Rajiv Shukla about Pakistan Zindabad Slogans

Pakistan Zindabad Slogans In Bharat Jodo Yatra A False Claim: Shukla

Congress leader Rajiv Shukla on Saturday said that the Bharatiya Janata Party’s claim that the slogan of “Pakistan Zindabad” was raised during Bharat Jodo Yatra was “false”.

“BJP is nervous. The allegation is false. No slogan of Pakistan Zindabad was raised during the yatra,” Shukla said.
Congress leader Rajeev Shukla and Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel reached Indore airport today to join the Bharat Jodo Yatra.

Talking about the Yatra, Shukla said that the Congress’s Bharat Jodo Yatra would be successful like other yatras of the past.

“Such yatras have never failed, be it Shankaracharya ji’s yatra, Gandhi’s Dandi March, Chandrashekhar ji’s yatra, YS Rajasekhar’s yatra, all have been successful,” Shukla further said.

A case has been registered in Chhattisgarh against Lokendra Parashar, BJP media in charge of Madhya Pradesh, who posted a video on his Twitter handle alleging that the slogan of Pakistan Zindabad was raised during the Bharat Jodo Yatra.

Shukla said that the BJP always does “fraud” and that is why they face FIR cases.

BJP leaders alleged participants in Rahul Gandhi-led Bharat Jodo Yatra shouted slogans of ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ in Khargone, Madhya Pradesh.

Earlier on Friday, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan also claimed that “Pakistan Zindabad” slogans were raised and said that he has ordered a probe into the incident.

‘Pakistan Zinabad’ slogans were openly raised in the Bharat Jodo yatra. It’s shameful, I’ve given orders to probe the incident. Divisive forces are brought into yatra,” CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan said.

A controversy erupted after BJP state president VD Sharma and other party leaders posted a purported video of the yatra on social media claiming that ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ slogans were raised at the rally.

However, Congress Party denied the claims, calling it a conspiracy by the BJP to defame Rahul Gandhi.

Rahul Gandhi led Bharat Jodo entered Madhya Pradesh on its 77th day of the Padyatra on Wednesday.

Bharat Jodo Yatra, which began on September 7 from Kanyakumari, will cover a further distance of 2,355 km in its 3,570-km march. It will end in Kashmir next year. It is the longest march on foot by any Indian politician in the history of India, the Congress claimed earlier in a statement. Bharat Jodo Yatra is getting support from various political parties and social organizations across the country and the response is increasing day by day. (ANI)

Rahul Gandhi said BJP Should Apologise

BJP Should Apologise For Using Vanvasi Term: RaGa

Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Thursday said that the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) should apologise for using the word “Vanvasi” (forest dweller).

Prime Minister Narendra Modi used a new word in his speech and he called Adivasis as “Vanvasis”.
Gandhi made an announcement that if Congress comes back to power in Madhya Pradesh, the word ‘Vanvasi’ would be abolished and the tribals would be given their rights.

He made the remark while addressing the public gathering during Bharat Jodo Yatra at Tantya Mama’s birthplace, Baroda Ahir village in the Khandwa district. He also garlanded the Tantya Mama’s statue.

He said, “Vanvasi means the tribal is not the first owner of the country. They are the only owner of the forest. They don’t have rights outside the forest. The forests are slowly being cut down and then they will be thrown out of the forest.”

“In MP, most of the atrocities would have been on tribal. Adivasi means first in India. When no one lived in this country then Adivasi used to live here. Tribal is the real owner of this country. They have the first right to land, water, and forest. Their children should get rights. If their child wants to become an engineer or doctor, the government should help them,” the Congress leader added.

“Thinking about Tantya Mama’s name, the first word that comes to mind is revolutionary fearless. But when Tantya Mama was hanged by the British, the RSS was helping the British government,” Gandhi alleged. (ANI)

No Train, No Votes: Navsari’s 18 Villages Call For Poll Boycott

As all the political parties in Gujarat are gearing up for the state assembly election that is scheduled in the next month, the residents of Ancheli and 17 other villages of the Navsari assembly constituency have hung banners to boycott the polls and ban political leaders, including those from the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from entering the villages for campaigns.

The reason they have decided to boycott the election is that their demand for stopping local trains at the Ancheli railway station has not been met yet.

