BJP My Guru RaGa

I Consider BJP My ‘Guru’: RaGa

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday said he considers the Bharatiya Janata Party as his “guru” (teacher) as the BJP shows him a roadmap and teaches him “what should never be done”.

Addressing a press conference, the Wayanad MP said, “I want them (BJP) to attack us aggressively, this will help the Congress party understand its ideology. I consider them (BJP) as my Guru, they are showing me the way and training me on what is not to be done.”
While talking about the Bharat Jodo Yatra which entered New Delhi on December 24 before taking a nine-day break, he said, “When I started this, I just took it as an ordinary yatra from Kanyakumari to Kashmir. Slowly we understood that this yatra has a voice & feelings.”

“The doors of Bharat Jodo Yatra are open for everyone, we are not going to stop anyone from joining us. Akhilesh ji, Mayawati ji, and others want “Mohabbat ka Hindustan”,” he said in an open invite to the other parties of the opposition ahead of the 2024 general elections.

Congress MP Rahul Gandhi’s mass contacting campaign, Bharat Jodo Yatra, was issued cautionary notes by the Centre amid a rise in COVID-19 cases across neighbouring countries.

So far, the Yatra, which started from Kanyakumari on September 7, has covered parts of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Maharashtra, and Haryana.

It is the longest march on foot by any Indian politician in the history of India, the Congress has claimed.

With this yatra, Rahul Gandhi aims to mobilize the party cadre and unite the general public against the BJP’s “divisive politics in the country”. (ANI)

Bihar Finance Min Slams Sushil Modi For Jet Remarks | Lokmarg

Bihar Finance Min Slams Sushil Modi For Jet Remarks

Bihar Finance Minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary on Thursday said that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sushil Kumar Modi’s remark on the purchase of a jet by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar shows the mentality of the BJP.

“You can understand what kind of mentality they (BJP) have. Earlier they had felt the need for it, but now when it has happened they feel that it’s done under pressure. If they had courage, they would have acknowledged that they too used to say it earlier,” Bihar Finance Minister Choudhary said on Sushil Modi’s remark in which he claimed the jet plane being purchased by the state government will be used for Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s dream of becoming Prime Minister in 2024.
Speaking to ANI, the BJP leader had said, “This 12-seater jet plane worth more than Rs 250 crore won’t be used in Bihar as the state has few runways, instead, it will be used for Nitish Kumar’s dream of becoming PM 2024, which anyway won’t be fulfilled. This plane is being purchased for him to travel across the country.”

Questioning the Bihar government’s decision to buy a jet plane, Sushil Modi further said that in Bihar there are only four runways (Patna, Darbhanga, Purnia, and Gaya), so there is no place for jets to land, then why is the government spending Rs 250 crore on it?

“Nitish Kumar didn’t buy it for 15 years and then why now? Are a helicopter and plane being gifted to Tejashwi Yadav?” asked Sushil Modi.

The BJP leader said that the Bihar government already has a plane that is operational.

He further said that the Bihar CM is doing this to make his face shine all over the country and to gift Tejashwi Yadav as there is no other purpose of buying it now.

“If you rent it, it will be much cheaper. In a poor state like Bihar there is no justification for spending Rs 350-400 crore on jet planes and helicopters,” said Sushil Modi.

The BJP leader said that the government does not have money to give to the kin of people who died because of spurious liquor but it has money to buy new aircraft.

“Nitish Kumar is refusing to give money to those who died of spurious liquor. The state government is saying that the condition of our treasury is bad. Our GST compensation has stopped but you are now buying jet planes to make your face shine and travel across the country which has no justification,” he added.

Earlier, on Tuesday, Additional Chief Secretary (Cabinet) S Siddharth said that the Bihar government has decided to buy a jet engine aircraft and an advanced helicopter to replace the faulty ones for the movement of top political executives and senior bureaucrats.

In the meeting, chaired by him, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar approved the civil aviation department’s proposal to purchase the new aircraft for long-distance travel and a helicopter in place of the outdated aircraft and faulty chopper for the government’s use. It was among the seven proposals that were discussed and approved by the Cabinet.

The old aircraft and helicopter will be used for training and tourism purposes after thorough repairs.

The process to purchase the new jet plane and the helicopter will start once the committee submits its report to the government. (ANI)

Govt Won’t Interfere In Religious Affairs Of Sikhs: Anil Vij

Emphasizing on earliest elections of the Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee, Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij on Wednesday said the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government does not intend to do politics over the religious affairs of Sikhs.

