‘Business In Ayodhya Has Risen Manifold Since Pran Pratishtha Event’

‘Business In Ayodhya Has Risen Manifold Since Pran Pratishtha Event’

Anup Gupta, owner of Ram & Shyam Hotel at Hanumangarhi, says even neighbouring districts are benefitting from devotees thronging the newly-built Ram Temple

With the grand ceremony at Ayodhya Ram Temple, our city has suddenly found its place in the sun. On the day of Pran Prathishtha (consecration), the Ram Temple recorded over 3 to 4 lakh people who lined up for a drashan and the next day, this figure swelled to over 7 lakh. The role of the police and administration deserves a salute as they managed the crowd very well. Ever since the stream of visitors to Ayodhya has not stopped. It seems, every Hindu wants to have a glimpse of Ram Lalla.

Naturally, this has meant good business for the Ayodhya residents. Be it the sale of flowers or other puja ware (like ladoos etc to be offered as Prasad) or food and other daily-use items, the demand has increased manifold. Souvenir items such as precious stones, posters, statues, etc have also shot up drastically, benefitting one and all – the suppliers to small sellers, everyone.

According to rough estimates, as reported in the local media, the sales of flowers and ladoos touched a whooping ₹4 crore a day since January 22. And since Ayodhya cannot meet this surge in demand, most items are being sourced from neighboring districts. So, even surrounding districts are also benefitting from the rush of devotees.

The demand for hotel rooms has also increased to a record high. Hotel occupancy is 100 per cent and booked for months in advance. There are visitors who flocked into Ayodhya well in advance (before January 22). Such was the rush that all roads leading to Ayodhya had to be closed and no fresh batch of devotees was allowed inside for the next few days after January 22.

Once the rail, road and air connectivity to Ayodhya comes into service, the rush of visitors is only going to scale new heights. Already, many big hotels groups have bought land to set up five-star facilities here and there are more queuing up to set up all kind of stay options, from budget to luxury, to serve tourists.

Ayodhya citizens will also benefit from this never-ending influx of devotees. They will start services of paying guests, rented accommodation in their dwellings or start up tourist-friendly business like eateries or souvenir shops. You name a business, and you will find it expanding and leaping forward from January onwards. This year 2024 has been a landmark in the history of Ayodhya denizens.

Once the temple is complete (which is expected to happen in the next two years or so), you will not find a place to stay in and around 30 km of the city. Real estate prices are already skyrocketing. Ayodhya, as it is truly said, is set to surpass Mecca and the Vatican in the near future.

Delhi's Jamia Millia Islamia

Delhi: Jamia Varsity To Probe Students’ Protest Against Ayodhya Temple

A group of students at Delhi’s Jamia Millia Islamia staged a protest on the university campus against the demolition of Babri Masjid on the day of ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony at Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya.

During the protest on Monday, the students raised slogans such as “RSS down down” and “Strike for Babri.” A Jamia official told ANI the university is further looking into the matter.

Videos of the protest also went viral and were circulated on social media platforms. In one of the videos, two students were seen holding placards with photos of demolished masjids and raising slogans, while campus security personnel tried to stop them.

The university authorities said that the students were removed from the spot as soon as the protest started.

“There were 2-3 students who raised slogans and showed placards yesterday. When we got the knowledge the students were removed from the place. The university is further looking into the matter,” a Jamia official told ANI.

He also said that ongoing exams for the evening shift went smoothly.

“No problems were faced during the exams. Jamia called the half day off, so the first half exams were postponed,” he added.

The Pran Pratishtha of Ram Lalla was held at Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya on Monday. Following the Pran Pratishtha, the shrine was opened to the public on Tuesday.

The temple’s construction was made possible by a Supreme Court judgment in 2019 on the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid title suit.

The constitutional bench comprising the five judges passed a unanimous judgment in favour of the temple side on November 9, 2019, where it said that although the demolition of the Babri Masjid was illegal, the Hindu plaintiffs laying claim to the disputed 2.77 acres of land made a better case. Posters Depicting Child Version Of Lord Ram Go Up On Entry Gate To Ayodhya

Posters Depicting Child Version Of Lord Ram Go Up On Entry Gate To Ayodhya

Posters depicting the child-version of Lord Ram adorned the entry gate to the grand Ayodhya temple on Saturday, two days ahead of the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony on January 22.

Ayodhya was abuzz with the cackle of locals and the excitement and anticipation were palpable ahead of the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ and the grand opening of the temple on Monday.

