Anil Remembers Sridevi On Her Birth Anniv

Actor Anil Kapoor on Sunday remembered late actor Sridevi on the occasion of her 60th birth anniversary.

Taking to Instagram, Anil shared a throwback picture with the late actor on his stories which he captioned, “Happy birthday, Sri…Your legacy lives on, and your impact on the world of cinema is everlasting. You are deeply missed and forever cherished!”

Anil and Sridevi have worked together in several hit films like ‘Mr India’, ‘Judaai’, ‘Laadla’, ‘Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja’, ‘Heer Ranhja’, ‘Lamhe’, and ‘Mr Bechara’ among others.

Sridevi was married to Anil’s brother Boney Kapoor and is survived by two daughters Janhvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor.

Born as Shree Amma Yanger Ayyapan in 1963, she’s known for her iconic roles in Hindi movies like ‘Chandni’, ‘Lamhe’, ‘Mr India’, ‘Chaalbaaz’, ‘Nagina’, ‘Sadma’ and ‘English Vinglish’, among many more. The Padma Shri awardee also made a mark with her extraordinary performances in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada films.

Her last film was ‘Mom’, for which she also received the Best Actress National Award, posthumously.

Sridevi breathed her last on February 24, 2018, in Dubai, where she had gone to attend a family function.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Anil recently gathered a lot of praise for his performance in the show ‘The Night Manager Part 2’ in which he was seen alongside Aditya Roy Kapur.

He will be next seen in director Siddharth Anand’s upcoming aerial action thriller film ‘Fighter’ alongside Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone and in director Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s next action film ‘Animal’ alongside Ranbir Kapoor. (ANI)

Kamal Haasan Joins Cast Of ‘Project K’

Legendary actor Kamal Haasan is the new addition to the action thriller film ‘Project K’ which also features Prabhas, Deepika Padukone and Amitabh Bachchan.

Taking to Instagram, Prabhas, on Sunday shared an announcement video of the ‘Vikram’ actor joining the cast of ‘Project K’.
He captioned the video, “A moment that will be etched in my heart forever. Honored beyond words to collaborate with the legendary @ikamalhaasan sir in #ProjectK. The opportunity to learn and grow alongside such a titan of cinema is a dream come true moment.”

Helmed by Nag Ashwin, the film is all set to hit the theatres on January 12, 2024.

Confirming the news, Haasan said in an official statement, “50 years back when I was a dance assistant and an assistant director the name Ashwini Dutt loomed large in the production sector. Both of us are coming together after 50 years. A brilliant director from our next generation is at the helm. My co-stars MPrabhas and Deepika are also of that generation . I have worked with Amit Ji before . Yet every time it feels like the first time. Amit Ji keeps reinventing himself. I am also emulating that inventive process. I am eagerly waiting for Project K. Whatever position the audience place me at, my primary quality is that I am a film buff. That quality will keep applauding any new attempt in my industry. Let mine be the first applause for Project K. With our director Nag Ashwin’s vision I am sure that applause will echo across our country and the world of cinema.”

Director Nag Ashwin also shared his excitement about Kamal Haasan joining the cast of the film. He said, “For an actor like Kamal sir, who has done so many iconic roles, it’s a huge honour to attempt to do something new. We are all super excited and privileged that he agreed to come onboard and complete our world.”

‘Project K’ is a bilingual film shot simultaneously in two languages i.e Hindi and Telugu across various locations. The film will also mark Deepika’s debut in the Telugu film market.

Sunny, Bobby Set Major Brothers’ Goal At Karan’s Reception

Sunny Deol’s son Karan Deol got married to his longtime girlfriend, Drisha Acharya on June 18. The couple hosted a reception in the evening for family and friends. Many celebrities attended the event, including Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh, Kapil Sharma and his wife Ginni Chatrath.

Fans are going crazy about videos and images that have been circulating online. A video of Bobby Deol and Sunny Deol hugging each other on stage while Sonu Nigam sang an enduring song is grabbing the eyeballs.

Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol gave the ultimate brothers’ goal during Karan Deol’s and Drisha Acharya’s wedding reception. While Sonu Nigam sang the song, ‘Chhalkaye Jaam Aayiye Aapki Aankho Ke Naam’, they both can be seen performing on the romantic track and hugging each other while sharing happiness.

Sunny Deol dancing to the song ‘Main Nikala Gaddi Lekar’ at the sangeet ceremony also went viral on social media.

Several celebrities of the B-Town attended Karan’s wedding ceremony. From superstars Salman Khan, Aamir Khan to veteran actors like Prem Chopra and Shatrughan Sinha were also spotted at the event.

Abhay Deol, who was also present at the ceremony took to his Instagram handle to share a picture in which he can be seen dancing with Bobby and Sunny in the baraat.