During the discussion regarding the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara (Management) Amendment Bill, 2022 in the state Assembly, Vij said, “Our government does not want to interfere in the religious management of Sikhs. Our intention is not to do politics on the issue of Sikhs. But we want the election process to start at the earliest and the elected representatives should form their Adhoc Committee at the earliest. Among the elected representatives, only one person will be made patron.”
The Haryana Sikh Gurdwara (Management) Amendment Bill, 2022 was passed in the Winter session of the state legislative assembly.

The Haryana Home Minister said that on July 14, 2014, the Congress government had brought this act but it lacked various aspects including the matter of elections.

Vij said the BJP government appointed Justice HS Bhalla as Commissioner to take further action regarding the Gurudwara management committee elections.

“The Opposition is questioning the appointment of Justice Bhalla while he has been deputed to conduct the elections at the earliest,” he said.

He said that elections will be held and the opposition should trust the people.

Referring to Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Vij said, “The RSS teaches nationalism, love, and equality and we keep only active people in the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee. I have full faith that the Sikh society will elect only those people who fulfill the conditions.”

The Minister said all the 41 members nominated by the government will elect their president, senior vice president, junior vice president, general secretary, joint secretary, and six executive board members of the committee.

“The first meeting shall be convened and presided over by an officer appointed by the government. After the formation of the new Executive Committee, the Ad-hoc Committee and the Executive Board will cease to exist. After the newly elected Haryana Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee assumes charge, the ad-hoc committee will hand over the charge to the newly elected committee. All the 41 members nominated by the government shall elect its President, senior vice president, junior vice president, general secretary, joint secretary, and six members who shall be the first members of the Executive Board of the Committee,” Vij said the Assembly.

The meeting will be organized and presided over by the officer appointed by the administration. After the formation of the new committee, the ad-hoc committee and the executive board will cease to exist. Provided that if the election under section 11 is not held within a period of 18 months, a new ad-hoc committee shall be nominated by the government for a period of 18 months or until the election is held, whichever is earlier, the minister said. CM Basavaraj Bommai

‘Not An Inch’ Will Be Ceded: Bommai On Border Row

Amid the ongoing Karnataka-Maharashtra border row, Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Tuesday said that not an inch of land will be ceded to Maharashtra.

Bommai said Karnataka is confident of getting justice as the States have been organised on the basis of the States Reorganisation Act 1956.
“Not an inch of Karnataka will be ceded to Maharashtra at any cost. The Karnataka government is fully committed to protecting every bit of land. States have been organised on basis of the States Reorganisation Act 1956. Maharashtra politicians are doing such things as their case pending before Supreme Court is very weak,” CM Bommai told reporters here.

Bommai’s remarks came against the backdrop of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly on Tuesday unanimously passing the resolution on the state’s dispute with Karnataka over border areas.

Karnataka CM said the resolution of the Maharashtra Assembly did not have any value and they are doing such things since their case pending before the Supreme Court is very weak.

“The resolution of the Karnataka Assembly is very clear and the State is clear in its stand which is constitutionally and legally valid. The people of both States are living cordially. The Maharashtra politicians are known for such tricks as they know well that their case is very weak. The Karnataka government is committed to Kannadigas living in the neighbouring state. We are right constitutionally and legally,” Bommai added.

Maharashtra Chief minister Eknath Shinde on Tuesday tabled a resolution in the state Assembly on the state’s dispute with Karnataka over border areas.

The state assembly unanimously passed the resolution which says that Maharashtra will fight the pending case in the Supreme Court with full strength for the inclusion of each and every inch of 865 villages including Belgavi, Karwar, Nipani, Bidar Bhalki in Maharashtra.

The resolution also condemned the Karnataka administration for its anti-Marathi stand in the border area.

According to the resolution the Maharashtra government will stand behind the Marathi people in border areas and will go for a legal fight in the Supreme Court to ensure that these areas become a part of Maharashtra.

The Central Government should urge the Karnataka Government to implement the decision taken in the meeting with the Union Home Minister and the government should be given the understanding to guarantee the safety of the Marathi people in the border areas, the resolution read.

Shiv Sena (UBT) president and former Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray on Tuesday demanded that the disputed areas be declared as Union Territory.

