Rakhi Files Complaint Against Husband Adil

Actor and ‘Bigg Boss’ contestant Rakhi Sawant, on Tuesday, filed an FIR against her husband Adil Durrani, alleging he has taken money and jewellery from her.

While talking to media outside Mumbai’s Oshiwara police station, Rakhi claimed, “He came to beat me at home in the morning, I immediately called the police. He frequently visits my home and gives threats. Even today he came to beat me at home, and I was scared. He said that you defamed me in the media.”
Police have filed an FIR under IPC Sec 406 and 420 against Adil Durrani and have summoned him for interrogation.

Rakhi, last month, revealed that she had married Adil in 2022. Taking to Instagram, she shared a photograph of their purported marriage certificate which shows that the wedding took place on May 29, 2022.

Meanwhile, Rakhi also posted an Instagram reel video where she is seen garlanding Adil and reshared a video of her with Adil and what seems to be a Qazi officiating a ceremony.

Since Rakhi broke the news of her wedding on social media, several reports surfaced claiming that Adil has denied getting married to Rakhi.

Photos of the duo have been doing the rounds on the Internet.

Few days after that, Adil took to his Instagram account and confirmed his marriage with Rakhi. (ANI)

US Embassy Announces Initiative To Cut Visa Wait For Indians

The United States on Sunday announced new visa initiatives for Indians including special interviews for first-time applicants and greater strength of visa staff across the country to reduce wait times for first-time visa applicants.

As part of this initiative, the United States opened consular operations across the country to accommodate applicants who require in-person visa interviews.

“On January 21, the U.S. Mission in India launched the first in a series of special Saturday interview days, as part of a larger effort to reduce wait times for first-time visa applicants. The United States Embassy in New Delhi and Consulates in Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata and Hyderabad all opened consular operations on Saturday to accommodate applicants who require in-person visa interviews,” the US embassy said in a statement.

“In the coming months, the Mission will continue to open additional slots for appointments to take place on select Saturdays,” the statement added.

The embassy said that the US government has implemented remote processing of interview waiver cases for applicants with previous U.S. visas. “Between January and March 2023, dozens of temporary consular officers from Washington and other embassies will arrive in India to increase processing capacity,” the statement added.

It also said the US State Department is also increasing the number of consular officers permanently assigned to the Embassy and Consulates.

“The U.S. Mission in India released more than 250,000 additional B1/B2 appointments. Consulate General Mumbai also extended its weekday operating hours to make space for additional appointments,” the statement added.

Consulate General Mumbai currently adjudicates the most visa applications in India and is one of the largest visa operations in the world, the embassy said.

“Our consular teams across India are putting in the extra hours to meet the needs of international travelers and bring down wait times,” said Mumbai Consular Chief John Ballard. “This is part of a Mission wide effort to find innovative solutions to facilitate travel to the United States.”

The COVID-19 pandemic resulted in profound reductions in the Department’s visa processing capacity, and many of its embassies and consulates were at times only able to offer emergency services.

“As travel restrictions have been lifted, the U.S. Mission to India has made it a priority to facilitate legitimate travel and adjudicated over 800,000 nonimmigrant visas in 2022, including record numbers of both student and employment visas. In every other visa category, interview wait times in India are at pre-pandemic levels or lower,” the US embassy said.

“By this summer, the U.S. Mission in India will be at full staffing, and we expect to be processing visas at levels from prior to the COVID-19 pandemic,” the embassy added. (ANI)

A day later, her ex-boyfriend and co-star from the show, Sheezan Khan was arrested on charges of abetment to suicide. If reports are to be believed, Khan and Tunisha broke up 15 days ago. Sharma was reportedly hospitalized after she suffered anxiety attacks a few months ago. The actress suffered from depression and anxiety around 2018 as well.

No suicide note was recovered at the spot by police.

Earlier on Monday, the deceased actor’s mother accused Sheezan Khan, the prime suspect in her daughter’s death case of cheating on her and breaking his promise to marry her as she urged the police not to spare him.

We wish for everyone to come and offer their last prayers to the departed soul.” Her cremation will take place at Mira Road cremation ground. The last rites ceremony will begin at 3 pm in Bhayander East.”

Tunisha Sharma was found dead on the sets of a TV serial. According to Waliv Police, they received information that after the tea break, the actress went to the toilet and when she did not come back, the police broke the door open and found that she had hanged herself.

No suicide note was recovered at the spot by police.

Earlier on Monday, the deceased actor’s mother accused Sheezan Khan, the prime suspect in her daughter’s death case of cheating on her and breaking his promise to marry her as she urged the police not to spare him.

Vanita Sharma accused her daughter’s former boyfriend of cheating on Tunisha and said Sheezan broke up with the 21-year-old despite promising to marry her.

Releasing a statement, Tunisha’s mother said, “Sheezan cheated on Tunisha. Started a relationship with her first, promised her of marriage and then broke up with her.”

“He (Sheezan) had involvement with another girl, while he was in a relationship with Tunisha,” she added.

“He used her for three-four months,” Tunisha Sharma’s mother said, adding that Sheezan should not be spared.

The ‘Ali Baba: Dastaan e Kabul’ actor had broken up with the actress 15 days before she was found dead inside a TV set toilet on December 24.

The police on Sunday said following the separation, she went into depression. She is said to have been under a lot of stress.

Tunisha Sharma’s former boyfriend Sheezan Khan has reportedly told police that he was “so disturbed by the atmosphere in the country that emerged after the gruesome murder of Shraddha Walkar” allegedly by her live-in partner, that Khan decided to end their relationship, sources said on Monday.

During his first day in police custody on Sunday, Sheezan told Waliv police that he ended the relationship with Tunisha after seeing repercussions emerging from the Shraddha Walkar case and told his former paramour that belonging to a different community stands in their way as did their age gap.

During interrogation, Sheezan further revealed that Tunisha had earlier also attempted suicide after they broke up. “Tunisha had recently tried to commit suicide a few days before her death, but at that time I saved her and told Tunisha’s mother to take special care of her,” police sources quoted Sheezan as saying.

On Sunday, a court in Vasai, Maharashtra, sent actor Sheezan Khan to police custody for four days in connection with Tunisha Sharma’s alleged suicide case.

Waliv police produced Khan in the court after his arrest in the case for abetment to suicide. The case was registered against him under Section 306 of the Indian Penal Code.

Waliv police received information on December 24 that after a tea break, the actress went to the toilet and when she did not come back, the police were called.

The police broke the door open and found the actor hanging.

The police have sent the mobile phones of both Tunisha and Sheezan to the forensic lab so that the calls and chats between the two can be retrieved to understand what happened between the duo and what drove Tunisha to death after 15 days of breakup,” police sources said.

In another revelation, Waliv police said that Tunisha’s blood sample, ornaments, and clothes will be sent to Kalina Forensic Lab for forensic examination.

The police are now probing the reason behind her alleged suicide. (ANI)
