Bihar Panchayat Settles Rape Of Minor By Asking Accused To Do 5 Sit-Ups

In a shocking incident that has come to light from Bihar’s Nawada district, the panchayat allegedly let off a rape accused after ordering him to do sit-ups as punishment, police sources said.

The local police informed that the accused was from the same village as the minor girl he allegedly raped.
Sources said three days ago, a panchayat was convened in the matter and the panchayat chief or mukhiya, as the post is called locally, sentenced the accused youth to do sit-ups 5 times as a punishment for the alleged rape.

According to a statement issued by the local police, “A village panchayat was called and the matter settled after the youth accused of raping a minor girl was made to do five sit-ups.”

“A video purportedly showing the youth doing sit-ups went viral on social media,” said an officer of the local police station.

The viral video of the panchayat allegedly settling the rape case by way of light punishment for the accused drew outrage from netizens.

“On the basis of the viral video, an FIR was registered on the order of the Nawada SP,” the officer added.

The SHO of the local police station told ANI, “An FIR has been registered in the case and all angles are being looked into as part of the ongoing investigation.” (ANI)

Devi Basu Singh Grover Television actor Karan Singh Grover and Bollywood icon Bipasha Basu took to Instagram to share the happy news of their baby girl’s birth. “The physical manifestation of our love and blessings of Ma is here now and she is divine,” the post read. It is no surprise, then, that they named their little one ‘Devi’. The word means ‘divine woman’ or ‘goddess’ in Sanskrit.

However, earlier this year, they had their first daughter, who was named ‘Lianna’. Though not so common in India, it is a common name in Western countries. It means ‘to wrap’ or ‘to bind’ in French. Suitcase With Body Parts Found In Haryana; Police Suspect Links With Shraddha Murder

The body remains recovered from a suitcase at a forest area in Haryana’s Faridabad on Thursday afternoon are suspected to be of the 27-year-old woman from Mumbai, Shraddha Walkar, who was killed by her live-in partner in Delhi.

Faridabad Police have contacted the Delhi Police following the recovery of the suitcase with body parts in the Surajkund forest area.
According to police, the remains were wrapped in a plastic bag and a sack, and clothes and a belt were also recovered near the suitcase.

Prima facie, it appeared that a person was murdered elsewhere and a part of the body was dumped here to avoid identification, Faridabad Police said in a statement.

Faridabad police have shared the information with Delhi police, and on the basis of which, a team of Mehrauli police of South Delhi, investigating the horrific Shraddha murder case, also reached the spot and joined the investigation.

Delhi police officials suspect that the body remains recovered from the suitcase could be linked with the Shraddha Walker murder case.

The body parts (including the torso) found in the suitcase appears to be months old, and it is not clear if they were of a man or woman, said sources.

They said that the body remains have been sent for post-mortem examination, and things will become clear once the post-mortem report is received.

“Faridabad police officials have also said that they will keep samples aside, in case Delhi police would want to go for a DNA test,” official sources told ANI.

Aaftab Amin Poonawalla, accused in the macabre Shraddha Walkar murder case, is currently in police custody and is undergoing Perceptual Ability Test (PAT) – a psychological analysis test.

Aaftab is accused of strangling Shraddha, his live-in partner, to death and chopping her body into 35 pieces. He is also alleged to have preserved the chopped body parts in a refrigerator before dumping them in the forests of south Delhi’s Chhatarpur.

Aaftab and Shraddha met on a dating site and moved in together to a rented accommodation in Chhatarpur as the relationship grew.

On receipt of the complaint from Shraddha’s father, Delhi Police registered an FIR on November 10 and arrested the accused later.

Subsequent interrogation of the accused revealed that Aaftab killed Shraddha on May 18 after which he started researching ways to dispose of the body.

He also borrowed ideas on disposal from popular crime shows on his streaming devices, Delhi Police revealed. He also told police that he read up on human anatomy before chopping his girlfriend’s body.

Police said after browsing on the internet for ways to remove all traces of his crime, Aaftab mopped blood stains from the floor of the couple’s Chhatarpur apartment with some chemicals and also disposed of all stained clothes.