Speaking to reporters in Nagpur, Thackeray said, “We supported today’s resolution. Whatever happens in favour of Maharashtra, we will support it. But there are some questions. For over two years, people (living in border areas) have been demanding to include them in Maharashtra. What are we doing about that?”

Thackeray stated that the Opposition stands in support of the resolution.

“Today government replied that the disputed area cannot be declared as a Union Territory as said by Supreme Court in 2008. However, the situation is not the same now. The Karnataka government is not following it. They are doing an Assembly session there and renamed Belagavi. So we should go to Supreme Court and ask SC to declare it as UT,” added Thackeray.

Karnataka Congress president DK Shivakumar condemned the Maharashtra Assembly resolution and called it a political gimmick.

“There is Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in both States and in the Centre. There was no need to pass the resolution. It is done because of elections. We know how to protect our people. They might speak Marathi but live in Karnataka. We condemn this resolution,” Shivakumar told reporters.

Meanwhile, the Karnataka legislature said that the state’s stand over the border issue is a settled one and not an inch of land will be given to the neighbouring state.

Notably, the border dispute between Maharashtra and Karnataka dates back to the implementation of the State Reorganization Act, of 1956. The then Maharashtra government had demanded the readjustment of its border with Karnataka.

Following this, a four-member committee was formed by both states. The Maharashtra government had expressed willingness to transfer 260 predominantly Kannada-speaking villages, but the proposal was turned down by Karnataka. Both governments later approached the Supreme Court to expedite the matter. (ANI)

BJP Lashes Rahul Over Comparisons With Lord Ram | Lokmarg

BJP Lashes Rahul Over Comparisons With Lord Ram

BJP lashed at Congress leader Salman Khurshid on Tuesday for comparing Rahul Gandhi with Lord Rama. BJP National Spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia on Tuesday said that the Congress can do any kind of politics to get votes.

“It is in the DNA of the Congress party. If they want votes, they can do any kind of politics and this is the reason behind Salman Khurshid comparing our adorable deity Lord Shri Ram with such a person (Rahul Gandhi) who is out on bail and the people of India will give him the answer,” said Gaurav.
Saying that it is complete sycophancy comparing a person who is out on bail on the charges of corruption with Lord Ram, the BJP spokesperson said that this in itself shows that there is no dearth of sycophancy in the Congress party.

“The victory of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s ideology is clearly visible. This is the same Congress which used to say that Lord Ram is imaginary,” he said.

“It is very clear that the Congress leaders won’t hesitate to do politics only for the sake of votes. It is in the DNA of Congress party leaders,” he added.

It is not wrong to call Rahul Gandhi a Hypocrite Hindu, said Gaurav. “When elections come, he becomes a hypocrite Hindu,” teased Bhatiya.

“Why did PV Narasimha Rao or Sitaram Kesari not get proper respect? Whether it is Iron man Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel or Dr. BR Ambedkar or Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, no one was given their deserved respect by the Congress,” alleged the BJP spokesperson.

He said, “Dr. BR Ambedkar and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel received Bharat Ratna in 1990 and 1991. However, Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi were given Bharat Ratna by their own cabinets. Even Rajiv Gandhi also got Bharat Ratna in 1991.”

He also said that it shows that Rahul Gandhi indulges in the politics of hypocrisy and it would be better if he thinks about the ideals of Atal Bihari Vajpayee. (ANI)

BJP's Yaqoob Appeals Kashmiri Pandit Employees To Return To Valley | Lokmarg

BJP’s Yaqoob Appeals Kashmiri Pandit Employees To Return To Valley

BJP leader Malik Yaqoob on Monday appealed to fear-stricken Kashmiri pandit employees to return to the valley and assured them of full protection of their lives.

Speaking to ANI, Malik Yaqoob from Srinagar said, “They (Kashmiri Pandits) do not need to fear. Such kinds of threats keep coming. We have faced a lot of threats so far. We have been enduring these threats for the last 30 years”.
“Several workers of the Bharatiya Janata Party were martyred. But we are the citizens of this nation. We have made sacrifices for this nation. We are even ready to sacrifice our children for this nation. We are ready to sacrifice our life for this nation,” Yaqoob said.

Yaqoob was responding to threats allegedly received by Kashmiri pandits from TRF, a terror organization.

‘I appeal to employees of the pandit community to return to Kashmir. The people of Kashmir stand behind you. The Sikh community is with you. Every person is with you. There is no need to fear,” he added.

Yaqoob claimed such threats are a part of the propaganda of Pakistan.

