Question AAP Leader Rajendra Pal

Delhi police To Question AAP Leader Rajendra Pal Gautam Today

The Delhi Police on Tuesday reached the residence of the former minister in the national capital Rajendra Pal Gautam, days after a video went viral where he was allegedly seen converting a large gathering of people to Buddhism.

The Aam Aadmi Party leader has been asked to appear before the police at 2 pm today.
According to the officials, a police team went to Gautam’s house on Monday, where he was questioned in the matter.

A senior police officer on Monday said that Gautam has been asked to appear so that he can be questioned to ascertain the sequence of incidents and verify facts related to the gathering and their conversion to Buddhism.

However, on Friday, Gautam termed this as false propaganda. He also told reporters that the vows taken at the event to “not worship Hindu gods and goddesses were originally taken by BR Ambedkar in 1956.

The same evening (Friday) Gautam accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of spreading false narratives against him and alleged that only a portion of his speech was being circulated in social media by the BJP.

Notably, Gautam resigned as AAP minister on Sunday following a meeting with Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and other senior party leaders.

Taking to Twitter, Gautam announced his resignation, typed on his letterhead, on Sunday and said, “Today I have been freed from many shackles, and been born again. Now I will continue to fight for rights and atrocities on the society more firmly without any restrictions.”

However, the letter was not addressed to anyone in particular.

The AAP leader in his letter wrote that the BJP has been targeting several sections of society for political gains, and he cannot be a mute spectator to that. However, he does not want his actions to cause any inconvenience to the party leader and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

In the purported viral video, Gautam was seen along with hundreds of people taking an oath. Purportedly, the person on the microphone leads the oath with,” ‘We will not believe in Brahma, Vishnu, Mahesh, Gauri-Ganesh as Gods and will never pray to them. I will not consider Ram and Krishna as Gods and will never… I will not pray to Gauri Ganpati etc or any other Hindu religious Gods and goddesses”.

This video of organizing the ‘Ghar Wapsi in Buddhism’ program in Delhi on October 5 under the banner of ‘Mission Jai Bhim’ was shared on Rajendra Pal Gautam’s Facebook page.

The AAP minister also claimed that the same oath was taken by Babasaheb Ambedkar, when he converted to Buddhism and said, “We have repeated the same pledge. On October 14, 1956, when Baba Saheb adopted Buddhism, he made 22 vows, which we have also taken in the oath. Watch the full video, BJP is running it by truncating it for its own benefit. BJP will do anything but make its vote clear.” (ANI)

Find Out The New Names EC Allotted To Shiv Sena Factions

The Election Commission (EC) on Monday allotted the name ‘Balasahebanchi ShivSena’ to the Shinde faction and ”Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray)’ to the faction led by Uddhav Thackeray ahead of next month’s by-poll in Andheri East constituency.

The poll panel has declined to allot ‘Trishul’, ‘Rising Sun, and ‘Gada’ as symbols as they are “not in the list of free symbols”.

It asked the Shinde faction of Shiv Sena to furnish a list of three fresh symbols by October 11 and declared the ‘flaming torch’ as the symbol of candidates of the Thackeray faction in the current by-election and till the final order is passed in the current dispute.

The poll panel had earlier barred the group led by former Maharastra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and State Chief Minster Eknath Shinde from using the symbol “Bow and Arrow, reserved for “Shiv Sena, in the upcoming Andheri East bye-election on November 3.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra Minister Deepak Kesarkar referred to the Uddhav Thackeray-led faction’s ties with Congress and said “Congress does not have the right to use Balasaheb’s name”.

Kesarkar accused the rival faction of “misleading people”.

“He (Uddhav Thackeray) is saying that because of 40 MLAs symbol has been seized. But the truth is he was CM because of these 40 MLAs. We left because Sena was leaving Hindutva. MLAs warned you but you didn’t listen to them. You could have stopped what happened. Speak the truth in front of people,” he said.

He said the state government was working for the welfare of the people.

“We are working for people. We have reduced 50 percent electricity bill for farmers. Can you deny that because of BJP support you ruled in BMC? We don’t speak against Uddhav. He speaks against MLAs,” Kesarkar said.

He claimed that Uddhav Thackeray wanted to go with BJP but was not sure if he will remain Chief Minister and decided to remain with NCP and Congress. (ANI)

Indian Startups Satellites: Jitendra

Indian Startups Will Soon Launch Satellites: Jitendra Singh

Union Minister for Science and Technology Jitendra Singh on Monday said the Indian startups would soon launch space satellites as well as satellite constellations and try their rockets.

Speaking at the India Space Conclave here on the occasion of the first anniversary of the Indian Space Association, ISpA, Jitendra Singh said the “revolutionary and out of box decision” of PM Modi to unlock the space sector for private industry in June 2020 changed the very nature of space ecosystem of the country.
The Minister also informed that five PSLVs are being domestically produced by L&T and HAL, while OneWeb is all set to launch their satellites through ISRO and NSIL.

