Yogi Hikes Kanya Sumangla Yojana To Rs 25,000 From 2024

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath bestowed a significant gift upon the daughters of the state by announcing an increase of Rs 10000 in the amount of the Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangla Yojana from 2024-25.

While addressing and interacting with the beneficiaries of the ‘Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangala’ scheme at Lok Bhavan on Wednesday, the Chief Minister said, “Double Engine government is going to increase the amount of the Kanya Sumangala scheme from Rs 15,000 to Rs 25,000 from the financial year 2024-2025.”

Baby Rani Maurya, the Minister of Women’s Welfare, Child Development, and Nutrition, Pratibha Shukla, the Minister of State in charge of these issues, and other dignitaries attended the programme.

“This will make it easier for the daughters of the state to fulfill their dreams and become self-reliant along with being educated”, CM Yogi said.

In the programme, Chief Minister Yogi said that initially, under this scheme, a package of Rs 15,000 was given in six phases.

“Starting next year, as soon as a daughter is born, an amount of Rs 5,000 will be transferred to her parents’ account. Similarly, when the daughter turns one year old, Rs 2,000 will be transferred, when she enters the first grade, Rs 3,000; on entering the sixth grade, Rs 3,000; on entering the ninth grade, Rs 5,000; and if the daughter pursues a graduate, diploma, or certificate course, then an amount of Rs 7,000 will be transferred to her account,” he said.

Furthermore, the Chief Minister stated that 16.24 lakh daughters are being benefited in the state through this scheme.

CM Yogi said that today is a very important day in the direction of taking PM Narendra Modi’s ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ program to a new height.

He stated, “The double-engine government believes that a daughter is a daughter. With that daughter, there shouldn’t be any discrimination. She should get security, protection and opportunities to move forward.”

As part of the program, a few beneficiaries of the Kanya Sumangala scheme tied Rakhi to Chief Minister Yogi and performed the traditional ‘tika’ ceremony on his forehead. In return, Chief Minister Yogi offered gifts and assured them of continued protection.

During the programme, the Chief Minister transferred a sum of Rs 5.82 crore to the accounts of 29,523 beneficiary girls. He also distributed cheques to ten beneficiary girls and their parents.

Ratna Mishra, (a beneficiary) said that this has boosted her self-confidence, and now she will be able to fulfill her dreams because of the Chief Minister.

While thanking the Chief Minister, Akshara Kushwaha, a student of class 10, said that this scheme has brought a significant change in the lives of economically disadvantaged girls like her.

Shivanshi Vishwakarma, shared her aspiration to study and fulfill her dream of becoming a teacher through this scheme, expressing her gratitude to Chief Minister Yogi. (ANI)

A Partnership For Planet: French FM On India Ties

French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna said the partnership between India, and France has grown to become a partnership for the planet and Paris now seeks to build new solidarities with India in the Indian Ocean and in the Pacific.

“Our partnership with India has grown and become a partnership for the planet. We are now seeking to build new solidarities with India in the Indian Ocean and in the Pacific,” the French Foreign Minister said at the annual French Ambassadors Conference.

She said the strength of the India-France strategic partnership was vividly illustrated on July 14 when Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Paris.

“We will therefore continue to build and consolidate new partnerships based on solidarity in the years to come. Particularly in the Indo-Pacific region, where our diplomacy is asserting itself in the service of our sovereign interests, respecting the rule of law, rejecting dependence and alignment, but without ambiguity about our alliances, and therefore without equidistance,” she said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited France in July where, in a historic moment, President Emmanuel Macron bestowed the Grand Cross of the Legion of Honour on PM Modi. It is the highest French honour in military or civilian orders.

PM Modi became the first Indian premier to receive the honour.

He was hosted by President Macron and France’s first lady Brigitte Macron at the Elysee Palace.

The PM also attended the Bastille Day Parade as a Guest of Honour at the invitation of French President Macron on the Champs-Élysées.

The key highlights of PM Modi’s France visit were the MoUs signed to enhance further cooperation in the defence sector which included the first Scorpene submarine construction programme (P75 – Kalvari), a model of ‘Make-in-India’ and the sharing of naval expertise between companies in the two countries.