He wrote in the caption, “”One of my favorite moments captured by @tinadehal from the wedding. Me dancing with my brothers @iamsunnydeol and (a hint of) @iambobbydeol with my sister @ritu.fineart in the background. Almost like a still from a movie!”

Ranveer and Deepika were also spotted enjoying the reception and they can be seen posing with Dharmendra and Kapil Sharma and his wife in one of the pictures.

The couple chose traditional attire for the reception celebration. While Deepika is dressed in a black anarkali, Ranveer wore a short white sherwani, matching stole, and sunglasses.

They both also can be seen enjoying the songs at the party in one of the videos that went viral on social media.

On Sunday, Karan Deol, the son of Sunny Deol, married Drisha Acharya, who had been his girlfriend for many years.

The wedding celebration took place at Taj Lands End in Mumbai. The entire family from the groom’s side arrived in style for the marriage function.

While Drisha looked stunning in a red lehenga with a patterned design, the groom chose an off-white sherwani and a matching turban. She completed her outfit with a mangtika and gold neckpiece.

Since the wedding was during the day, most of the guests were seen wearing bright colours.

Sunny Deol, the father of the groom, looked stunning in a green kurta and a red Punjbai-style turban. Dharmendra was spotted dancing on the tunes of dhol and enjoying his grandson’s wedding to the fullest.

Sharing the first official wedding pictures of the newlyweds, actor Sunny Deol wrote on Instagram, “Today I gained a beautiful daughter.Bless you my Bachas. God Bless!”

Karan also posted wedding picture on his Instagram handle and wrote in the caption, “You are my today and all of my tomorrows..The beginning of a beautiful journey in our lives. We are overwhelmingly thankful for the abundant blessings and well wishes that surround us!”

Veteran actor Anupam Kher also congratulated the couple and shared pictures from the ceremony. He tweeted, “Congratulations dearest #Karan and #Drisha Deol for your marriage! My best wishes to the entire #Deol family. They are one of the most wonderful, genuine and kind people in the Hindi film Industry. I feel so much love for them! After the wedding, the couple hosted a reception in the evening which was attended by many celebrities. For the reception, Karan chose a tuxedo for the occasion, while Drisha wore a golden-beige shimmering lehenga-choli.

Karan and Drisha have been in a relationship for a long time now. Drisha is a fashion designer.

Shah Rukh’s ‘Pathaan’ To Be Released In Russia, CIS Nations

The craze for Shah Rukh Khan-starrer ‘Pathaan’ has not ended yet. The film is now ready to release in dubbed versions across Russia and CIS countries including Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.

As per a statement shared by YRF, the dubbed version will release on July 13 across 3000+ screens.

Helmed by Siddharth Anand, ‘Pathaan’ also starred Deepika Padukone and John Abraham in the lead roles. It is the highest-grossing Hindi film of all time.

On receiving abundant love for Pathaan, SRK tweeted, “ITS NOT THE BUSINESS….ITS STRICTLY PERSONAL”. Deepika Padukone is missing no chance to impress her fans and make us proud. The ‘Pathaan’ actor has added another feather to her cap as she got featured on a leading international magazine’s cover page.

Deepika took to Instagram and shared a picture of herself on the ‘Time’ magazine.
She makes sure to leave you impressed with her fashion statement every time.

In the picture, she gave out boss lady vibes in a stunning beige pantsuit. She paired a blazer and pants with transparent heels to make her outfit do the talking.

She left her hair flowing and her make-up game on point.

As soon as the picture was uploaded, the actor’s fans and industry friends dropped congratulatory messages in the comment section.

Fashion designer Masaba Gupta wrote, “Amazing Deepika you are so damn hardworking. Congratulations!”

It plays during a pivotal scene in ‘RRR’, a movie about the friendship between real-life Indian revolutionaries Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem. On Monday, she took a stroll down memory lane and shared a string of pictures of her BTS moments from the Oscars.
Taking to Instagram, Deepika shared the post which she captioned, “And the rest is history…#oscars.”

In the pictures, Deepika could be seen preparing for her speech backstage in her beautiful black gown.

Soon after she dropped the pictures, fans swamped the comment section with red hearts and fire emoticons.

The final countdown has begun. Ahead of the 95th Academy Awards, Deepika Padukone, who has been selected as one of the presenters this year, flew to the US. The pictures and videos of Deepika at Mumbai airport surfaced online on Thursday night.

The ‘Gehraiyaan’ actor was dressed in all-black. She chose a turtle-neck black sweater, teaming it up with a black blazer. The nerdy black glass added to the glam quotient of Deepika. The ‘Padmaavat’ actor posed for the paparazzi stationed at the airport. She smiled, and greeted them saying ‘Thank You.’ Even Deepika shared a gratitude emoji on the post of a paparazzo, who shared the video on Instagram.

Deepika took to Instagram on March 3 to share a post with the names of all the presenters.

