Modi Karnataka Poll

K’taka: Modi To Hold Two Road Shows, 6 Public Meet This Weekend

In a major boost to the Bharatiya Janata Party’s election campaign in poll-bound Karnataka, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold two massive roadshows and six public meetings this weekend, sources said on Thursday.

The Prime Minister will visit Karnataka on April 29 and 30 and hold mega roadshows in Bengaluru on the first day.
“This roadshow will be of nearly 10 km in length in which three assembly constituencies of Bangalore North will be covered in nearly 45 minutes,” sources told ANI.

He will also address public meetings at various places in the state including in Kolar on April 30.

“The second public meeting is being organized at Channapatan in the afternoon, the third public meeting will be held in Belur at 5.00 pm. After this, a road show may be held in Mysore city also,” sources said.

According to sources, the mega roadshow of Prime Minister Narendra Modi will start on April 29 at around 6 pm.

“The roadshow will be held from Nice Road Junction to Sumanahalli Junction on Magadi Road in Bengaluru. After this roadshow, he may stay in the city that night. He will hold public meetings in Humnabad, Vijayapura and Kudachi before holding a roadshow in Bengaluru on April 29,” sources said.

“On April 30, PM Modi will address public meetings organized in Kolar, Channapatna and Mysore districts. After this, on May 2, PM Narendra Modi will campaign in Chitradurga, Vijayanagar, Sindhanur and Kalaburagi. On May 3, he will campaign for BJP candidates in Moodbidire, Karwar and Kittur,” they added.

On the lines of Gujarat’s Ahmedabad, the party has also decided to organize a mega roadshow of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly aiming to ensure victories of the party candidates.

Besides these roadshows, the BJP is likely to organise two or three additional roadshows in the state.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had the biggest-ever roadshow in Ahmedabad during the Gujarat Assembly elections last year, which covered nearly 50 km spread across 19 assembly constituencies.

The Bharatiya Janata Party’s challenge in Karnataka is to retain power, for which party president JP Nadda and Home Minister Amit Shah have already started their election campaigns.

Notably, Karnataka is the only southern state where the BJP is in power.

“The Karnataka elections are also being considered as the semi-finals of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. That’s why BJP is showing more focus on Karnataka than any other state,” sources said.

The BJP is seeking a second term in the state and has exuded confidence in returning to power with a full majority.

Karnataka will go to polls on May 10 and the votes will be counted on May 13. (ANI)

Radha Mohan Singh AAP

AAP Contesting UP Municipal Polls For Entertainment: Radha Mohan Singh

Former union minister and BJP leader Radha Mohan Singh took a jibe at Aam Aadmi Party’s plan to contest upcoming municipal elections in Uttar Pradesh said AAP is contesting elections for entertainment purposes only.

“Arvind Kejriwal’s party earlier contested assembly elections and now contesting municipal elections for entertainment only. The public is smart and won’t waste their vote,” said the minister.
Radha Mohan Singh has reached Moradabad in regard to civic body polls and held a meeting with the workers. Praising the BJP candidate contesting for polls, Singh said, “Vinod and the whole of his family are involved in social works and people are showing full support, I hope BJP will be winning the mayor’s seat as well.”

Earlier, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath came down heavily on the previous governments for the “mafia raj” in the state.

Addressing public meetings in three districts on the day, CM Adityanath talked up the benefits of the “double-engine government” in the state before the people.

Amid the continuing backlash from the Opposition over the prevailing law and order situation in the wake of the killing of jailed politician-turned-gangster Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf in Prayagraj, the CM said there was not a single instance of riot or curfew in the state on his watch and all was well with UP.

Tearing into the erstwhile “mafia raj” in the state, the CM said there is no one left now to shed tears for hardened criminals. “The mafia raj in Uttar Pradesh is now consigned to history,” CM Adityanath said, urging the public to vote for a “triple-engine government” to give more thrust to the state’s development.

He added that the same would happen only if the people resolve to help the BJP take control of the state’s municipal bodies. The CM kicked off the wave of rallies from Maharaj Singh Degree College ground on Janta Road in Saharanpur.

“Today, there is no curfew and no riots in UP. Everything is fine,” the CM said, adding that extortions and abductions for ransom no longer take place in the state and UP had ceased to be a “family’s personal fief”. “Mafias and criminals have become a thing of the past in UP,” the CM added.

“The UP of today stands as a symbol of security, prosperity and employment,” Adityanath said, adding, “Our state is no longer known for curfews but for the Kanwar Yatra. Our identity is not violence but to set aside our differences and celebrate all festivals together. This is not a land of the mafia but of festivals. Now it is up to us to decide whether there should be terror in our cities or should we make them safe. Do we want to see pistols in the hands of our youth or tablets?”

