I Have No Problem If You Have A Child Without Marriage: Jaya Tells Navya

Veteran Bollywood actor Jaya Bachchan, recently during a podcast revealed that she doesn’t have any problem if her granddaughter Navya Nanda has a child without marriage.

Speaking with her granddaughter on the podcast ‘What the hell Navya,’ the ‘Sholay’ actor said, “During our time we couldn’t experiment and a relationship can’t last on love, fresh air, and adjustment.”
Jaya said, “People will find it objectionable coming from me but physical attraction and compatibility are also very important. In our times we couldn’t experiment but today the generation does and why shouldn’t they? Because that also is responsible for a long-lasting relationship. If there isn’t a physical relationship it’s not going to last very long. You can’t be lasting on love and fresh air and adjustment, I feel. It’s very very important.”

“Sometimes it’s a pity but a lot of the younger lot, of course, we never could, we couldn’t even think about it but the younger generation even after me, Shweta’s generation, Navya’s is a different ballgame, but they would feel guilty going through that experience and I think it’s very wrong. It’s okay and then you do things on the sly. If you had a physical relationship and you feel that still, my relationship otherwise not worked out you can be nice about it,” the veteran actor added.

Giving advice to the younger generation, the ‘Silsila’ actor said, “I’m looking at it very clinically. Since there’s a lack of that emotion, the romance today…I think you should marry your best friend. You should have a good friend, you should discuss and say, ‘Maybe I’d like to have a child with you because I like you, I think you’re nice, so let’s get married because that’s what society’s saying’. I have no problem if you have a child without a marriage also, I really don’t have a problem.”

Jaya talked about the topic ‘Modern Love: Romance and Regrets’ on the podcast along with her elder daughter Shweta Bachchan.

Meanwhile, on the film front, Jaya will be next seen in director Karan Johar’s upcoming film ‘Rocky aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’ alongside Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Shabana Azmi, and Dharmendra in the lead roles. (ANI)

UN Officials On Pak

Each Country Is Monitored By UN: UN Officials On Pak

Svetlana Martynova, Senior Legal Officer at the Counter-Terrorism Committee Executive Directorate (CTED), on Saturday said all countries are continuously monitored by UN bodies to ensure their compliance with the security council resolution, including on the counter-terrorism.

Answering a question on how the UN ensures compliance on countering terrorism in countries like Pakistan, she said, “Each country is monitored by us for its compliance with UNSC resolutions on all topics, including countering the financing of terrorism, assessment and its compliance on our side continue.”
“It takes the form of country visits, desk reviews, etc. We have dedicated desk officers that cover each country of the world. The monitoring and analysis are continuous,” she added.

Martynova said CTED works closely with Financial Action Task Force (FATF) and added that even when the country is delisted, “they are still being monitored through regional FATF-style body.”

This decision comes on the heels of Pakistan’s exit from the FATF’s ‘grey list. Though Islamabad managed to exit the list, the global watchdog stated that Pakistan would continue to work with the Asia/Pacific Group on money laundering to improve its counter-terrorist financing system.

India is hosting the two-day anti-terrorism meeting of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC). The ongoing meeting in Delhi is being held under India’s chair of the Counter-Terrorism Committee (CTC).

Speaking alongside Martynova, David Scharia, Chief of Branch, the UN Counter-Terrorism Committee Executive Directorate (CTED), said the focus of today’s UNSC meeting in New Delhi is global because the issue of technologies is global.

“There may be a concern in Pakistan, there can be a concern in Nigeria and there can be a concern anywhere in the world. But we are trying to come up with a global solution,” he added.

The head of the UN counter-terrorism body said the most important takeaway from the meeting is the fact that the UNSC under Indian chairmanship, takes issue with new and emerging tech as a point of main concern and focus of attention.

“It is likely to adopt at the end of the meeting, what will become the Delhi Declaration. If you read through, you’ll see an action plan of how UNSC CTC intends to take up commitments it takes upon itself in the next few months, what it’ll ask CTED and other entities in UN to do,” he added. (ANI)

Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai hits back congress

Malleshwaram Model School To Be Replicated Across State: Bommai

The Malleshwaram Model Schools will be extended to all the government schools across the State by providing modern facilities, said Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.

Speaking after inaugurating Malleshwaram Model School at 18th Cross Malleshwaram and Puneet Satellite works Stations here on Saturday, he said the satellites created by the students of Malleshwaram Model School being unveiled and naming it after the late Puneet Rajkumar are really a good move as a noble work is happening in the name of a deserving person.
“It is quite laudable that such a function is held on the first death anniversary of the great actor and it is like a sort of dedication to the great person. Let the popularity of the Malleshwaram school reach its peak. Puneet Raj Kumar was always known for experimenting with new things and was a man with a kind heart. Though he left this world at a young age he has left behind an indelible impression on the earth. Puneet had wiped out the tears of the poor and downtrodden by helping charitable trusts, educational institutions, Shakthi Dhama with a big smile. He will remain amongst them forever. The Malleshwaram School will take Puneet’s popularity to the sky through the satellite,” he said.