Earlier, on Friday, the idol of Shri Ram Lalla, carved by renowned Mysuru sculptor Arun Yogiraj, was placed inside the sanctum sanctorum of the temple.

Covered with a veil, the first photo of the idol was revealed during the placement ceremony in the sanctum sanctorum on Thursday.

Speaking to reporters on Friday, Acharya Satyendra Das, chief priest of Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Temple, said, “The eyes of the deity are hidden behind a piece of cloth as they cannot be revealed before the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony.”

However, several purported images of the idol, with the eyes uncovered, went viral on social media platforms.

However, claiming that the viral images were not of the real idol, Acharya Satyendra Das told ANI, “As per our beliefs, the eyes of the idol cannot be revealed before the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ is completed. The images showing the eyes are not of the real idol. And, if the idol in the viral images is genuine, then there should be an investigation into who revealed the eyes and leaked the pictures.”

“All procedures and rituals will be conducted as per our scriptures and beliefs. The eyes of Ram Lalla will not be revealed till the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ has been done,” the seer added.

Meanwhile, with less than 48 hours to the grand event on January 22, the Ram Nagari had a festival look about it on Saturday, with the streets, shops and buildings all lit up in myriad hues.

The city is also bedecked with petals in vibrant colours ahead of the grand ceremony.

A long line of celebrities and top dignitaries have already started streaming into the temple town ahead of January 22. The state government, meanwhile, has made elaborate security deployments and arrangements for the grand temple opening. While CCTVs have been installed across the city, drones and devices enabled with night vision are being used to step up surveillance ahead of the mega event.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will preside over the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony, which will be officiated by a complement of priests chosen from across the country.

Ayodhya: NDRF Sets Up Camp Near Ram Temple Ahead Of ‘Pran Pratishtha’

With just 48 hours to the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony at the Ram Temple on January 22, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has set up a camp near the shrine in Ayodhya to respond to contingencies, if any.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will perform the rituals around the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ of Shri Ram Lalla at the temple on January 22.

Speaking to ANI on Saturday, Manoj Kumar Sharma, the deputy inspector general of police, NDRF, shared details of the deployment of the rescue personnel in the temple town ahead of the big day.

“Three NDRF teams have been deployed here ahead of the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony on January 22. The deployment has been done in coordination with the local administration and police. One of our teams has been deployed at the ghats. We are ready to deal with all sorts of contingencies,” Sharma told ANI on Saturday.

Ahead of the grand ceremony, elaborate security deployments and arrangements have also been made across the city.

“We are making necessary preparations with regard to security in coordination with the agencies concerned. The visitors have already started arriving for the ‘Pran Pratishtha’. We are ensuring close surveillance through drone cameras and human intelligence. All security loopholes are being identified and addressed on priority. We are confident that the mega event on January 22 will pass off without a hitch,” Praveen Kumar, IG, Ayodhya, said.

Kumar added that all necessary arrangements have been made for the guests.

The Ayodhya Police, earlier on Saturday, cautioned people in the city against the rise of cyber crimes as the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ day nears.

According to the police, amid the hoopla and rising public anticipation around the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony, cybercriminals are defrauding unsuspecting people by sending fake QR codes for ‘donations’ in the name of Ram Temple in exchange for free prasad (food offered to the deity), VIP and entry passes to the temple on January 22.

The fraudsters have even created a fake website in the name of Ram Mandir, Ayodhya, according to the police.

The police have advised citizens not to reply to any request or WhatsApp message sent by any unknown person without verification or donate money to anyone without verification.

The booking for ‘aarti’ passes to the Ram Janmobhoomi temple started in December ahead of the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony on January 22. Aartis are performed three times a day (6:30 am, 12 pm, 7:30 pm) for Lord Ram Lalla for which passes are generated for the devotees.

A team of priests, led by Lakshami Kant Dixit, will officiate the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ rituals on Monday.

Lord Ram’s Idol Will Be Taken For ‘Nagar Bhraman’: Acharya Das

Ram Janmabhoomi Temple Chief Priest Acharya Satyendra Das on Friday detailed the rituals to be undertaken before the Pran Pratishtha ceremony at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.

Speaking to ANI, Acharya Satyendra Das informed that the idol of Lord Ram would be taken for either a ‘Nagar Bhraman’ or ‘Parisar Bhraman’ before the Pran Pratishtha ceremony.

