Shah Appeals Haryana To Vote For BJP In 2024 LS Polls

Launching the campaign for the 2024 Lok Sabha polls in Haryana’s Sonipat, Union Home Minister Amit Shah appealed people of the state to vote for the BJP to make Narendra Modi the Prime Minister for the third term on the basis of the development done by the Modi government in the last eight years.

Shah’s public rally in Gohana city in the Sonipat district of Haryana has been cancelled due to bad weather conditions as his chopper did not get permission to take off and land due to bad weather conditions following which his programme was cancelled.
He, however, briefly addressed the gathering over the phone, appealing the people of Haryana to vote for the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections to again make Narendra Modi the Prime Minster of the country.

“All of us together will work to make Narender Modi ji as Prime Minister again. I am confident that the lotus of BJP will bloom at every Lok Sabha seat.”

Taking dig at the previous Congress government, Shah said that in last eight years so much development has taken place in Haryana which could not have happened in 70 years.

“You have witnessed so much development in Haryana during the past eight years. The corruption has reduced in every sector, law and order has improved and castism has ended. In eight years so much development has taken place in Haryana which could not have happened in 70 years. Now education sarpanches are taking Haryana forward.”

Speaking to the people at the rally, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar announced that Shah could not come as his helicopter was not given permission to take-off due to bad weather.

Khattar said that Shah wanted to come by road but since it would have taken two hours, he suggested to the Union minister to address the gathering over the phone.

“I wanted to meet you all in this rally, but due to bad weather, permission for helicopter take-off was not given,” said Shah.

The Union Home said he could not come to Gohana today but in near future, he will come to meet the Haryana people.

“I wanted to come via road in a car, but the weather over there is also inclement with the possibility of more rain. Manohar ji requested that I should speak to you all over the phone,” he added.

Shah also promised people that he will soon visit Gohana. (ANI)

Digital Payments Ecosystem Transformed Governance: Modi

Ramsar Sites In Country Increased Nearly Three Times Since 2014: Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday underlined that the number of Ramsar sites in the country has increased to 75, which is close to thrice of what India had in 2014.

Addressing the 97th edition of the Mann Ki Baat programme on Sunday, PM Modi said that wetlands in any country have to fulfil certain criteria, then only they can be declared as Ramsar sites.
He said that the number of Ramsar sites in the country has increased to 75 which was earlier only 26 till 2014.

“Wetlands may be there in any country, but they have to fulfil many criteria, then only they can be declared as Ramsar Sites. Now the total number of Ramsar Sites in our country has increased to 75, whereas, before 2014 there were only 26 Ramsar Sites in the country,” PM Modi said.

Wetlands are the places where water remains accumulated throughout the year on marshy soil-like land.

“We have been continuously talking about India’s concrete efforts in the direction of climate change and conservation of biodiversity. A few days later, on February 2, it is World Wetlands Day. They are very important for the existence of our earth because many birds and animals are dependent on them for their survival,” PM Modi said.

He said that most of the world’s Ramsar sites have a unique cultural heritage.

Ramsar Sites are wetlands of international importance designated under the criteria of the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands for containing representative, rare or unique wetland types or for their importance in conserving biological diversity.

PM Modi said that the increased number of Ramsar sites is also a tribute to the country’s age-old culture and tradition of living in harmony with nature. He cited the example of the culture of Manipur, which has a deep connection with Loktak and the sacred lake Renuka. He also mentioned Chilika Lake in Odisha which is known for sheltering more than 40 Water Bird Species.

“Kaibul-Lamjaa, Loktak is considered to be the only natural habitat of the Swamp Deer. Similarly, Sambhar is also related to Shakambhari Devi, an incarnation of Maa Durga,” he added.

He further lauded the people involved in the conservation of biodiversity and said that the expansion of wetlands could only happen because of the people living around these Ramsar sites.