In a joint statement issued following PM Modi’s delegation-level talks with President Macron, both leaders applauded the collaboration between naval companies from both countries in sharing their expertise.

The leaders also expressed their satisfaction with the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between [TT3] [P4] Mazgon Dockyard Ltd and Naval Group, which outlines the construction of three additional submarines as part of the P75 program.

The Scorpene Submarines are extremely potent platforms, they have advanced stealth features and are also equipped with both long-range guided torpedoes as well as anti-ship missiles. These submarines have a state-of-the-art SONAR suite and sensor suite permitting outstanding operational capabilities.

With a view to adopting a Roadmap on Defence Industrial Cooperation between the two countries, India is setting up a Technical Office of the DRDO at its Embassy in Paris. (ANI)

Union Minister Pralhad Joshi Rahul Gandhi India China

Rahul Trusts Chinese Map Not MEA, Say: Joshi

Union Minister Pralhad Joshi on Wednesday said that Congress MP Rahul Gandhi has more faith in what China states rather than in his own country’s foreign ministry and defence ministry personnel.

While talking to ANI, Joshi slammed the Congress party and said that the latter did not have faith neither in India nor in its institutions.

“I think Rahul Gandhi can’t understand that the Ministry of External Affairs has already rejected claims on what China did, the map they issued,” the union minister said.

“What happened – if China encroached upon our land – this happened during the tenure of Jawaharlal Nehru. He is not aware of history. So, he keeps saying these things. I express my sympathies to Rahul Gandhi. He trusts the Chinese map but not what our MEA or Defence force officers deputed there,” Joshi said.

“The Nehru-Gandhi family has always trusted China more. It is their problem because they do not believe in India, they do not believe in the Supreme Court, they do not believe in Election Commission, in the Defence officials or any other institution of India. They only believe in China or Pakistan. That is their problem what can we reply to that?” Joshi said.

Earlier today Rahul Gandhi demanded a statement from Prime Minister Narendra Modi after China released its so-called “standard map” staking claim over Arunachal Pradesh and Aksai Chin.

“I have been saying for years that what the PM said, that not one inch of land was lost in Ladakh, is a lie. The entire Ladakh knows that China has transgressed. This map issue is very serious. They have taken away the land. PM should say something about it,” Rahul Gandhi said in Delhi ahead of his departure to Karnataka.

On August 28 China released the 2023 edition of its ‘standard map’ showing Arunachal Pradesh, which China claims as South Tibet and Aksai Chin occupied by it in the 1962 war as part of its territory. Taiwan and the disputed South China Sea are also included within the Chinese territory in the new map.

India on Tuesday lodged a strong protest against China rejecting claims made by Beijing and said they have no basis to claim India’s territory.

The Ministry of External Affairs said that such steps from the Chinese side would only complicate the resolution of the boundary question.

In response to media queries, the Official Spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs, Arindam Bagchi said: “We have today lodged a strong protest through diplomatic channels with the Chinese side on the so-called 2023 “standard map” of China that lays claim to India’s territory.”

“We reject these claims as they have no basis. Such steps by the Chinese side only complicate the resolution of the boundary question,” he added.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar also stated that it is an “old habit” of China to stake claim on territories that do not belong to them. In an interview with a television channel, the foreign minister dismissed Beijing’s “absurd claims” and said “putting out a map does not mean anything.”

“China has put out maps with territories (that are) not theirs. (It is an) old habit. Just by putting out maps with parts of India… this doesn’t change in anything,” Jaishankar said, adding, “Our government is very clear about what our territories are. Making absurd claims does not make other people’s territories yours.”

Congress leader Pawan Khera also slammed the Bharatiya Janata Party-led Centre and said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave a “clean chit” to China.

However, this is not the first time that Beijing has employed such tactics.

In April this year, China had unilaterally “renamed” as many as 11 Indian locations, which included names of mountain peaks, rivers and residential areas.

