Yogi, Scindia Inspect Shri Ram International Airport In Ayodhya

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath along with Union ministers Jyotiraditya Scindia and General (Retd) VK Singh inspected the under-construction Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram International Airport in Ayodhya on Saturday.

“We all know that the airstrip in Ayodhya was very small. We had only 178 acres of land here. We could not have a big international airport in such a small strip. Under Prime Minister Modi’s direction, the proposal that was sent to the central government was approved. After being provided 821-acre land by the state government, the Airport Authority of India is working to develop the new airport at a war footing. The new airport will be ready by December 15,” Yogi said.

Civil Aviation Minister Scindia said that Ayodhya’s airport should reflect the city’s historic significance and culture.

“When someone from the country or abroad visits an airport then he/she should get a glimpse of the city’s historic significance. Hence Ayodhya’s airport should not be just another airport. We have tried to implement Ayodhya’s culture in its airport,” Scindia said.

“The 6500 square meter airport can land two to three flights in an hour. 2200 metre runway will be constructed which will be extended to 3700 metres in the second stage. This will help all international planes to land at Ayodhya,” he added.

The trio also visited the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir construction site in Ayodhya and offered prayers to the Ram Lala.

Earlier in the day, security was beefed up and preparations were underway at Ayodhya for their visit.

Meanwhile, the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust will invite 4000 sadhus ahead of the grand consecration ceremony of Ram Lalla on January 22.

The invited members have been requested not to bring in their private priests as they will not be allowed to enter the Ram temple.

The process of distribution of invitation letters has started. The invitations are being sent to various ‘maths’ from the General Secretary of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra, Champat Rai.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the inauguration of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya on January 22, 2024. The foundation stone of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya was laid by PM Modi on August 5, 2020.

It is pertinent to note that the Supreme Court’s verdict in 2019 on the Ayodhya dispute paved the way for the construction of the grand Ram temple. Following the apex court verdict, the Centre set up Shri Ram Janma Bhoomi Tirtha Kshetra’ Trust to take all decisions regarding the construction of a magnificent Ram Temple in Ayodhya.

The construction of the temple has been progressing at a steady pace under the supervision of the Trust. The idol of Ram Lalla will be installed in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple. (ANI)

Election Commission of India Mizoram

Nearly 4000 Personnel Assigned: Counting Day Preparations In Full Swing In Mizoram

As the Election Commission of India rescheduled the counting of votes for assembly elections in Mizoram to December 4, preparations are in full swing to ensure smooth conduct of operations.

The state election department informed that all preparations and arrangements have been made for the counting scheduled to be held on Monday.

On the rescheduling of the counting day from December 3, the ECI on Friday said that the date has been revised for counting in Mizoram as several representations were received from various quarters of the state to change the vote counting day.

According to the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Mizoram, the counting will be conducted in 13 centres across the state and 40 counting halls. There will be 399 EVM tables and 56 postal ballot tables in 40 counting halls across the state.

Nearly 4000 personnel will be involved in the counting of votes, as per the state election department.

Earlier, Mizoram DGP Anil Shukla told ANI that, all arrangements have been made to ensure an incident-free day of counting.

Polling for the 40-seat Mizoram assembly was held on November 7 and 80.66 per cent of voter turnout was recorded in the state.

The exit poll results of Mizoram have indicated a neck-and-neck fight between the ruling Mizo National Front (MNF) and Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM) and the political observers have also predicted the same.

But, both the regional parties have kept their hopes high over winning an absolute majority to form the next government in Mizoram.

“We are very much confident that, ZPM will get the absolute majority seats and form the government,” ZPM Working President K Sapdanga who contested from Aizawl North-III constituency earlier told ANI.

MNF led by Chief Minister Zoramthanga, ZPM led by former IPS officer Lalduhoma and Congress contested in all 40 assembly seats, while BJP contested in only 23 seats in the state. (ANI)

The AQI at Lodhi Road and Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium was recorded at 349 and 366, respectively, falling in the ‘Very Poor’ category.

Rahul Sachdeva, a local, complained of breathing problems due to pollution.

“I came here with my daughter for a segway. The fun would have doubled if the pollution was less. We are having breathing issues due to pollution. Children are coughing,” he said

Abhishek, another local from the city, said, “You can see the situation, it is bad. The pollution is very high. There are breathing issues.”

Congress Rahul Gandhi

Cong Aims To Have 50% Women CM In 10 Yrs: Rahul

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday said that the mission of the grand old party would be to have 50 percent of the women Chief Ministers in 10 years.

“A good target for the Congress party would be if, in 10 years from today, 50 per cent of our chief ministers are women. Today we don’t have a single chief minister who is a woman. But I know many women in the Congress party have the quality to be very good chief ministers. We have to ensure that at every level, there are more and more women in the organisation and this cannot be done through events, ” Rahul Gandhi said while addressing the ‘Utsaah’ Mahila Congress State Convention in Ernakulam, Kerala.

Stressing the need for a dynamic shift in the country’s political system by minimizing discrimination, he said, “It has to be done through a process. In the political system, we have different types of discrimination, we have caste discrimination, and language, but women are the most discriminated against. There are no women in this room who are comfortable walking on the streets at night.”

