Fans Greet Sunny On His Birthday

Actor Sunny Deol is basking in the success of his film ‘Gadar 2’. His followers adored his performance as Tara Singh in the film. They greeted him in Mumbai on his 66th birthday today.

Sunny Deol cut the cake which featured ‘Tara Singh in Gadar 2’. Deol’s sons Rajveer Deol and Karan Deol were also present on the occasion.

Deol’s fans appeared ecstatic amidst the sounds of dhol. Deol also appeared to be having a good time while celebrating his birthday with his sons.

Earlier, his sons Karan Deol and Rajveer Deol took to their respective Instagram handles and penned a note of gratitude for the ‘Ghayal’ star.

“Happiest Birthday Dad!!! [?]Your talent and love inspire me every day. May this year be filled with even more success and happiness,” Karan wrote.

He also dropped a few pictures of him with Sunny. One of the snaps shows the father-son duo cuddling each other.

Rajveer’s birthday wish for Sunny read, “Happy Birthday DAD [?]May your birthday be as amazing and incredible as you are. Love you.”

Rajveer is making his acting debut with ‘Dono’, which also marks the acting debut of Poonam Dhillon’s daughter Paloma.

Sunny Deol attended the premier of ‘Dono’ and was seen donning a black shirt paired with blue jeans and a matching coat.

Talking to the media, Sunny said, “I hope you all will like this film and will give a lot of love to these children. They need support from all of you. The rest depends on their ability, but support is very important.”

Rajveer, who is playing lead in Avnish S Barjatya’s directorial told ANI about the advice he received from his dad and actor Sunny Deol.

He said, “I think what I have learned is that characters make you a star. It’s not you. And do those characters justice. People really relate to those characters. That’s what makes your career, the characters you play. That’s the main thing I learned from my dad.”

After an outstanding performance at the Indian box office, actors Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel starrer action drama film ‘Gadar 2’ also streamed on the OTT platform from October 6.

Talking about ‘Gadar 2’ streaming on OTT platform, Sunny Deol said, “We are absolutely delighted with the overwhelming response that ‘Gadar 2’ has received in theatres. Now with its World Digital Premiere on ZEE5, I am very excited for the movie to reach a wider, global audience. Gadar 2 is a perfect family entertainer that will keep the viewers completely engaged and entertained. I urge everyone to watch it if you haven’t already and watch it again if you have”.

Sunny, son of veteran actor Dharmendra and Prakash Kaur, made his Bollywood debut in ‘Betaab’ opposite Amrita Singh in 1983. The film was a box-office success and its songs ‘Jab Hum Jawan Honge’, ‘Tumne Dee Awaaz’ and ‘Badal Yun Gajrata Hai’ were chartbusters.

He later proved his mettle in hit films like ‘Arjun’, ‘Ghayal’, ‘Damini’, ‘Ghatak’, ‘Border’, ‘Ziddi’ and his most iconic ‘Gadar’. In August 2023, he once again showed power of his stardom with ‘Gadar 2’, which shattered several box office records in the history of Indian cinema. The film raked in over Rs 525.45 cr.

In the coming months, Sunny will be seen in Rajkumar Santoshi’s directorial ‘Lahore 1947’. The film will be made under Aamir Khan’s production house.

Rajkumar Santoshi and Sunny Deol have previously delivered three box office hits together in the form of ‘Ghayal,’ ‘Damini,’ and ‘Ghatak’. (ANI)

Zeenat To Big B, Celebs Celebrate 100 Years Of Dev Anand

Several celebrities remembered legendary actor Dev Anand on the occasion of his 100th birth anniversary. They celebrated 100 years of Dev Saab.

From Zeenat Aman to Amitabh Bachchan shared special posts on their respective social media handles.

Veteran actor Zeenat Aman shared stills from the film ‘Hare Rama Hare Krishna’ on her Instagram handle and penned a lengthy note, “Celebrating 100 years of Dev saab. Stylish, suave and prolific, he was a dynamo beyond compare. And what generosity of talent! He sparked careers (mine included), brought together creative heads, and made films that resonated across generations.’

She continued, “It gladdens my heart to see his legacy honoured an entire century since his birth. In recent days, I’ve been overwhelmed with requests for comments about him but there is little to add to what I’ve already said. Though, I posted a three-part series about him just a few weeks ago, I can’t resist the nostalgia of these two frames from our earliest films together. They will be instantly recognisable to my older followers, but I’m not so sure about you younger lot!”

Kajol took to Instagram story and shared a portrait of Dev Saab.

She captioned the post, “Style beyond compare onscreen and off screen. Remembering Dev Sahab on his 100th anniversary.”

Sharing the still of her mother Sharmila Tagore and Dev Saab from their film, Saba Pataudi wrote, “Happy 100th Birthday Anniversary #devanand ji.”

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan also remembered the legendary actor and posted a note on his X.

The note read, “After seeing the success of Film Heritage Foundation’s retrospective “Dilip Kumar – Hero of Heroes” on the occasion of his birth centenary last year, I am delighted that four iconic Dev Anand films will be opening in cinemas across the country today in a manner that befits a legend of Indian cinema. Filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar dropped a throwback picture with Dev Anand.