“Pran Pratishtha is an extensive ritual so the puja will begin from January 15-16, when Kharmas concludes on January 14…The idol will be taken for either a ‘Nagar Bhraman’ or ‘Parisar Bhraman’. After that, other rituals will also follow…All these processes will be completed before Pran Pratishtha,” he said.

He further informed that only the main event will happen at the main ceremony on January 22.

Further, he also hailed the decision of Prime Minister Narendra to observe fast and start a special ritual eleven days before the pran pratishtha.

“This is good…He knows the protocol and is doing this…It is good of him to be so devoted to Ramlalla…” Acharya Satyendra Das added.

PM Modi has started an 11-day special ritual in the run-up to the Pran Pratishtha of Shri Ramlala at the temple at Ayodhya Dham on January 22.

“This is a huge responsibility. As it is also said in our scriptures, we have to awaken divine consciousness in ourselves for the Yagya and worship of God. For this, fasts and strict rules have been prescribed in the scriptures, which have to be followed before consecration. Therefore, according to the guidance I have received from some pious souls and great men of the spiritual journey and according to the ‘Yama-Niyams’ suggested by them, I am starting a special ritual 11 days from today,” the PM said in an audio message.

He further said that the ’emotional journey of his inner self is not an opportunity for expression but for experience’.

“I am overwhelmed with emotions! For the first time in my life, I am going through such feelings. I am experiencing a different feeling of devotion. This emotional journey of my inner self is not an opportunity for expression but for experience. Even though I want to, I am not able to put into words its depth, breadth and intensity. You can also understand my situation very well,” the PM added. (ANI)

Ram Mandir UP Yogi

No Liquor, Schools, Colleges To Remain Closed In UP On Jan 22

Considering the emotional significance of the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ programme of Lord Ram in Ram Mandir, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath terming this special occasion as a ‘national festival’ has directed the declaration of a holiday in educational institutions across the state on January 22.

Terming this occasion as special, CM Yogi said that liquor shops should be kept closed in the state on January 22.

During his visit to Ayodhya on Tuesday, the Chief Minister held a meeting with the officials of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra.

Taking information about the Vedic rituals of Pran Pratistha starting after Makar Sankranti, the Chief Minister directed officials to extend all necessary cooperation to the Teerth Kshetra Trust for the security and other arrangements for the ceremony.

The Chief Minister emphasized the need for enhanced hospitality for dignitaries attending the consecration ceremony in Ayodhya.

“The resting place of each VVIP should be selected in advance. Considering the weather, some guests may arrive a day or two earlier. In such a situation, better arrangements should be made for their stay,” he said.

CM Yogi emphasized that after January 22, devotees of Lord Ram from across the globe will visit Ayodhya. To facilitate their convenience, he directed the installation of multilingual signage throughout the city, covering languages from the 8th Schedule of the Constitution and the six official languages of the United Nations.

Stressing the paramount importance of cleanliness in hospitality, the Chief Minister sought public cooperation. He underscored the necessity of maintaining cleanliness on major roads and streets such as Dharma Path, Janmabhoomi Path, Bhakti Path, and Ram Path.

With over 3800 sanitation workers deployed, CM Yogi recommended increasing the workforce by an additional 1500 employees to further ensure cleanliness and hygiene.

“The upcoming historic Pran-Pratishtha program is a source of joy, pride, and self-satisfaction for crores of Sanatan believers. The whole country is imbued with the spirit of Lord Shri Ram. Deepotsav will be celebrated at every temple in the evening on January 22. Every Sanatan believer is encouraged to welcome Ramlala by lighting the Ramjyoti in their homes and establishments,” CM Yogi said.

“Today I have personally inspected the arrangements of the tent city. There is a good arrangement here. Emphasize cleanliness and ensure that those staying here have access to hot water. To ensure availability of food grains in the tent city, necessary arrangements should be made by the Food and Logistics Department and Mandi Parishad,” he added.

The Chief Minister emphasized the need for expanding night shelters and increasing their numbers in various locations. He stressed that no individual seeking shelter for the night in Dharmanagari should endure the cold, and directed the Relief Commissioner to ensure necessary arrangements are made to address this concern.

“Develop an enhanced action plan for parking and traffic management specifically for the January 22 event. Ensure ample parking facilities along major roads leading to Ayodhya. Arrange for a sufficient number of electric buses to transport visitors and plan for their organized parking,” he asserted. (ANI)
