‘The Kashmir Files’ Adjudged ‘Best Film’ At Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival

Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri’s directorial ‘The Kashmir Files’ bagged the Best Film award at Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards held in Mumbai on Monday.

Sharing the update, Vivek took to Twitter and said that he dedicated the award to “all the victims of terrorism and to all the people of India for your blessings.”
“#TheKashmirFiles wins the ‘Best Film’ award at #DadaSahebPhalkeAwards2023.

“This award is dedicated to all the victims of terrorism and to all the people of India for your blessings,” he wrote.

Netizens flooded Vivek’s comment section with congratulatory wishes.

“Wow! Congratulations, well deserved,” a social media user commented.

“Huge congratulations to the team,” another one wrote.

‘The Kashmir Files’ documents the alleged genocide and exile of Kashmiri Pandits in 1990, during the insurgency in Jammu and Kashmir. The film features Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Pallavi Joshi, Darshan Kumaar, Chinmay Mandlekar, and Bhasha Sumbli.

The film had a successful run at the box office.

The Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards 2023 also saw Alia Bhatt lifting the trophy for ‘Best Actress’.

Her husband Ranbir Kapoor collected the ‘Best Actor’ award for his performance in ‘Brahmastra’. Veteran actor Rekha was honoured for her ‘Outstanding Contribution To The Film Industry’.

On veteran actor Randhir Kapoor’s birthday, his daughter and actor Kareena Kapoor shared a cute picture of the ‘Jawani Diwani’ actor with his grandson Jeh.

Taking to Instagram, Kareena shared the picture which she captioned, “Both my favourite boys doing what I love the most. Happy Birthday Papa I love you so much!”

In the picture, Randhir and Jeh could be seen looking at each other and making cute pout faces in front of a dining table.

Veteran star Randhir Kapoor is known for his amazing performances in films like ‘Jawani Diwani’, ‘Ponga Pandit’, ‘Raampur ka Lakshman’, and many more.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Kareena will be seen sharing screen space with Tabu, Kriti Sanon and Diljit Dosanjh in a new film titled ‘The Crew’.

The film is produced by the super-hit producer duo of ‘Veere Di Wedding’, Ektaa R Kapoor, and Rhea Kapoor. Rajesh Krishnan has come on board to helm the project.

According to a statement from the makers, ‘The Crew’ is touted as a laugh-riot, set against the backdrop of the struggling airline industry. Three women, work and hustle to make it in life. However, their destinies lead to some unwarranted situations and they get caught in a web of lies.

Apart from ‘The Crew’, she will be next seen in director Sujoy Ghosh’s thriller which is based on the book ‘The Devotion of Suspect X’. It also stars Vijay Varma and Jaideep Ahlawat.

Disha Shares Candid Pic With Jackie Chan

Actor Disha Patani is remembering her ‘Kung Fu Yoga’ days as she shared a picture with legendary martial artist and actor Jackie Chan.

Taking to Instagram Story, Disha posted a picture of herself and the senior actor. The picture sees the two smiling as they pose for the picture but it goes candid. It also shows other people who are posing for the camera.
She dropped a pink heart with the image.

‘Kung Fu Yoga’ was released worldwide in 2017 and is a Chinese action comedy movie. It later became the highest-grossing film of Jackie Chan in China. Besides Disha, the film also had two other Bollywood actors – Sonu Sood and Amyra Dastur.

Recently, Disha Patani K-pop star Jackson Wang. In viral pics and clips, the two were seen roaming around the streets of Mumbai and making the most of their time. Disha gave Wang a tour of Mumbai in a vintage carriage.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Disha is all set to collaborate with the National award-winning actor Suriya for an upcoming project. Helmed by Siruthai Siva, the film is touted to be a 3D periodic drama and is tentatively titled ‘Suriya 42’. The film will be made in 10 languages and in two parts.

Disha will also be seen in producer Karan Johar’s next action film ‘Yodha’ opposite Sidharth Malhotra and in ‘Project K’ alongside Amitabh Bachchan, Prabhas, and Deepika Padukone. (ANI)

Raveena: Lost Out On Movie Roles Due To Jealous B’wood Heroine

In a three-decade-long cinematic journey, Raveena Tandon has received numerous accolades for her work. But it has not been an easy ride always as she has faced struggles too.

