Milind Deora Eknath Shinde

This Is Just Trailer: Shinde After Deora’s Induction To Shiv Sena

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Sunday said that the induction of former Union Minister and Congress leader Milind Deora in his party was just a trailer and the full picture was yet to come, hinting at more influx from the opposition ahead of the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.

Speaking after Deora joined his party in the presence of several leaders of Shiv Sena in Mumbai, Shinde said that he performed an “operation” one and half years before and didn’t even have to make stitches and the operation was done.

“I am not a doctor. Despite not being a doctor, I performed an operation one and half year before…didn’t even have to make stitches and the operation was done. I won’t say anything more than this…This is just a trailer, film is yet to come in,” he said.

Shinde drew parallels between the sentiments expressed by Milind Deora on the current occasion and the emotions he himself experienced 1.5 years ago when he severed ties with then Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray.

“The feelings that you (Milind Deora) have in your mind today are the same that I had 1.5 years back. Such situations arise when a decision has to be made,” Shinde said.

Deora on Sunday joined the Shiv Sena in the presence of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde after quitting the Congress earlier in the day.

The former South Mumbai Lok Sabha MP joined the ruling party in a function in Varsha, the official residence of the chief minister, in the afternoon. During the ceremony, Deora affirmed his commitment to strengthen Shinde’s leadership further and praised his vision for Mumbai and the state.

“I am joining him to strengthen his hands further. Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah also have a vision for the country. I want to strengthen their hands as well through the Shiv Sena,” Deora said.

The Maharashtra leader ended his 55-year-old association with the party which went back to his father Murli Deora.

The Maharashtra leader ended his 55-year-old association with the party which went back to his father Murli Deora.

While emphasizing his commitment to Congress, Milind Deora said that he remained loyal to the party during its most challenging decade.

“I have been receiving a lot of phone calls since morning that why did I sever 55-year-old ties of my family with Congress party…I was loyal to the party during its most challenging decade. Unfortunately, today’s Congress is very different from the Congress of 1968 as well as that of 2004. Had Congress and UBT given importance to constructive and positive suggestions and merit and capability,

Eknath Shinde and I wouldn’t have been here. Eknath Shinde had to make a major decision, I had to make a major decision,” he said. (ANI)

From Times Square To San Francisco: Dozen Events Across US To Celebrate Pran Pratishtha Ceremony

As anticipation grows for the Pran Pratishtha ceremony of Ram lalla at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya on January 22, the excitement has transcended borders, with almost a dozen events planned across the United States to celebrate the historic occasion.

Mukesh Aghi, President and CEO of the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF), shared insights into the widespread enthusiasm, saying, “We have almost a dozen events across the United States where they will be celebrating Pran Pratishtha ceremony at Ram Temple (opening of the Temple) all the way from New York Times Square. If you go to Boston, you go to Washington, DC, you go to LA or San Francisco, there are events basically lined up, which will happen at the same time as the ceremony in India happens.”

Aghi emphasized that the Ram Temple event has a cultural, emotional, and religious connection with the Indian American community, reflecting a momentum that extends beyond geographical boundaries.

“But that shows that the culture of Indian Americans, which moved to the US, 5 million, is with them, and they are connected both emotionally, economically, and I would say, religiously. And that shows that momentum in the US also. So I think there will be a lot of celebration on January 22,” he added.

In a show of global significance, the Mauritian government announced a two-hour special break for Hindu public officers on January 22. This gesture aims to enable them to participate in local events marking the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ of Shri Ram Lalla in Ayodhya.

The Mauritian Cabinet, led by Prime Minister Pravind Kumar Jugnauth, issued an official statement on Friday that read, “(The) Cabinet has agreed to the grant of a one-off special leave of two hours on Monday, January 22, 2024, as from 1400 hours to public officers of Hindu faith, subject to exigencies of service, in the context of the inauguration of the Ayodhya Ram Mandir in India, which is a landmark event as it symbolises the return of Lord Ram in Ayodhya.”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to attend the ceremonial installation of the idol of Shri Ram Lalla on January 22. The ceremony, spanning seven days from January 16, will include Vedic rituals for the Pran-Pratishtha ceremony of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya.

Meanwhile, Taranjit Singh Sandhu, the Indian envoy to the US, emphasised the significance of the Ramayana epic during an event at the US Capitol Hill on Wednesday. The epic, he noted, serves as a bridge across geographies and imparts valuable insights into human relationships, governance, spirituality, duty, justice, sacrifice, loyalty, and the eternal struggle between good and evil.

Amid the euphoria and growing anticipation of the ceremony, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) of America organised an epic Tesla musical light show in Maryland, featuring over 150 cars on Saturday evening (local time).

The Tesla car light show, synchronised to the tunes of ‘Jai Shri Ram,’ showcased the creativity and enthusiasm of the Hindu community in celebrating the opening of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.

More than 40 billboards featuring Lord Ram and the Ram Temple have been erected in over 10 States in the United States. The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) US chapter collaborated with Hindus from various regions to spread the message about the grand ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony at the birthplace of Shri Ram Lalla in Ayodhya on January 22.

As the countdown to the opening of the grand Ram Temple in Ayodhya continues, these global celebrations underscore the universal resonance of the historic event. (ANI)

Did Rahul Think Of Nyay For 1984 Atrocities On Sikh Community: Puri

Reacting to the Congress’ Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri asked Congress leader Rahul Gandhi whether he had ever thought about justice (Nyay) for the people of the Sikh community who suffered atrocities in 1984.

“I want to ask Rahul Gandhi, what has he thought about the justice for the people of our community who suffered atrocities in 1984, did he ever go there and apologised to the people?… Rahul Gandhi is distracted and keeps saying anything. His people said things about Sanatana Dharma and this is unfortunate,” Puri told ANI on Sunday.

When asked about former Congress leader Milind Deora joining Shiv Sena, Puri said that he has known Milind Deora and his father Murli Deora for 30-40 years.

Army Pakistan Drone

Army To Deploy Drishti-10 Drones Near Pak Border In Punjab

The Indian Army’s surveillance capability along the border with Punjab is all set to get a boost as the force is set to deploy its Drishti-10 medium-altitude, long-endurance drones at a forward base in the Punjab sector.

The drones are expected to be inducted into the force in the next two to three months by the Indian firm Adani Defence.

The Indian Army has placed orders for two of these drones from the firm under emergency provisions that mandate that the systems supplied by vendors should be more than 60 per cent indigenous and should be under the ‘Make in India’ in Defence.

The Indian Army has plans to deploy these drones in the Punjab sector, where it can keep an eye on a large area, including the desert sector as well as the areas north to the Punjab, military officials told ANI.

The Indian Army is already operating the Heron Mark 1 and Mark 2 drones and has also placed orders for the Drishti-10 or the Hermes-900 drones under the last tranche of the emergency procurements approved by the government for the forces.

Adani Defence had signed a deal with the Israeli firm Elbit for the transfer of technology for the drones and stated that it has indigenized 70 per cent of the birds and will work to increase it further.

The Indian Army has also inducted more satellite communication-enabled birds from Israel, as it has a few Heron Mark 2 birds in direct deals with Israeli Aircraft Industries.

The drones were unveiled earlier this week by Indian Navy Chief Admiral R Hari Kumar and Director General Army Aviation Lt Gen Ajay Suri in Hyderabad.

The Indian Navy is going to position them in Porbandar to keep an eye on the maritime boundary with Pakistan as well as the high seas, as the BiRa have the capability to fly for over 30 hours and cover a distance of around 2,000 km in one go. (ANI)
