Leader of Congress in the Lok Sabha, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury on Wednesday said that Rahul Gandhi will speak on the No Confidence Motion in Lok Sabha today.

“Rahul Gandhi will speak today. He will begin from our side at 12 noon,” said Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury.

Gandhi, whose Lok Sabha membership was restored recently, will speak during debate on the no-confidence motion against the BJP-led government.

MP Gaurav Gogoi had on Tuesday begun the discussions after the Congress party tabled the motion of no confidence in the Lower House on Tuesday.

The Congress said that it was forced to move the motion against the governemt in order to break PM Narendra Modi’s “maun vrat” (vow of silence) on Manipur. (ANI)

US former President Donald Trump America

Trump Vows To Launch ‘Largest Domestic Deportation Operation’ If Elected

US former President Donald Trump, on Tuesday, said that if he is elected again then will use all necessary state, local, federal, and military resources to carry out the “largest domestic deportation operation in American history”.

Addressing the campaign event in New Hampshire on Tuesday, Trump said, “Our country is being invaded. Following the Eisenhower-Howard model, we will use all necessary state, local federal and military resources to carry out the largest domestic deportation operation in American history. Gotta do it.”

In New Hampshire, he also tried to show that he has sacrificed for the people of the US and said, “I’m being indicted for you,” according to the New York Times.

“They want to take away my freedom because I will never let them take away your freedom,” adding, “They want to silence me because I will never let them silence you,” Trump said.

in his speeches and social media posts, Trump had repeatedly tried to cast himself as a “martyr” who is taking hits from Democrats and the government on their behalf, according to the New York Times.

Lorraine Rudd, who attended Trump’s appearance in New Hampshire, said that after his third indictment last week, in a point-by-point 45-page account of his efforts to overturn the 2020 election, she felt that she, too, could be wrongly prosecuted.

“If they can do it to him and take him down, they can come for me,” Ms Rudd, a 64-year-old Massachusetts resident, said.

She said she firmly agreed with Trump’s false claim that he won the 2020 election. “What, am I next?” she said.

On August 3, the day of his third indictment, for seeking to overturn the 2020 election, Trump posted on his social media site that facing fraud and obstruction charges in Washington was an “honour” because, as he wrote in all caps, “I am being arrested for you.”

Portraying himself as a victim of the criminal justice system, and echoing themes from when he faced an investigation over Russian influence in the 2016 campaign and his first impeachment, has served to consolidate Republican support around Trump. (ANI)

Japan and South Korea Typhoon Khanun

Japan, South Korea Brace For Powerful Typhoon Khanun

Japan and South Korea are bracing themselves for powerful Typhoon Khanun as it is moving slowly towards both countries.

According to Kyodo News Agency, the typhoon brought heavy rain to parts of Japan’s southwestern main island of Kyushu on Wednesday as it moved slowly near the region, causing power outages and suspensions of shinkansen bullet train services.

The Typhoon may cause mudslides, floods and strong winds while linear rainbands, known to bring torrential downpours, could develop in southern and northern Kyushu as well as Amami-Oshima Island, according to the Japan Meteorological Agency.

Meanwhile, South Korea said that Typhoon is on a path to make landfall on the country’s southern coast and pass vertically across the Korean Peninsula, Yonhap News Agency said.

The Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) said that the typhoon was advancing towards Jeju Island’s Seogwipo at 9 am with a central pressure of 970 hectopascals and maximum wind speeds of up to 35 meters per second.

It is also predicted that the typhoon will maintain its northward advance to reach waters 120 km south of the southern coastal city of Tongyeong at 3 am on Thursday and make landfall in the country later that morning, according to the agency.

When it reaches South Korea, the typhoon will remain “strong” in intensity, bringing winds faster than 15 meters per second in its 340 km radius and faster than 25 meters per second in a 120 km radius, the KMA said.

The typhoon may travel to the central city of Cheongju at 3 pm on Thursday and pass as close as 30 km east of Seoul at 9 p.m. the same day before crossing the inter-Korean border to reach 120 km southeast of the North Korean capital of Pyongyang at 3 am Friday, the agency said.