He then shifted the body to the bathroom and bought a refrigerator where he hoarded the chopped body parts, police further informed. (ANI)

Amitabh’s Voice, Image, Characteristics, Can’t Be Used Without Consent: Delhi HC

Bollywood legend and veteran Actor Amitabh Bachchan filed a suit in Delhi High Court seeking protection of his personality rights, image, voice, or any of his characteristics without his consent, following which the court passed an interim ex-parte injunction in his favour.

Eminent lawyer Harish Salve along with Ameet Naik and Pravin Anand, instructed by Anand and Naik, appeared for Bachchan in the High Court. The matter was heard before Justice Navin Chawla.
Salve submitted that there is a complete misuse of Amitabh Bachchan’s name, image, voice, or any of his characteristics without his consent.

“The misuse of his name, image, and voice, especially by the mobile application developers, and people conducting lottery by illegally associating with KBC, book publishers, T-shirt vendors, and various other businesses, has prompted Mr. Amitabh Bachchan to approach the High Court, seeking a restraining order against the use of his personality traits,” Salve said.

The lawyer for Amitabh Bachchan also brought to the notice of the Delhi High Court that alleged infringers have illegally registered Bachchan’s name as web-domain names such as www.amitabhbachchan.com and www.amitabhbachchan.in.

Delhi High Court’s Justice Navin Chawla noted that the plaintiff/Amitabh Bachchan alleges a violation of his publicity right as a celebrity.

The court further noted that it could not seriously be disputed that the plaintiff is a very well-known personality and is aggrieved by the usage of his name, image voice, etc without his consent.

“I am of the opinion that the plaintiff has been able to make out prima facie case in his favour. The defendants appear to be using celebrity status without his authorization, permission, and consent,” the HC judge said.

Justice Navin Chawla in his interim order passed an interim ex-parte injunction in favour of the Plaintiff/ Amitabh Bachchan and against the defendants.

The plea stated that there is an infringement of the Plaintiff’s personality through various manners like digital means, instant messaging apps, physical means, etc.

The digital means include several websites and mobile apps that have been found misappropriating the plaintiff’s photographs and/or other characteristics, to create popularity amongst the public and to entice members of the public to download such mobile apps.

The instant messaging apps include several unscrupulous parties that have been found using Bachchan’s photograph along with his name, and the representation of a TV Show ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ (which is associated with Bachchan), to scam the public into believing that Kaun Banega Crorepati is offering lottery prizes to the members of the public.

The physical means include the cases where dishonest traders physically affix the actor’s images and posters on their places of business, on billboards, or even on products that they engage in the manufacture and sale of, with the aim to unlawfully show a nexus/affiliation/sponsorship/association with the plaintiff, so as to boost their illegal profits. BJP leader Manoj Tiwari on Saturday slammed Omar Abdullah'

Sisodia Alleges BJP Conspiring To Kill Kejriwal; Manoj Terms Murder Script Old One

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Manish Sisodia on Friday again alleged that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was conspiring to kill Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and that he will submit a complaint regarding the same to the Election Commission. The Delhi Deputy Chief Minister also demanded that BJP’s Manoj Tiwari be arrested for his “threat” against the AAP national convenor.

“Manoj Tiwari has threatened Kejriwal, which makes it clear that BJP is conspiring to murder Arvind Kejriwal. The way Manoj Tiwari Ji has spoken yesterday, it was an open threat that after failing to trap Kejriwal through various attempts has now come to the level of killing him. Manoj Tiwari is asserting for the sake of saying that he (Delhi CM) can be attacked by anyone, how did he know? This needs to be investigated hence will file a complaint with Election Commission and an FIR,” Sisodia said addressing a press conference today.
Meanwhile, responding to Sisodia’s allegations today, Tiwari, while addressing a press conference in the national capital, said that he had only “expressed his concern” for the safety of the Delhi Chief Minister.

“I have only expressed my concern towards Kejriwal’s safety. His MLAs are being beaten and one of the party’s workers has died, the situation is of concern to me. This script of murder and threat to murder by AAP is an old one, only the year changes, their allegations remain same,” Tiwari said displaying printouts of the previous similar allegations by the AAP.

