat wave conditions likely to continue over Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana during next 4-5 days.

Heatwave is a condition of air temperature which becomes fatal to the human body when exposed, according to IMD.

The heat wave is considered if the maximum temperature of a station reaches at least 40 degree Celsius or more for plains and at least 30 degree Celsius or more for hilly regions. (ANI)

Gangster Sanjeev Jeeva was shot at inside the Lucknow Civil Court on Thursday.

According to the police officials, the assailant made his way to the court disguised as a lawyer.
The gangster was accused in the murder of BJP leader Brahm Dutt Dwivedi and was brought to court for a hearing.

Jeeva collapsed at the spot after being shot at while a police officer also sustained injuries.

DCP West and DCP Central reached the court premises after receiving word of the incident, said Assistant Commissioner of Police Sunil Kumar Mishra.

San Francisco-Bound Fliers: AI Ferry Flight Likely To Reach Russia Tomorrow

A ferry flight, which left Mumbai on Wednesday and is expected to arrive at Russia’s Magadan around 6.30 am on Thursday, will air-lift stranded Indian passengers to San Francisco, Air India said in a statement.

An Air India flight, headed to San Francisco from New Delhi, was diverted to Magadan on Tuesday after a technical issue with one of its engines.
To facilitate quicker updates to those concerned about the well-being of the stranded passengers at Magadan, Air India also opened a dedicated, round-the-clock hotline number.

“Air India has activated a dedicated, round-the-clock hotline: +91 124 264 1427,” the carrier said in a statement.

Further, in its statement, AI said, “Our ferry flight AI195 from Mumbai (BOM) to Magadan, Russia (GDX) is now airborne, and is expected to arrive at GDX at 0630 Hours (local time) on June 8, 2023.”

The ferry flight is carrying essentials in addition to a sufficient amount of food to cater to all passengers.

“An Air India team are on board the flight to provide any support that the passengers and staff at GDX may require. The ferry flight is carrying essentials in addition to a sufficient amount of food to cater to all passengers on the onward flight scheduled from GDX to San Francisco (SFO),” it read.

The aircraft operating the ferry flight will take all passengers and crew to San Francisco on June 8, 2023.

The flight with 216 passengers and 16 crew was diverted to Magadan, Russia (GDX) where it landed safely.

Earlier, Air India said in a statement it was in touch with the authorities at Magadan airport, which extended all necessary cooperation and support to the passengers upon the flight’s touchdown in the Russian city.

“We can confirm that all passengers were eventually moved to a makeshift accommodation, after making sincere attempts to accommodate passengers in hotels locally with the help of local government authorities,” Air India added in its statement. (ANI)
