The Civil Enclave at Kanpur Airport has been developed with a new terminal building by the efforts of the Airports Authority of India (AAI) with an aim to enhance passenger facilities and connectivity.

The new integrated terminal building will provide additional connectivity to this city, giving impetus to the overall growth of the region.

Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation, Road Transport and Highways General VK Singh, and Airports Authority of India Chairman Sanjeev Kumar were present on the occasion.

Chief Minister congratulated the residents of Kanpur for receiving the gift of the new Civil Enclave at the Airport.

Why Does Cong Hate Indian Traditions So Much?: Shah On Sengol

Training his guns at the grand old party, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that the ‘Sengol’ given to former Prime Minister Pandit Nehru was banished to a museum as a ‘walking stick’.

Shah in a series of tweets questioned and asked why Congress hates Indian traditions and culture.
“Why does the Congress party hate Indian traditions and culture so much? A sacred Sengol was given to Pandit Nehru by a holy Saivite Mutt from Tamil Nadu to symbolize India’s freedom but it was banished to a museum as a ‘walking stick’,” Tweeted Shah.

He further said that Congress needs to reflect on its behaviour as the Thiruvaduthurai Adheenam, a holy Saivite Mutt, spoke about the importance of the Sengol at the time of India’s freedom.

“Now, Congress has heaped another shameful insult. The Thiruvaduthurai Adheenam, a holy Saivite Mutt, itself spoke about the importance of the Sengol at the time of India’s freedom. Congress is calling Adheenam’s history BOGUS! Congress needs to reflect on their behaviour,” read his tweet.

While, Congress leader Jairam Ramesh said that there is no documented evidence of Mountbatten, Rajaji and Nehru describing this sceptre as a symbol of the transfer of British power to India.

“All claims to this effect are plain and simple — BOGUS. Wholly and completely manufactured in the minds of a few and dispersed into WhatsApp, and now to the drum-beaters in the media. Two of the finest Rajaji scholars with impeccable credentials have expressed surprise,” read his tweet.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a decision to adopt the Sengol as a national symbol of the Amrit Kaal. The new building of Parliament will witness the very same event, with Adheenam (Priests) repeating the ceremony and vesting the PM with the Sengol.

The same Sengol from 1947 will be installed by the Prime Minister in the Lok Sabha, prominently close to the Speaker’s podium. It will be displayed for the nation to see and will be taken out on special occasions.

Meanwhile, BJP National President JP Nadda said, “What connects most parties which are boycotting the inauguration of the new Parliament building?”

Nadda further said, “The answer is simple- they are dynasty-run political parties, whose monarchic methods are at loggerheads with the principles of republicanism and democracy in our Constitution. Those parties which are boycotting the Parliament’s inauguration lack any commitment to democracy because their sole aim is to perpetuate a select group of dynasties.”

“These dynastic parties, particularly the Congress and the Nehru-Gandhi dynasty, are unable to digest the simple fact that the people of India have placed their faith in a man hailing from a humble background. Elitist mindsets of dynasts are preventing them from logical thinking,” read his tweet.

“The people of India are seeing how these parties are putting politics above the nation. These parties will be punished yet again by the people for their partisan politics!,” read his tweet.

This comes after at least 21 opposition parties have decided to boycott the PM’s decision to preside over the inauguration ceremony instead of President Droupadi Murmu.

The opposition said that the inauguration of the building without President Droupadi Murmu “insults the high office of the President, and violates the letter and spirit of the Constitution”.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla are slated to dedicate to the nation the new Parliament building on May 28. (ANI)

Cong Indulged In Corruption In All Elements Of ‘Panchtatva’: BJP

Launching a scathing attack on the Congress party, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Ravi Shankar Prasad on Friday said that Congress party indulged in corruption in all five elements of the ‘Panchtatva’.

Addressing a press conference, the former Minister said, “What should I talk about–Adarsh scam, Bofors scam, 2G scam, Commonwealth, submarine scam to helicopter scam?”
The former minister said that our body is made up of five elements and Congress indulged in “corruption” in all five of them.

“I want to say this thing about Congress today. We talk about ‘Panchtatva’. Our body is made up of five elements: water, land, air, sky and fire. And the belief is that after death, a person gets back to these five elements,” he said.

The BJP leader added, “Congress party also believes in it with full honesty. So their leaders said that ‘Panchtatva’ can’t be respected until corruption is carried out in all five elements. And they ended up doing it. Commonwealth scam, Adarsh scam on land. They even penetrated the land with their Coal scam. 2G scam in air, helicopter scam in the sky, submarine scam in water”.

Further taking a jibe at the grand old party, he said that the Congress party’s grading is “4C”.

“There are multiple levels of grading. Congress has opted for four levels of grading for itself; cut, commission, corruption, and Congress. The Congress grading is 4C,” he added. (ANI)

Subramanian Swamy and rahul gandi

Rahul’s Passport: Swamy Says Application Devoid Of Any Merit

Former Rajya Sabha MP Subramanian Swamy has filed a reply in the Delhi Court, opposing Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s application seeking NOC for issuance of a fresh ordinary passport and submitted that the applicant has no-valid or effective reason for the passport to be issued for 10 years.