In a tweet yesterday, the Delhi Deputy CM said that the BJP was scared of losing upcoming elections and hence was “conspiring to kill” CM Kejriwal through MP Manoj Tiwari and his “goons”.

“Due to the fear of defeat in Gujarat and MCD elections, BJP is planning to kill Arvind Kejriwal with their MP Manoj Tiwari openly asking his goons to attack Arvind Ji. The AAP is not afraid of their petty politics, the public will answer for their hooliganism,” Sisodia tweeted in Hindi.

Sisodia’s tweets followed BJP MP Tiwari’s tweets on the same day in which he said he was worried for the Delhi CM because of anger among AAP party workers regarding tickets for the elections and allegations of corruption.

Meanwhile, Delhi BJP spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor also asked how Sisodia came with a fear of Arvind Kejriwal’s killing right before every election.

Praveen Shankar Kapoor further said, “Manish Sisodia ji, how much more will you lower the level of politics, your people are calling you a thief, a case of suspected suicide has also come to the fore, your MLAs are openly threatening the general public and now this tweet of yours seems to be your internal survey. AAP is losing not only in Gujarat, and Himachal but also in Delhi.

In a shocking incident, Aam Aadmi Party’s trade wing secretary, Sandeep Bhardwaj, was found dead at his Rajouri Garden residence on Thursday.

Notably, Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena took note of the tweets and statements by the Aam Aadmi Party leaders including the ones made by Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia where he has alleged Bharatiya Janata Party of planning to kill CM Arvind Kejriwal, the Raj Niwas sources said.

The sources said that the LG has taken note of Tweets and statements by AAP leaders, including Dy CM Manish Sisodia, and asked the Police Commissioner to ensure that such eventuality orchestrated, or otherwise, does not happen, to the farthest possible extent. (ANI)

We Are Taught History Written Under Conspiracy During Colonial Era: Modi

Stressing on the need to rewrite India’s history, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Friday that despite country’s rich history of victory and sacrifice, colonial-era history is taught in educational institutes.

While speaking at the 400th birth anniversary celebration of Lachit Barphukan, the Prime Minister said that India’s history was distorted deliberately.
“In every corner of the country, Bravehearts of Maa Bharati faced the oppressors and sacrificed their lives. This history was deliberately hidden. Is the valour of Lachit Barphukan not important? Are the sacrifices of thousands of people in Assam against the Mughals not important?” said PM Modi.

He said that there was a need after independence to fight the agenda of those ruling over us. But that was not done.

Unfortunately, even after independence, we were taught the same history that was created under a conspiracy during the colonial era. After independence, it was needed to change the agenda of those who colonised us but it wasn’t done,” said the Prime Minister.

PM Modi said that India’s history is not just about colonialism but it is a history of warriors.

“For centuries, it was attempted to tell us we are people who always get looted, beaten, and lost. India’s history is not just about colonialism, it’s a history of warriors. India’s history is about displaying valour against oppressors, about victory, sacrifice, and great tradition,” he said.

He further said that today India has broken the shackles of colonialism and is moving forward, celebrating our heritage and remembering our heroes with pride.

“Today, India is not only celebrating its varied heritage but also remembering its braveheart unsung heroes,” he added.

“Assam’s history is a matter of great pride in India’s journey. We believe in uniting the various thoughts, beliefs, and cultures of India. India has always valued its rich and cultural heritage; we have always protected our spiritual and cultural principles. That’s what makes us a marvellous civilization.”

The Prime Minister said India has the ability to give a befitting reply to those who practice atrocities.

“India’s history is the history of warriors, the history of victory, the history of sacrifice, selflessness, and bravery. Each and every youth of India is a warrior when it comes to saving their cultural heritage from any external forces,” he said.

While addressing today, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma had asked historians to highlight the achievements of leaders like Lachit Barphukan, Chhatrapati Shivaji, Guru Gobind Singh, and Durgadas Rathore among others to show history in a new light.