Sharing the picture, he wrote, “Happy birthday anniversary to Dev saab, an evergreen icon, who mesmerizes us even today with his charisma and timeless songs. His immeasurable contributions to Indian cinema and lasting legacy inspire generations. We miss you Dev saab..”

Dev Anand was born on September 26, 1923, and is considered one of the most successful actors in the Bollywood film industry.

In a career spanning almost six decades, the actor created a mark with his roles in films like ‘Guide,’ ‘Taxi Driver,’ ‘Jewel Thief’ and ‘CID’.

He broke new grounds, playing a smuggler in ‘Jaal,’ absconding gang member in ‘Dushman,’ black marketeer in ‘Kalabazaar’ and a murderer in ‘Bombay Ka Babu.

Besides being an actor, he was also a writer, director, and producer known for his work in Hindi cinema.

The late actor who received India’s third-highest civilian award, Padma Bhushan took his last breath in his room at The Washington Mayfair Hotel in London at the age of 88 on December 3, 2011 (4 December 2011 I.S.T.). (ANI)

Leaders Extend Wishes To Manmohan Singh On His 91st Birthday

Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with several other leaders extended their greetings to former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on his 91st Birthday on Tuesday.

PM Modi took to X and said “Birthday wishes to former PM Dr Manmohan Singh Ji. I pray for his long life and good health.”

Congress leader Jairam Ramesh also wished the party’s veteran leader and said “Today Dr. Manmohan Singh turns 91. He has always been an outstanding symbol of erudition and learning. But much more than that he has always epitomised grace, sobriety, humility and dignity in whichever position he has held. These are extremely rare qualities in our public life, even more so now.”

“I have heard Presidents and Prime Ministers refer to him as a guru. He does not need self-advertisement. On a personal note, I still recall the time in Sep-Oct 1986 when as Deputy Chairman he inducted Arvind Virmani, Rakesh Mohan and myself into the Planning Commission which was a tremendous learning experience,” Jairam Ramesh said on X.

Manmohan Singh was on September 26, 1932. Apart from being an economist, Manmohan Singh served as Reserve Bank of India governor from 1982-1985. He was the 13th PM of India with his tenure from 2004-2014 and was the longest serving PM after Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi.

Serving as the finance minister of India in PV Narsimha Rao’s government, Singh has been given credit for economic liberalization in the country in 1991. The reforms made the Indian economy more accessible for foreign investors which increased FDI and reducing government control. It greatly contributed in the country’s economic growth.

The liberalization of the Indian economy in 1991 is credited with unleashing competitive markets and enabling the forces of creative destruction leading to benefits that can be witnessed today also.

Manmohan Singh also brought National Rural Employment guarantee act (NREGA) which later came to be known as MGNREGA.

Right to Information act (RTI) was passed in 2005 under Manmohan Singh government which made the transparency of information between the government and public better.

He is currently a member of Rajya Sabha.

External Affair Minister also wished Manmohan Singh on X where he said “Birthday greetings to former PM Dr. Manmohan Singh Ji. Pray for his long life, good health and happiness.”

Ahead Of Modi’s Birthday: BJP Worker Showcases His Portrait Using Grains, Millets

Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi‘s birthday on September 17, a BJP worker in Pune is showcasing PM Modi’s portrait using grains and millets.

BJP worker Kishor Tarwade said, “The size of the portrait is 10X18 feet and it has been created using around 60 kg of grains like wheat, lentils and millets (Jawar, Raagi). The portrait will be kept for display from September 16 to September 18 for visitors at the Budhwar Peth area of Pune city in Kalika Mata Mandir Bhavan. No fee would be charged to have a look out at the display.”

The portrait has been created by artist Ganesh Khare and his team in 18 hours.

Kishor Tarwade added, “Wheat, til, masoor daal, hari moong daal, jawar raagi, toor daal, and sarso have been used to make the portrait.”

Prime Minister Modi is going to celebrate his 73rd birthday on September 17. He was born in 1950. (ANI)

The fantasy flick, which is the first of its kind signed by the megastar after a long while, will be directed by Vassishta, who made his directorial debut with ‘Bimbisara’.

Fans are curious to see Chiranjeevi in another fantasy entertainer like ‘Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari’, which is counted as one of the evergreen classics in the Telugu film industry.

Recently, speaking exclusively to ANI, Hassan talked about his friendship with Mani Ratnam and praised his film.

He said, “I am an artist, film producer, director and all of that. Secondly, my first proclaimed identity is that I am a cinema fan. And I am a Tamilian. So I am so proud that Tamil’s technical expertise and unique talent are now for everyone and the world to see. And altogether, I am not talking just about the stars incorporated or played for the story and I think the credit goes to Mani Ratnam. Mani Ratnam takes a lot of valour to do a film of this size like a production. Mr Mani Ratnam, the team the cinematographer, the musician, everybody they have worked together to make Tamil cinema international. And this is people that have embraced which is a good sign that Tamil Cinema is probably moving towards the golden age and expected to go in that direction. It’s a very moving moment for two friends who started speaking about cinema and he has gone ahead and done it.”