The banners near the Ancheli Railway station and in the areas of the villages say, “Train nahi to vote Nahi (no train no votes). BJP or other political parties should not come for election campaigns. Our demands are not met, so we are boycotting the elections.”

“Here in the constituency people of at least 18 villages have boycotted this election. Their demand is for the stoppages of the train that used to stop here before Covid 19. People are facing issues as the ones who are regular passengers, they are forced to take private vehicles now and they have to spend almost 300 rs per day,” Hitesh Nayak, an adult said while talking to ANI.

A college student Prachi Patel said that she was facing problems in her study due to the issue as she had to leave one of her lectures in the morning.

Member of the Zonal Railway Users Consultative Committee (ZRUCC) Chhotubhai Patil said that no concerned people are responding to the issue.

“A local passenger train used to stop here since 1966 but it was stopped due to the Covid pandemic. After it restarted, it does not stop here at our station. People from at least 19 villages do up-down from here for their jobs and daily based earnings,” said Chhotubhai Patil.

“They are facing issues. We are not demanding the new one. We just want the same train, but still, the local administrators or representatives are not responding,” he further said.

Chhotubhai Patil said that the villagers have decided to send the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) with no vote.

“We have decided to boycott this assembly election and we will send the EVM back all empty,” he added.

The elections will be held in two phases on December 1 and 5. The counting of votes will take place on December 8, which coincides with Himachal Pradesh’s result date.

BJP is in power in the state for the last 27 years and is considered as BJP bastion.

However, the Congress is also hoping to put its best electoral foot forward to unseat the BJP government.

The ruling party is seeking its seventh, straight term in power in the ensuing state polls. The state has been a BJP stronghold for a long and the party has set its sights on returning to power with a handsome majority this time as well.

However, it faces a stiff electoral challenge from the Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which has named Isudan Gadhvi as its chief ministerial candidate.

BJP on Saturday released the second list of six candidates for the upcoming Gujarat Assembly elections.

In the second list of six candidates, BJP has given tickets to two women.

It has fielded Mahendrabhai Padaliya from Dhoraji, Mulubhai Bera from Khambhalia, Dheliben Maldebhai Odedara from Kutiyana, Sejal Rajiv Kumar Pandya from Bhavnagar East, Hitesh Devji Vasava from Dediapada (ST) and Sandeep Desai from Choryasi.

Earlier on Thursday, the BJP announced the first list of candidates for 160 candidates out of the 182 constituencies for the upcoming Gujarat Assembly elections.

The first list of 160 candidates includes 14 females, 13 from scheduled caste, 24 from the scheduled tribe and there are 69 candidates who have been repeated.

The Assembly elections are scheduled for December 1 and 5 in the State.

In the first round, 89 of the total 182 Assembly seats will go to polls and prominent political parties have declared their candidates for almost all these constituencies.

The BJP has drawn up a list of star campaigners for the upcoming Gujarat Assembly elections. Topping the list is Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The other prominent names on the list include BJP national president JP Nadda, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari and fellow central cabinet colleagues Smriti Irani, Dharmendra Pradhan, Mansukh Mandaviya and Purushottam Rupala.

Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, who is seeking a fresh mandate from the Ghatlodia Assembly segment, also features in the star campaigners list along with BJP state president CR Patil and state Home Minister Harsh Sanghvi. (ANI)

EC, Now A Branch Of BJP: Mehbooba Mufti

PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti on Saturday lashed out at the Election Commission alleging that the poll body has “become a branch of the BJP”, while also accusing it of conducting elections on the saffron party’s “signals”.

The PDP chief alleged that the Election Commission is “no longer independent”.
“The Election Commission of India has now become a branch of the BJP. It stays silent, like when BJP campaigned on the basis of religious propaganda in Himachal Pradesh. ECI is no longer independent like it used to be. ECI conducts election on BJP’s signals,” Mufti said.

Himachal Pradesh recorded a voter turnout of 73.23 per cent in the assembly polls, according to data from the Election Commission till 11.30 pm on Saturday.

Solan recorded the highest voter turnout with 76.82 per cent of the voters exercising their franchise. Shimla logged a voter turnout of 69.88 per cent, according to the latest data.

