Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel

Bhupendra, Cabinet Ministers Visit Ram Mandir

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and his cabinet colleagues visited Ram Mandir in Uttar Pradesh’s Ayodhya on Saturday.

CM Patel, ministers of the Gujarat state cabinet, speaker Shankar Chaudhary and the Chief Whip, among others offered prayers to Ram Lalla at Ayodhya on Saturday.

The delegation led by CM Patel reached Ayodhya on Saturday morning.

Speaking after his visit, CM Patel said the visit to the temple was a fortunate and emotional moment for him. The Chief Minister said that PM Modi’s perseverance and commitment ensured the inauguration of the Ram temple.

CM Patel further said that the construction of the Ram temple is specially a proud occasion for the Gujarati community as the consecration of Ram Lalla was done in the presence of PM Modi.

To facilitate ease of travel for pilgrims from Gujarat visiting the temple, the Gujarat government has allocated Rs 10 crores in this year’s budget for constructing the Gujarat Yatri Bhavan, the CM said.

The Yatri Bhavan will be constructed at a total cost of Rs 50 crores, he said.

He also thanked Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for providing land for the Yatri Bhavan and the arrangements made to facilitate pilgrims visiting the holy city, particularly by the special Astha Train service from Gujarat.

The CM said the divine consecration of Ram Lalla in the ancient city of Ayodhya under the leadership of PM Modi marks the beginning of a new era in the country. He expressed confidence that the Ram temple would turn out to be a temple of vision, philosophy, and guidance for the country and help establish Ram Rajya in the coming years.

Speaking about the Ram temple movement and its subsequent conclusion, the Chief Minister said that it was the resolution of every Hindu that a grand Ram temple must be built at Ayodhya.

The dream of Hindus was fortunately fulfilled by PM Modi as he led the ground-breaking and consecration ceremony of the historic temple, he added.

The CM also expressed his gratitude to the Supreme Court for removing the obstacles that had hindered the temple’s construction for centuries. He credited the leadership of PM Modi for swiftly initiating the construction work by establishing the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra that worked tirelessly to ensure the temple consecration on January 22 this year.

The Chief Minister said that the resolution of the devotees across generations has been successfully realized under PM Modi’s leadership.

After darshan, the Chief Minister presented the replica painting of the historical event of Shabri Mata and Lord Ram as a gift to the trustees of the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple Trust, a post on CM Patel’s X mentioned.

Speaking to ANI after the visit, Gujarat Minister Rushikesh Patel said, “In the coming years, Ayodhya will not only become a centre of cultural heritage but it will also significantly contribute to the tourism sector in Uttar Pradesh and the country. Religious tourism is also developing in the country.”

Earlier on February 20, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and his cabinet colleagues visited Ayodhya to have a darshan of Ram Lalla.

CM Dhami along with his cabinet colleagues Satpal Maharaj, Premchand Aggarwal, Subodh Uniyal, Dr Dhan Singh Rawat, Rekha Arya and Rajya Sabha MP Naresh Bansal reached Jolly Grant Airport from where they left for Shri Ayodhya Dham.

Earlier, the Arunachal Pradesh Cabinet, led by Chief Minister Pema Khandu on February 6, visited the Ram temple in Ayodhya.

The delegation, comprising 70 people, including cabinet ministers, MLAs, and officials, was given a guard of honour at Maharishi Valmiki Airport upon their arrival.

The ‘Pran Pratishtha’ of Shri Ram Lalla at Ayodhya’s historic temple was held on January 22, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi performing the Vedic rituals, led by a group of priests. (ANI)

Bhagwant Mann

SAD Refutes Allegations Levelled By Bhagwant Regarding Sukhvilas Resort

A day after Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann levelled serious allegations against the Chief of Shiromani Akali Dal Sukhbir Singh Badal, accusing him of exploiting state resources for personal gain through the Sukhvilas resort project, the SAD has hit out at the CM, challenging him to prove his claims.

Terming the chief minister’s allegations as a “pack of lies”, SAD general secretary Parambans Singh Romana said on Friday that it is clear that these allegations have been levelled purely to ‘divert attention from the manner in which the CM has backstabbed the farmers and their cause and are in line with the hit-and-run tactics adopted on various occasions when cornered’.