The list also includes Dwayne Johnson, Michael B. Jordan, Riz Ahmed, Emily Blunt, Glenn Close, Troy Kotsur, Dwayne Johnson, Jennifer Connelly, Samuel L. Jackson, Melissa McCarthy, Zoe Saldana, Donnie Yen, Jonathan Majors, and Questlove.

‘Pathaan Has Injected a Fresh Lease of Life Into Bollywood’

Priyanka Gupta, a socialite and social worker from Lucknow, says the Shahrukh Khan-starrer ticks all the boxes to qualify as a super-duper entertainer

I am very choosy about the movies to be watched in a theatre. Therefore, before buying tickets for Pathaan, I checked its reviews in the media, sought responses of my friends and the occupancy in the cinema halls before placing my buck on it. I am happy to say that the ticket-money was well spent; the film just blew my mind.

Though I am not a die-hard fan of Shahrukh Khan, from the terrific response of the audience in the cinema halls, I can tell you that the Hindi audience was long waiting for an entertainer like Pathaan. This SRK-entertainer has lived up to the expectations and the hype created before the release. Be it the star power, action sequences, choreography, twist & turns, or the high pitch of Rashtravad (nationalism), the movie ticks all the boxes to qualify as a paisa-wasool blockbuster.

The movie’s never-before kind of success came as a big relief for the cinema hall owners, who had been reeling under financial hardships since Covid times. Even after the theatres had reopened, most of the movies were run of the mill and could not book adequate profit. Not just theatre owners, it has also brought much-needed succour for the struggling Bollywood. Many critics had begun to write off Bollywood studios in favour of the South Indian cinema.

Looking into the gloom that prevailed for the past couple of years, Pathaan comes as a breath of fresh air. I think the negative campaign by various outfits against Shahrukh Khan may have also worked in its favour. The audience is not a fool. If the movie gives us the bang for our buck, we shall watch it. I am glad that wisdom prevailed over negativity. All those Boycott Bollywood, saffron bikini, body-shaming messages finally fell flat on their face.

Deepika Padukone is not the only star who has worn a bhagwa color outfit in a song. I can count any number of songs on fingertips where heroines had put on clothes of similar colour in far more ‘outrageous’ settings with bawdy lyrics. But Team Shahrukh has to face bigger scrutiny for reasons that I would not like to discuss or elaborate here.

The story line is entertaining, so is the background music, action sequences (however unbelievable) and a fast pace. Watching it on a large screen was an engrossing experience. I particularly found the Salman Khan’s cameo as one of the movie’s finest moments; Sallu’s entry set the audience on fire. But overall, it was a collective fare. Shahrukh Khan, Deepika, John Abraham, along with other co-stars, delivered a complete massala hit that Bollywood is known for.

The bottom line is audience will decide for themselves which movie to watch and which movie to abandon. Those who are trying to set an agenda in the field of entertainment will not succeed. To quote a cinematic line for the occasion, Indian audience only wants three things from a movie: Entertainment, entertainment and… entertainment.

Deepika Padukone In Happy Tears Over ‘Pathaan’ Success

Bollywood actor Deepika Padukone on Monday got emotional while speaking about the massive box office phenomenon that ‘Pathaan’ has become, during a success event of the Shah Rukh Khan starrer in Mumbai.

Deepika, Shah Rukh, John Abraham and director Sidharth Anand were present during the ‘Pathaan’ success event which was organized as the film has set the box office on fire globally by earning Rs 542 crore gross worldwide in 5 days.

On Sunday, Deepika visited Mumbai’s iconic Gaiety Galaxy theatre. However, she disguised herself by hiding her face under a black hoodie and a black bask. During the event, the actor was asked by the host about her reaction when visiting the theatre to witness the audience’s response to ‘Pathaan’.

Replying to this while wiping happy tears from her eyes, an emotional Deepika said, “It felt amazing. We had been doing indoor screening for days but finally, I got a chance to get out. I wanted to go on the day of the film’s release but that could not happen. To experience this kind of love, especially when what the world has been through, the fact that a movie like this that can bring people together, that it can bring so much joy and celebration that it almost feels like a festival.”

“When you work honestly and with integrity when you put your head down and just keep going. Then when you see this love and appreciation and get rewarded like this, then it all seems worth it,” she continued.

Meanwhile, talking about her chemistry with Shah Rukh, Deepika said, “In all the films that we have worked on, we have a very good relationship which reflects on screen. There is a lot of respect between us.”

‘Pathaan’ has received a massive response from viewers and SRK’s fandom globally has warmly welcomed the actor to his movie after four years. The film also entered the Rs 100 crore club on its opening day.

With its opening weekend record, it also created two new feats – the fastest Hindi film to breach the Rs 300 crore worldwide barrier and secondly, becoming the first Hindi film to collect over 300 crores gross on its opening weekend.

‘Pathaan’ is on a record-breaking run at the domestic and overseas box office as it collected Rs 542 crore gross worldwide in just 5 days. (ANI)
