Modi Honours ‘Nari Shakti’ At Mirabai’s 525th Birth Anniv Event In Mathura

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing the 525th birth anniversary of saint Mirabai in Uttar Pradesh’s Mathura on Thursday, emphasized India’s reverence for ‘Nari Shakti’ and Mirabai’s significant contributions to society.

He also highlighted Mirabai’s role during challenging times, saying, “A saint like Mirabai showed that the self-confidence of women has the power to give direction to the whole world.”

“Our India has always been a country that worshipped Nari Shakti. Who else can understand this better than the people of Braj? Here, address, communication, respect, everything happens only by saying Radhe-Radhe. Even Krishna’s name is complete when Radha is used first. Women in our country have always taken up responsibilities and have also continuously guided the society,” PM Modi said while addressing the ‘Saint Mirabai Janmotsav’ programme.

Highlighting Mirabai’s contributions to society, PM Modi said, “Saint Mirabai ji showed the society the path which was most needed at that period. During India’s difficult times, a saint like Mirabai showed that the self-confidence of women has the power to give direction to the whole world.”

He further said that Mirabai’s 525th birth anniversary is not just the birth anniversary of a saint.

“This is a celebration of the entire culture of India, this is a celebration of love-tradition, this festival is also a celebration of the idea of non-difference between Nar and Narayan, Jeeva and Shiva, devotee and God,” he added.

The Prime Minister said that his visit to Mathura is ‘special’ adding that Braj has a unique relation with Gujarat.

“The Kanha of Mathura became Dwarkadheesh after going to Gujarat. Saint Mira Bai who came to Mathura from Rajasthan, spent her last moments in Dwarka. Saint Mira’s worship is incomplete without Vrindavan,” he said.

PM Modi also pledged development for the Braj region, expressing that the area was overlooked post-independence.

“Braj region kept the country safe even in difficult times. But when the country became independent, this holy pilgrimage did not get the importance it should have. Those who wanted to disconnect India from its past, those who were detached from India’s culture and its spiritual identity, who could not give up the mentality of slavery even after independence, also deprived Braj land of development,” he said.

“Today Vishwanath Dham is in front of us in a grand form in Kashi. Today, divinity as well as grandeur can be seen in Mahakal Mahalok of Ujjain. Now, the date of the inauguration of Lord Shri Ram’s temple in Ayodhya is also drawing near. Mathura and Braj will also not be left behind in this race of development,” the Prime Minister added.

Further emphasizing on building a developed India, PM Modi said, “These changes and developments taking place in the Braj region and the country are not just a change in the system. This is a symbol of the changing nature of our nation, its reawakening consciousness.”

“And Mahabharata is proof that, wherever India is reborn, there is definitely the blessings of Shri Krishna behind it. With the strength of that blessing, we will fulfil our resolutions and build a developed India,” he added.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Actor and BJP MP from Mathura, Hema Malini, also graced the event held in Mathura today.

During the event, PM Modi released a commemorative stamp and coin in honour of Sant Mirabai. (ANI)

Huge Debt Of Businessmen Written Off, Farmers Harassed Due To Policies Of Centre: Rahul

Looming Threat Of Deep Fakes In Digital Media A Big Concern: Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday highlighted the threats of deep fakes in new-age digital media content and said that it was important to understand how Artificial Intelligence (AI) works since they could be used to purposefully spread false information or have malicious intent behind their use.

Addressing the gathering at the Diwali Milan program at the BJP Headquarters on Friday, Prime Minister Modi spoke to the journalists about the dangers of deep fakes in digital media.

The prime minister urged the media persons to educate the people about the negative effects of using artificial intelligence to spread harmful content such as misrepresentation of individuals in deep fakes.

“I recently saw a video in which I was seen singing a Garba song. There are many other such videos online,” said PM Modi adding that the looming threat of Deepfake has become a great concern and can create a lot of problems for all of us.

Deepfakes are used to purposefully spread false information or they may have a malicious intent behind their use. They can be designed to harass, intimidate, demean and undermine people. Deepfakes can also create misinformation and confusion about important issues.

The Centre has said that creation and circulation of Deepfakes carry strong penalty – Rs 1 lakh in fine and three years in jail.

