Modi on 2024 elections

Bhaukla Gaye Hain: Modi Fires Salvos At ‘Opposition Unity’ Front

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday took a jibe at the opposition meeting held on June 23 saying that they have become flustered because the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is going to win the 2024 elections.

“Wo baukhala gaye hain (They have become flustered). So, they have started to hold meetings… A few days ago a photo session was organised by them (Opposition) and if you see the photographs, you will realise that every person in the photo has their own history of scams, Every photo is a guarantee of corruption and scams. Everyone together is a guarantee of at least Rs 20 lakh crore corruption. at least Rs 20 lakh crore corruption. Congress alone has carried out scams worth lakhs of crores. The RJD, TMC, NCP all of them have a long list of scams,” PM Modi said while addressing party booth workers here.
PM’s remarks come in the wake of a mega Opposition meeting held on June 23 in Patna where leaders from over 15 Opposition parties participated to forge opposition unity to take on the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.

“There was bitter opposition of the BJP… be it 2014 or in 2019, in both the elections, there was not as much restlessness as is being seen today. Today, they prostrate in front of each other and there was a time that they used to abuse each other all the time. Their restlessness shows that the people of the country have made up their minds to bring back the BJP in the 2024 elections. Once again in 2024, the massive victory of the BJP is certain, that is why all the opposition parties are in a panic,” he added.

He further said that the opposition has only one guarantee, that of scams and that he will ensure action is taken against every scamster.

“These parties have experience only with scams, and they only have one guarantee, which is of scams. The country has to decide if it wants to accept this guarantee. And here is Modi’s guarantee and that is –to take action on every scammer,” PM Modi said.

Without naming Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Lalu Prasad Yadav, the PM said leaders of the opposition parties had headed to Patna to take lessons of being in jail from “experienced” people.

“You have heard, when a criminal returns to his village from jail, people come to him eagerly to know his experience of jail. Leaders of the opposition party also need that type of experience as they know that they are under scanner and for this, what better than Patna,” PM Modi further said.

The BJP has also come down heavily on the opposition meeting chaired by Bihar CM Nitish Kumar in Patna terming it a “photo session”.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on June 23 had said, “Today a photo session is underway in Patna. They (the opposition) want to challenge Prime Minister Narendra Modi and NDA. I want to tell them that PM Modi will form his government in the 2024 Lok Sabha Polls with more than 300 seats,” Shah, who arrived in Jammu on a two-day visit today said. (ANI)

We Aren’t The Ones Who Sit In AC Rooms And Issue Fatwas: Modi

Ahead of the Madhya Pradesh assembly election to be held later this year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said that Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) booth workers are its biggest power as they make sure to reach out to the people at the grassroots level in order to make the party the biggest in the country.

“BJP’s biggest power is its workers. They have made the party the largest in the country. I thank JP Nadda for organising this event today through which I am able to virtually address around 10 lakh booth workers of the BJP virtually. No such virtual programme has ever taken place in the history of any political party,” PM Modi said while interacting with BJP booth workers in Bhopal.
These workers have been selected from all the states through a process defined by the party president JP Nadda via the Namo App.

For 10 days, these workers will interact with boot-level BJP workers in election-bound states and share their experiences and best practices.

The exercise is being done to activate the party workers at the lower level five months before the upcoming assembly elections.

PM Modi further said that Madhya Pradesh played a significant role in making the BJP the biggest party in the world.

“We are not the workers who sit in the air-conditioned rooms and issue fatwas. We go to the people and remain determined round the clock,” Modi added.

Owaisi Slams Modi Over ‘No Discrimination To Minorities’ Remarks

All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Saturday took a swipe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his recent on religious minorities in the country during his maiden State visit to the United States.

To a specific question during a joint press briefing alongside US President Joe Biden, PM Modi denied discrimination against religious minorities in India.

However, Owasi, on Saturday, countered PM Modi’s claim saying there were several instances of discrimination against minorities, including the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), which was passed by the Centre.

“The Prime Minister of India took questions for the first time in 9 years and to a specific question, he claimed there was no discrimination against religious minorities in India. As many as 300 churches were burnt in Manipur. Isn’t that discrimination? The CAA was formulated on the basis of discrimination. The BJP has 300 ministers of which there is not a single Muslim. You (BJP) ended the Maulana Azad fellowship. These are examples of discrimination. There is discrimination,” Owaisi told reporters here.

Also invoking former US President Barack Obama’s interview with CNN during PM Modi’s first State to the US, the AIMIM chief said, “When our PM was in the US, former President Barack Obama, in an interview, said the targeting of religious minorities in India was not in the interest of a country, which has been practising democracy for so long. What does this imply?”