“Humble request to our historians that India isn’t just the story of Aurangzeb, Babar, Jahangir, or Humayun. India is of Lachit Barphukan, Chhatrapati Shivaji, Guru Gobind Singh, Durgadas Rathore. We should make an effort to see it in a new light. It will fulfill our dream to be a Vishwa Guru,” Sarma said.

This comes a day after Union Home Minister Amit Shah made a similar statement, saying no one can stop rewriting history adding that Indian history is twisted and inaccurately written, and appealed to historians and research scholars to rewrite it.

“I have always heard that our history is twisted and inaccurately written. It might be true, but who can now stop us from writing about our glorious history? We have to take the courage, rewrite and present our history before the world,” the Union Home Minister said.

Shah appealed to the historians and research scholars attending the function to get over this narrative that Indian history is twisted and inaccurately written.

He asked them to write about 30 empires that ruled for more than 150 years in any part of the country and 300 such great personalities who fought and sacrificed themselves during the country’s freedom struggle.

Born on 24th November 1622 in Charaideo, Lachit Barphukan was known for his extraordinary military intelligence in defeating the Mughals, thereby halting the expanding ambitions of Aurangzeb in the Battle of Saraighat.

On November 24, each year, Lachit Diwas is celebrated state-wide in Assam to commemorate the heroism of Lachit Borphukan and the victory of the Assamese army at the Battle of Saraighat.

A flagship event was organized by the Centre at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi to showcase the life of one of the greatest warriors of eastern India and celebrate his achievements outside his home state to pay nationwide tribute on the leader’s 400 birth anniversary. (ANI)

Sandeep Suicide Case: Can’t Connect It With Ticket, Says Sisodia

A day after Aam Aadmi Party leader Sandeep Bhardwaj’s body was found hanging at his residence in the national capital, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Friday said it was wrong to allege the AAP leader took his life as he was denied a party ticket to contest the upcoming MCD polls.
Meanwhile, the BJP has alleged that Bhardwaj did not die by suicide but he was murdered.

Addressing a press conference here today, the Delhi deputy chief minister Sisodia said, “This is very sad. Sandeep ji was close to me too. He used to play a very important role in the trade wing. You cannot connect the death with ticket, it’s wrong.”

Sisodia was responding to a question that the AAP leader Bharadwaj committed suicide because he was denied ticket to contest the municipal corporation elections.

AAP’s trade wing secretary was found dead at his Rajouri Garden residence on Thursday, police said.

BJP leader Manoj Tiwari today alleged that Bhardwaj did not die by suicide.

“I believe it is not suicide but murder. Sandeep Bhardwaj was assured ticket. Evidence doesn’t make it look like suicide. It’s also coming to the knowledge that a ticket for that seat was sold. Abetting suicide is also like murder. AAP chief and leadership have committed sin,” said Tiwari.

Bhardwaj was taken to “Kukreja hospital” by one of his friends, Delhi Police said.

Delhi Police said that a PCR call was received from Kukreja Hospital, Rajouri Garden at 4.40 pm yesterday about 55 year-old Sandeep Bhardwaj being brought dead due to hanging at his residence.

A crime team reached the spot of the crime and inquest proceedings under section 174 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) were initiated.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal yesterday expressed grief over Bhardwaj’s death and offered his condolences.

“Extremely saddened by the sudden death of Aam Aadmi Party worker Sandeep Bhardwaj in Delhi. May God give his soul a place at his holy feet. My condolences to his family members in this hour of grief and the entire party stands with the family members of Sandeep ji in this difficult time,” tweeted CM Kejriwal.

Distortion of Rajput History

PM Modi Must Intervene To Stop Distortion of Rajput History

Krishna Solanki, mother of the heir of the Royal Panarwa estate Bhanwar Parikshit Solanki, says there is a conscious attempt to distort Rajput history for political gains

I shall like to set in order the legacy of my great ancestors, particularly Rana Punja ji Solanki who was one of the fiercest commanders of Maharana Pratap and led a band of Bhil archers against the Mughal army in 16th century. He remains a revered figure among Rajput clans of Rajasthan and among the natives of mountainous region Bhomat. However, it is a matter of pain and anguish for me to see the history of my ancestors being misrepresented by politicians for petty gains.