Una recorded a 76.69 per cent voting percentage followed by Kullu with 76.15 per cent. Polling began at 8 am on Saturday to elect members of the assembly. The polling concluded at 5 pm.

Mufti, further slamming the Centre over the issue of Kashmiri Pandits, said that the government is there to “disrupt everything”.

She also accused the BJP of gaining votes “using their (Pandits’) struggles”.

“The current government is here to disrupt everything. Kashmiri Pandits have been demanding for so long to get relocated to Jammu till the time things get better in Kashmir, but they (the government) stop their incomes, and rations. BJP uses their struggle to gain votes,” Mufti alleged.

Earlier last month, Mufti hit out at the Centre over the recent targeted killings in the region and said Kashmiri Pandits are compelled to migrate despite the fact that the BJP is at the helm of affairs at the Centre.

“Targeted killings of Kashmiri Pandits are taking place, whose government is there? The Kashmiri Pandits have been protesting in Jammu for the past six months. Today, Farooq Abdullah nor I am in power. There is a BJP government at the Centre. Why are the Kashmiri Pandits compelled to migrate?” Mufti said. (ANI)

Cong MLA Tipu Sultan

Cong MLA Promises 100-ft Statue Of Tipu Sultan In Mysuru

Karnataka Congress MLA Tanveer Sait on Thursday promised a 100 feet statue of Tipu Sultan in Srirangapatna of Karnataka’s Mysuru.

Sait, who was elected MLA from Narasimharaja constituency, said the statue would stand as a symbol of the “true history” of Tipu Sultan for the coming generations. Claiming that the history around the warrior has been “distorted” by the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party.
“A 100-feet-tall statue of Tipu Sultan will be erected in Mysuru or Srirangapatna which will stand as a symbol of the actual history around him. The BJP government has been distorting the history around Tipu Sultan and is bent on running his legacy down. Hence, there was an urgent need to build this statue,” Sait said while taking part in the Tipu Kannada Rajyotsava in Mysuru on Thursday.

He said, “Despite the ban on erecting idols in Islam, I will still erect a statue of Tipu, to tell the truth to the next generations.”

Former chief minister Siddaramaiah also reacted to the announcement, claiming that the BJP was busy distorting the history around the 18th-century warrior.

“Why can’t the statue of Tipu Sultan be built? Does he not deserve a statue? The BJP always distorts history. One should remember what they said about Narayan Guru, Ambedkar and others. They always twist and falsify facts,” Siddaramaiah said.

Popularly known as the Tiger of Mysore, Tipu Sultan has been the subject of controversy in the state, especially since 2015 when the BJP and the Congress fought over the need to celebrate the 18th-century ruler’s birthday.

During the Congress rule in 2017, former chief minister Siddaramaiah announced the celebration of Tipu Jayanti on November 10.

However, in 2018, Uttara Kannada MP and then Union minister Ananthkumar Hegde condemned the state government’s decision to celebrate Tipu Sultan’s birth anniversary.

According to documented history, Tipu Sultan fought against the British and died in 1799 while defending his capital Srirangapatna (present-day Mandya).

The celebration of the 18th-century ruler’s birth anniversary had pitted the BJP against the Congress, with several party leaders condemning the grand old party.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday unveiled the ‘Statue of Prosperity’, the 108-feet bronze statue of Bengaluru founder Nadaprabhu Kempegowda.

The statue has been built to commemorate the contribution of Nadaprabhu Kempegowda, the founder of the city, towards the growth of Bengaluru.

“Conceptualized and sculpted by Ram V Sutar of Statue of Unity fame, 98 tonnes of bronze and 120 tonnes of steel have gone into the making of this statue,” the PMO said. (ANI)

Remark Against Murmu

Remark Against Murmu: BJP Seeks Disciplinary Action Against TMC Leader Akhil Giri

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday wrote to the National Commission for Women (NCW), and requested for the immediate arrest of West Bengal Minister and TMC leader Akhil Giri and take appropriate action against him and “try to dismiss him from the MLA post also” over his objectionable remark on the President of India Droupadi Murmu.