Bommai said education is very important and the 21st century is considered the century of knowledge. One must learn moral education and qualitative knowledge while learning. All have to learn science and math as they will be helpful in life. A strong foundation of language is needed to have a strong foundation in both science and math. The children have the right to question and they must exercise it. Teachers must learn and encourage the kids. Since the children have good grasping power they must be taught moral values, language, science and math as basics in primary education, and this will help in pursuing higher education.

The CM said children must think rationally and question why, whom, what, where, and how. This will help them to think logically. The mugging up of portions is not necessary. These five questions are the stairs to success. If the tough math was taught to four people they will not forget it all.

Sharing knowledge helps to store more knowledge. Seeing the kids will give them confidence that India has a bright future. Inquisitiveness and enthusiasm are very important for kids. One who creates curiosity and innocence among the kids is the real guru. There is a need for building more multi-purpose satellites and to do this the government will bear the cost of training and design.

Bommai lauded Higher Education Minister Dr.C.N.Ashwath Narayana who works as head of a family called Malleshwaram and said having a good heart is very important. Thinking about their children as kids is not correct and treating the kids of the entire constituency as his kids and developing the schools for their bright future is noteworthy. A lot of facilities are provided in this school and it is really a model for the entire state. This model will be extended to other government schools in the State, he added. (ANI)

Delhi Air Quality

Air Quality In Some Areas Of Delhi Falls Into Severe Category

Air quality in Delhi fell into ‘severe’ category with an AQI of 457 in the Anand Vihar area on Saturday and it was also recorded in the severe category in Noida, as per National Air Quality Index.

According to data from the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research (SAFAR), Delhi’s overall air quality was 381 in the ‘very poor’ category in the afternoon. In the Delhi University area, the air quality was at 399, also in the ‘very poor category.
On Mathura road, it was 380. In Gurugram it was 349 while Noida was worst with an AQI of 411 in the severe category.

Today morning the air quality in the national capital remained in the ‘very poor’ category with the overall air quality index (AQI) at 309.

Morning walkers, cyclists, and joggers working out near India Gate amid dipping air quality in New Delhi were seen affected due to the dip in the air quality.

“We’re from Gurugram. There is breathing difficulty and irritation in the eyes,” a member of a group of cyclists told ANI.

People felt this way because, according to the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research (SAFAR), the AQI in the overall Delhi region was in the ‘very poor category at 309.

“Local surface winds are 6 to 8 km/h (Max Temperature 32 deg C; Min 14-15 deg C) for the next three days that cause weak dispersion of pollutants. Peak ‘Mixing layer height’ during daytime (~1.0-1.5 km) leads to moderate vertical dispersion of pollutants,” read SAFAR’s official statistics.

The air quality watchdog also informed that strong winds at the transport level blowing from the northwest direction from stubble burning areas are likely to transport pollutants to Delhi and its share in Delhi’s PM2.5 is likely to increase further.

Environmentalist Vimlendu Jha told ANI that Severe category AQI is very dangerous for health and it affects even healthy people and seriously impacts those with existing diseases. (ANI)

Gujarat Announces Forming A Committee For Implementing UCC In State

Gujarat Home Minister Harsh Sanghavi on Saturday announced forming of a committee for implementing the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in the state.

The decision was taken in the cabinet meeting.
“Under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, CM Bhupendra Patel has taken a historic decision in the cabinet meeting today – of forming a committee for implementing the Uniform Civil Code in the state,” said Gujarat Home Minister Harsh Sanghavi.

Ahead of the upcoming Assembly polls in Gujarat, the state government announced to constitute of a panel to evaluate implementing the Uniform Civil Code in the state.

The committee is likely to be formed under a retired High Court judge.

Earlier the Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh governments had announced their decision to implement the Uniform Civil Code.

Uniform Civil Code is a proposal in India to formulate and implement personal laws of citizens which apply to all citizens equally regardless of their religion, gender, and sexual orientation.

Many political leaders have backed the UCC saying that it will bring equality to the country.

However, the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) has termed it “an unconstitutional and anti-minorities move”, and called the rhetoric for bringing the law an attempt by Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, and Central governments to divert the attention from the concerns of inflation, economy, and rising unemployment.

The Centre earlier this month told the Supreme Court that it could not direct Parliament to frame or enact any law on Uniform Civil Code in the country.

The Ministry of Law and Justice in its affidavit stated that the matter of policy is for the elected representatives of the people to decide and no direction in this regard can be issued by the Centre. “It is for the legislature to enact or not to enact a piece of legislation,” the ministry told the apex court.