In an exclusive interview with ANI, the ‘Mohra’ star revealed how she lost films in the nineties as a co-star’s partner was ‘insecure’.
“There was a film that was offered to me for which the original star cast was a very big hit pair and me and another person who was a hit pair. But unfortunately for me, that person who was my co-star in a couple of films, started dating one of the heroines who couldn’t stand me, who had this real competitive jealousy, rivalry with me,” she said

“So she kind of told him that if I see you talking to her or something, I am going to dump you…You can’t do more films with her. We were a hit pair. He told me whenever she is going to come on the sets, I am not going to talk to you. I asked why we are friends. I mean there is nothing, you know whom I am dating so what’s the big deal, I am dating someone else. So he was like no, no, but don’t talk to me when she is around and suddenly one day, I was told sorry you have to leave these films because he doesn’t want to work with you anymore,” she added.

Raveena said she tried to reason out with the co-star.

“I was like but why? As luck would have it that the producer to whom he went and said or recommended his girlfriend, the producer only dropped him. Said I don’t want to sign her because she doesn’t suit the role, only Raveena suits the role. Okay fine, if you don’t want Raveena for it, then I will drop you and her but I will never sign that girl,” she said.

Raveena also talked about her stepping out of films.

“So there were people who stick to their conviction also what the character suits, right? So that does happen as well. It’s okay that they didn’t ask us for the signing amount back or whatever. I haven’t kind of breached the contract, so it’s from their (side). And then there are so many times that you do it out of emotion. I remember a very popular film director came up to me and he was in love with his heroine. And he signed me opposite Sunny for some film and he came to my house and said you are like my younger sister, you are my sister. You know I am madly in love with her, I want to marry her but she will kill me and I have signed you this and that. So, please help me make my relationship work. I said no problem, I will step out of the film. And she got the role and I stepped out of the film. That film did kind of well. I have done that also so many times, helped people but nothing worked for them. So, I think, ultimately, it’s karma then.”

Raveena was recently honoured with the Padma Shri, the fourth-highest civilian award in India.

On the work front, she received a lot of appreciation for her performance in the blockbuster hit pan-India film ‘KGF- Chapter 2’.

In the coming months, she will be seen rekindling her on-screen chemistry with Sanjay Dutt after a two-year gap in the romantic-comedy ‘Ghudchadi’.

Apart from that, Raveena will also be seen in Arbaz Khan’s production ‘Patna Shukla’. (ANI)

Nora Vs Jacqueline: Court To Hear Defamation Case On Mar 25

The Patiala House court in New Delhi on Monday listed the hearing on a defamation complaint filed by Bollywood actor Nora Fatehi for March 25.

Nora recently filed a defamation suit against fellow Bollywood actor Jacqueline Fernandez and various media organizations in a Delhi court.

Nora Fatehi and Jacqueline Fernandez both were recently questioned by different investigation agencies in the Rs 200 crore extortion case involving conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar and others.

The matter was listed before Metropolitan Magistrate (MM) Kapil Gupta on Saturday, but the matter could not be taken up as the concerned magistrate was on official training.

On December 19, 2022, the court noted that counsel for the complainant sought some time to file a list of witnesses. The complainant is at liberty to file appropriate documents on or before the next date of hearing.

Nora through complaint claimed that Jacqueline Fernandez’s statement has caused harm to her reputation and for malicious reasons.

Nora Fatehi in criminal defamation case stated that she is aggrieved of defamatory remarks made by Jacqueline Fernandez initially which was further carried forward and circulated by the other accused persons (media organizations), all of whom were acting in connivance with each other, and a conspiracy by Jacqueline Fernandez to ensure the financial, social, and personal

the downfall of the complainant (Fatehi) was hatched and enacted by the said actions.

Fatehi in the defamation case alleged that Jacqueline also maliciously attempted to absolve herself from her actions in other criminal proceedings which are absolutely unrelated to the Complainant.

It has started to become evident that the aforementioned rivals being unable to compete with the Complainant fairly in the industry have started to try and tarnish her reputation which would cause her loss of work and hence would open up greener pastures for her rivals in the industry.

It is also pertinent to submit here that the reputation of any person in the film industry is an asset and any dent in the same would cause huge and irreparable damage to their career, stated Nora Fatehi.

Nora through her advocates Vikram Singh Chauhan, Umair Ahmed, and Tanisha stated that Jacqueline made a “false statement” which was “unnecessary and unwarranted”. Jacqueline “unnecessarily dragged the complainant” and “defamed her as she is in the same industry and is fully aware that the business of any artist and their career is solely based on their reputation. It’s Wrap For Ajay Devgn-Tabu Starrer ‘Bholaa’

The shooting for Ajay Devgn-starrer ‘Bholaa’ has come to an end. On Thursday, Ajay took to Instagram and shared this update with his fans and followers.

