Priyanka, Rahul, Soniaji Are Fearless: Robert Vadra

Slamming Bharatiya Janata Party over complaints against Congress leaders on their allegations of corruption in Madhya Pradesh, businessman Robert Vadra on Monday said that governments formed by BJP by toppling governments “will not last long” and Sonia Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Rahul Gandhi are “fearless”.

Robert Vadra, who is the husband of Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, told ANI that he was not surprised at the action of BJP government in Madhya Pradesh.

Madhya Pradesh Police have registered an FIR against “handlers” of the ‘X’ (twitter) accounts of Priyanka Gandhi,  state Congress chief Kamal Nath and party leader Arun Yadav over allegations of corruption in Madhya Pradesh government.

Robert Vadra said the more the pressure is exerted on Congress leaders by the BJP,  more strongly they will rise.

“I am not surprised. This is their method to create a perception. This was the same in Karnataka, there was ’40 per cent commission’ govt. The same is here (Madhya Pradesh). Wherever they topple government and run their own politics – that government will not go on for long and people will revolt…Priyanka is fearless, Rahul is fearless, Soniaji is fearless, we will put forth the people’s voice…They will put pressure on us either legally or through agencies or some other way. But the more pressure they put on us, the more we will rise strongly,” Robert Vadra told ANI.

Indore Police said on Saturday that a BJP office-bearer Nimesh Pathak lodged a complaint which said that “a fake letter” bearing the name of a person named, Gyanendra Awasthi, was being circulated on social media with allegations that the contractors in the state were being asked to pay 50 per cent commission.

In her tweet, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra referred to a media report and made allegations against the Shivraj Singh Chouhan government.

“A Union of Contractors in Madhya Pradesh has written a letter to the Chief Justice of the High Court complaining that payment is received only after paying 50 per cent commission in the state. The corrupt BJP government in Karnataka used to collect a 40 per cent commission. In Madhya Pradesh, BJP has gone ahead by breaking its own record of corruption. The people of Karnataka ousted the government with  40 per cent commission, now the people of Madhya Pradesh will remove the BJP government with a 50 per cent commission from power,” Priyanka said in a tweet. Modi Partition Horrors Remembrance Day

Modi Recalls Pain Of People On ‘Partition Horrors Remembrance Day’

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday remembered those who lost their lives during the partition of India and Pakistan in 1947.

“Partition Horrors Remembrance Day is an occasion to reverently remember those Indians whose lives were sacrificed in the partition of the country. Along with this, this day also reminds us of the suffering and struggle of those who were forced to bear the brunt of displacement. I salute all such people,” PM Modi said in a tweet in Hindi.

PM Modi in 2021, announced that August 14 will be observed as ‘Partition Horrors Remembrance Day’, to remind the nation of the sufferings and sacrifices of Indians during the partition in 1947.

India attained its freedom from British rule on August 15, 1947.

Independence Day, which is celebrated on 15th August every year, is a joyous and proud occasion for any nation; however, with the sweetness of freedom came also the trauma of partition.

The birth of the newly independent Indian nation was accompanied by violent pangs of partition that left permanent scars on millions of Indians.

The partition caused the largest migrations in human history affecting about 20 million people. Millions of families had to abandon their ancestral villages/towns/cities and were forced to find a new life as refugees. (ANI)

On the orders of the Chief Minister, the Education Secretary has issued a notification to keep all government, private schools and colleges closed on August 14.

The chief minister has instructed the Chief Secretary, Home Secretary as well as all district collectors to keep a close watch on the situation created due to heavy rains. The administrative staff should be alert and maintain smooth arrangements for roads, electricity and water, he said. (ANI)

‘Yoga Won’t Help If You Disregard Your Biological Rhythm’

Shakti Moudgil, a yoga therapist and a holistic health expert from Mohali, Punjab, explains why it is important to be in sync with the circadian rhythm of one’s body

Yoga is the pathway to transformation of the physical body. But aasans alone cannot improve the body, mind and soul. And so, while millions in the world may be practicing yoga, the complete benefits can only be derived through a wholistic approach to life which means taking care of the being as a whole with mind, body and spirit.

For healthy living, the mental, emotional and spiritual aspects together need to be balanced simultaneously.

There is a step-by-step approach to attaining perfect health through yoga. It is important to understand the blue print of yoga that comprises its eight limbs namely, yam, niyam, asan, pranayama, pratyahar, dharana, dhyan and samadhi. Of these, yam and niyam lay the foundation on which the super structure of yoga is built. While postures or aasans are an important aspect of yoga, they are only one part of the larger system that involves the observance of yam and niyam.

Together, they comprise the tenets of ethical behavior and personal conduct and help in character building and discipline. They are the ethical guide to living. Unless a person first adheres to making up his mind and being firm in his/her decision to abide by discipline in the practice of yoga and its tenets, complete health benefits cannot be reached.

Is it possible for a person to experience stillness in aasans/postures, if the mind is disturbed or under stress? Or if one’s mind is constantly involved in the phone and all that engages the mind with technological advancement? How can one be calm during meditation when one is full of anger? There needs to be some stability.