Previously in 2017 and 2021, China’s Civil Affair Ministry had renamed other Indian locations triggering another political confrontation. New Delhi called out China’s expansionist plans then. (ANI)

Lok Sabha MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury

Suspension From LS: Cong’s Adhir Leaves To Record Statement Before Privileges Committee

Senior Congress leader and Lok Sabha MP, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury left his New Delhi residence on Wednesday afternoon to record his statement before the Parliament’s Privileges Committee in connection with his suspension from the Lok Sabha.

The Congress leader was earlier scheduled to record his statement before the parliamentary panel at 12.30 pm.

Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi had tabled a motion seeking Chowdhury’s suspension citing disruptive behaviour.

He was alleged to have indulged in disruptive behaviour when Prime Minister Narendra Modi and members of the Union cabinet were addressing the House during the Monsoon Session earlier this month.

“Oral evidence of Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, MP in connection with motion/resolution adopted by the House on 10 August 2023 leading to his suspension from the service of the House and referring the matter to the Committee of Privileges for further investigation and report to the House,” read the agenda of the Privileges Committee.

The resolution to suspend Chowdhury from the Lower House was passed by a voice vote.

The parliamentary panel will examine Chowdhury’s statement in connection with his suspension and submit a report to the House through the chairman of the committee.

Sunil Singh, a BJP MP from Jharkhand, is the chairman of the Privileges Committee.“The committee does not believe in taking maximum days in any case of suspension of MPs in the said matter. It will conduct the inquiry in a time-bound manner and submit the report at the earliest.” (ANI)

Prigozhin A Saint; Modi And Mughal Fort; Chandrayya3

Prigozhin A Saint; Modi And Mughal Fort; Chandrayaan3

Prigozhin The Saint?

The Ukraine war or special operations, depending on which side of the Ukraine LOC one is, has been quite transformative for some people from a western patronage. First the AZOV brigade that was demonised as Nazis by no less than the BBC and The Guardian among others in the west, suddenly became baptised by remote control by the same media into democratic liberal angels when Putin decided to destroy them. It was the fastest metamorphosis of character and needed no psychiatric treatment pathway for rehabilitation. All that happened was that Putin also classified them as Nazis.

A similar baptism seems to have taken place posthumously of Prigozhin the mercenary leader who vanquished in a plane blast. So much coverage has been given to him in the western press that one might be mistaken to think the man was a NATO war hero. In fact more media coverage seems to have been accorded to him than given to the late Queen of England when she passed away.

Reams and reams and multitude of webpages go on about the unforgiving Putin having killed him in revenge. Prigozhin’s plane fell off after what is thought to be a bomb blast and some say missile attacks. Only three months ago media coverage of him was ‘Putin’s dog’ or evil mercenary knowing no ethics or morals. But two months ago this attention seeking man led an unsuccessful armed mutiny against Putin and the Russian government. He became an overnight darling of the ‘Ethics R us’ liberal media in the West.

The ever strategic Putin appears to have played him along, giving him new missions to bomb and spread Wagner evil in the world, while plotting to dismantle Wagner. Prigozhin’s mercenary group got renewed contracts in Africa.

Lately they started to gang up on the Polish border to intimidate Poland. Poland put its forces on alert at the Poland-Belarus border triggering fears of the Ukraine war spilling into an all-out NATO-Russia war, effectively The Third World War. There is no evidence that Putin or Belarus’s Lukashenko were on in this madness. Prigozhin and his massive and well equipped force was obviously out of control and opening a new and dangerous front in the war as a populist move without bothering with the Kremlin. He Prigozhin was his own man and he decided strategy on impulse. His death might have averted a dangerous twist to the Ukraine conflict.

However the tone of much of western media is that he was hard done by Putin, that he was a possible challenge to Putin and could precipitate the end of Putin regime.  He has been promoted as a maverick, a rough person who didn’t fit in the polished elite of the Kremlin and who has been ditched despite the enormous work he did for Russia. There is a sort of adulation of him.

Prigozhin’s speciality was to tape down any man in his outfit suspected of desertion or treason, then crack the skull with a sledgehammer. The sledgehammer was his Wagner group’s logo. His mercenary troops use that and many other brutal methods against ‘enemies’ identified by their paymasters to cause fear. Brutality was their trademark. No human rights there.

