Zeenat to their fans

Zeenat Motivates Fans To Flaunt Their Greys

Veteran actor Zeenat Aman made her place in the industry in the era of the 70s and 80s with her style statement and bold looks. Even today, she keeps inspiring her fans with her thoughts and the way she carries herself at this age. Zeenat took to her Instagram handle to share a picture of her and said that this is her 50th post on Instagram, which is dedicated to those who are not hesitant or shy away from flaunting their grey hair.

She wrote, “Grey weather, grey hair… and a splash of colour to offset it all! I didn’t intend for my grey hair to be a statement, but a statement it has become. In fact, yesterday I read a tweet by someone who said they know at least three people who have been inspired to stop colouring their hair since I made my Instagram debut! I thought this was a wonderful compliment. If embracing my natural hair is encouraging others to do the same, then I’m all the happier for it.”
“So, with my 50th post on Instagram I want to celebrate all of you who are flaunting your beautiful silver hair! Please post a story of yourself (or your silver-haired loved one) and tag me in it. I’d love to share your pictures to my own stories. After all, life isn’t black and white, it’s grey!” she added.

Archana Puran Singh reacted and commented, “Lovvvvvve what you write Zee”

One of her fans mentioned, “Multiple generations of women are now inspired by a real role model instead of someone ephemeral. What a refreshing breath of air you’ve been ma’am. You remind me of my ma- she stopped colouring her hair 10 years ago and inspired everyone with her grey styling.”

Another fan wrote, “Yes absolutely. Grey is beautiful. On my 40th when i had enough grey hair for friends to advise me to color my hair, I decided I am never going to color my hair and embrace all the sign of ‘ageing’- greys, lines, receding hair lines with confidence. And I think I look fabulous!”

On the work front, the actress has given several hits such as ‘Satyam Shivam Sundaram’, ‘Hare Rama Hare Krishna’, ‘Qurbaani’, ‘Dhund’, ‘Don’, ‘Manoranjan’ and ‘Yaadon Ki Baarat’, was known for doing unconventional roles in her era when many actresses are reluctant to take up those characters. Chandershekhar wife bail

Rs 200 Cr Extortion Case: Bail Denied To Chandershekhar’s Wife

The Delhi High Court on Tuesday dismissed the bail petition of Leena Maria Paulose, wife of conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar in a Rs 200 crore extortion case registered by the Economic Offence Wing (EOW) of Delhi Police.

The Court also dismissed the bail petitions of two accused Kamlesh Kothari and B Mohan Raj in the same case.
Sukesh Chandrasekhar, Leena Maria Paulose and others are presently in judicial custody since last year in the case for allegedly duping Aditi Singh, wife of the former promoter of Ranbaxy, Shivinder Singh, of Rs 200 crore.

Justice Dinesh Kumar Sharma on Tuesday dismissed all three bail petitions filed in the matter.

The Delhi Police’s Economic Offences Wing (EOW) in September 2021 had arrested actor Leena Maria Paul, wife of Sukesh Chandrasekar, for allegedly supporting her partner in cases of duping.

According to police, Kothari is a real estate agent who helped the couple buy a bungalow in Chennai and B Mohan Raj a lawyer by profession and has been representing Chandrashekhar in his cases for a long time and was allegedly involved in their wrongdoing.

The Delhi Police Economic Offence Wing (EOW) last year filed a chargesheet naming 14 accused including Conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar, his Wife Leena Maria Paul and others. The Chargesheet was filed under various sections of IPC and provisions of the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA).

According to the EOW, Leena, Sukesh with others used hawala routes, creating shell companies to park the money earned from proceeds of crime.

Delhi Police’s EOW had registered an FIR against Chandrasekhar for allegedly duping the spouses of former promoters of Ranbaxy, Shivinder Singh, and Malvinder Singh, of Rs 200 crores besides ongoing investigations against him in several cases across the country.

According to the Prosecution, the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Delhi Police extended its investigation into the case related to extortion of over Rs 200 crore, by Rohini jail inmate Sukesh Chandrasekar for allegedly duping wives of former Religare promoters Malvinder and Shivinder Singh, who are currently in Tihar jail.

Investigations revealed that the accused Sukesh Chandrasekar had duped Shivinder’s wife Aditi Singh and Malvinder’s wife Japna Singh worth several crores of rupees. The women claimed that they have paid crores of rupees to the conman to secure bail for their husbands and ensure their safety, posing as an officer from the Union Law Ministry.

