Alia’s Kashmir Pic From ‘Rocky And Rani…’ Goes Viral

Actress Alia Bhatt is currently in Kashmir for the shoot of Karan Johar’s directorial ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’.

If reports are to be believed, the team of ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’ recently headed to the picturesque valley to shoot a romantic song there.

A few pictures and videos from the sets went viral. In the image, Alia is seen wearing a red turtleneck sweater with a matching red blazer. She is also seen wearing a nose ring.

In one of the clips, Alia is seen shooting for the song while sitting in a car.

Helmed by Johar, ‘Rocky aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’ also stars Ranveer Singh, Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan and Shabana Azmi in lead roles.

The film marks the second collaboration between Ranveer and Alia and also the return of Karan as a director after ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ (2016).

KJo recently announced the new release date of his film with a sweet message.

He wrote, “They say ‘sabr ka phal meetha hota hai’, so to increase the mithaas of this incredibly special story – we’re coming with a whole lot of love! Rocky aur Rani ke parivaar ho rahe hai taiyyaar, aur ab dekhiye yeh anokhi kahani of pyaar! #RockyAurRaniKiPremKahani in cinemas 28th July, 2023.”

Initially, the movie was supposed to release on the eve of Valentine’s day this year.But later the makers pushed the date to April. Karan posted a long caption back then, “After 7 years, it’s time for me to return to my first home – the cinemas. I had the absolute honour of working with not one, but many illustrious actors on the set of my film. The familial nostalgic feeling of an ensemble cast, creating music that captivates the hearts and a story that runs deep to the roots of our family traditions.”

The film is all set to hit the theatres on July 28, 2023. (ANI)

Sushmita Backs Alia Bhatt Against Pesky Paparazzi

Sushmita Sen extended her support to Alia Bhatt after she publically called out paparazzi for “invading her privacy” and clicking pictures of her in her house.

On Tuesday, Sushmita took to Instagram stories and re-shared a note originally written by author Huma Tanweer, where she spoke about the media ‘frequently blurring the lines between personal and social lives’ of celebrities.

The note read, “In a world made smaller by the virtue of the internet, technology and social media, privacy is but a myth. And if you are a celebrity, you have it worse. With the paparazzi culture at its peak, there is little that can be kept hidden.”

“Guys, how can you catch someone off guard despite their repeated requests to the media for privacy? When are we going to draw the lines? Are we becoming nothing more than PR machinery? Our right to privacy cannot be in any manner violated. Media frequently blur the lines between personal and social lives. They substantially confuse the two and the outcome is obnoxious and unscrupulous. Since we all have a psychological need for privacy, there should inevitably be a dichotomy between a celebrity’s private and public lives. The media should refrain from intruding on this demarcation line. The practice of using such news to boost channel ratings and garner the most viewers is by no means appropriate,” the note stated.

Sushmita also tagged Alia, her sister Shaheen Bhatt and Mumbai Police.

Last year, Sushmita slammed the social media users calling her ‘gold digger’ after rumours surrounding her wedding with former IPL chairman Lalit Modi. She posted a picture with her daughters on Instagram and wrote, “I am in a happy place!! NOT MARRIED…NO RINGS…Unconditionally surrounded by love.”

After Alia’s post, Mumbai Police contacted the actress, asking her if she was willing to lodge a formal complaint.

A senior Mumbai Police officer has revealed that Khar Police have contacted the actress and asked if she wanted to file a written complaint against the photographer. The police have also assured her of proper investigation about the matter henceforth.

The senior police official also informed that Alia’s PR team is in touch with the media organisation whose employees were allegedly standing on the roof of another building to take her pictures.

Recently, Alia accused the paparazzi of invading her privacy by clicking some pictures of her in her house, without her consent.

She posted a collage of pictures of herself, taken inside the house without her consent. She wrote in the long note, “Are you kidding me? I was at my house having a perfectly normal afternoon sitting in my living room when I felt something watching me…. I looked up and saw two men on the terrace of my neighbouring building with a camera right at me! In what world is this okay and allowed?”

In her post, she also tagged Mumbai Police, after which the latter swung into action.

Tagging the Mumbai police, she added, “This is a gross invasion of someone’s privacy and it’s safe to say all lines were crossed today! @mumbaipolice.”

Apart from Sushmita, many actors came out in support of Alia. Anushka Sharma, Arjun Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor and Karan Johar took to Instagram to slam the paparazzi.

Alia hasn’t lodged any complaint with the police yet. (ANI)

With the bigwigs of Bollywood attending the Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards on Monday, veteran actor Rekha was seen sharing a special moment with Alia Bhatt.

For the star-studded gala event, while Rekha exuded elegance in her muted white and gold silk saree, Alia looked breathtaking in her sheer white saree with embroidered detailing. Rekha tied her hair in the signature sleek bun, with gajra tied over it.

In the videos from the red carpet of the Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards, Rekha and Alia bonded as they posed holding their awards for the paparazzi following their arrival.

Alia greeted the veteran actor and hugged her. Rekha even gave Alia a peck on her cheek. The Bollywood Queens seemed engrossed in a conversation.