Yet none of the headlines sighed that an evil brutal mercenary is dead. There have been obituaries, analysis stating how this ‘assassination’ could lead to end of Putin regime and there has been a queue of western leaders, including Biden, pointing the finger at Putin for this man’s death as if this was the greatest loss to world peace and a travesty of justice. But none saying Putin, if he was indeed behind this death, has done human kind a favour. Extraordinary.

Interesting how western liberals recast the biggest villains into almost saints. All they have to do is be on the wrong side of Putin and evil can be washed away in a second in the western liberal Church. Welcome to the world of liberal soul washing.

Modi And The Invaders’ Qila

Standing atop Lal Qila (Red Fort) proud on Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi lamented that India had been under foreign rule for thousand years until 1947 when another Gujarati threw out the last invaders by simply marching up and down in streets and taking a few lathis. A long list of great Hindu rulers were cited by Modi ji as the pedigree to his ascent. Except the man who built the fort where Modiji made his speech, Emperor Shajahan. Or the other Mughals who added to the might and splendour of Lal Qila.

Why do Indian leaders stand triumphantly at the Red Fort while attacking those who built it. Why didn’t Modiji stand on top of his magnificent new parliament building which will be his legacy to an Indian list of wonders of the world architecture but is really a homage to Pythagoras. Or stand on top of gigantic statue of Vallabhbhai Patel from which one can climb on to the clouds. Word has it if a Jack Beanstalk plant is placed on the top of Patel’s head, it is only a short climb to the moon. That could have saved a lot of money on Chandrayaan-3

If the derided invaders did nothing else, at least they built the platform on which every Indian leader stands tall, pretending to be warrior and conqueror. So far the Fort is safe. The Bhakts haven’t yet got around to conjure up a temple underneath although the Architecture Survey of India have found some pottery dating back 2500 years BC. Will that be enough to demolish the Fort and replace it with Modi Qila? Then Mughal history can be wiped out. As it is, Mughals are in the face whether BJP likes it or not.

It won’t be the first time the idea of razing the fort will have happened. The British, before they became semi-cultured, destroyed 80% of the Qila’s magnificent buildings. The British also wanted to demolish Taj Mahal as they thought it was a waste of marble. Luckily the Captain of the forces got distracted with another war.

Did Chandrayaan-3 Fulfil Its Mission?

All I want to know is whether Chandrayaan-3 found if the moon is into ‘pue pakayeen boor ke’. And is Chandamama really eating in a thali while most Indian kids eat in a pyali. No doubt these and other things will be revealed to us by scientists once the pictures are looked at carefully.

For those who were born for and nurtured by social media and missed this, there is an old and beautiful lyric. Many a child grew listening and singing to this.

Chandamama Door ke
Pue Pakaayen boor ke
Aap khaaen Thali mein
Munne ko daen Pyaali mein

Mayawati On Religious Conversion

INDIA, NDA Both Anti-Poor, Casteist: Mayawati

Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati dismissed speculations of joining any alliance said her party will “single-handedly” contest the 2024 general elections.

“BSP, like in 2007, will single-handedly contest the upcoming general elections and four state assemblies by connecting crores of neglected and scattered people of the society on the basis of mutual brotherhood, rather than the ‘jugaad’ and manipulation done by opponents,” Mayawati posted on ‘X’ app today.

The former Uttar Pradesh chief minister dismissed speculations that the BSP may join the Opposition alliance bloc INDIA and urged the media not to spread fake news.

Further coming down heavily on the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and the Opposition bloc- INDIA, Mayawati said that, unlike BSP, most of the parties of both coalitions are “anti-poor, casteists and capitalists”.

“Policies of most of the parties of NDA and INDIA alliance are anti-poor, casteist, communal, pro-‘Dhanna Seth’ (capitalists) and the BSP has been continuously fighting against them. The question of contesting elections in alliance with them does not arise. Hence appeal to the media – no fake news please,” the BSP chief said.

Assembly elections are set to be held in Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh and Telangana later this year.

BSP had won six assembly seats in the 2018 Rajasthan assembly election. During the polls, the party had increased its vote share to 4 per cent up from 3.37 per cent in 2013. In Madhya Pradesh, BSP polled 5.01 per cent votes and won two seats in 2018. In the 2018 Chhattisgarh assembly elections, the BSP polled 3.87 per cent votes and won two seats.