‘Kashmiri Pandits have to show some courage. These threats are just another propaganda of Pakistan. It is a conspiracy not only of Pakistan but of several countries. It is on the agenda of Pakistan which is responsible for killings in Kashmir. Many innocent people including pandits and Sarpanches have been killed. I salute their sacrifices,” Yaqoob added.

The BJP leader assured Kashmir pandit employees that the administration of Jammu and Kashmir is standing with them.

“The BJP government is with you. LG administration of Jammu and Kashmir is with you. Every Muslim in Kashmir is wishing to see you performing your duty. To see you residing at your place of accommodation whether it is in colonies or anywhere,” he said.

“It is not just TRF, but other terror organizations like Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba that have killed people in Kashmir. If we get bogged down by fear, we would not able to walk out. The more you fear, the more you will grow weaker,’ he added.

Malik added that Kashmir is in a state of war fuelled by Pakistan for the last 30 years

“It is not India of 1962. Today we can challenge countries like the USA, China, and Russia. So, you do not need to fear anyone. Kashmir is in a state of war started by Pakistan for the last 30 years. It is the duty of the administration of Jammu and Kashmir and the police to give you protection, he added. (ANI)

BJP Accuses Rahul Of Demoralising Army | Lokmarg

BJP Accuses Rahul Of Demoralising Army

Bharatiya Janta Party on Saturday lambasted Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over his ‘Chinese soldiers beating up Indian Army personnel in Arunachal Pradesh’ remark and said he should tell the country when will he leave behaving like ‘Jaichand’, a king seen as a traitor in many historical accounts.

BJP spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia said at a press conference that when the soldiers were displaying bravery and courage along the LAC with China, Rahul Gandhi was denting their morale.
“As Indians and as Bharatiya Janata Party, we are proud of the Indian Army. The soldiers who are beating the Chinese Army, showing them courage, why at that time India’s ‘Jaichand’ Rahul Gandhi is trying to break the morale of the Army,” Bhatia said.

Rahul Gandhi’s remarks that “Chinese soldiers are beating up Indian Army personnel in Arunachal Pradesh” has drawn widespread and sharp criticism from several BJP leaders.

Rahul Gandhi had accused the Centre of “sleeping” while China makes “offensive preparations” across the Line of Actual Control (LAC) days after the Chinese Army’s attempt to change the status quo was thwarted by the Indian Army in the Tawang sector of Arunachal Pradesh

Bhatia said India has the bravest army in the world and the country is diplomatically capable.

“Let me tell Rahul Gandhi that this is not the India of 1962. Not a single inch of India’s land is under anyone’s control and no one has the courage to take it. We have the bravest army in the world, we are diplomatically capable. In such a situation, it is not possible that anyone can occupy even an inch of our land,” he said.

“Rahul Gandhi should tell the nation when will he leave his character or ‘Jaichand’. Replying to a question in Parliament in 2007, the then Congress-led government had said that 43,180 sq km of land came under illegal occupation of China during Congress rule,” he added.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh had told Parliament earlier this week that Chinese troops had attempted to transgress the LAC at Yangtse in the Tawang sector of Arunachal Pradesh in a bid to “unilaterally change the status quo”, but were given a firm and resolute response forcing the Chinese side to retreat.

He said the face-off led to a physical scuffle causing injuries to a few personnel on both sides but “there were no fatalities or serious casualties” to Indian soldiers.

“Our forces are committed to protecting our territorial integrity and will continue to thwart any attempt made on it,” he said. (ANI)

When Will India Have 'China Pe Charcha': Kharge

When Will India Have ‘China Pe Charcha’: Kharge

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Saturday slammed the central government over the “Chinese build-up” on the borders and asked when will the nation have “China Pe Charcha?”

In a tweet, Kharge emphasised the Chinese build-up in Doklam and said that it was “threatening” India’s ‘Siliguri corridor’. He also said that the matter is of utmost concern now.

Kharge took to Twitter and said: Chinese build-up in Doklam up to “Jampheri Ridge” is threatening India’s strategic “Siliguri Corridor” — the gateway to the Northeastern States! This is of utmost concern for our National Security! @narendramodi ji, When will the nation have . . . “CHINA PE CHARCHA”?

Leader of Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge was among 17 Opposition leaders who raised the issue to hold a detailed discussion on the clash when the House assembled on Wednesday and Deputy Chairman Harivansh allowed ‘Zero Hour’ so that parliamentarians could raise their issues.