He added that there was a time when mafias and gangsters would threaten people but now all such elements have vanished and there is no one to shed tears for them. “I don’t know where the extortionists have gone. Those who imposed curfews during their rule would come asking for votes from you. Do not pay attention to them,” the CM said.

The first phase of polling will be held on May 4 for municipal corporation seats including among others PM Modi’s parliamentary constituency Varanasi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s home constituency Gorakhpur. (ANI)

Modi Karnataka development journey

BJP Preparing Young Team To Lead K’taka’s Development Journey: Modi

With an aim to give the leadership of the state’s development to the young generation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said that the Bharatiya Janata Party is preparing a “young team” in Karnataka who will lead the state’s progress journey in the next 25 years contributing to the vision of developed India.

The Prime Minister’s remarks came while interacting with the Karnataka BJP workers virtually.
Notably, the BJP gave chances to over 50 new faces in its list of 224 candidates for the upcoming Karnataka Assembly polls, resulting in the denial of tickets to some senior leaders of the party including Jagadish Shettar, Laxman Savadi and others who ultimately quit the party and joined the Congress to get the ticket.

PM Modi, during his interaction with the BJP workers, highlighted the difference between the BJP and other parties.

“The biggest difference between the BJP and other parties is of approach. The BJP is working on the roadmap of development of India in the next 25 years. Our rivals’ agenda is to grab power, our agenda is to make the country developed in 25 years and make it free from poverty and promote the youth’s capabilities. The BJP is making a young team in Karnataka to give leadership to the development journey of the state in the next 25 years. It is our effort to make numerous global hubs in Karnataka like Bengaluru,” he said.

Responding to a question on the meaning of ‘double-engine government’ by a party worker, the Prime Minister said that it refers to the fast pace of development.

“The meaning of double-engine government is the double speed of development. Where there are BJP’s double-engine governments, it has been an experience that the poor welfare schemes are implemented with pace. There are some states which change the name of the schemes,” he said.

PM Modi said that he will physically visit Karnataka to join the BJP’s election campaign in a few days.

“I will visit Karnataka in a couple of days to receive the blessings of the people of the state. BJP leaders who have campaigned in the state have said that they received a lot of affection from the people there. This shows people’s confidence in BJP,” he said.

Karnataka is slated to go to Assembly polls on May 10, and the counting of votes will take place on May 13. (ANI)

CT Ravi on Pakistani mindest

Don’t Want Votes From People With Pakistani Mindset: BJP’s CT Ravi

Giving clarification on senior BJP leader KS Eshwarappa’s controversial statement, BJP’s National General Secretary CT Ravi on Wednesday, said there are many “patriots among Muslims” who vote for BJP, but the party doesn’t want any vote from the people having “Pakistani mindset”.

“There are many patriots among Muslims who vote for BJP. But some of them who support Pakistan and have divisive ideology vote for Congress and Janata Dal. We don’t want the votes of those who have a Pakistani mindset,” said CT Ravi.
“People who are like Abdul Kalam and Shishunala Sharifa vote for BJP. We bring government schemes keeping ‘sabka saath, sabka vikas’ in mind and not on the basis of caste-like former CM Siddaramaiah did earlier. He brought many of the government schemes for Muslims only,” he added further.

CT Ravi further claimed that where Rahul Gandhi campaigns, Congress loses. “Rahul Gandhi campaigned in UP and Congress lost there. But wherever PM Modi campaigns, BJP wins and it will continue to win.”

CT Ravi reached old Mysore today to campaign for BJP candidate R Ashok.

Eshwarappa, who announced his decision to step away from electoral politics earlier, said CT Ravi is a “good leader” but a decision on the CM’s face is outside his domain.

He added that he doesn’t have the authority to decide the party’s chief ministerial candidate.

“CT Ravi is a good leader. He is doing very good work in Chikkamagaluru. I did not say anything about him being the next chief minister. I have no authority to make such a statement,” Eshwarappa told ANI over the phone on Tuesday.

However, he said that being a prominent leader from the Vokkaliga community, CT Ravi has all the qualities to become the future chief minister of the state.

According to reports, addressing party workers at a meeting in Nidughatta near Chikkamagaluru, Eshwapappa said he hoped CT Ravi would be elected MLA by a huge margin and become the chief minister. His alleged remark came a day after CT Ravi, himself, expressed his desire to become the chief minister. (ANI)

Addressing Yuvam Conclave in Thevara, Prime Minister said, “Kerala is being harmed a lot due to the conflict between two ideologies. One ideology believes that their interest is above Kerala. Other ideology keeps a family above anything else. These two promote violence and corruption. The youth of Kerala of youth needs to work hard to defeat these two ideologies.”
“On one hand, we are working hard to increase the exports of India. On the other hand, in Kerala, some are working hard to smuggle gold. The youth of Kerala are very well aware that the people in power are playing with their future,” he added.