In the reply, it is submitted that “The application is devoid of any merit for issuance of Passport for 10 years”
Swamy further submitted that the court, may exercise the discretion to grant

permission after scrutinizing and analyzing all other correlated matters in deciding on the litigation of the Applicant in the broad spectrum of areas of justice and law.

Swamy further stated that at this stage, NOC for the passport for the applicant may not be more than 1 year and may be reviewed annually or as deemed fit by this Court.

“The right to hold a passport, like all other Fundamental Rights, is not an absolute Right and is subject to reasonable restrictions imposed by the Government in the interest of national security, public order, morality, and prevention of crime,” Swamy added.

On May 24, the Rouse Avenue Court of Delhi asked Subramanian Swamy to file his written submissions by Friday while hearing the plea for a fresh passport by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, an accused in the National Herald case.

Gandhi had moved the court seeking a ‘no objection certificate’ (NOC) to secure a fresh “ordinary passport” after having surrendered his diplomatic travel document upon his disqualification as an MP.

Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Vaibhav Mehta had observed that in the bail order, no restrictions were put on Gandhi’s travel and the court had rejected Swamy’s request for restrictions on his travel.

Also, after the relief was granted, Gandhi travelled several times without permission as there were no travel restrictions and the right to travel is a fundamental right, the judge observed.

Counsel for Gandhi, Advocate Tarannum Cheema who appeared along with advocates Nikhil Bhalla and Sumit Kumar sought the grant of the no objection certificate (NOC), saying there are no criminal cases pending against him.

“The applicant ceased to be a Member of Parliament in March 2023 and as such he surrendered his diplomatic passport and is applying for a fresh ordinary passport. By way of the present application, the applicant is seeking permission and no objection from this Court for issuance of a fresh ordinary passport to him,” the application

Rahul Gandhi’s Advocates submitted that there are no criminal proceedings pending and that travelling abroad is a fundamental right.

The applicant ceased to be a Member of Parliament in March this year following his disqualification as a member of Lok Sabha. He was convicted in a Surat court in a criminal defamation case. He surrendered his diplomatic passport and decided to apply for a fresh ordinary passport.

“By way of the present application, the applicant is seeking permission and no objection from the Court for the issuance of a fresh ordinary passport to him,” stated Rahul Gandhi’s lawyers.

The lawyer also added that the complainant’s request to put restrictions on travel was rejected in 2015. Moreover, since the bail order, the applicant has travelled several times without permission as no permission was required and there are no travel restrictions.

In 2015, the Court while granting bail to the applicant Rahul Gandhi in the National Herald case did not put any condition on travel for the applicant and others as well, Rahul Gandhi’s lawyers noted.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday moved Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court seeking no objection for the issuance of a fresh ordinary passport to him.

The National Herald case is being argued in a Delhi court and was filed by Subramanian Swamy against Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and some persons associated with them. (ANI)

SC Grants Interim Bail To Jain On Medical Grounds

The Supreme Court on Friday granted interim bail to former Delhi minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Satyendar Jain for six weeks in a money laundering case.

The court also imposed various conditions including neither talking with the media nor leaving Delhi without permission.
A bench of Justices JK Maheshwari and PS Narasimha granted interim bail to Jain till July 11 and directed him not to influence witnesses in the matter.

The SC directed that all relevant papers of treatment be produced before this court. The top court said that the order will remain in operation till July 11 and listed the matter for July 10 for further hearing.

The top court also gave Jain to choose any hospital of his choice for his medical treatment. The top court made it clear that interim bail is considered on medical conditions.

Senior Advocate AM Singhvi, appearing for Jain, said that they are seeking bail due to health reasons.

ASG SV Raju, appearing for the Enforcement Directorate (ED) sought Jain to be examined by a panel of doctors either by AIIMS or Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital. He also informed the SC that he was the Health Minister and that government hospitals were under him.

Last week, the top court asked ED to file a reply on Satyendar Jain’s plea seeking bail in a money laundering case and also granted liberty to Jain to move vacation bench of the top court for an early hearing on his plea challenging Delhi High Court order dismissing his bail plea in the money laundering case against him.

Jain’s lawyer had told the top court that he has lost 35 kg and turned skeleton due to this.

Former Delhi minister Satyendar Jain had moved Supreme Court challenging the Delhi High Court order dismissing his bail plea in the money laundering case against him.

On April 6, the Delhi High Court dismissed the bail plea of Satyendra Jain. The HC while dismissing Satyendar Jain’s bail plea stated that the applicant is an influential person and has the potential of tampering with evidence. Satyender Jain/applicant, at this stage, can’t be held to clear the twin conditions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA)

The HC had kept the order reserved on March 21 after the conclusion of the submissions made by the defence and prosecution sides after multiple hearings.

During arguments in High Court, Additional Solicitor General (ASG) SV Raju appeared for Enforcement Directorate contented that money laundering is crystal clear against Jain and other co-accused.

In his bail plea, Jain stated, “I appeared before ED on 7 occasions. I have cooperated and participated in the investigation. I was arrested 5 years down the line in 2022.”

On November 17, 2022, the trial court dismissed the bail petition of Satyendar Jain. He was arrested on May 30, 2022, under sections of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) by Enforcement Directorate and is presently in Judicial Custody in the case.

The ED case is based on a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) complaint registered on the allegation that Satyender Jain had acquired movable properties in the name of various persons from February 14, 2015, to May 31, 2017, which he could not satisfactorily account for. (ANI)