Asserting that each and every allegation of the chief minister was a “lie” and that he would have to face a defamation suit in case he did not apologise for the same, Parambans Romana said, “Mr. Bhagwant Mann’s claims that a tailor made policy was made to extend tax incentives to Sukh Vilas and that the same were revoked when the resort was completed are a naked lie.”

He further claimed that the truth of the matter was that the incentives were given under the investment policy of the Invest Punjab department and that the policy was in force even today.

Asserting that anyone establishing an industry in Punjab was eligible for these incentives, Romana said, “In fact, the current incentives are more than what Sukh Vilas received”.

He also detailed that eight hotels and 56 industries had received incentives under this policy in Mohali alone, besides around 600 in the state.

He clarified that incentives for eco projects were also in force and had not been revoked.

“The incentives in the new Punjab Industrial and Business Development Policy framed by the AAP government had increased the SGST exemption from 75 per cent for ten years to 100 per cent for 15 years and electricity duty from 100 per cent for ten years to 100 per cent for 15 years. This shows the chief minister is either completely ignorant about state incentives as well as the state industrial policy or is a habitual liar. Instead of indulging in such skulduggery, the chief minister should tell why despite a sharp increase in incentives, investments in the state had come down under his tenure and capital worth Rs 2.5 lakh crore had migrated to other states, including Uttar Pradesh,” Parambans Romana added.

Romana further said the chief minister’s contention that incentives worth Rs 108 crore had been given to Sukh Vilas in ten years was a “canard”.

“The chief minister claimed that an incentive of Rs 85.84 crore had been given to Sukh Vilas as a SGST/VAT refund. The actual figure is only Rs 4.29 crore. I challenge him to show receipts or the transfer of the Rs 85 crore refund to Metro Green, if any,” he added.

The SAD leader also alleged that Bhagwant Mann had also lied about the luxury tax and annual licence fee incentive refunds received by Sukh Vilas.

“The Luxury Tax was abolished by the Union Government since July 2017. Against a licence fee incentive of Rs 11.44 crore claimed by the chief minister, Metro Green availed of an incentive of only Rs 79.90 lakh,” he said.

Romana also debunked the chief minister’s allegation that the road connecting the main hotel (Pocket A) to tents (Pocket B) was constructed using government funds and showed receipts proving this road had been paid for by Metro Greens.

“Rs 68.13 lakh had been paid to the Mandi Board for this purpose,” he added.

Earlier on Thursday, Mann levelled serious allegations against the Badal family, accusing them of exploiting state resources for personal gain through the Sukhvilas resort project, claiming that policies were manipulated to waive off taxes amounting to Rs 108.7 crore, significantly harming the state’s financial health.

Mann detailed how the previous SAD-BJP government introduced an eco-tourism policy in 2009, allegedly to benefit Sukhbir Singh Badal’s luxury resort project on land that was originally a forest area.

He also accused the Badal family of using their political power to facilitate the construction of Sukhvilas, resulting in a substantial financial loss to the Punjab exchequer

The Chief Minister also highlighted how the resort benefitted from tax exemptions, including SGST, VAT, electricity duty, luxury tax, and annual licence fees, all of which were waived for a decade. (ANI)

Indian Coast Guard

Indian Coast Guard Upgrades Infra In Crude Oil Hub In Gulf Of Kutch

Amid growing security concerns in the maritime zones, the Indian Coast Guard has upgraded its security infrastructure in India’s crude oil hub in the Gulf of Kutch near Jamnagar where 70 per cent of Indian crude oil imports are received and major refineries, including that of Reliance are present.

A new jetty was inaugurated by Union Minister of State (MoS) for Defence Ajay Bhatt in the Vadinar area of Jamnagar, Gujarat, in the presence of Indian Coast Guard Chief Director General Rakesh Pal, which would allow the maritime force to deploy bigger vessels in the region along with quick response capability to counter any security issue there.

“This jetty is a major technological infrastructure. Since more than 70 per cent of the crude oil of the country enters this area, and if there is a big one of ours here, we would be ready to act. Today, the requirement of a jetty is fulfilled here. Our big ships will be deployed here by April 1,” Indian Coast Guard Director General Rakesh Pal told ANI.

He said that the new facility, in the form of the jetty, would also allow the Indian Navy to deploy its ships here if they wanted to do so as per operational requirements.