Looking at the condition of the weather in the region, several flights were grounded Wednesday on Jeju Island and in Busan, reported Yonhap News Agency.

Jeju International Airport reported that out of the 487 flights scheduled for Wednesday, 69 had been cancelled as of 9 am.

All passenger ships from and to the island were also suspended, maritime authorities said, with operations expected to resume Friday.

Warnings of a typhoon, strong winds and heavy rain have been issued for the island and its offshore waters.

In the southern port city of Busan, a total of 47 flights, mostly bound for Jeju, were cancelled on Tuesday and Wednesday, and all passenger ship services were halted.

The city was forecast to experience heavy rainfall, ranging from 40 to 60 millimetres per hour, from Wednesday afternoon to Thursday morning, as per Yonhap News Agency. (ANI)

Niger: US Warns Military Junta Of Consequences If Constitution Is Not Restored

US State Department Matthew Miller said that Acting Secretary Victoria Nuland met with leaders of the junta in Niger, making it clear that there would be consequences if they didn’t return to the diplomatic path.

Miller also added that there are hundreds of millions of dollars of US assistance at stake in Niger.

Miller was asked after the acting Deputy Secretary Victoria Nuland’s meetings with the Junta Military members if there was any idea where things are going.

Replying to the question, US State Department Spokesperson Matthew Miller said, “Acting Secretary Nuland met yesterday with leaders of the junta and made clear that there was a diplomatic path forward for them if they would choose a return to constitutional order.”

“She also made clear that there would be consequences if they didn’t, that there are hundreds of millions of dollars of U.S. assistance at stake,” Miller added.

Miller further informed that Nuland didn’t achieve any breakthroughs and it’s not at all clear that the Junta Military will choose the diplomatic path forward.

He also informed that Nuland also met with civil society leaders, leaders of NGOs while she was in Niger.

The new military leaders of Niger have rejected diplomatic efforts by the United States, the United Nations, and regional organisations to resolve a problem brought on by a coup in the West African country. This has dimmed expectations that civilian authority will be reinstated soon, The New York Times reported.

The acting US deputy secretary of state went unannounced to Niger, although she only stayed for conversations with one of the coup leaders, which she called “extremely frank and at times quite difficult.”

The general she spoke with was regarded as a close US military ally and had received his training there. But according to Nuland, he gave no guarantees that civilian rule or the reinstatement of Niger’s President Mohamed Bazoum. She was also refused a meeting with Gen. Abdourahmane Tchiani, the head of the junta, according to The New York Times.

The situation in Niger has threatened to derail years of Western security and aid assistance to one of the world’s poorest countries and a key ally in a region stricken by widespread instability that has been the site of seven military takeovers in less than three years. (ANI)

Ravi Shankar Prasad BJP Congress

Dynastic Politics Is Inherently Undemocratic, Ravi Shankar On ‘Parivarvad’

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Ravi Shankar Prasad on Wednesday hit out at the “dynastic politics” stating that it is inherently undemocratic and severely compromises the talent coming into a political party.

Addressing a press conference in the national capital, the  BJP MP said, “The meaning of family dynasty is that a son or daughter of a leader will become the leader of the party. Not just a leader but he will either become a PM or CM or a candidate for the PM or CM post irrespective of their capability. Family rule is inherently undemocratic and irresponsible.”

Targetting Rahul Gandhi, Prasad asked whether the Congress leader was capable of becoming a leader of a country like India.

“Packaging and re-packaging of Rahul Gandhi keep going on. But does the Congress party ever think of Rahul Gandhi as capable of becoming a leader of a country like India? No matter what, Rahul is the Congress candidate of Prime Minister,” he said.

“In Bihar and Uttar Pradesh we see the same situation. In Bihar Tejashwi is aspiring to be Chief Minister, in West Bengal Mamata’s nephew is in line for the post. The same goes for Tamil Nadu. This leaves no room for the aspiration of ordinary cadres of the party. Family rule is undemocratic,” he added.

