Rajinikanth’s First Look From ‘Thalaivar 170’ Out Now

Makers of Rajinikanth starrer ‘Thalaivar 170’ unveiled the first look of the superstar on Wednesday.

The Official page of Lyca Productions took to X to unveil the first look of the superstar.

They wrote, “Lights Camera Clap & ACTION. With our Superstar @rajinikanth and the stellar cast of Thalaivar 170 the team is all fired up and ready to roll! Hope you all enjoyed the Thalaivar feast. Now it’s time for some action! We’ll come up with more updates as the shoot progresses.”

In the monochrome picture, Rajinikanth is dressed in a black suit, a black shirt, and black sunglasses.

TJ Gnanavel directs Thalaivar 170. After 32 years, Amitabh Bachchan will reunite with star Rajinikanth in this film.

Ritika Singh, Manju Warrier, Tushara Vijayan, Rana Daggubati, and Fahadh Faasil have also been cast as extras.

Rajinikanth is expected to play a retired police officer in the film. Earlier, he was seen leaving the Chennai airport on his way to Kochi to shoot his next film.

“I am going for the next movie shooting. ‘Jailer’ movie is more successful than what we expected. 170th movie is directed by T J Gnanavel. It is Produced by LYCA which would be a big entertainment movie with a message. The title for the movie is yet to be decided,” he said at the time.

Rajinikanth was recently seen in ‘Jailer,’ which was a worldwide box-office hit. He plays a man seeking to avenge the death of his cop son in ‘Jailer’. Mohanlal, Shivarajkumar, and Jackie Shroff are in important cameos. (ANI)

‘Jailer’ Actor G Marimuthu Passes Away Due To Cardiac Arrest

Renowned director-actor G Marimuthu passed away on Friday due to cardiac arrest at a private hospital in Chennai.

He died of cardiac arrest today around 8:30 am at a private hospital in the city.

Marimuthu collapsed while dubbing his voice for a television serial. Then, he was rushed o a private hospital in Vadapalani, where he was declared dead.

Actor’s fans, family members and friends pay tribute to him at his residence in Chennai.

He will be taken to his native place in Theni District by 6 pm today and last rites will be performed.

Marimuthu was recently seen in Rajinikanth starrer ‘Jailer’ movie.

After learning of the filmmaker’s death, the members of the film industry took to social media to pay their condolences.

Sun Pictures, which produced ‘Jailer’ took to X (formerly known as Twitter) and posted, “Condolences! Your work has been impeccable and irreplaceable. Rest in peace #Marimuthu.”

G Marimuthu began his career as a filmmaker with ‘Kannum Kannum’ in 2008. In addition to directing films, he has played a number of interesting roles in Tamil films. He collaborated with lyricist Vairamuthu in the early stages of his career. In Tamil films, he also served as an assistant director.

His memorable performance include ‘Vaali,’ ‘Jeeva,’ ‘Pariyerum Perumal,’ and ‘Jailer,’ to name a few.

He has been a part of the Tamil television series ‘Ethir Neechal’ since 2022. Marimuthu was a YouTube sensation whose opinions trend on social media platforms. (ANI)

Rajinikanth To Visit Ayodhya Tomorrow

Superstar Rajinikanth, who attended the special screening of ‘Jailer’ in Lucknow, will visit Ayodhya on Sunday.

“Jee kal program hai. (Yes the programme is tomorrow),” he told ANI on Saturday after being asked about his special plans to visit the birthplace of Lord Ram.

Meanwhile, on Saturday, Rajinikanth hosted the screening of his latest release ‘Jailer’ in Lucknow. UP Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya attended the screening.

‘Thalaiva’ Rajinikanth reached Lucknow for the screening on Friday night.

The actor expressed his excitement about the kind of positive response his film is getting from the audience and its success.

“… It’s God’s blessing that the movie is becoming a hit,” he told ANI.

Earlier, Rajinikanth was in Ranchi, Jharkhand.

He also visited the famous Chhinnamasta Temple in the state on Friday and offered prayers. He spent an hour meditating at ‘Yagoda Ashram’ in Ranchi. This was followed by his meeting with Jharkhand Governor C P Radhakrishnan at the Raj Bhavan.

‘Jailer,’ which was released in theatres on August 10, has grabbed the box office by storm. In India, the film’s eight-day total collection stood at Rs 235.65 crore (as of August 17). The film was released in several languages, including Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi.