“Trinamool leader Akhil Giri, during a meeting in Nandigram, has collectively commented on The Respected President Shrimati Droupadi Murmu Ji for her Looks and her Caste he says “Deakte valo noi. Aha-ha ke Rupushi! Amra ruper bacher kori na. Tumar Rastropati kamon deakte Baba?” West Bengal BJP MP Saumitra Khan said in a letter to the commission on Saturday.
He said that Giri’s statement was a very despicable act, and it cannot be forgiven under any circumstances, nor can it be left at any point.

“She (Droupadi Murmu) is respected excellency for 140 crores of Indian people. This is an insult to our Democratic System, this is an insult to our Fare Constitutional Structure and This is an insult to all 140 crores of Indian Citizens,” the letter read.

“This issue is not only related to women’s respect; it also reflects their thinking. And this type of thinking cannot be left in society because it is harmful to society as well as the country. I request the commission to immediately arrest Akhil Giri for this heinous act and take appropriate action against him,” the letter added.

Akhil Giri made the objectionable remarks against the President of India on Friday while talking about West Bengal opposition leader Suvendu Adhikari following an incident of unrest in the BJP leader’s Nandigram constituency over the Martyrs’ Day event.

Speaking to the media the BJP leader Saumitra Khan said, “It is only India where a tribal woman can be the president. But the kind of statement that TMC minister Akhil Giri has made is defamatory.”

“I have written to the Prime Minister, the National Commission for Women, and also to the speaker of the West Bengal assembly, and requested to immediately expel TMC leader Akhil Giri for his statement, and I would like to request all the tribal community and women of West Bengal to launch a protest, this is an insult of the President and all tribal women,” he asserted. TRS In Munugode

Counting for Bypolls 2022: BJP Leads In 3 Seats, TRS In Munugode

The counting for bypolls in seven constituencies that were held on November 3 is underway.

As per the initial trends of the Adampur constituency, Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Bhavya Bishnoi is leading with 10,778 votes in Haryana and Congress’ candidate Jai Prakash is trailing with 8800 votes.

Haryana’s Adampur seat witnessed the contest between BJP, Congress, Indian National Lok Dal, and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) with a total voter turnout of 75.25 per cent.

In Adampur, the by-election was necessitated after former Chief Minister Bhajan Lal’s son Kuldeep Bishnoi resigned as MLA from the seat and switched from the Congress to the BJP in August. Bishnoi’s son Bhavya contested the by-poll as the BJP candidate.

The Congress fielded former Union Minister Jai Prakash while the INLD picked Congress rebel Kurda Ram Nambardar as its candidate. Satender Singh was AAP’s candidate.

Notably, the Adampur seat is considered a stronghold of Bishnoi.

Meanwhile, as per the latest trends, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) is leading in both the assembly seats- Mokama as well as Gopalganj.

For the Mokama assembly seat in Bihar, RJD’s Neelam Devi is leading with 35,036 votes whereas Mohan Prasad Gupta is leading on the Gopalganj assembly seat with 6,314 votes.

In Bihar, this was the first major election after Chief Minister Nitish Kumar parted ways with BJP and joined hands with RJD and Congress to form a Grand Alliance government.

The main contest is between the BJP and the RJD in Bihar.

For the Mokama bypolls, the BJP has fielded Sonam Devi against RJD’s Neelam Devi, whose husband Anant Singh’s disqualification necessitated the by-election.

Notably, Mokama is said to be the stronghold of Anant Singh since 2005. He won the seat twice on JD(U) tickets.

BJP has given the ticket to Kusum Devi, the wife of incumbent BJP MLA Subhash Singh.

As per the initial trends, BJP’s Aman Giri is currently leading on the Gola Gokrannath assembly seat in Uttar Pradesh with 49,142 votes till now, while SP’s Vinay Tiwari has polled 35,144 votes till now.

For this, the BJP had fielded Aman Giri while the Samajwadi Party (SP) had given a ticket to former MLA Vinay Tiwari.

In Andheri East, Shiv Sena (Uddhav Thackeray faction) candidate Rutuja Latke has been seen leading with 14,648 votes in the November 3 held by-polls here.

Rutuja Latke is the wife of incumbent Sena MLA Ramesh Latke whose death in May necessitated the poll.

This was the first election after the revolt in the Shiv Sena by Eknath Shinde and 39 other legislators which led to the collapse of the Uddhav Thackeray-led Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government.