Vedanthangal of Tamil Nadu was declared a Ramsar Site in 2022. The entire credit for preserving the bird population here goes to the farmers in the neighbourhood, the PM said, adding the Panjath Nag community in Kashmir spends a day, especially cleaning the village spring during the Annual Fruit Blossom festival.

Most of the Words Ramsar Sites also have a Unique cultural heritage, he said.

“Along with enriching Biodiversity, they also ensure Flood control and Ground Water Recharge. Many of you must be knowing that Ramsar Sites are such wetlands which are of international importance…Ramsar Sites should have 20,000 or more water birds. It is important to have a large number of local fish species,” the Prime Minister added. (ANI)

Govt Working For Underprivileged Like Lord Devnarayan: PM | Lokmarg

Govt Working For Underprivileged Like Lord Devnarayan: PM

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said that many attempts were made to break India geographically, culturally, socially, and ideologically, but no force could destroy India.

India is not just a piece of land but an expression of our civilization and potential, the Prime Minister said in Malaseri Dungri in Bhilwara district of Rajasthan today while addressing a ceremony to commemorate the 1,111th ‘Avataran Mahotsav’ of Bhagwan Shri Devnarayan Ji in Rajasthan’s Bhilwara.
“We the people of India are proud of our thousands of years old civilization and culture,” the Prime Minister said.

PM Modi said that his government was following the mantra of “preference for the underprivileged” and of empowering every section of society just like Lord Devnarayan, who shunned a life of luxury and instead chose to serve people.

The PM said, “Bhagwan Devnarayan came from a well-off family but he shunned the luxurious life and chose to serve people and dedicated his life to public service.”

“Today the country is moving forward on this path. We are also working with the mantra of ‘preference for the underprivileged’. That is why today the poor are getting free rations and free treatment. The poor used to worry about the house, toilet, and gas cylinder. We are removing that too. Bank accounts of the poor are being opened,” Modi added.

PM Modi also stated that attempts to break India could not succeed.

He said, “We take pride in our thousands of years old history, civilization, and culture. Several civilizations of the world ended with time. Several attempts were made to break India geographically, culturally, socially and ideologically. But no power could finish India.”

“India is not just a tract of land but also an expression of our civilization, culture, harmony and possibilities. That is why India is laying the foundation for its glorious future. The biggest inspiration behind this is the power of our society which belongs to crores of people of the country,” the prime minister said.

PM Modi said that in every period in the country, such a power emerges from within the society which has shown the direction to everyone. Lord Devnayan was also such an incarnation who protected the country from the invaders.

PM Modi stated that Lord Devnarayan removed the evils spread in society and spread the spirit harmony, united the society, and worked towards establishing an ideal system.

“This is the reason that there is reverence and immense faith in him in every section of society,” he said.

He said that due to the efforts of the government, electricity, water, health, housing and banking facilities are reaching the common people.

The government’s efforts are also going on to provide water for agriculture and to protect livestock. For the first time, the facility of Kisan Credit Card has also been provided to the cattle rearers. More than 15000 cr has been deposited in the bank accounts of the farmers under PM Kisan Saman Nidhi, PM Modi said.

PM Modi also thanked the people of Rajasthan for inviting him on the auspicious occassion.

He said, “We will work hard. We all will work together and everyone’s efforts will lead to success. I am very grateful to society that it has invited me here as a devotee. The power and devotion of society inspired me and I am here today.”

The event was organised by the culture ministry.

Malaseri is the birthplace of Bhagwan Dev Narayan, greatly revered by the Gujjars in the area.

The Gujjars are about 9 per cent to 12 per cent of the population in the state and they are significant in 40 to 50 assembly seats in eastern Rajasthan.

Bhagwan Shri Devnarayan ji is worshipped by the people of Rajasthan, and his followers are spread across the length and breadth of the country. He is revered especially for his work towards public service.

Earlier this morning Prime Minister Modi prayers at the Malaseri Dungri temple in the district and also made offerings in the ongoing Yagya there.