Chandrasekhar and his associates allegedly took money from Aditi after posing as government officials and promising to get bail for her husband. As per reports, Chandrasekhar persuaded Aditi to transfer money by impersonating a central government official over a spoof call while he was lodged in Rohini jail and promised to manage bail for her husband.

Both Chandrasekhar and his actor wife Leena Maria Paul were arrested by the Delhi Police in September 2021 for their alleged role in the duping case. (ANI)

Yamuna

Delhi On High Alert As Yamuna Crosses Danger Mark

The water level in Yamuna River touched 206. 24 meters, slightly above the danger mark of 205.33 meteres, Central Water Commission said on Tuesday.

The oficials further informed that the high flood level is–207.49 meteres.
“The water level in Yamuna River crosses the danger mark of 205.33 mtr, touching 206.24 mtr; the high flood level is–207.49 mtr,” Central Water Commission said.

The Rail traffic over the old Yamuna bridge in Delhi has been temporarily suspended since 6.00 a.m, today till July 11, said Northern Railway.

Meanwhile, rise in water level in Yamuna was also seen at Vikasnagar, in Uttarakhand’s Dehradun due to continous rainfall.

Earlier, the water level of the Yamuna at the Old Railway Bridge was recorded at 206.04 mm at 11 pm on Monday.

The Yamuna River in Delhi, which was flowing above warning level for hours, crossed the danger mark of 205.33 metres at 5 pm on Monday, the latest data from the flood control department said.

The water level in Yamuna is rising continuously as Haryana released more water into the river from the Hathnikund barrage amid rains across northwest India including the national capital.

According to the Flood Control Department, around 2,15,677 cusecs water was discharged through the Hathnikund barrage at 3 pm on Monday.

A fresh spell of rainfall lashed the city on Monday afternoon.

The areas in the city continued to face water-logging due to incessant rains on Saturday and Sunday and a fresh spell of rainfall on Monday.

Earlier on Monday, Delhi Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj said that the government is in alert mode and that is fully prepared to control the situation.

“Delhi government is on full alert. As the water will go above 206 metres, we will start shifting people, living on the banks. The process of taking them safely to the relief camp will be started. Earlier we were feeling that the water level would cross 205 meters on July 11, but it has crossed 205 meters today itself because more water is being released from Haryana,” he told ANI.

Earlier, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that there is no flood threat in the city due to the rise in the water level of Yamuna, following two days of heavy rain in the national capital and adjoining areas.

The record rainfall in the national capital has impacted all sections, including the poor, the daily wagers and those commuting to reach their destinations. While families around the Yamuna living in hutments will have to shift in case water level rises further, rainwater also entered the homes of some civil servants.

The plight of locals across the societal divide has only served to reinforce the fact that the floods, this year, have hit the poor as well as the powerful.

As the rainwater inundated roads and led to long queues of vehicles stuck in the downpour, residents, including people living in the diplomatic enclave in Chanakyapuri, vented out their migivings over Delhi’s inadequate drainage system.

The diplomatic enclave housing foreign missions, in Chanakyapuri, as well as other areas housing VIPs were inundated.

Owing to the heavy rainfall and waterlogging, the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) also advised senior bureaucrats residing on ground floors to relocate to safer places as a precautionary measure.

There were reports of house collapses and waterlogging in several residential colonies. Waterlogging woes were also observed in diplomatic enclaves such as Chanakyapuri, Kaka Nagar, Bharti Nagar, and other prominent roads and colonies in the jurisdiction of the NDMC. (ANI)

“We never saw such a situation in the past several years. I am very concerned over the prevailing situation in the state. Several big and small rivers are in spate and if the situation persists over the next few days, there could be further damage,” he said.

The rains have wreaked havoc in Himachal Pradesh triggering landslides, causing power disruption, blocking roads, and damaging bridges. Nature’s fury in the state has claimed 20 lives over the past 48 hours.

Tourists were stranded in parts of the hill-state, with the loss of infrastructure estimated at between Rs 3,000 crore and Rs. 4,000 crore.

Dr Mohammad Bin Abdulkarim al-Issa

WML Chief To Communicate Message Of Interfaith Unity During India Visit

The India visit of Dr Mohammad Bin Abdulkarim al-Issa, Secretary-General of the World Muslim League is aimed to communicate the message of moderation and interfaith unity.
His visit to India comes when a debate is raging around Uniform Civil Code. The Law Commission of India has recently initiated a fresh deliberation on the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) and solicited public views on the same. This has resulted in a debate over the recognising women as equal to men, and a uniform law to protect her rights in marriage, divorce and inheritance.