To unlock the true potential of India, PM Modi said it is important that we lead in every new sector. Kerala has unique culture and beauty, and Kerala can become the face of tourism in India and the world.

He said the BJP government is organizing Rozgar Melas to give permanent jobs in the government sector.

Attacking the Pinarayi Vijayan government, the PM said, “In every BJP-ruled state, the campaign for giving jobs is going on. However, the present Kerala govt is not focused on providing jobs to the youth. The youth of Kerala can never forget this attitude of the Kerala government.”

Prime Minister said the ease of living of the people connected with the fisheries sector is his government’s priority. He said the Centre is working towards the modernisation of the fisheries sector. Under Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana, around Rs 800 crore aid has been approved for Kerala. He said the central government made a separate ministry for Fisheries, and fishermen are made the beneficiaries of the Kisan credit card.

He said if infrastructure improves in Kerala, new employment opportunities will be created in the State and new industries will come and tourism will increase.

Refering to Operation Kaveri, Prime Minister lauded Union Minister Muraleedharan and said, “Due to the civil war in Sudan, many of our people are stuck there. Therefore, we have started Operation Kaveri to bring them safely. It is being overseen by the son of Kerala and the Minister of our governmnet, Muraleedharan.”

Highlighting India as a treasure trove of youth power, Prime Minister said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the youth of the country share the same wavelength and vision.

“Today, the BJP and the youth of the country share the same wavelength and vision. We bring reforms and the youth bring results. It is a strong partnership between the government and the youth. BJP has made this era, the era of youth-led development,” he said.

He said a mission becomes vibrant when there is the energy of vibrant youth behind it and when it comes to Kerala, it is so grand and beautiful that after coming here the energy increases even more.

“The previous governments did scams in every sector. On the other hand, the BJP government is creating opportunities in every sector. Through the Aatmanirbhar campaign, the youth have been afforded opportunities,” PM Modi said.

Once upon a time, India was one of the ‘Fragile Five’ countries. However, today India is known as the fastest-growing economy. It is because of the youth, and therefore, I strongly believe in the youth of my country,” PM Modi said.

Referring to Padma awardee VP Appukutta Poduval, PM Modi said, “A few weeks ago, I met a 99-year youth from Kerala. He is a famous Gandhian, VP Appukutta Poduval, who was conferred the Padma award. We get to learn from every talent in Kerala.”

After walking for over 15 minutes, the security personnel escorted Prime Minister to an SUV. The roadshow was markedly different from the PM’s other roadshows, where he usually rides in an open-top vehicle.

PM Modi’s roadshow in Kerala can be seen as a show of strength in the southern state where the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is aiming to make inroads ahead of the 2024 general elections.

Proceeding ahead to achieve the mission of uniting the entire Opposition to take on the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party in 2024 Lok Sabha polls, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav met West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in Kolkata on Monday.

After the meeting, the three leaders held a joint press conference.
Nitish Kumar said, “We have held talks, especially about the coming together of all parties and making all preparations ahead of the upcoming Parliament elections. Whatever will be done next, will be done in the nation’s interest. Those who are ruling now, have nothing to do. They are just doing their own publicity. Nothing is being done for the nation’s development.”

Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee also pitched for opposition unity while calling for an opposition meeting in Bihar, the land of the JP movement.

“We will go ahead together. We have no personal ego, we want to work together collectively. I have made just one request to Nitish Kumar. Jayaprakash (Narayan ) ji’s movement started from Bihar,”Mamata said.

If we have an all-party meeting in Bihar, we can decide where to go next. But first of all, we must convey that we are united. I have said earlier too that I have no objections. I want BJP to become zero. They have become a big hero with media’s support and lies,” Mamata added.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who has taken upon himself the task of uniting Opposition forces against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led government at the Centre, will also meet with Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Monday evening.

Earlier on April 12, Nitish Kumar had met with Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge and former MP Rahul Gandhi in the national capital.

Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Rahul Gandhi said it was a “historic step” towards Opposition unity and for an “ideological fight”.

Rahul Gandhi, who posted a picture of himself with Kharge and JDU and RJD leaders, said they are “standing together, will fight together for India”.

“In this battle of ideology, a historic step has been taken today towards Opposition unity. (We are) standing together will fight together – for India!” Rahul Gandhi said in a tweet after the meeting with the Bihar chief minister.

CM Mamata Banerjee is also leaving no stone unturned in closing in ranks with other parties ahead of the 2024 polls, as she met Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav at her residence in Kolkata last month. (ANI)