Singh said space reforms have unleashed the innovative potentials of startups within a short span of time, “from a couple of space start-ups three-four years back, today we have 102 startups working in cutting-edge areas of space debris management, nano-satellite, launch vehicle, ground systems, research etc”.

With the integration of R&D, academia and industry with equal stake, it is safe to say that a Space Revolution led by ISRO along with the private sector and startups is on the horizon, the minister said.

Singh said, the strength and innovative potential of the country’s young and private industrial enterprise will take a lead in the global space technology disruption in times to come. He expressed hope that India’s young technology wizards shall breach new barriers in the field of space technology while they set out to address the limitless opportunities offered by the space domain.

The minister lauded the role of ISA for marvellously working in developing and forming global linkages for the growth of the Indian space industry in a short span of one year. He said members of ISA are continuously striving in undertaking policy advocacy and engaging in the reciprocation of knowledge and vision to make India a flag bearer in the sphere of space tech domain.

ISpA is acting as a major contributor toward supplementing the Indian Government’s endeavours to make India acquire a leading position in the arena of commercialised space-based excursions. He said for this ISpA’s role as a commune to deliberate interactions between the key stakeholders becomes a vital and critical one.

The minister hoped that ISpA keeping the motto of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ high will usher in important technological advancements and investments in the country which will eventually create high-skill job opportunities while following the government’s approach to space reforms.

Dwelling on the strategic relevance of Space in view of recent global conflicts, Jitendra Singh said space, a dual-use technology domain, is emerging as an important multi-faceted enabler that provides unprecedented reach.

He added that many nations are today focusing on developing their military space capabilities to ensure its safe, secure, and friendly use along with deterrence capability to deny it to adversaries, when necessary.

Singh elaborated that India too has resolved to leverage the strengths of this emerging dimension of warfare, and in fact, the Indian government is undertaking strong and decisive steps towards ensuring Atmanirbharta in the space sector to ensure “our private industrial capability and capacity are effectively energised and channelized to develop cutting-edge solutions which would give India a decisive edge over our others in times to come”.

According to a release, the minister highlighted the constructive role played by ISpA in engaging with the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India, the Ministry of Defence and the three services to address their requirements and said that ISpA will play a much deeper role in supporting the capability and capacity-building initiatives of the government in times to come. Section 144 in Ekbalpur

WB: Section 144 Imposed In Ekbalpur For Two Days

The West Bengal Police on Monday imposed section 144 in the Ekbalpur area of the state for two days.

The two-day curfew (from October 10 to October 12), has been imposed amid the ongoing law and order situation in the region due to the violence that erupted in Mominpur and the ransacking of Ekbalpur police station on Sunday evening.

Earlier in the day, West Bengal BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari wrote to Home Minister Amit Shah and Governor La Ganesan demanding an urgent deployment of central forces in the region.

“The Hindu community has come under attack in Khidirpore Mominpur area of Kolkata on the eve of Lakshmi Puja,” Adhikari, also the leader of the opposition, said in the letter.

He said many shops and bikes belonging to Hindus were vandalized by hooligans and anti-social elements in the violence. “The onslaught has similarities to the Panchla violence which happened in June in the Uluberia area of Howrah district. At that time, the violence spread across West Bengal, especially in Nadia and Murshidabad districts,” Adhikari wrote.

He further hit out at the Mamata Banerjee-led government in Bengal, Adhikari said the government had “meekly surrendered” before those indulging in violence. He also claimed that some miscreants had taken over the Ekbalpur police station.

The tensions flared up in Mominpur on Sunday after religious flags put up in the area for the Milad-un-Nabi festival were allegedly torn up, which soon turned violent with the vandalization of several vehicles and shops.

Reports said a group of people later in the night surrounded the Ekbalpore police station in protest against the violence and demanding the arrest of the accused. Some police personnel has been reportedly injured. Security has been tightened in the area since then. (ANI)

8,820 Fruit-Laden Trucks Allowed Passage On Srinagar-Jammu Highway

Over 10,000 heavy motor vehicles including 8820 fruit-laden trucks have been released through Navyug and Jawahar Tunnels during the past 24 hours.

“Over 10000 HMVs including 8820 fruit-laden trucks released through Navyug and Jawahar Tunnels during the past 24 hours. Chief Secretary compliments all functionaries and asks them to keep up the momentum”, Jammu and Kashmir Information Department said in a tweet.
For the first time after three decades, a Union Minister went to Baramulla in Jammu and Kashmir to hold a rally.

On October 5, Union Home Minister Amit Shah held a rally in Baramulla. Sources said Shah’s rally got a phenomenal response from the people of the district.

As per the sources present in the rally, the highest cheering was witnessed when the Home Minister spoke about the availability of free gas cylinders for women. It is also reported that in the hilly areas of the Union Territory, women registered to get the Ujjwala scheme benefit and got two cylinders instead of one.