Taking a further jibe at PM Modi, Owaisi said, “PM Modi makes tall claims at press conferences abroad but backtracks on them back home in India?”

To a question on measures his government is willing to take to improve the rights of minorities in the country, PM Modi said, “Democracy is India’s spirit, it runs in the veins of its people and they live democracy in their daily lives”.

“We are a democracy and as President Biden said India and America both have democracy in our DNA. Democracy is in our spirit and we live it and it’s written in our Constitution…So no question of discrimination on the grounds of caste, creed or religion arises,” PM Modi said at the joint press conference with President Biden.

He added that his government functions in accordance with the Constitution, which was founded on democratic ideals and principles.

“Democracy is our spirit, it runs in our veins. We live in a democracy and the country’s founding fathers gave it the shape of a Constitution. Our government works in accordance with the Constitution. We have proved that democracy can deliver,” PM Modi said.

“When I say democracy can deliver, there is no scope of discrimination on the basis of caste, creed, religion, or gender. When we talk of democracy, if there are no human values, no humanity, and no human rights, then it is not democracy. And when you talk of democracy, accept democracy and when we live in a democracy, there is no scope for discrimination. We go by the principles of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayaas’. People, regardless of caste, creed and religion, have access to benefits provided by the government. There is no discrimination on the basis of religion, caste, age, geography,” he added. (ANI)

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) JP Nadda on Thursday slammed Congress party and said the whole world praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi while the Congress called him a snake, illiterate, chaiwala.

“The whole world praises PM Modi but Congress calls him a snake, illiterate, chaiwala. Today there is an economic slowdown in America, Europe, and Australia but India’s economy is standing strong,” BJP national president said in Jharkhand.
Earlier in May, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge had compared PM Modi to a “poisonous snake”.

“PM Modi is like a ‘poisonous snake’. You might to check if it’s poison or not. But if you lick it, you’re dead,” Kharge had said at an election rally.

Gita Press for Unmatched Contribution

Shah Praises Gita Press For Unmatched Contribution

Amid a war of words between the Bharatiya Janata Party-led Central government and opposition parties over Gandhi Peace Prize selection, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday said that India’s glorious ancient Sanatan culture and scriptures can be read easily today only because of “unmatched contribution” from Gita Press.

Taking to Twitter, Shah said that conferring Gandhi Peace Prize 2021 on Gita Press is an honour for the work being done by it.
“If India’s glorious ancient Sanatan culture and scriptures can be read easily today, it is due to Gita Press’s unmatched contribution. Conferring Gandhi Peace Prize 2021 on Gita Press is an honour of the work being done by it,” Shah said in a tweet.

The Gandhi Peace Prize for 2021 will be conferred on Gita Press of Gorakhpur, in recognition of its “outstanding contribution towards social, economic and political transformation through non-violent and other Gandhian methods, the Ministry of Culture said on Sunday.

Gandhi Peace Prize 2021, recognizes the important and unparalleled contribution of Gita Press, in contributing to the collective upliftment of humanity, which personifies Gandhian living in the true sense.

Established in 1923, Gita Press is one of the world’s largest publishers, having published 41.7 crore books in 14 languages, including 16.21 crore Shrimad Bhagvad Gita.

However, the Congress hit out at the Centre over its decision taken by the jury headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Congress leader Jairam Ramesh termed the decision a “travesty” and is like “awarding Savarkar and Godse”.

“The Gandhi Peace Prize for 2021 has been conferred on the Gita Press at Gorakhpur which is celebrating its centenary this year. There is a very fine biography from 2015 of this organisation by Akshaya Mukul in which he unearths the stormy relations it had with the Mahatma and the running battles it carried on with him on his political, religious & social agenda. The decision is really a travesty and is like awarding Savarkar and Godse,” he said in a tweet.

The statement issued by the Ministry of Culture said that the jury headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi unanimously decided to select Geeta Press, Gorakhpur for the Gandhi Peace Prize.

This award is given every year to those who follow the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi. It was started by the Government of India in 1995.

The recipients of the Gandhi Peace Prize get Rs 1 crore, a citation, a plaque, and an exquisite traditional handicraft, handloom item.

Speaking on the same, BJP leader Jitendra Singh said that the Gita Press is an affordable literature producer and is associated with the ethos of the country.

“Gita Press is associated with the culture of India, associated with Hindu beliefs, producer of affordable literature and those who used to say that the Muslim League was secular are accusing it…,” Singh said. (ANI)