The NCP and Congress have also supported the candidature of Rutuja Latke.

Accordingly, BJP’s Suryabanshi Suraj is leading with 8,737 votes in Odisha’s Dhamnagar, which saw 66.63 per cent voter turnout recorded in Dhamnagar Assembly constituency bypolls. Meanwhile, BJD’s Abanti Das got 7,358 votes.

In Odisha’s Dhamnagar bypoll, there seems to be a tough contest between ruling BJD candidate Abanti Das and BJP candidate Suryabanshi Suraj Sthitaprajana, the son of Bishnu Sethi, BJP MLA after whose death, the assembly seat fell vacant, as its candidate for the by-election.

TRS candidate Kooskuntla Prabhakar Reddy is currently leading at the Munugode seat with 6,412 votes while BJP candidate Komatireddy Raj Gopal Reddy trails with 5,126 votes.

The BJP and the ruling TRS had campaigned aggressively in Munugode.

In the Assembly bypolls held across six states, the Munugode constituency in Telangana recorded the highest voter turnout with 77.5 pc voting on Thursday, as per Election Commission trends. (ANI)

BJP On Chandrasekhar's Letter

Kejriwal Is Guru Of Thugs: BJP On Chandrasekhar’s Letter

Amid the row over conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar’s letter mentioning Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal of receiving money, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia on Saturday launched a scathing attack on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief attributing him as the “guru of all thugs”.

Addressing a press conference, Bhatia said, “Arvind Kejriwal is the guru of all the thugs. There is no friend whom Arvind Kejriwal has not cheated. The sins and misdeeds of Arvind Kejriwal were exposed by the letter of misdeeds by the letter from Sukesh Chandrasekhar.”
“The letter says the way Arvind Kejriwal takes Rs 50 crore from the great thugs and discusses sending such persons against whom there are many criminal cases to Rajya Sabha. Today, the role of three people becomes clear in this, the first is the biggest thug and kingpin Arvind Kejriwal, the second is Satyendra Jain, third is Kailash Gehlot,” he added.

Bhatia said according to the letter, Kejriwal told Sukesh Chandrashekhar that he had given Rs 50 crores and asked him to bring 20-30 more businessmen like him and gave a target of Rs 500-600 crore.

The BJP leader said that Kejriwal’s promise of clean Delhi has failed and people in the national capital are suffering from severe air quality.

Attacking Kejriwal, BJP MP Gautam Gambhir said, “The biggest thug is not the one who is sitting in jail but the one who is sitting on the chair of Delhi and cheating the entire Delhi and the people of the country. He has already made Delhi dirty. Now he wants to make Rajya Sabha dirty. Delhi has neither clean water to drink nor clean air to breathe.”

In a letter that has been confirmed by his lawyer, Sukesh, who is currently lodged in Delhi’s Tihar Jail and facing several cases of corruption under the Prevention of Corruption Act and Money Laundering Act, alleged, “Delhi Minister Satyendar Jain and ex-Tihar DG are threatening me after my complaint to Delhi’s LG went public”.

Launching a scathing attack on Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Sukesh fired questions at him.

“Kejriwal Ji why you forced me to bring 20-30 individuals to contribute Rs 500 crore to the party in return for seats,” he claimed.

Sukesh further asked why did the Delhi Chief Minister receive Rs 50 crore from him and offered him a Rajya Sabha seat.

“Kejriwal Ji, I am the country’s biggest thus according to you, then why on what basis you received Rs 50 crore from me and offered Rajya Sabha seat to me? So what does that make you?” the letter alleged.

He further asked the Delhi Chief Minister and jailed Minister Satyendar Jain to “stop threatening and intimidating” him through the jail administration and said that nothing will stop him from seeking a detailed CBI probe.

“Kejriwal ji and Satyendar Jain ji, stop threatening and intimidating me through the jail administration. Nothing will stop me from moving ahead and seeking a detailed CBI probe,” the letter stated.

“After my arrest in the year 2017, I was imprisoned in Tihar Jail and Satyendra Jain visited me several times. The secretary had asked me to give Rs 2 crore per month as protection money,” Chandrashekhar stated in his letter. (ANI)