The prestigious award ceremony that was held today evening honoured the talented artists for their outstanding contributions to Indian cinema. As per their official website, the festival celebrates the brilliance of the Indian film industry by making an effort to acknowledge and aid nascent projects by bringing them to mainstream audiences.

SRK Gives A Cute Name To New Mommy Alia

Actors Shah Rukh Khan and Alia Bhatt, who worked together in ‘Dear Zindagi’ in 2016, share a great bond.

Whenever they get a chance to talk about each other in public, the two always have good things to say. The stars’ fun banter on Twitter is proof of this fact.
After a long time, Alia and SRK interacted on Twitter during the latter’s #AskSRK session on Wednesday.

A social media user asked SRK why does Alia call him SR. The user’s question caught SRK’s attention and he replied, “Could mean sweet and romantic or maybe senior and respected or maybe just shah rukh.”

Alia was quick to respond as she clarified what she means when she calls the Badshah of Bollywood ‘SR’.

She tweeted, “More like sweet and respected …But from 25th Jan I’m going to switch to calling you Pathaan. See I’m so creative na.”

To Alia’s tweet, SRK gave a cute response. He called the new mommy in town Alia Bhatt “Lil Amma Bhatt Kapoor.”

“Done Lil one. And I am now going to call u Lil Amma Bhatt Kapoor,” he responded.

Apart from ‘Dear Zindagi’, Alia and SRK also have worked together on ‘Darlings’, which was released on Netflix in 2022. Alia co-produced the film with Shah Rukh.

SRK also praised actor Deepika Padukone during his #AskSRK session.

When a user asked him to describe Deepika in one word, he tweeted, “She is so nice it’s unbelievable…”

After ‘Loki’ star Sophia Di Martino, Robin Baker from the British Film Institute National Archive has heaped praise on actress Alia Bhatt over her performance in ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’.

Taking to Instagram, Robin penned a note saying he was moved by Alia’s acting skills in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s directorial. In his note, he also said that Alia should be nominated at the British Academy Film Awards and Oscars for her performance in ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’.
“If I was a member of BAFTA or the Academy (I’m not), this year I would be voting for Alia Bhatt as Best Actress for her performance in GANGUBAI KATHIAWADI (Sanjay Leela Bhansali, India, 2022). She plays a prostitute turned underworld brothel madam turned campaigner for sex workers’ rights, and the joy of her performance is how she grows as her character develops,” he wrote.

“The film is big, brash, sentimental, and hugely enjoyable, but Bhatt is sensational. There’s the additional pleasure of the film’s classic Hindi cinema references – from Gangubai’s love of Dev Anand to scenes of cinema-going in the 50s and 60s to the numerous film posters lining the streets around Bombay’s red light district. Sharing Robin’s note on her Instagram Story, Alia dropped a string of white heart emojis.

Recently, Sophia of Loki fame also penned a note of appreciation for Alia.

“Woahhh. What a turn @aliabhatt is going to take over the world in about a minute and a half #GangubaiKathiawadi” Martino wrote alongside the film’s poster,” she wrote.

Alia shared a screenshot of Martino’s post and thanked her.”This means so much from someone who is about to take over a whole multiverse,” Alia wrote. In her reply to Bhatt, Martino said, “Casual Fan Girling over here.”

‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’, which was released in theatres on February 25, 2022, revolves around a girl sold by a suitor into prostitution and how she becomes a prominent and celebrated figure in the underworld and Kamathipua red-light district. Last evening, Alia and Ranbir attended Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s engagement party in Mumbai and she was a sight to behold.

Karan took to his Instagram handle and posted a clip where Karan asks Roohi how is she to which she replies, “I am exhausted” then he moves the camera towards Yash where he can be seen relaxing on the couch and wearing big white sunglasses, Karan ask him, “What about you”, he suddenly replies, “Badshah” and Karan bursts into laughter and says, “Badshah”.
He wrote, “We have a rapper in the house!!! @badboyshah”.

As soon as he shared the post, Bollywood celebrities and netizens showered love on the video.

Taking to Instagram, Bipasha shared a post through which she announced the name of her daughter.

Makers of the upcoming comedy film ‘Cirkus’ unveiled a series of new posters of all the characters on Saturday.

Taking to Instagram, Ranveer Singh treated fans with a series of new posters.
In the posters, Ranveer could be seen in a double role and in full of madness mode. The posters also show actors Varun Sharma, Pooja Hegde, Jacqueline Fernandez, Siddhartha Jadhav, Sanjay Mishra, and Johnny Liver among others.

‘Cirkus’ marks the second collaboration of actor Ranveer and director Rohit Shetty, in a full-fledged role after ‘Simmba’.

Based on the 1960s era, the film also marks Ranveer’s first double role of his career.

The film is said to be inspired by William Shakespeare’s Comedy of Errors, which revolves around two sets of identical twins who were accidentally separated at birth.

Meanwhile, the ‘Ram-Leela’ actor will be also seen in Karan Johar’s next directorial ‘Rocky aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’ alongside Alia Bhatt, Jaya Bachchan, Shabana Azmi, and Dharmendra. The film is all set to release on April 28, 2023.