Founded and funded by Saudi Arabia, the Muslim World League or Rabitat al-Alam al-Islami has been active as an International Islamic NGO. Not alien to controversies, it has emerged as a credible and reputable platform for reforms in Islamic ideas world-over.

Dr al-Issa, who served as Justice Minister of Saudi, has established himself as the fountainhead of such reforms.

His rigorous six-day tour will not only focus on interfaith harmony but will also connect Indian political and religious leadership with the leading body of the Islamic world. Dr al-Issa’s visit is also being seen as “peace diplomacy”.

Counter radicalism, promoting religious moderation and building bridges with forces of peace have been key ingredients of India’s foreign policy and in recent years, New Delhi has sought to connect to such voices in the Islamic world. Dr al-Issa’s visit is a pivotal stride in that direction.

Dr Issa’s first interaction with Indian Muslims will be in the company of national security adviser Ajit Doval, who has sought to straighten the curbs of the Indian government’s relations with Muslims and the Islamic world with genuine passion.

The joint session at the India-Islamic Cultural Centre, the hub of all major Muslim-related activities in the national capital, may turn out to be a stormy one. On one hand, people will laud a message of moderation that will echo in their deliberations, they might also seek Dr al-Issa’s understanding of the continued persecution of Indian Muslims under the present dispensation.

Since the World Muslim League, which Dr al-Issa heads, also functions to safeguard Islamic Shariah, people may seek his opinion about under discussion the Uniform Civil Code that is feared to abolish some of the Shariah-guided civil laws of Muslims.

While one may speculate the views of Doval since he represents the government, it will be interestingly curious to know what Dr al-Issa will say.

Until recently, the MWL was considered a “sponsor” of many radical outfits worldwide, including some in India. Post-Iranian Revolution in 1979, the MWL reportedly infused money into building mosques, madrasas and other institutions in India and Pakistan.

It however changed ever since Prince Mohammed Bin Salman, the Saudi crown prince, stepped into the ruling arena and prepared a blueprint for change – the Vision 2030.

Dr al-Issa, an academic and a scholar focused on bringing constitutional colour to state laws, was appointed Secretary General of the MWL. He speaks of the need for a current “interpretation” of the Quran and doing away with the Hadiths that may sow discord.

Dr al-Issa argued in a lecture at Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University in Riyadh in 2012 that Salafism was only an approach and that it should not be viewed as Islam.

He further emphasised that the Salafi approach was moderate and meant following and obeying the ancestors’ beliefs and values in regard to the understanding of Islam.

He advocates for Muslim immigrants to Western countries to integrate socially, in contrast to Wahhabi ideology which has been the official creed of the Saudi monarchy.

Issa is opposed to Political Islam, saying that it does not reflect the true values of Islam and prevents the assimilation of Muslims living in non-Muslim countries.

In July 2022, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud appointed Dr Al-Issa the Khateeb of Hajj 1443 Hijri to deliver the hajj sermon from the pulpit of Masjid Nimra. He called on Muslims to avoid all that leads to “dissent, animosity, or division” and stressed that “our interactions are dominated by harmony and compassion”.

His address further asked Muslims “not to give any mind to those who are insolent, have ulterior motives, or seek to obstruct him” in a bid to promote tolerance and understanding.

Dr Al-Issa underscored that Islam had an encompassing spirit whose goodness extended to all of humanity.

One institution that has said Labbayka (I will stick to obeying you again and again) to MBS’ Vision 2030 is the World Muslim League under Dr al-Issa’s leadership.

Dr al-Issa has been interpreting the doctrines and structures of the yet-conservative Islam to suit the requirements of the modern age.

Wahhabi interpretations of Islamic texts and teachings pursued and enforced by bodies like the religious police, the Ministry of Education, and a judiciary trained in Sharia (Islamic law) that retains general jurisdiction have given the Saudi state a religious character with no real parallel in the region.

But as part of the MBS plan, the country’s governing structures are being centralised, remoulded, and reined in. Its religious doctrine is no longer “committed blindly” to the teachings of Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab, or to any “certain school or scholar.”

Dr al-Issa as head of the MWL has landed in India exactly with this message.

The author of this article, Dr Shujaat Ali Quadri is the Chairman of the Muslim Students Organization of India. (ANI)

Animal Sequel

Ranbir Grooves To ‘Ban Than Chali Bolo’, Video Goes Viral

Actor Ranbir Kapoor recently wrapped up the shooting of his upcoming action thriller film ‘Animal.’