The Indian Coast Guard is going to deploy its pollution control vessel, ICGS Samudra Pavak, in the area where there are huge oil tankers present 24×7 around the year to fight oil pollution disasters or incidents.

The marine zone is also very sensitive in the area and the Indian Coast Guard also has its pollution control teams deployed here in significant numbers.

The Gulf of Kutch area is the biggest crude oil hub in the country on the western coast in Gujarat, with major refineries of Reliance Industries and Nayara Petroleum present here.

Speaking on the occasion, Union Minister of State (MoS) for Defence Ajay Bhatt said that the possibility of infiltration of anti-national elements into Indian territory poses a threat to national security and the economy, with potential implications for energy security in the Gulf of Kutch region, a major hub for crude oil coming through which 74 per cent of India’s crude oil passes via Vadinar and Kandla.

“This makes the area strategically important and requires 24×7 surveillance. The Vadinar Jetty has enhanced the operational capability of the Indian Coast Guard,” he said.

He further said that the Vadinar jetty built by ICJ will further add to the geo-strategic significance of the region.

He also mentioned that the jetty would provide berthing facilities to Indian Coast Guard ships during operational visits to other Coast Guard stations deployed in the Exclusive Economic Zone and International Maritime Boundary Line.

“It would enable ICG to operate in all weather conditions and deploy ships during emergencies to enhance coastal security operations and deployment along the International Maritime Boundary Line. In addition, this jetty can provide decking and berthing facilities to Indian Navy ships,” he said. (ANI)

The Prime Minister was addressing a public gathering in the Khunkul area of West Bengal’s Hooghly district.

“The TMC, in West Bengal, has introduced a new ‘model’ of corruption and crimes. They are encouraging corruption and crimes. “See, bundles of money are being recovered from the residences of TMC leaders, look what they have done! The government adopts every tool to stop central agencies from carrying out an investigation here. Let me ask you, should I let this loot continue? Doesn’t this money belong to you? I promise the people of West Bengal– yeh lootne walon ko lautana padega.(People who are looting will have to return it). Modi will not spare them,” said the PM.

BRS chief K Chandrashekar Rao

EC Warns Parties To Follow Model Code Of Conduct For Upcoming LS Polls

Taking note of the various trends and cases of plummeting levels of political campaign discourse in recently held elections, the Election Commission of India has issued further advisory to all political parties to maintain decorum and utmost restraint in public campaigning and raise the level of election campaigning to “issue”-based debate.

The poll body has also put the ‘Star Campaigners’ and candidates on a ‘notice’ in case of violations that followed the previously known methodologies during elections to avoid breaching the Model Code of Conduct.

The Election Commission will assess any indirect MCC violations as per advisory as a fair basis to rework the notices to be given in terms of time and content in issue in the forthcoming elections.

For the general election to the Lok Sabha and four state Legislative assemblies, all phases and geographical areas of the elections shall be the basis for determining “repeat” offences.

It may be recalled that Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar recently emphasised that political parties should foster ethical and respectful political discourse that inspires rather than divides and promotes ideas instead of personal attacks.

The Commission’s proactive advisory now formally sets the stage for ethical political discourse, and cuts clutter in the 2024 General elections. Commission’s methodical approach to MCC violations prepares ground for civilised campaigning in 2024 General Elections

While acknowledging the need to keep a balance between freedom of expression and level playing field, the advisory noted that the Commission has been following a self-restrained approach since the previous few rounds of elections, presuming that its notice would serve as a moral censure to the candidate or star campaigner.

The orders issued by the Election Commission are carefully crafted to ensure minimal disruption to campaigning activities, rather than outright prohibitions. However, the objective to check on the level of discourse, using MCC notices in a judicious way, akin to a moral censure, may not be misunderstood and repeated in the next election cycle.

Additionally, the advisory has acknowledged that the evolving landscape of information technology and social media platforms has blurred the lines between pre-MCC and the 48-hour silence period, leading to the persistent circulation of content across multiple phases of campaigning and even unrelated elections.

The Commission has urged all the political parties, their leaders, and the contesting candidates to remain within the confines of the Model Code of Conduct and the legal framework. It has been emphasised that any genre of surrogate or indirect violation of MCC and surrogate means to plumate level of election campaign will be dealt with stern action by the Commission.

Political party leaders designated as “star campaigners” under Section 77 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951, deliver speeches during significant political rallies.