Meanwhile, in an apparent jibe at the INDIA bloc, Mayawati in her post on X said that the Opposition alliance considers only those who join them to be ‘secular’ and if you don’t you are considered to be with the BJP.

“This is grossly unfair,” she said referring to the Hindi proverb. “Khisyani billi khamba noche” (A cat not able to catch mice will scratch the pillar in frustration) loosely translates to an embarrassed or ashamed person tends to vent his/her feeling by quarrelling. (ANI)

Arvind Kejriwal INDIA Priyanka Kakkar

I Want Kejriwal To Be PM Candidate: AAP Spokesperson Priyanka

Setting the cat among the pigeons ahead of the third meeting of the Opposition bloc — Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) — Aam Admi Party (AAP) spokesperson Priyanka Kakkar on Wednesday said she would want party convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to be the alliance’s prime ministerial candidate.

Speaking to ANI on Wednesday, Kakkar said, “If you ask me, I would want Arvind Kejriwal to be the Prime Ministerial candidate (of the Opposition alliance).”

She added that the AAP convenor has been highlighting issues of the public and has emerged as a credible challenger to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s hold on the country’s highest office. “Be it the PM’s academic records or qualifications or any other issue, Arvind Kejriwal has been putting across his views boldly on myriad subjects,” Kakkar told ANI.

However, even as her remark threatened to rock the Opposition boat ahead of the Mumbai meeting, which kicks off later on Wednesday and will carry over into Thursday, the AAP leader said INDIA was working to steer the country in a new direction.

She claimed that even amid the rising prices of essential commodities and food items, the national capital has the “lowest” inflation.

“Our government provides free water, free education, free electricity, free bus rides for women, and free pilgrimage for the elderly. And, yet we presented a surplus budget. He (Kejriwal) raises people’s issues and has emerged as a challenger (to PM Narendra Modi),” the AAP spokesperson added.

A total of 26 to 27 parties are likely to participate in the third meeting of the newly formed opposition alliance in Mumbai.

The INDIA partners are scheduled to hold a joint meeting on September 1 in Mumbai.

The meeting will see discussions on the bloc’s strategies ahead of the upcoming state elections and the all-important general elections next year. The logo of the Opposition alliance is also likely to be unveiled during the two-day meeting.

A total of 26 parties, including the Congress, came together against the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) at the Centre.

The inaugural meeting of the alliance was convened by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in Patna on June 23.

The second meeting of the group was hosted at Bengaluru in Congress-ruled Karnataka on July 17-18. (ANI)

MEA Pakistan India

India Rejects Claims Made By China In Standard Map, Calls It Baseless

Lodging a strong protest against China, India on Tuesday rejected claims made by Beijing in the so-called “standard map” and said they have no basis to claim India’s territory.

The map released on August 28 by Beijing shows Arunachal Pradesh which China claims as South Tibet and Aksai Chin occupied by it in the 1962 war as part of its territory. The map also stakes claim over Taiwan and the disputed South China Sea.

The map also incorporates China’s claims over the nine-dash line thus laying claim to a large part of the South China Sea. Vietnam, the Philippines, Malaysia, and Brunei have all claims over the South China Sea areas.

It was released by China’s Ministry of Natural Resources during the celebration of Surveying and Mapping Publicity Day and the National Mapping Awareness Publicity Week on Monday in Deqing county, Zhejiang province, as per China Daily newspaper.

Recently Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Xi Jinping met on the sidelines of the BRICS Summit in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra had said that during a conversation with President Xi Jinping, Prime Minister Modi highlighted India’s concerns on unresolved issues along the Line of Actual Control.

“The Prime Minister underlined that maintenance of peace and tranquillity in the border areas and observing and respecting the LAC are essential for the normalisation of the India-China relationship. In this regard, two leaders agreed to direct their relevant officials to intensify efforts at expeditious disengagement and de-escalation,” Kwatra had said.

This is not the first time that Beijing has employed such tactics.

In April this year, China had unilaterally “renamed” as many as 11 Indian locations, which included names of mountain peaks, rivers and residential areas. (ANI)