There definitely is a rise in the incident of heart attacks among the very young. We all know about the extremes in the lifestyle of people in this era. And we also see most people do practice yoga and still face health issues. Yoga cannot work in isolation. The problem lies in not following self-discipline and not being in sync with the circadian rhythm (CR) of the body.

The CR is the 24 hour day-night cycle that our bodies are attuned to. That’s how the human body has been designed since its evolution. When the sun rises, life springs on Earth, photosynthesis happens, nature comes alive. In human beings, just before sunrise, in the Brahm muhurat, the master clock of the body begins to get activated. And the body organ activation happens only when we follow the CR; the body organs function best when in rhythm with the sun.

After sunset, the hormone melatonin is released when the body prepares to sleep thereby regulating our sleep-wake cycle. Post sunset, it is time to honour the sleep cycle. One must try to schedule sleep latest by 9.00 pm. Consistency in sleep and waking up schedule is of utmost importance here.

Yoga and aasans work in coalition with the body’s code of conduct as well as maintaining a mindful lifestyle. Therefore, self-discipline first is mandatory for a regular and constant practice of yoga alongside meditation and the slowing down of a hectic schedule and alignment with the daily rhythms of life.

The narrator holds a masters in Yoga and helps people with energy healing techniques and mindful meditation practices

‘How I Survived 41 Fractures From My Face To Ankles’

Varuni Awasthi, 21, recounts her journey of resilience after an unfortunate fall and expresses gratitude for the medical team at Army Base Hospital which ensured her recovery:

It feels surreal to look back at the life-changing incident that altered the course of my existence. On that fateful day of 2nd May, as I leaned over my second-floor bathroom balcony in Delhi Cantonment, little did I know that I was about to face a life-threatening fall that would challenge every ounce of my strength and willpower.

The impact of the fall left me with 41 fractures, spanning from my face to my ankles. As the doctors at Army Base Hospital confirmed the severity of my injuries, I saw the worry and fear in my parents’ eyes. I could sense the weight of their emotions, and it terrified me. The daunting realization of the battle that lay ahead was both overwhelming and frightening.

But amidst the pain and uncertainty, a glimmer of hope shone through – the dedicated team of doctors led by Brigadier Amresh Ghai. Their expertise and compassion became my guiding light in the darkest of times. I found solace in the fact that I was under the care of these skilled professionals, who were committed to helping me reclaim my life.

The road to recovery was far from easy. Every step felt like an uphill climb, but the unwavering support of my parents and the medical team became the bedrock of my resilience. Their encouragement lifted my spirits, and I knew I had to fight with all my strength.

Days turned into weeks, and I witnessed the transformative power of modern medicine. The team of doctors, including Lt. Col. Tej Pratap Gupta, Lt. Col. Vivek M Philip, Col. Kiran S, Lt. Col. Ritesh Sharma, and their caring support staff, worked tirelessly to mend my broken body. With advanced technology and skilled hands, they pieced me back together, not just physically, but emotionally too.

Amidst the pain, I discovered the true essence of courage and hope. I clung to every positive thought, drawing strength from the smiling faces around me. Retired Lt. Gen. Abhay Krishna’s words resonated within me, urging me to embrace my inner warrior. Despite the trauma and agony, I found moments of joy, laughter, and hope in the hospital corridors.

As the days passed, my physical strength grew, and with it, my spirit soared. The day I stood on my feet again felt like a victorious conquest, a testament to the tenacity of the human spirit. It was a rebirth, a chance to live life anew.

Today, I stand tall, having rejoined my college and my dreams. The journey from critical condition to college was nothing short of a miracle, a testament to the power of faith and determination. My heart overflows with gratitude for the miracle of the doctors who gave me a second chance at life.

Amresh Ghai, Lt. Col. Tej Pratap Gupta, Lt. Col. Vivek M Philip, Col. Kiran S, Lt. Col. Ritesh Sharma, and their entire team, I owe my life to your untiring efforts and exceptional skills. You believed in me when I couldn’t believe in myself, and for that, I will be forever indebted.

To all those who prayed for my recovery, thank you for being the rays of hope that pierced through the darkest of nights. Your support has shown me the strength of human compassion.

To anyone facing a seemingly insurmountable challenge, I offer my story as a beacon of hope. Trust in the journey, lean on those who care for you, and never underestimate the power within you to rise above any adversity.

My life has been reshaped by this experience, and I now carry with me an unyielding sense of purpose. I embrace each day with a newfound zeal, cherishing every moment and living life to the fullest.

Today, I stand as a living testament to the miracles that can happen when courage, resilience, and unwavering support converge. From darkness to light, I emerged from the shadows, and my journey continues, an inspiration to myself and others, forever grateful for the gift of life.

Several BJP Leaders Lose Golden Tick After Changing DP To Tricolour On X

Several leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party including various chief ministers of the BJP-ruled states have lost their golden tick on social media ‘X’, formerly known as Twitter, after changing its display picture to the tricolour as part of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga campaign’.