Prasad also spoke on Prime Minister’s Narendra Modi’s tweet today on ‘Quit India’ stating that if the democratic fabric of the country is to be safeguarded, the ills of family rule, corruption and appeasement have to quit India.

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi has started an important campaign, Pararvad Quit India, Corruption Quit India and Appeasement politics Quit India. Rampant family rule, quit India, stinking corruption quit India, appeasement politics quit India,” the BJP MP said.

Earlier today, in a tweet on the anniversary of the historic movement, the PM took a jibe at the opposition I.N.D.I.A alliance.

“Tributes to the greats who took part in the Quit India Movement. Under the leadership of Gandhi Ji, this Movement played a major role in freeing India from colonial rule. Today, India is saying in one voice: Corruption Quit India. Dynasty Quit India. Appeasement Quit India,” PM Modi tweeted.

Quit India Movement, also known as the “Bharat Chodo Andolan”, was launched by Mahatma Gandhi on August 9, 1942.

Meanwhile, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has said it will launch the ‘Quit India’ campaign against the Opposition bloc and will hold a protest later in the day. (ANI)

Rahul In Mizoram

Amazing Grace – In Victory or Defeat

It’s been a bad week for the fake messiah and the party he leads with such unilateral and unquestioned power. It’s even more bad news for all his fanatic loyalists, including the fake news stooge media. The point is, they are not going to change. And, since they are not going to change, it’s going to be one bad news after another for them in the days to come.

Countdown: 2024.

As expected, Rahul Gandhi is back after four months. Not only that, his house has been restored to him with dignity. “Sara Hindustan mera ghar hai,” he was gracious in his response to reporters.

While the PM has scored a badly-timed, self-goal in this quick, desperate and unthinking revenge action, soon after Rahul Gandhi’s extraordinary speech in Parliament on the Hindenberg Report and Gautam Adani’s not-so-mysterious links with his best buddy in the BJP, there is no doubt that in the battle of political perception, the young leader has emerged as a winner, which will only help consolidate his current popularity, which is on a high. With he, and INDIA, the Opposition alliance, making no tactical mistake in their fast-forward, consensual strategy of ‘one-step back and two steps forward’, it is once again — Advantage Rahul.

For one, Indians hate revenge politics, except, of course, blood-thirsty lumpens and mobsters who have been recently let loose by sundry Hindutva forces in ‘capitalist’ Gurgaon and Mewat – perhaps one of the most backward regions of the country. Surely, when it comes to bloodletting, loot and plunder, and organized hate politics, the hydra-headed Hindutva fronts make no distinction between a post-modern affluent society and those on the abysmal margins. An eye for an eye, as the saying goes, is not the Indian cup of tea.

There was outrage and shock at the sudden and crude manner in which Rahul Gandhi was removed from the Parliament, and, as quickly, shunted out of his home, compelling him to move to his mother’s house. Several people, thereby, put up placards outside their homes across the country, declaring that their home, henceforth, belongs to the Congress leader, and that their doors are eternally open for him.

The vindictive move has predictably boomeranged, with the BJP getting egg all over its face, especially its one-dimensional leader, now on the last phase of his faded and jaded power and popularity, keeping stunningly silent on crucial issues like a ravaged Manipur, or, a burning Nuh, or, the harassment and hounding of our world champion women wrestlers — while speaking in clichéd riddles which are simply not striking a chord with the masses. Clearly, his speech-writers, too, seem to have lost the plot.

Second, and this is real bad news for the BJP. After the massive success of the Bharat Jodo Yatra from Kanyakumari to Kashmir, which created a storm of goodwill for Rahul Gandhi and the Congress across the nation, and led to a decisive drubbing of the BJP in Karnataka, Rahul Gandhi is reportedly embarking on another long march – from Gujarat to Meghalaya. This has been disclosed by a top Congress leader in Maharashtra, which will host the next big INDIA meet in the end of September, with the Shiv Sena playing host.

ALSO READ: Can A United I.N.D.I.A. Defeat Modi?