Notably, this is Prime Minister Modi’s third visit to the poll-bound Rajasthan in the last four months. (ANI)

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Friday wrote to Union Home Minister Amit Shah regarding the January 27 "security lapse" incident

Kharge Writes To Shah, Seeking Adequate Security For Bharat Jodo Yatra

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Friday wrote to Union Home Minister Amit Shah regarding the January 27 “security lapse” incident of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and sought his personal intervention in ensuring adequate security to the Bharat Jodo Yatra in Jammu and Kashmir.

Kharge’s letter comes after the Congress’ footmarch was suspended for the day with the party claiming that it was done on the advice of the officials in charge of the security of Rahul Gandhi.
“We are expecting a huge gathering to join the yatra over the next two days and also the function that will be held on January 30 at Srinagar. Many senior Congress leaders and leaders of other important political parties are attending the culmination functions to be held on January 30,” said Kharge in his letter.

“I shall be grateful if you could personally intervene in this matter and advise the concerned officials to provide adequate security till the culmination of the yatra and the function on the 30th January at Srinagar,” the Congress president said in his letter to Shah.

He also appreciated the statement of the Jammu and Kashmir Police, which said that they will continue to provide complete security till the culmination of the yatra.

Rahul Gandhi, while addressing a press conference on Friday said that the security arrangement had “completely collapsed” during the Yatra on Friday morning.

“This morning during the Bharat Jodo Yatra, unfortunately, the police arrangement completely collapsed and the police who were supposed to manage the crowd were nowhere to be seen. My security people were very uncomfortable with me walking further on the yatra so I had to cancel my walk. Other yatris did the walk,” said Rahul Gandhi while addressing a press conference.

Further speaking on security issues, Gandhi said, “I think it is important the police manages the crowd so that we can do the yatra. It’s very difficult for me to go against what my security people are recommending.” (ANI)

chief K Annamalai

There Is No Hate… Rahul Gandhi Took 3,000 Km To Realise It: Annamalai

Tamil Nadu Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief K Annamalai took a swipe at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who is leading Bharat Jodo Yatra, and said the Wayanad MP took 3,000 km to understand that there is no atmosphere of hatred in the country.

Attacking the Bharat Jodo Yatra, the BJP leader said Rahul Gandhi himself had admitted that there is no atmosphere of hatred in the country, indicating that the yatra has no motive.

“Rahul ji in one of the statements in Delhi said he did not see hate after walking this many miles. Then why did he start the yatra? It took him 3,000 kilometres to realise that..,” Annamalai said in the ANI Podcast with Smita Prakash.

Annamalai said Congress’ mass outreach programme is useless since it lacks a clear vision.

“Padyatra should have a larger perspective. It is just that you are upset with Modi ji and you started a yatra. It should have a motive,” the Tamil Nadu BJP chief said.

On December 24, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi held a mega public rally outside Red Fort in the national capital.

Addressing the rally, Rahul Gandhi said, “In Bharat Jodo Yatra, dogs also came but no one harmed them. Cow, buffaloes, pigs, all animals came. All the people came. This Yatra is like our India, I have not seen any hatred or violence among people while walking 2,800 km, and I have not seen violence or hatred anywhere in the country. But when I turn on the TV, there is hatred all the time. 24 hours there is only Hindu-Muslim in media.”

Attacking the BJP government, Rahul Gandhi said Hindu-Muslim propaganda is being done to divert attention from the real issues.

The Bharat Jodo Yatra, which started in Kanyakumari on September 7, will conclude on January 30 in Srinagar after covering 3,970 km, 12 states and two Union territories.

The march has so far covered Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and is presently in Jammu and Kashmir.

It is the longest march on foot by any Indian politician in the history of India, the Congress claimed earlier in a statement.

Bharat Jodo Yatra has been receiving support from various political parties and social organizations across the country.