It is essential to interpret this within the framework of harmonious and purposeful construction, as the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) and statutory provisions of the Act complement each other. Therefore, while enjoying the privileges granted by Section 77, star campaigners also bear the responsibility of upholding the highest ethical standards during election campaigns. (ANI)

Sandeshkhali TMC

Country Is Seeing What TMC Has Done With Sisters Of Sandeshkhali: Modi

Taking on the Mamata Banerjee government in West Bengal over the Sandeshkhali issue ahead of Lok Sabha polls, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said that the country is enraged over the treatment of the women in Sandeshkhali by the TMC government.

The Prime Minister was addressing a public gathering in the Khunkul area of West Bengal’s Hooghly district.

“The country is seeing what TMC has done with the sisters of Sandeshkhali. The whole country is enraged. The soul of Raja Ram Mohan Roy (social reformer) must have been pained by what happened in Sandeshkhali,” he said.

Without mentioning the name of TMC leader Sheikh Shahjahan, who has been accused of sexually assaulting and land grabbing by women in Sandeshkhali, PM said, “A TMC leader crossed all limits…The BJP leaders in the state fought for the respect and dignity of the women here. Yesterday, the police had to arrest him (TMC leader Sheikh Shahjahan).”

Further attacking leaders of the INDIA bloc, PM Modi said the leaders of INDIA alliance have been remaining tight-lipped on the Sandeshkhali issue.

He criticized the indifference of INDI alliance leaders, likening them to Gandhiji’s three monkeys.

.All the tall leaders of INDI alliance were silent on the Sandeshkhali incident. INDI alliance leaders were like the three monkeys of Gandhiji…Congress chief said- ‘Arey chhoddo, Bengal mein toh yeh sab chalta rheta hai’…” he said.

PM Modi urged people to reply to the ruling party of West Bengal by vote to every pain they have suffered while asking chief minister Mamata Banerjee whether the women of Sandeshkhali hold any importance to the TMC chief.

“‘Har chot ka jawab vote se dena hai’. Today, the people of West Bengal are asking their CM ‘Didi’- is the vote of some people more important than atrocities against women in Sandeshkhali?..

The PM further stressed that it is the guarantee of the Modi government that the ones who are looting the public will have to return every penny of it.

“Should I let the loot by TMC continue?…Meri guarantee hai ki jo lootne wale hain unko lautana padega. TMC government is the big hurdle in the empowerment of poor, farmers, youth and women,” he said.

Sandeshkhali in West Bengal’s North 24 Parganas district had been witnessing widespread protests against Trinamool Congress (TMC) strongman Shahjahan Sheikh this month as a section of women were seeking justice against alleged atrocities committed by the TMC leader.

A large number of women in Sandeshkhali had accused Shajahan Sheikh and his close aides of “land-grab and sexual assault” under coercion.

Shahjahan was arrested by West Bengal police on Thursday morning in connection with an alleged assault on ED officers during a raid in January earlier this year.

West Bengal’s Basirhat Court remanded Trinamool Congress (TMC) Sheikh Shahjahan to 10-day police custody on Thursday. (ANI)

“In the natural resources sector, we will invest over Rs 4,000 crore – and another Rs 600 crore to expand our presence in food processing, logistics and agri-logistics, and defence manufacturing,” he added.

“Currently, our presence in Madhya Pradesh spans a wide range of sectors – from roads, cement and natural resources to thermal power, renewable energy and power transmission. Our cumulative investment in the state amounts to almost Rs 18,000 crore – and we have created almost 11,000 employment opportunities across the state,” he added.

The two-day Investor Summit, named the Regional Industry Conclave, kicked off today in the city of Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh.

This initiative spans across 20 districts of the state, including Bhopal, Ujjain, and Indore. 56 projects are expected to attract investments exceeding Rs 74,000 crore, creating employment opportunities for over 17,000 individuals.

At present, investment proposals totaling Rs 74,711 crore have been agreed upon by 35 companies participating in the Industry Conclave. This figure is expected to rise further during the conclave. Over 800 investors are slated to attend the event, with 30 foreign delegates also joining. Rather than solely targeting major industrialists for MOU signings, the government is emphasising the actualization of as many projects as possible. Accordingly, priority is being given to companies and individual investors prepared to invest immediately. (ANI)
