K’taka: Modi To Hold Two Road Shows, 6 Public Meet This Weekend

In a major boost to the Bharatiya Janata Party’s election campaign in poll-bound Karnataka, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold two massive roadshows and six public meetings this weekend, sources said on Thursday.

The Prime Minister will visit Karnataka on April 29 and 30 and hold mega roadshows in Bengaluru on the first day.
“This roadshow will be of nearly 10 km in length in which three assembly constituencies of Bangalore North will be covered in nearly 45 minutes,” sources told ANI.

He will also address public meetings at various places in the state including in Kolar on April 30.

“The second public meeting is being organized at Channapatan in the afternoon, the third public meeting will be held in Belur at 5.00 pm. After this, a road show may be held in Mysore city also,” sources said.

According to sources, the mega roadshow of Prime Minister Narendra Modi will start on April 29 at around 6 pm.

“The roadshow will be held from Nice Road Junction to Sumanahalli Junction on Magadi Road in Bengaluru. After this roadshow, he may stay in the city that night. He will hold public meetings in Humnabad, Vijayapura and Kudachi before holding a roadshow in Bengaluru on April 29,” sources said.

“On April 30, PM Modi will address public meetings organized in Kolar, Channapatna and Mysore districts. After this, on May 2, PM Narendra Modi will campaign in Chitradurga, Vijayanagar, Sindhanur and Kalaburagi. On May 3, he will campaign for BJP candidates in Moodbidire, Karwar and Kittur,” they added.

On the lines of Gujarat’s Ahmedabad, the party has also decided to organize a mega roadshow of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly aiming to ensure victories of the party candidates.

Besides these roadshows, the BJP is likely to organise two or three additional roadshows in the state.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had the biggest-ever roadshow in Ahmedabad during the Gujarat Assembly elections last year, which covered nearly 50 km spread across 19 assembly constituencies.

The Bharatiya Janata Party’s challenge in Karnataka is to retain power, for which party president JP Nadda and Home Minister Amit Shah have already started their election campaigns.

Notably, Karnataka is the only southern state where the BJP is in power.

“The Karnataka elections are also being considered as the semi-finals of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. That’s why BJP is showing more focus on Karnataka than any other state,” sources said.

The BJP is seeking a second term in the state and has exuded confidence in returning to power with a full majority.

Karnataka will go to polls on May 10 and the votes will be counted on May 13. (ANI)

BJP Preparing Young Team To Lead K’taka’s Development Journey: Modi

With an aim to give the leadership of the state’s development to the young generation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said that the Bharatiya Janata Party is preparing a “young team” in Karnataka who will lead the state’s progress journey in the next 25 years contributing to the vision of developed India.

The Prime Minister’s remarks came while interacting with the Karnataka BJP workers virtually.
Notably, the BJP gave chances to over 50 new faces in its list of 224 candidates for the upcoming Karnataka Assembly polls, resulting in the denial of tickets to some senior leaders of the party including Jagadish Shettar, Laxman Savadi and others who ultimately quit the party and joined the Congress to get the ticket.

PM Modi, during his interaction with the BJP workers, highlighted the difference between the BJP and other parties.

“The biggest difference between the BJP and other parties is of approach. The BJP is working on the roadmap of development of India in the next 25 years. Our rivals’ agenda is to grab power, our agenda is to make the country developed in 25 years and make it free from poverty and promote the youth’s capabilities. The BJP is making a young team in Karnataka to give leadership to the development journey of the state in the next 25 years. It is our effort to make numerous global hubs in Karnataka like Bengaluru,” he said.

Responding to a question on the meaning of ‘double-engine government’ by a party worker, the Prime Minister said that it refers to the fast pace of development.

“The meaning of double-engine government is the double speed of development. Where there are BJP’s double-engine governments, it has been an experience that the poor welfare schemes are implemented with pace. There are some states which change the name of the schemes,” he said.

PM Modi said that he will physically visit Karnataka to join the BJP’s election campaign in a few days.

“I will visit Karnataka in a couple of days to receive the blessings of the people of the state. BJP leaders who have campaigned in the state have said that they received a lot of affection from the people there. This shows people’s confidence in BJP,” he said.

Karnataka is slated to go to Assembly polls on May 10, and the counting of votes will take place on May 13. (ANI)

Modi Launches Saurashtra-Tamil Sangamprashastih Book

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday launched the book ‘Saurashtra-Tamil Sangamprashastih’ by Shree Somnath Sanskrit University during the closing ceremony of ‘Saurashtra Tamil Sangamam’.

PM Modi addressed the closing ceremony via video conferencing.

According to Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), the program’s genesis lies in the vision of PM Modi of promoting the spirit of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat through initiatives that bring out and help rediscover the age-old links between people in different parts of the country. With this in mind, the Kashi Tamil Sangamam was organized earlier.

The Saurashtra Tamil Sangamam takes forward this vision by celebrating the shared culture and heritage between Gujarat and Tamil Nadu.

Centuries ago, many people migrated to Tamil Nadu from the Saurashtra region. The Saurashtra Tamil Sangamam provided an opportunity for Saurashtrian Tamils to reconnect with their roots, said the PMO statement.