Toeing the line of BJP for women empowerment, he added, “From the organisation point of view, it is very important to be aggressive on women empowerment.”

He further slammed the RSS and BJP on women’s issues and said that the biggest question is “Are the women allowed to share power in the RSS?”

“The central fight between BJP and Congress is about how women should be treated. In the picture of freedom, you will find Mahatma Gandhi always standing and advocating for women. You will see women taking the front in the freedom struggle. Congress party has many women presidents and has PM women president because we fundamentally believe women should share power in the country.”

“In its entire history, RSS has not allowed women in its organisation. The question is are the women allowed to share power in the RSS? The RSS is purely a man-oriented organisation,” Rahul Gandhi said.

He also alleged that the RSS decide what women should do and what they should wear.

“What women wear, what they do is the decision of her only. In the RSS, they decide what women should do and on what basis women should be respected. For the first time, I have seen a bill passed in parliament that will be implemented a decade later. The only bill which the BJP has passed after 10 years is of the women empowerment (Women reservation bill),” he added. (ANI)

KT Rama Rao

Exact Polls Will Give Us Good News: KT Rama Rao On Exit Poll

After some exit poll projection showed the Congress leading the race to form the government in Telangana, Telangana Minister and Bharat Rashtra Samithi working president KT Rama Rao said on Friday that exact polls will “give us good news.”

“After a long time had a peaceful sleep. Exit polls can take a hike. Exact polls will give us good news,” Minister KTR posted on X.

Exit polls on Thursday predicted that Congress is poised to form government in Telangana and that the ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) would fall short of the majority mark after 10-year rule in India’s youngest state.

At a news conference on Thursday, KT Rama Rao said that the BRS was confident of forming the government despite what the pollsters were claiming

“We have proved the exit polls wrong in the past too. we will do it again. BRS will return to power on December 3 with 70+ seats. This is an illogical exit poll. People are still voting. People are queuing up to vote till 9pm. I think it’s very ludicrous. I’ve come here because I wanted to tell my party cadre that don’t believe this nonsense” KT Rama Rao had said.

State Congress President Revanth Reddy asserted that the grand old party is going to get a landslide victory this time after exit poll results were out on Thursday evening.

“Congress is going to get landslide victory this time and the same thing is reflected in the exit polls. We are going to get over 80 seats…There is a screening committee, a selection committee and then the CWC has to take a call (for CM). In Congress, there is a process for everything. Being the PCC president, I will have to obey every order from the high command,” Reddy told ANI on Thursday.

Telangana recorded an overall voter turnout of 70.28 per cent in the assembly polls.

The high-stakes battle in Telangana witnessed a largely triangular contest involving the ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and the Congress.

A total of 2,290 contestants were in the fray. In 2018, BRS (then Telangana Rashtra Samithi) won 88 of the 119 seats and had 47.4 per cent of the vote share. The Congress came in a distant second with just 19 seats.

Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao sought a record third term in office in the polls as Congress gained momentum in its campaign in the past few months, with the BJP also talking of the “misrule and corruption” of the ruling Bharatiya Rasthra Samithi. Five states went to the polls this month, with counting slated for December 3. (ANI)

Modi Proposes To Host COP33 Summit In India In 2028

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said India is among the few countries which is on course to meet Intended Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) as part of efforts to combat climate change and proposed that the country will host COP33 in 2028.

“India is committed to UN Framework for Climate Change process. That is why, from this stage, I propose to host COP33 Summit in India in 2028,” PM Modi said in his remarks at the opening ceremony of High-level segment of COP28 being hosted by UAE.

He said India has presented an excellent example of the balance between ecology and economy before the world.

“Despite India being home to 17 per cent of population of the world, its contribution to Global Carbon Emissions is less than 4 per cent. India is one of those few economies of the world that is on the path to meet NDC targets,” he said.

Prime Minister reached Dubai on Thursday to attend the World Climate Action Summit of the Conference Of Parties-28.

COP28 will provide an opportunity to review progress made under the Paris Agreement, and chart a path for future course on climate action.

Prime Minister had said before leaving for Dubai that India has walked the talk when it comes to climate action.

“Our achievements in different sectors like renewable energy, energy efficiency, afforestation, energy conservation, Mission LiFE are testament to the commitment of our people towards mother Earth,” he said.

The Prime Minister will also be participating in three high-level side events in Dubai, of which two are being co-hosted by India.

The first high-level event, which is being co-hosted by India and the UAE, is the launch of Green Credits Initiative. The Green Credits Initiative is based on the Green Credit Programme, which was notified by the Ministry of Environment in October this year, and basically envisions the issue of Green Credits for plantations on waste and degraded lands and the river catchment areas in order to restore their vitality.

The second side event, co-hosted by India and Sweden, is the launch of LeadIT 2.0, essentially a Leadership Group for Industry Transition.

In the three decades since the Rio Summit and the launch of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), the Conference of the Parties to the Convention (COP) has convened member countries every year to determine ambition and responsibilities, and identify and assess climate measures.

The 21st session of the COP (COP21) led to the Paris Agreement, which mobilized global collective action to limit the global temperature increase to 1.5C above pre-industrial levels by 2100, and to act to adapt to the already existing effects of climate change. (ANI)