The campaign launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi ahead of India’s 77th Independence Day encourages citizens to display the Indian flag on their social media profiles. The leaders complied with the request and changed its profile picture to the tricolour.

The leaders who lost their golden tick on ‘X’ include Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, Goa CM Dr Pramod Sawant, Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami.

BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra has also lost the golden tick on the social media platform.

The social media platform has a policy that requires verified accounts to use their real names and display pictures.

According to the platform’s amended criteria, the ‘X’ management will now review the leaders’ profile and, if it fits all of the guidelines, the blue tick will be restored.

PM Modi has also changed his display picture to the Indian tricolour as part of the campaign. However, his grey tick was not removed by the social media platform.

The golden tick is a verification mark that signifies an account is genuine and belongs to the person or organisation that it claims to represent. (ANI)

POK 4 August

14 Aug To Be Observed As ‘Black Day’ In PoK

On the occasion of the 76th anniversary of the creation of Pakistan, which is being observed on August 14, political repression is on the rise in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

Several political activists were arrested in Muzaffarabad, the capital city of PoK, on August 11 for sharing anti-Pakistan posts on social media.

They were beaten at the local police station and forced to condemn their actions and repost pro-Pakistan statements on social media. The PoK government has ordered that the Pakistan flag be hoisted on all government buildings and salutations be offered on August 14.

This is in stark contradiction to the United Nations resolutions that recognise PoK as a disputed territory.

The fact is that PoK is the only Indian Territory, which has been occupied by Pakistan since 1947. Pakistan’s repression and atrocities have increased since the abrogation of Article 370 by the Indian government on August 5, 2019, which gave the Indian Jammu and Kashmir the illusion of being a so-called special status state.

The fast-paced development and return of peace in the now union territory of Jammu and Kashmir has brought the oppressive role of Pakistan into question and youth in PoK are demanding the Pakistan army to quit PoK.

Contrary to the government of PoK, the occupied territory’s youth has issued a call for 14 August to be observed as a “Black Day’.

The Baloch people have also declared 14 August as “Black Day” in Balochistan. The Pakistan Army occupied the independent state of Baluchistan on March 28, 1947.

Ever since the Baloch population have raised arms against Pakistan on at least five occasions. Not a day passes by when Baloch rebels of different formations do not attack and kill the Pakistan army and security personnel using guerrilla war tactics.

Contrary to 14 August being observed as a Black Day, 15 August is being observed as a Great Day, and rightly so.

15 August marks the day when India won its freedom from the colonial rule of the British Empire. It was the culmination of 200 years of anti-colonial struggle from the 1757 Battle of Plassey to the great war of independence of 1857 to the naval rebellion of Sholapur in 1946.

All the above struggles against colonial rule led to the birth Indian National Congress in 1885, the Ghadar Party in 1913, the Communist Party of India in 1925, the Nationalist Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh popularly known as the RSS, a National Volunteer Organisation in 1925 and many more political and social campaign groups that fought or advocated for the liberation of Hindustan.

What makes August 15 a Great Day is the fact that on this very day, a new nation was born that came to be known as the biggest democracy in the world. It was a day when more than 500 princely states of British India joined hands to give birth to the new Republic of India.

India was partitioned by the British on August 14 culminating in the deaths of over a million people of all faiths and the displacement of no less than 10 million people.

It is known as the worst communal-based migration in the history of mankind.

August 14 can never be celebrated as a great day. It was, and remains to this day, a day that was marked with communal hate and bloodshed. The two-nation theory of Muhammad Ali Jinnah continues to this day to poison the minds of millions of people in the PoK.

A nation-state born on August 14 called Pakistan has the religion of Islam as its state religion. It has become a terrorist training camp where jihadi terrorists are trained on an industrial scale.

Pakistan has provided a safe haven for terrorists like Osama Bin Laden, Hafiz Saeed, Syed Salahuddin and the rest.

A nation-state born on August 15 called India has produced a secular constitution where all citizens are equal before the law of the land. Pakistan has a history of persecuting its religious minorities. India on the other hand has a tradition of honouring its religious and ethnic minorities.

A Muslim by the name of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam became the President of India and today the President of India is Droupadi Murmu, a member of a tribal community.

Pakistan has corrupt military and civil bureaucracies that have drained the country leading it to the brink of default. India has become the fifth largest economy in the world surpassing the United Kingdom which had colonised her.

Pakistan has nothing to feel gratified about, whereas India has every reason to be proud and hold her head high upon her broad shoulders. Pakistan has plundered the natural resources of PoK while India has enriched the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

PoK has only 2G. Jammu Kashmir has 5G. The sewage system in Muzafarabad has collapsed. Srinagar has become a smart city. Pakistan has established launch pads to infiltrate India and cause harm. India has held a G20 to uplift the union territory of J-K.

At a time when Indian citizens are celebrating their newfound prosperity, the residents of PoK are protesting out on the streets against non-payment of pensions, wheat shortages, load shedding and sliding living conditions. Therefore, for the youth of PoK, 14 August is truly a “Black Day” and 15 August is beyond a doubt a Great Day to celebrate. (ANI)