Misrepresentation of individuals in Deepfakes has led to the generation of blackmail materials to falsely incriminate people. As these videos and audio recordings can be difficult to verify, the negative impact on reputation can be difficult to recover from, even when verified as a Deepfake.

The Prime Minister further said that the ‘Vocal for local’ campaign has found people’s support and that the idea of a fully developed India was not just mere words but had touched ground reality.

The PM further said that local businesses had blossomed under the vocal for local campaigns and stated that we all must prioritise our local products.

“We now have a strong position on a global level, the world now acknowledges our achievements,” added the prime minister.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with the BJP leadership arrived for the ‘Diwali Milan’ program at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) central office in the national capital. Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP national president JP Nadda have also arrived at the event that has been organised by the ruling party.

Modi Condemns Civilian Deaths In Israel-Hamas War

Condemning the mounting civilian deaths in the ongoing Israel-Hamas war, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said new challenges are emerging from the events in West Asia.

Reiterating India’s condemnation of the Hamas terror attacks in southern Israel on October 7, PM Modi also highlighted that New Delhi has also sent humanitarian aid to the people of Palestine.

In his opening address at the Voice of Global South Summit earlier on Friday, Prime Minister Modi said, “For global prosperity, sabka saath and sabka vikas is parmount. We all are seeing that new challenges are emerging from the events in the West Asia region.”

“India has condemned the terrorist attack in Israel on October 7. We have laid emphasis on exercising restraint, dialogue and diplomacy,” he added.

PM Modi said that India has also sent humanitarian aid to the people of Palestine.

“We also strongly condemn the deaths of civilians in the conflict between Israel and Hamas. After talking to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, we have also sent humanitarian aid to the people of Palestine,” he added.

“This is the time when the countries of the Global South should unite for the greater global good,” Prime Minister Modi stated.

The Second Voice of Global South Summit is taking place in a virtual mode. The Second Voice of the Global South Summit would focus on sharing with countries of the Global South the key outcomes achieved in various G20 meetings over the course of India’s Presidency.

The challenges posed by global developments are also likely to be discussed. Further, the summit will serve as a platform to discuss ways to sustain the momentum generated towards our common aspiration of a more inclusive, representative and progressive world order.

Recently, Israel President Isaac Herzog said India advocates peace and can definitely pursue the voice of reason, security for Israel and peace for the region.

In an exclusive interview with ANI, Herzog described India as “a very important nation in the world” and “one of the greatest countries on earth”.

“India is a very important nation in the world and it was my true honour to speak at the joint session of US Congress in Washington in July, just a few weeks after PM Modi spoke. We believe India advocates peace and is a very impressive country, one of the greatest on earth and India can definitely pursue the voice of reason, security for Israel and peace for the region,” the Israel President said.

He was asked about India’s position on the sequence of events following Hamas’ attack on Israel on October 7. The war between Israel and Hamas has entered the 41st day.

Asked if India can play a role to mediate or moderate the conflict, the Israel President talked about the need to rebuild Gaza as a peaceful place and noted that there can then be talk about true dialogue between Israelis and Palestinians and India has a lot to contribute to these ideas.

“I don’t know, I’m not sure but I say that the day after, part of the issue will be how do we rebuild Gaza again and how we make sure that Gaza is a safe haven and a peaceful place and then we can speak about doing business with the Mediterranean and having Israelis and Palestinians have a true dialogue. India has a lot to contribute to all these ideas,” he told ANI.

Israeli Ambassador to India Naor Gilon had last month urged New Delhi to designate Hamas as a terror organisation in India as well.

He stated that both India and Israel have a “shared war” against terror and counter-terrorism is one of the areas where the countries align.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was one of the first global leaders to condemn the terror attack on Israel.

India has said it sees the attack by Hamas on Israel as “a terrorist attack” and that it has always advocated the resumption of direct negotiations towards establishing a sovereign, independent and viable state of Palestine that lives side by side at peace with Israel.

The conflict in Gaza escalated after the October 7 attack by Hamas, where about 2,500 terrorists breached the border into Israel from the Gaza Strip, leading to casualties and the seizure of hostages.

Israel has characterised its Gaza offensive as targeting Hamas’ infrastructure with the goal of eliminating the entire terror group while making efforts to minimize civilian casualties. (ANI)