As the Opposition’s demand to hold the discussion on the India-China border clash was not allowed by the Chair, the 17 parties staged a walkout.

The MPs demanded the suspension of ‘Zero Hour’ to have a discussion on the issue which needs immediate measures to combat such aggressions and protect India’s interests along the international border.

The clash near Yangtse along the LAC in the sensitive sector occurred on December 9 amid the over 30-month border standoff between the two sides in eastern Ladakh.

Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on Friday accused the Centre of “sleeping” while China makes “offensive preparations” across the Line of Actual Control (LAC).

Gandhi, during a press conference in Rajasthan, had flagged a “clear threat from China” and claimed that the neighbouring country is “preparing for war” and alleged that the Centre is “hiding and not accepting it”.

“There is a clear threat from China. The government is trying to hide it and ignore it. But that threat cannot be ignored or hidden. China is making offensive preparation on the side of Ladakh and Arunachal Pradesh. The Indian government is in slumber. It doesn’t want to hear it. China is preparing for war, not for an incursion. If you see the pattern of their weapons, they are preparing for war. Our government is hiding it and is not accepting it,” Gandhi said.

However, Gandhi’s remarks invited huge backlash from the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party which strongly condemned the statement for “demoralising” the Indian Army.

The BJP today hit out at Rahul Gandhi for his remark and said Congress should immediately expel him from the party.

BJP National spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia addressing a press conference in New Delhi said, “Being an Indian Bharatiya Janata Party is proud of the Indian Army, we are proud of our Army.

The soldiers who are beating the Chinese army on the border, are showing their strength. Why is ‘Jaichand’ Rahul Gandhi doing the work of breaking the morale of our army?

BJP President JP Nadda also condemned Rahul Gandhi’s remarks.

“Rahul Gandhi’s statement works to demoralize our Army; no matter how much it is condemned, it is less. Indian army is a symbol of bravery and valour. We know that the Communist Party of China had signed MoU with the Congress party,” Nadda said. (ANI)

What can I say?: Nitish On Raids On Tejashwi

If You Consume Liquor, You’ll Die: CM Nitish On Hooch Tragedy

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday told media persons waiting for his reaction on the 39 deaths so far in the Chhapra hooch tragedy that if “someone consumes spurious liquor, they will die” as he came under heavy pressure on his alleged failed excise policy.

Defending the liquor ban in Bihar, he said that the state’s prohibition policy has benefitted several people and a large number of people have given up drinking alcohol due to his measures.

“The liquor ban has benefitted several people. A large number of people have given up alcohol…This is good. Several people have happily accepted this. But there are some troublemakers. I have told officers to identify the actual troublemakers and nab them,” Kumar told the media in Patna.

“I have told officers that they shouldn’t capture the poor. People manufacturing liquor & carrying on liquor trade should be caught,” Kumar said.

The chief minister also said: “I am ready to give Rs 1 lakh each to people to start their own work. We’ll raise the amount if needed, but nobody should get involved in the liquor business.”

“Last time, when people died due to spurious liquor, someone said they should be compensated. If someone consumes spurious liquor, they’ll die – an example is before us. This should be condoled, those places should be visited and people should be explained about the fallout of their action,” Nitish Kumar said.

After the first death late Tuesday in a Chhapra hospital, the toll reached 39 on Thursday.

In its wake, Masrakh Station House Officer (SHO) Ritesh Mishra and Constable Vikesh Tiwari were suspended on the recommendation of Marhaura Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Yogendra Kumar.

Bihar Excise Minister Sunil Kumar on Wednesday vowed strict action against culprits responsible for deaths.

“Process of filling an FIR is underway. I have spoken over the phone with SP,” Sunil Kumar said.

The sale and consumption of alcohol were banned in Bihar by the Nitish Kumar government in April 2016.

Hours after the first few deaths were reported from Chhapra, the opposition on Wednesday attacked the Bihar Chief Minister in the state assembly leading to Nitish Kumar losing his cool and screaming back at the BJP leaders.

The Janata Dal-United chief slammed the BJP for protesting the deaths as Leader of Opposition Vijay Kumar Sinha questioned the state’s liquor ban policy since 2016.

Nitish Kumar lost his temper in the House and screamed at the BJP MLAs ”Sharabi ho gaye ho tum…(you are drunk)”

Protesting against the incident, Bihar opposition lawmakers also staged a demonstration outside the state assembly later. (ANI)