In several events related to Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, several infographics circulated by state media department Raja Punja ji have been depicted as a Bhil warrior. BJP MP from Rajsamand, Diya Kumari and BJP’s Kumbhalgarh legislator Surendra Singh Rathore too unveiled Rana ji’s statue as a Bhil warrior. I shall like to set the records straight that Rana Punja ji was a Rajput who led Bhil and Garasiya warriors. Bhils and Garasiyas were Rana ji’s blood brothers and most loyal companions. Elected representatives have a moral responsibility to preserve our glorious history and not distort it.

My son, a direct descendant of Rana Punja ji, in March 2022, wrote to the PM and sought his intervention as the efforts are being continuously made by local and national level politicians to distort historical facts and term Rana Punja as Bhil for political gains.

Heir of Panarwa’s Solanki dynasty Parikshit Singh Solanki (centre)

To know the real Rana Punja, one must study valid records and journals from state archives. The last Solanki ruler of Patan was Maharaja Tribhuvanpal. One of his sons Ranakdevji migrated to the present Sirohi district in the 13th century. His descendant Bhoj Solanki was progenitor of Bhojawat branch of Solanki Rajputs. Bhoj’s great grandson Akheyraj Solanki conquered Bhomat from a Yadu Rajput, Jeevraj and established his capital at Panarwa in 1478. The Solanki Rajputs of Desuri (Pali), Jhilwara and Roopnagar (Udaipur) are brothers to Solankis of Panarwa-Oghna.

Bhomat is a mountainous and forested area in southern Rajasthan, covering all or parts of the tehsils of Kotra, Jhadol and Kherwara in Udaipur district. During British rule, the region was also referred to as ‘Hilly Tracts of Mewar’ and was factually in majority of a tribal (Adivasi, Garasiya, Bhil, etc.) population dominated region. My ancestors considered Bhil tribesmen as their comrades, whose aid was indispensable in ruling Bhomat.

The Bhils have great respect and adulation for Rana Punja ji and I suspect the politicians are trying to play upon this sentiment. But this is a falsification of history. We are aghast by such attempts. Verified government handles on social media are also making similar false claims. We strongly urge the top leadership in New Delhi to stop such malicious propaganda.

Recently, we have discovered an inscription of Rana Punja ji from the 1560s. In addition, the similarity between Solanki temple at Bassi and the one built at Panarwa (both of Chalukya architecture) has been established. With the help of an intellectual organization, the Kshatriya Parishad, we are reaching out to all platforms to set the records straight.

IAF To Soon Buy Hitech Missiles To Destroy Enemy Radars

In a major push to induct indigenously developed weapon systems, the Indian Air Force has moved a proposal worth over Rs 1,400 crore to the government for acquiring Rudram next-generation anti-radiation missiles (NGARM) to search and destroy enemy radar locations, informed defence officials.

“A proposal for acquisition of advanced missiles developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation is with the Defence Ministry and a high-level meeting would soon be taking a call on it,” defence officials told ANI.

The next-generation anti-radiation missiles have already been tested by the Indian Air Force from its Sukhoi-30 fighter aircraft fleet and can destroy enemy radar locations during conflicts, they said.

The destruction of radar systems can help the Indian Air Force to strike targets without detection, the officials said.

The NGARM can be fired from IAF fighters like the Sukhoi-30 and the Mirage-2000. It is accurate and has been developed with the capability to even track a radar system even if it is not operating.

NGARM is India’s first indigenously developed anti-radiation missile that has a speed of Mach two or twice the speed of sound.

The tactical, air-to-surface anti-radiation missile is equipped with a passive homing head that tracks sources of radiation of a wide range of frequencies. It can lock into a target not only before launch but also after it has been launched.

The NGARM induction would be a big boost for the Indian Air Force as it would help the force prepare for future wars with indigenous weapon systems.

Recently, Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari stated that based on lessons learnt from the Ukraine-Russia war, the Indian Air Force would be focusing on inducting ‘made in Indian weapons’. (ANI)