The 10-day confluence saw more than 3000 Saurashtrian Tamils come to Somnath on a special train. The program began on April 17, with its closing ceremony now being held on April 26 at Somnath. (ANI)

Addressing Yuvam Conclave in Thevara, Prime Minister said, “Kerala is being harmed a lot due to the conflict between two ideologies. One ideology believes that their interest is above Kerala. Other ideology keeps a family above anything else. These two promote violence and corruption. The youth of Kerala of youth needs to work hard to defeat these two ideologies.”
“On one hand, we are working hard to increase the exports of India. On the other hand, in Kerala, some are working hard to smuggle gold. The youth of Kerala are very well aware that the people in power are playing with their future,” he added.

To unlock the true potential of India, PM Modi said it is important that we lead in every new sector. Kerala has unique culture and beauty, and Kerala can become the face of tourism in India and the world.

He said the BJP government is organizing Rozgar Melas to give permanent jobs in the government sector.

He said the central government made a separate ministry for Fisheries, and fishermen are made the beneficiaries of the Kisan credit card.

He said if infrastructure improves in Kerala, new employment opportunities will be created in the State and new industries will come and tourism will increase.

Refering to Operation Kaveri, Prime Minister lauded Union Minister Muraleedharan and said, “Due to the civil war in Sudan, many of our people are stuck there. Therefore, we have started Operation Kaveri to bring them safely. It is being overseen by the son of Kerala and the Minister of our governmnet, Muraleedharan.”

Highlighting India as a treasure trove of youth power, Prime Minister said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the youth of the country share the same wavelength and vision.

“Today, the BJP and the youth of the country share the same wavelength and vision. We bring reforms and the youth bring results. It is a strong partnership between the government and the youth. BJP has made this era, the era of youth-led development,” he said.

He said a mission becomes vibrant when there is the energy of vibrant youth behind it and when it comes to Kerala, it is so grand and beautiful that after coming here the energy increases even more.

“The previous governments did scams in every sector. On the other hand, the BJP government is creating opportunities in every sector. Through the Aatmanirbhar campaign, the youth have been afforded opportunities,” PM Modi said.

“Earlier, people used to think that nothing will change in India. However, today our country can change the entire world. Today’s Aatmanirbhar India talks about Digital India. Once upon a time, India was one of the ‘Fragile Five’ countries. However, today India is known as the fastest-growing economy. It is because of the youth, and therefore, I strongly believe in the youth of my country,” PM Modi said.

Referring to Padma awardee VP Appukutta Poduval, PM Modi said, “A few weeks ago, I met a 99-year youth from Kerala. He is a famous Gandhian, VP Appukutta Poduval, who was conferred the Padma award. We get to learn from every talent in Kerala.”

CM Mamata Banerjee is also leaving no stone unturned in closing in ranks with other parties ahead of the 2024 polls, as she met Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav at her residence in Kolkata last month. (ANI)

Sudan days after PMO meet

Safe Evacuation Of Indians From Sudan Days After PMO Meet

Some Indian nationals were evacuated among 66 citizens from 12 nations from the conflict-hit Sudan to Saudi Arabia.

The evacuation came days after External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar spoke to his Saudi Arabia counterpart and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday chaired a high-level meeting to review the security situation in Sudan.
Saudi Arabia ministry, in a statement, announced the “safe arrival” of 91 Saudi citizens and around 66 nationals representing the following nationalities Kuwait, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Tunisia, Pakistan, India, Bulgaria, Bangladesh, the Philippines, Canada, and Burkina. Faso.

Sudan is facing violence due to fighting between the army and the paramilitary forces. There are reports of violence even amid a 72-hour ceasefire.

The statement read, “In the implementation of the directives of the Kingdoms Leadership, we are pleased to announce the safe arrival of the citizens of the Kingdom who were evacuated from the Republic of Sudan as well as several nationals of brotherly and friendly countries, including diplomats and international officials, who arrived in an evacuation operation carried out by the Royal Saudi Naval Forces with the support of various branches of the armed forces.”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a high-level meeting to review the security situation in Sudan via video-conferencing on Friday.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Modi assessed the most recent developments in Sudan and received a first-hand report of the conditions on the ground, with a specific focus on the safety of over 3,000 Indian citizens presently located throughout the country.

The Prime Minister expressed his condolences on the passing away of an Indian national who tragically fell victim to a stray bullet last week.

Prime Minister Modi instructed all relevant officials to remain vigilant, closely monitoring developments and continuously evaluating the safety of Indian nationals in Sudan and extending them all possible assistance. The Prime Minister further directed the preparation of contingency evacuation plans, accounting for the rapidly shifting security landscape and the viability of various options.

The Prime Minister also emphasized the importance of maintaining close communication with neighbouring countries in the region, as well as those with significant numbers of citizens in Sudan.

Earlier, Jaishankar had a meeting on April 20 met with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres in New York and discussed the developments in Sudan.

“We had a very good meeting. Most of our meeting was on the Sudan situation. We also discussed the G20, and Ukraine conflict, but essentially it was about Sudan,” Jaishankar told ANI.

Jaishankar said that the Indian government is in continuous touch with its citizens stuck in Sudan.

“Our team in Delhi is in continuous touch with the Indians in Sudan, advising them, saying we know it’s very difficult for everybody but keep calm and don’t take unnecessary risk. I hope that the efforts will yield something very soon,” the EAM said.

Fighting has been raging between forces loyal to Sudan’s army chief Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and his deputy Mohamed Hamdan Daglo, who commands the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF).

The conflict began since a coup in 2021 between Sudan’s military leader and his deputy on the ruling council erupted derailing a plan for a transition to a civilian democracy after the fall of longtime dictator Omar al-Bashir in 2019. Elections were supposed to be held by the end of 2023. (ANI)