Several videos from the wrap-up party of the film are now surfacing on social media in which Ranbir could be seen grooving to Sukhwinder Singh’s songs ‘Chaiyya Chaiyya’ and ‘Ban Than Chali Bolo’ as the crew hooted for him.
https://www.instagram.com/reel/CugUrzKrQtI/

Helmed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, ‘Animal’ also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor and Bobby Deol in the lead roles.

Soon after the clips of the actor dancing with the crew members went viral on social media, fans flooded the comment section with red hearts and fire emoticons.

‘Animal’ is all set to hit the theatres on December 1.

Talking about the film’s postponement, director Vanga earlier said in a video, “The only reason why we are not releasing the film on August 11 is the quality. I am not going to explain to you how the post-production work of the film is being layered because it might bore you. For example, there are seven songs in the film and when the seven songs are multiplied by 5 languages it becomes 35 songs. 35 songs, different types of lyricists, different sets of singers, it’s going to take a little more time than what I have actually planned for. The kind of lyrical value that we have achieved in Hindi, I need to give the same kind of lyrical value in all different languages and for that, I really need to spend time to get into all different languages. When it gets released I don’t want to give the feeling that it is a Hindi-dubbed Tamil film or a Hindi-dubbed Telugu film. So for that, we are taking time and there’s no other reason. All I can promise you is that we will come with the best quality on December 1.”

Recently the makers also unveiled the pre-teaser of the film.

The video begins with several people who can be seen wearing skull masks, white shirts, black waistcoats, and ties. They wielded axes as well. Ranbir, the lead actor in the movie, walks in with an axe in his hand to fight with the group.

Ranbir swung his axe as he slaughtered several people, many of whom managed to flee. Ranbir can be seen wearing white dhota and kurta. He kept her beard and hair long. The teaser only showed a portion of the actor’s face but Some scars on his face were visible. (ANI)

Bengal Governor after meeting Shah

Good Will Happen In Days To Come: Bengal Gov After Meeting Shah

The darkest hour is just before dawn, good will happen in the days to come, said West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose on Monday following his meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah here in the national capital.

The meeting is significant as it was scheduled just two days after the violence in West Bengal Panchayat elections which has claimed over a dozen lives in the state.
Bose met with the Home Minister at his North Block office in the national capital. The meeting lasted for nearly 30 minutes.

“The darkest hour is just before dawn. There will be light at the end of the tunnel. The only message I could get today is -if winter comes can spring be far behind? Good will happen in the days to come,” said West Bengal Governor after his meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

Bose didn’t speak about the violence in West Bengal during the Panchayat polls on Saturday. Several incidents of violence were reported during the Panchayat polls in Bengal on Saturday. Repolling took place at 697 booths across five districts of the state on Monday.

The State Election Commission on Sunday said that police have confirmed 10 deaths in poll-related violence.

There were reports of booth capturing, damage to ballot boxes and assault of presiding officers from several districts such as Murshidabad, Cooch Behar, Malda, South 24 Parganas, North Dinajpur and Nadia.

Counting of votes will start at 8 am on Juy 11. All counting centres will have a deployment of Central forces and CCTV cameras installed.

To conduct a fair, safe and impartial election for 3317 Gram Panchayats, 341 Panchayat Samitis and 20 Zila Parishads in West Bengal on Saturday, security forces from the Centre, as well as the state, were deployed on all 61,636 polling booths.

The state Election Commission had set up a total of 61,636 polling booths across West Bengal to conduct the election.

A total of 59,000 personnel of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) and other State Armed Police (SAP) forces have been deployed at sensitive polling booths and the rest of the troops of CAPF and SAP along with local State Police were given the responsibility of security at the remaining polling booths.

Amid the polling on Saturday in the state, several incidents of violence were reported despite the security arrangements.

Several other incidents of ballot box and ballot paper looting and destruction were reported on Saturday from numerous polling booths in the state.

The repolling in West Bengal concluded today to choose representatives for nearly 928 seats across 22 Zilla Parishads, 9,730 Panchayat Samiti, and 63,239 Gram Panchayat seats.

The number of village Panchayat Election centres is 58,594. There are 63,239 seats at the Gram Panchayat level, 9730 at Panchayat Samiti and 928 at the Zila Parishad level.

In 2018, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) won uncontested, 34 per cent of the seats in panchayat elections, which also saw various instances of violence. Trinamool Congress has won many seats uncontestedly in the 2023 elections as well.

Following the violence, a war of words escalated between Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the ruling Trinamool Congress.(ANI)