The Congress suffered a debacle in the assembly polls held earlier this year and the Yatra is seen as an attempt to motivate the party rank and file for the upcoming electoral battles. (ANI)

Kangana's 'Emergency'

Lights, Camera, Twitter: Kangana Ranaut Is Back In Action

Kangana Ranaut is back on Twitter. The actor-director returned to the microblogging site on Tuesday. Her comeback tweet read, “Hello everyone, it’s nice to be back here.”

She further tweeted a BTS (behind the scenes) video of her upcoming film ‘Emergency’ and the news has the fans excited!

She attached a caption with the BTS video – “And it’s a wrap !!! Emergency filming completed successfully… see you in cinemas on 20th October 2023”

The actor’s fans are quite ecstatic to have her back and many even replied to her tweet saying, “Welcome back!!!”

However, an official blue tick from her profile is missing, which fans are hoping will be attached to her account soon.

Last year, in May, Twitter “permanently suspended” Kangana’s account on Twitter after she posted a series of tweets making derogatory remarks on the recent results of the West Bengal assembly elections.

In her tweets, the ‘Queen’ star demanded President’s rule in West Bengal after Mamata Banerjee-led TMC defeated BJP in the state elections last year.

Taking to her Twitter handle, the National Award-winning actor used demeaning words against Mamata. In a series of controversial tweets, Kangana called her an “unleashed monster”.

According to a Twitter spokesperson, Kangana’s account was constantly provoking anger and violence, which was diminishing the value of global public conversation on the platform.

The Twitter rules under which the ‘Manikarnika’ star’s account was blocked stated, “Twitter’s purpose is to serve the public conversation. Violence, harassment and other similar types of behaviour discourage people from expressing themselves and ultimately diminish the value of global public conversation. Our rules are to ensure all people can participate in the public conversation freely and safely.”

After Elon Musk took over the reins of the micro-blogging site in October last year, Kangana expressed her willingness to be back on Twitter.

Ranaut’s Instagram stories were cascading her fan’s requests to retrieve the actor’s suspended account. (ANI)

Munda Slams Owaisi Remarks On BBC Doc, Says SC's Decision To Be Respected

Munda Slams Owaisi Remarks On BBC Doc, Says SC’s Decision To Be Respected

Union Minister Arjun Munda on Monday slammed AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi over UK’s British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC)’s documentary on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that he should respect the Supreme Court which gave a clean chit to the then Gujarat Chief Minister.

Hitting out at PM Modi over the Centre’s move to block the BBC documentary about the 2002 Gujarat riots, Owaisi questioned whether the Prime Minister would also block the upcoming movie on Godse, who assassinated MK Gandhi.
“Modi government has banned BBC interviews on Twitter and YouTube in India. We ask PM Modi whether someone from outside the earth or from the sky killed the people in the Gujarat riots?” he said.

Slamming Owaisi’s statement on PM Modi regarding the documentary, Munda said, “The country is growing under the leadership of PM Modi. But it is sad to see that people pelt more stones at the tree which bears more fruits. The country is in a stable condition and is moving forward just because of our Prime Minister.”

Citing the Supreme Court judgement on the Gujarat riots, the Minister said that the decision of the top court should be accepted by all.

“In many cases, the Supreme Court has made it clear, taking into account all the factors in its decision, it has explained what kind of people were responsible for the Gujarat riots. The Supreme Court has also clearly stated those who are innocent. What the Supreme Court has said should be respected because all things that happen in this country, the courts interpret them and give justice,” Munda said.

UK’s British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) aired a two-part series attacking PM Modi’s tenure as Gujarat Chief Minister during the Gujarat riots of 2002. The documentary sparked outrage and was removed from select platforms.

In a strong rebuttal to the BBC documentary on Modi, more than 300 eminent Indians including retired judges, retired bureaucrats, and retired armed forces veterans signed a statement slamming the British national broadcaster for showing “unrelenting prejudice” toward India and its leader. (ANI)
