Pilot congres key meeting

Rajasthan: Gehlot, Pilot To Attend Key Cong Meet Today

Congress leader Sachin Pilot will be part of a key meeting of the state party leadership, which will also feature Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, indicating that the two feuding heavyweights of the ruling party may finally be burying the hatchet ahead of the crucial Assembly polls at the end of this year.

The meeting of the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC), which is scheduled to be held virtually at 11 am on Thursday, will also feature PCC Chief Govind Singh Dotasara, cabinet ministers, and the All India Congress Committee (AICC) in-charge of Rajasthan, Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa.
The meeting will be held via Zoom.

This will be the first meeting where the two leaders, who have been locked in a bitter and protracted power tussle, will come face to face since their differences came to the surface.

While they have been making public statements against each other, with the party high command seemingly at pains to broker a truce, Pilot, in the recent past, escalated his attack against the Gehlot government, demanding that it makes good on its promise to order a probe against the alleged corruption under former chief minister Vasundhara Raje Scindia.

He also took out a ‘Jan Sangharsh Yatra’ to raise public awareness on his demand and step up pressure on the Ghelot government to live up to its promise to the people.

Earlier, on May 29, in view of the persisting war of words between the two leaders, Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge had summoned CM Gehlot and his former deputy for separate meetings in the national capital.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also attended the meeting at the party’s headquarters in the national capital.

Earlier, on May 15, Pilot issued an ultimatum to the Congress government to probe the alleged paper leak scam during the previous Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) rule in the state.

He warned the Gehlot government of agitations if his demand wasn’t met in a month.

He raised three key demands, threatening the government with protests if they were not acted upon in a month’s time. These were disbanding and reorganising the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC), which hit the headlines in the wake of the alleged paper leak case, compensation to the affected candidates, and a high-level inquiry into the alleged scam under the Vasundhara Raje government.

He alleged that there was loot and corruption under Raje’s rule.

“Ashok Gehlot saheb also levelled allegations (against the BJP government) while in the Opposition. Today four and a half years (of the government) have been completed but the promises made have not been fulfilled,” Pilot said earlier, adding that he wrote several letters to CM Gehlot.

“I went on a fast in Jaipur, but when nothing happened. Now, I will go to the people through the Jan Sangharsh Yatra,” he had said. (ANI)

‘Jab Tak Chal Rahi Hai Chalayenge…’ Rahul’s T-Shirt; BJP Jibes ‘Shehzada’

Former Congress chief Rahul Gandhi who has found himself been the subject of scrutiny for choosing to don a T-shirt even during the ongoing cold wave in North India was once again spotted wearing a tee shirt at the party’s 138th Foundation Day celebrations in the national capital.

Former party chief Sonia Gandhi was also among those who participated in the Congress party’s Foundation Day celebrations at the All India Congress Committee headquarters here.
“T-shirt hi chal rahi hai aur jab tak chal rahi hai chalayenge…” (Will wear it as long as I can), Rahul was head responding to a question by a reporter at the venue.

The former Congress chief was on Monday seen similarly dressed in a T-shirt as he visited the memorials of Mahatma Gandhi and several former prime ministers to pay his tributes.

The BJP’s IT head Amit Malviya took to Twitter today to share a video of the conversation and took a jibe at the Congress leader.

Earlier on Monday, Congress leader Salman Khurshid said, “Rahul Gandhi is superhuman. While we are freezing in the cold and wearing jackets, he is going out in T-Shirts (for his Bharat Jodo Yatra). He is like a yogi doing his ‘tapasya’ with focus.”

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) General Secretary Dushyant Gautam took a potshot at Khurshid’s statement and said,” Rahul Gandhi should tell which prasad he consumes, due to which he does not feel cold. He should also give the same prasad to his sena so that they too do not have to wear clothes in the cold.”

Meanwhile, earlier today, Rahul Gandhi took to Twitter to post in Hindi, “I am proud, I am a part of such an organization which chose the path of truth, non-violence, and struggle in every situation and always took every step in the public interest.”

The Wayanad MP is in the national capital after the Delhi leg of the party’s Bharat Jodo Yatra led by him entered the national capital on Saturday. The yatra is currently on a week-long break.

Speaking at today’s function at the AICC headquarters, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, who was elected to the post of party president in September hit out at the government. “The basic principles of India are under constant attack. A pit of hatred is being dug all over the country. People are in trouble due to inflation, unemployment but the government does not care,” he said.

The Indian National Congress was founded on December 28, 1885, in Bombay (Mumbai) in the presence of 72 delegates at Das Tejpal Sanskrit College.

Its founder General Secretary was AO Hume and Vyomesh Chandra Banerjee was made the President. (ANI)

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge

Kharge To Take Charge As Cong Prez On Oct 26

The Newly elected President of the Indian National Congress Mallikarjun Kharge will take charge of the post on October 26 at the All India Congress Committee (AICC) headquarters. All Congress Working Committee members, MPs, Pradesh Congress Committee presidents, CLP leaders, former CMs, former State presidents, and other AICC office bearers are invited to the program.

The invitation has been sent to all the above stakeholders by the General Secretary organization KC Venugopal
Congress is expected to resolve the Rajasthan Congress crisis soon after Kharge assumes his position, added the sources.

Also, Kharge will visit poll-bound states like Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat soon.

At the same time, after October 30, Congress will show its strength in Himachal and Gujarat elections. Between October 31 and November 10, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will hold four rallies and four road shows in Himachal. October 31 was specially chosen by Priyanka because former prime minister Indira Gandhi was assassinated on this day.

Priyanka has said that, had Indira Gandhi not been murdered, her wish would have been to build a house in Himachal after retirement.

Vadra will hold rallies and roadshows in Mandi and Kullu on October 31; Kangra and Chamba on November 3; Hamirpur and Una on November 7 and Shimla and Sirmona on November 10.

On the other hand, on the day of the break of the Bharat Jodo Yatra, Rahul Gandhi will step out of the place of the Yatra for the first time and address a big rally in Himachal in the first week of November to boost the party’s campaign.

Similarly, in Gujarat, after October 30, the programs of Priyanka and Rahul are being finalized. Rahul may not have gone to Delhi or elsewhere after taking a break from the Bharat Jodo Yatra but will go to campaign in the election states. In Gujarat, preparations are being made to organize road shows, rallies, and conferences like Mahila-Farmer-Dalit of both leaders.

That is, the Congress, which seems to be lagging behind in the campaign of the central leadership of BJP and AAP in Himachal and especially in Gujarat, is preparing to try hard in the election season of both states as soon as the festive week of Diwali ends. (ANI)