It is no one’s guess that the two weakest links in the Opposition paradigm are UP and Gujarat. Both have been lost decisively, again and again, with the BJP scoring big wins. With the incumbent BJP leadership in Gujarat extremely weak, and with the fading charisma of their original Gujarati mascot as transparent as ever, there is no reason that the Congress can’t make a reasonable breakthrough in many parts of the state, especially in its old strongholds, like in the tribal areas. A long march through the state will mark an emotional connect with the masses, rejuvenate the shrinking and disorganized Congress, and send a message that all is not well in the homeland of the ‘great helmsman’.

As for Manipur, apart from allegations of a drug cartel with links to the very top by a former woman police officer who has been awarded the Gallantry Award, the no-trust move against the PM for his uncanny silence on its devastated people, thousands of them homeless and many still struggling for justice, might not be a total lost cause for the Opposition. It will certainly lose the motion, but the message will go loud and clear that the double-engine sarkar has yet again derailed, and this promise is as fake as most other fake promises. Besides, the BJP, not a force in most of the Northeast, barring forming state governments by hook or crook, will, consequently, lose support in most of the seven sister states.

If Chief Minister Biren Singh has been trying to implement the ‘Gujarat model’ replete with relentless revenge, and organized mob actions tacitly backed by the security forces, including the beastly enactment of violence and assault against Kuki women, than this too must boomerang in the days to come. Sadly, the people of Manipur will continue to pay a heavy price for electing a man who so abjectly lacks humanity, compassion and the basic skills of good governance. Indeed, why the PM continues to protect him, like he does Brijbhushan Singh, remains yet another unsolved riddle.

Now, Manipur might be far away. However, Nuh and Gurgaon are so close to the capital of India. The hell-fire, bloodletting and war-cries out there can be clearly heard in Delhi, and, it yet again reflects the collapse of the double-engine regime in Haryana. Amidst this polarizing divide, people from both the communities have suffered huge damage, and there have been cases, when, in the mayhem of loot and plunder, Hindus have robbed Hindus of their precious belongings. Even while communities have chosen to protect each other, defying the mob.

If a history-sheeter like Monu Manesar is the new Frankenstein they wanted to create, and repeat the damned social engineering they successfully did in the harmonious society of Western UP before the 2014 parliamentary elections, it was decisively defeated, once again, by the united strength and collective of the farmers. In huge Mahapanchayats held in Kot and Jind in Haryana, farmers, across the caste and religion kaleidoscope, wowed to defeat the monsters and not allow the social harmony among the communities to be destroyed — come what may.

This was a repeat of similar Mahapanchayats held earlier in UP, Haryana and Punjab in support of the women wrestlers, and the collective chorus in resounding symphony of Allah-u-Akbar and Har Har Mahadev, in a massive, historic and unprecedented rally in Muzaffarnagar, during the farmers’ great and glorious movement against the three farm bills.

In any case, according to locals who spoke to this reporter, the BJP might bite the dust in both the assembly and Lok Sabha polls in Haryana, and Dushyant Chautala’s fledgling outfit might just be finished. The way they treated the ‘Haryana ki Beti’ – dragging the women wrestlers on the streets of Delhi so close to the new Parliament building with the PM presiding over it like a mythical monarch, has resulted in intense anger in Haryana, especially among mothers and daughters. The medalist wrestlers have become a role model and an inspiration in the state, and the cops assaulting them, while continuously protecting a BJP bahubali, will have its serious share of negative repercussions for the Hindutva party.

Undoubtedly, the return of Rahul Gandhi marks a turning point in contemporary India’s brutalized democracy. It’s a sign of enduring optimism amidst the sinister and diabolical shadows of evil which have stalked the nation since the summer of 2014. One only fervently hopes that it will also mark the return of truly ‘new India’ where the deathly fires of hate will give way to the healing serenity of love, compassion and humanism.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma Laws To Stop Love Land Jihad Himanta

Cong Has Blood On Its Hand In The Northeast: Sarma

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday blamed the Congress’ “divide and rule” policy for the unrest in the Northeast. He said that Congress created new states in the Northeast but did not demarcate their boundaries properly which resulted in “states fighting each other”.