“Shooting has wrapped; the post-production frenzy has already begun. Remember, we have a date – March 30th in the theatres,” a post read on Ajay Devgn Ffilms’ Instagram handle.

‘Bholaa’ is an official Hindi remake of the Tamil hit ‘Kaithi’ and Ajay has directed it. It has been styled as the story of a “one-man army, set in one night, fighting a multitude of enemies in various forms, human and otherwise.”

Ajay has helmed the film, which will also feature Tabu, Sanjay Mishra, Deepak Dobrial, Raai Lakshmi, and Makrand Deshpande in prominent roles. It is all set to hit the theatres on March 30, 2023.

Ajay will also be seen in producer Boney Kapoor’s upcoming sports drama film ‘Maidaan’, besides in director Neeraj Pandey’s upcoming film and in Rohit Shetty’s ‘Singham Again’ opposite Deepika Padukone. (ANI)

Akshay Calls On Yogi, Discusses Film City Project

Actor Akshay Kumar called on Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday.

The actor discussed the much-anticipated Film City project in Uttar Pradesh during his meeting with the CM, who is currently in Mumbai on a two-day visit, at the Taj Hotel.
He also discussed his most recent movie, ‘Ramsetu,’ urging the CM to watch it.

During the meeting, which spanned 35 minutes, Kumar informed the UP CM that there is a great deal of excitement in the Indian film industry around the Film City project. Many big production houses, producers, directors, and actors are waiting for the film city in UP to be up and running, the actor is learned to have told CM Adityanath.

He said the development of a world-class Film and Infotainment City in UP will provide a new option for those in the movie business to plan their projects.

Akshay also discussed with the UP CM the research and preparations that went into the finalizing of the script of ‘Ramsetu’, as he reiterated that Adityanath should watch his film only once.

CM Yogi said cinema has a big role in raising public awareness and filmmakers should give importance to issues of social and national importance while selecting subjects.

He said the film city in UP will be at par with global standards, adding that a new film policy is also being formulated. He also invited the actor to visit Uttar Pradesh. (ANI)

Alia Gets Shoutout From BFI Curator

After ‘Loki’ star Sophia Di Martino, Robin Baker from the British Film Institute National Archive has heaped praise on actress Alia Bhatt over her performance in ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’.

Taking to Instagram, Robin penned a note saying he was moved by Alia’s acting skills in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s directorial. In his note, he also said that Alia should be nominated at the British Academy Film Awards and Oscars for her performance in ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’.
“If I was a member of BAFTA or the Academy (I’m not), this year I would be voting for Alia Bhatt as Best Actress for her performance in GANGUBAI KATHIAWADI (Sanjay Leela Bhansali, India, 2022). She plays a prostitute turned underworld brothel madam turned campaigner for sex workers’ rights, and the joy of her performance is how she grows as her character develops,” he wrote.

“The film is big, brash, sentimental, and hugely enjoyable, but Bhatt is sensational. “Woahhh. What a turn @aliabhatt is going to take over the world in about a minute and a half #GangubaiKathiawadi” Martino wrote alongside the film’s poster,” she wrote.

Alia shared a screenshot of Martino’s post and thanked her.”This means so much from someone who is about to take over a whole multiverse,” Alia wrote. In her reply to Bhatt, Martino said, “Casual Fan Girling over here.”

‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’, which was released in theatres on February 25, 2022, revolves around a girl sold by a suitor into prostitution and how she becomes a prominent and celebrated figure in the underworld and Kamathipua red-light district. Shraddha Kapoor Gives A Peek Into Her Resolutions

Bollywood actor Shraddha Kapoor, on Sunday, gave a sneak peek into her 2023 plans.

taking to Instagram, Shraddha treated fans with a glimpse of the first day of the year 2023. Sharing the pictures, she wrote, “Agar 2023 ka har din Aaj ki Tarah start ho, are you???”

On the work front, Shraddha recently unveiled the title of her upcoming romantic comedy film ‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar’ opposite Ranbir Kapoor.

Helmed by Luv Ranjan, the film is all set to hit the theatres on March 8, 2023.

Apart from the title, the makers also revealed a short teaser of the film which got massive responses from the audience.

With a hint of the finger-snapping title music by Pritam and lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya, the teaser video revealed the title and introduces the fun and funky chemistry between Ranbir and Shraddha as they lend their voice to the track.

The title video gave a sneak peek into the effervescent mischievous world of the film with adorable glimpses of the ‘Jhoothi’ played by Shraddha and ‘Makkar’ Ranbir.

The film marks the first on-screen collaboration between Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor.