Notably, in Bharatiya Janata Party’s 2019 Lok Sabha election manifesto, BJP promised the implementation of UCC if it comes to power. (ANI)

Doom Of Ex-Twitter Heads

I Predicted The Doom Of Ex-Twitter Heads: Kangana

Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut, on Friday, claimed that she predicted the doom of ex-Twitter heads long ago which came true.

Taking to Instagram, the ‘Dhaakad’ actor shared a post on her stories which she captioned, “Trending since morning I had predicted the doom of ex Twitter heads long ago…another prediction came true.”
Post that, the actor shared a long note and claimed that she has the power to predict things that will happen in the distant future and wrote, ” I always predict things that are yet to happen in distant future…some call my foresight X rays, some call them my curses and some call them witchcraft…For how long are we going to dismiss a woman’s genius like this..it’s not easy to predict the future it takes remarkable recognition and interpretation of human instincts also great observational skills…above all, it takes dissolution of one’s own likes and dislikes for the crystal clear objectivity to study the subject one wants to predict about.”

Ever since Elon Musk’s controversial takeover of Twitter, Kangana has been hoping that she will soon regain her suspended Twitter account.

In May 2021, Kangana’s Twitter account was ‘permanently suspended for repeated violation of Twitter rules. The suspension came after the actress had made an incendiary post, claiming that the victory of the Mamata Banerjee-led All India Trinamool Congress in the Assembly election of West Bengal had led to violence.

On Thursday, Musk became Twitter Inc’s new owner and reportedly fired top executives including CEO Parag Agrawal, Chief Financial Officer Ned Segal, and legal affairs and policy chief Vijaya Gadde.

In July, in a surprising turn of events, Elon Musk who had long been showing his interest to buy Twitter terminated the deal. The Tesla CEO did so by alleging that Twitter violated their mutual purchase agreement by misrepresenting the number of spam and fake bot accounts on its platform. After Musk put out the deal termination announcement, the market saw a sharp decline. Later, Twitter sued Musk accusing him of using bots as a pretext to exit a deal.

Meanwhile, on the film front, Kangana will be next seen in ‘Tejas’ and in the period drama film ‘Emergency’ which also marks her first solo directorial film. (ANI)

Jaishankar At UN counter-Terror Meet

Threat Of Terrorism Is Growing…Jaishankar At UN counter-Terror Meet

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Saturday highlighted the global threat of terrorism is growing and expanding, particularly in Asia and Africa, despite the UN Security Council’s (UNSC) best efforts to combat the “gravest threat to humanity”.

Addressing the UNSC’s special meeting of the Counter-Terrorism Committee in the national capital, Jaishankar said, “Terrorism remains the gravest threat to humanity. The UN Security Council in the past two decades has evolved an important architecture built, primarily around the counter-terrorism sanctions regime to combat this menace. This has been very effective in putting the countries on notice that had turned terrorism into a state-funded enterprise.”
“Despite this, the threat of terrorism is only growing and expanding, particularly in Asia and Africa, as successive reports of 1267 sanctions committee monitoring reports have highlighted,” he added.

India is hosting the two-day anti-terrorism meeting of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC). The ongoing meeting in Delhi is being held under India’s chair of the Counter-Terrorism Committee (CTC).

Jaishnkar told CTC members that their presence in Delhi at the special meeting demonstrates the importance that the UNSC member states and a wide range of stakeholders, place on this critical and emerging facet of terrorism.

“That the council is holding this special meeting of its counter-terrorism meetings in India, is also a product of the fact that counterterrorism has become one of the top priorities during our ongoing tenure in the security council,” he added.

Highlighting the flip sides of emerging technologies, Jaishnakar said technologies like virtual private networks, encrypted message services, and blockchains, have also thrown up new challenges for governments and regulatory bodies.

“The technologies have also thrown up new challenges for governments and regulatory bodies due to their potential vulnerability for their misuse by non-state actors, given the very nature of some of these technologies and the nascent regulatory environment,” the minister said.

“In recent years, terrorist groups, ideological fellow travelers particularly in open and liberal societies, and lone wolf attackers have enhanced their capabilities by gaining access to tech. They use tech, money, and ethos of open societies to attack freedom, tolerance, and progress,” he added.

Furthermore, Jaishankar said internet and social media platforms have turned into potent instruments in the toolkit of terrorists and militant groups for spreading propaganda, radicalization, and conspiracy theories aimed at destabilizing societies.

“Another add-on to the existing worries for governments around the world is the use of unmanned aerial systems by terrorist groups and organized criminal networks,” he added.

Lastly, Jaishankar announced that India will be making a voluntary contribution of half a million dollars to the UN Trust Fund for Counter Terrorism this year to augment the efforts of UNOCT in providing capacity-building support to member states in preventing& countering the threat of terrorism.