“I want to ask Congress party that you have created state of Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Mizoram and Meghalaya. Why you have not created boundary at the time of the creation of the state. Why you have left us without demarcating boundaries properly. Today we are fighting among ourselves,” Himanta Biswa said during a press conference.

“The entire policy of the Congress party was to communities fight amongst themselves. states fight among themselves. Intra religious fight takes place. So that Congress can rule Northeast by divide and rule policy. That was the hallmark of the Congress party in the entire region from 1962,” he added.

Saying that there were frequent border clashes between Assam and Nagaland during Congress rule, he accused Congress of having had “blood on its hand” as far as Northeast region is concerned.

“During the Congress period there was a border clash between Assam and Nagaland. There was series of border clashes. The Congress hands so far Northeast region is concerned are full with blood whether it is Nagaland, Mizoram, Assam, Manipur or other parts of the Northeastern region,” CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said.

Himanta Biswa Sarma alleged that root cause in the Manipur ethnic clash is the Congress’ policy in the past. Today Manipur, Assam are crying because of Congress’s mishandle of the Northeast.

The chief Minister claimed that no one can question love and affection of Prime Minister Narendra Modi towards the northeast.

“PM visited 60 times to North East. He is the person who gave connectivity in the North East,” Assam CM said. (ANI)

Preity G Zinta

My Kids Are Jadoo In My Life, Says Preity

Actor Preity G Zinta has been enjoying her motherhood phase to the fullest. She and her husband Gene Goodenough were blessed with twins Gia and Jai in 2021.

In a recent conversation with ANI, Preity gave a sneak peek into her journey as a parent. She revealed that she plays ‘Koi…Mil Gaya’ title track to make her little ones sleep.

“The title track, ‘Koi…Mil Gaya’ is something I play when my kids don’t go to sleep, it helps calm them down,” Preity shared, describing her children as “jadoo” (magic).

Interestingly, Preity shared this cute little detail about her kids’ bedtime on the sidelines of the 20th anniversary of ‘Koi Mil Gaya’. The film, in which Preity played the role of Hrithik Roshan’s love interest, completed 20 years on Tuesday.

Revisiting memories from the sets of ‘Koi Mil Gaya’, Preity shared a funny anecdote of her getting irritated by Hrithik.

“I remember the first day of shoot, I was irritated that Hrithik was late and suddenly someone tapped on my shoulder, I turned to see and it was Hrithik in Rohit’s look. He was completely unrecognisable and I was surprised to see him. It only then struck me that Hrithik was on set all along, it was just that I did not recognise him,” she recalled.

“‘Koi…Mil Gaya’ is a film I will always treasure as it celebrates friendship and I worked on it with my friend Hrithik, and all the wonderful people like Rakesh ji, Rekha Ma’am, and all the lovely kids. I had a lot of fun during the shoot and this is a film I will always hold close to my heart,” she added.

Preity and Hrithik have worked together in ‘Mission Kashmir’ and ‘Lakshya’ as well. It’s been years since the two have shared screen space together but till date, they share a great friendship.

Speaking about her bond with Hrithik, Preity said, “It’s always fun dancing and filming a song alongside Hrithik, be it ‘Bhumbro’ or ‘Idhar Chala, Main Udhar Chala’. Both the songs are very different, while ‘Bhumbro’ has us performing the Kashmiri folk dance in a specific style, ‘Idhar Chala, Main Udhar Chala’ has us dancing carefree and just having fun in the rain. The chemistry of course was very different in both these songs, ‘Bhumbro’ was two estranged lovers performing together, while ‘Idhar Chala Main, Udhar Chala’ was about two friends in a conversational dance and forming a connection,” she said.

“Hrithik is a very close friend of mine and I love him. But I respected him more after working with him and seeing his dedication and hard work. Everyone I’ve worked with are all my friends now. Whenever we meet, it’s always great to see each other, of course,” she added. (ANI)