“The development of Jammu and Kashmir is the prime agenda of the PM Modi government at the Centre. BJP does not wish to ally with any of the regional players in J-K,” a top BJP source told ANI.

Another source told ANI that, “the briefing given to the security agencies in the region is to ensure complete wipe out of terrorism and its supporters.”

The changing face of Jammu and Kashmir was evident because crowds turned up in huge numbers and it was a responsive gathering.

The Home Minister launched and laid the foundation stones of projects worth Rs 2000 crore in Kashmir and Rs 1900 crore in the Jammu region.

Shah sent a clear message that J-K is a priority for the Centre and leaders of three political parties, who ruled J-K for 70 years, can no longer dictate terms to New Delhi, nor can they hoodwink the gullible people of J-K as the times have changed.

He termed the turning of Kashmir from a “terrorist spot” into a “tourist spot” as one of the major achievements of the PM Modi-led regime and assured the people that J&K will keep on flourishing under PM Modi’s leadership.

The Union Home Minister had come to Jammu and Kashmir to tell the people that the government is aware of their needs and stands by them in all their endeavors.

His assertion that laptops have replaced stones and strike culture has ended in Kashmir was a snub to all such leaders, who used to claim that Kashmir would burn once Article 370–a temporary provision in the Constitution–is scrapped.

Shah reaching out to all the communities was an indication that the Government of India believes in equality for all and that no one will be left out. (ANI)

Modi Lays Foundation Stone Of Airport in Gujarat’s Bharuch

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday highlighted the development of Gujarat’s Bharuch as he laid the foundation stone of a new airport in the region and said there would be a new momentum to growth due to the “double engine” government in the state.

“After doing so much business, and business from the country and abroad, now when the airport is being founded, the development is about to get a new momentum and a new flight. And when there is a double-engine government of Narendra-Bhupendra, then the airport work will also be completed faster,” said PM Modi.
He expressed happiness over the construction of the airport and said, “I am happy to announce that now along with industrial development, Bharuch will also be home to an international airport. This airport will play an important role in increasing exports from Gujarat.”

He stressed that Bharuch won’t need to depend on airports in other areas as it will have one of its own. “Bharuch won’t need to depend on Baroda or Surat airport. Now Bharuch will have its own airport. So, today, the foundation stone is being laid to build a new airport at Ankleshwar,” he said.

PM Modi also noted that his home state has now gotten its first drug park. “Today Gujarat has got the first bulk drug park, and that too in my Bharuch. Several plants related to the chemical sector have also been inaugurated today,” he said.

Recalling the late SP Supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav in his speech, PM Modi highlighted his relationship with Yadav.

“Mulayam Singh Yadav ji’s demise is a huge loss for the nation. I had a special relationship with him. When BJP declared me as PM candidate in 2014, I spoke to all opposition leaders. He gave me his blessings in the way of his advice which has stayed with me even today,” he added.

PM Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of projects worth over Rs 8,000 crore in Amod town of Bharuch district.

In another step towards making India “Aatmanirbhar” (self-reliant) in the pharmaceutical sector, PM Modi laid the foundation stone of a bulk drug park at Jambusar. In 2021-22, bulk drugs accounted for over 60 percent of total pharmaceutical imports. (ANI)

Mallikarjun Kharge To Campaign in Gujarat

BJP Scared Of Rahul’s Popularity Due To Bharat Jodo Yatra: Kharge

Congress Presidential candidate and MP Mallikarjun Kharge on Saturday claimed that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is “scared” of Rahul Gandhi’s “rising popularity” due to Bharat Jodo Yatra.

“Many people are associating themselves with Rahul Gandhi. BJP is scared after seeing Bharat Jodo Yatra. As Rahul Gandhi’s popularity is increasing, these people’s (popularity) is reducing,” Kharge said.
Earlier today, Kharge had said that he is fighting the Congress Presidential polls because the condition in the country is very “bad” and he wants to “fight” them.

“I want to fight because the condition in the country is bad. Modi and Shah are doing politics where there is no place for Democracy. Agencies like CBI and ED are weakening. To fight them I need to have power. That is why, on the recommendation of delegations, I am fighting the polls,” Kharge said.

Shashi Tharoor and Mallikarjun Kharge are up against each other in the race for the post of Congress President.

Digvijaya Singh pulled out from the race earlier and extended his support to Kharge, who he said is a senior and respected leader of the party, and against whom he “cannot think of contesting”.

Singh was the second Congress leader to pull out of the race after Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot announced he would not contest the elections following the political turmoil in his state.

With the Gandhis not running for the top post, the grand old party is all set to get a non-Gandhi president after over 25 years.

The last date for withdrawal of nominations is October 8. Voting will take place on October 17 and the election results will be declared on October 19.

The MP from Wayanad is currently leading Bharat Jodo Yatra- the 3,500-km march from Kanyakumari to Kashmir, covering as many as 12 states. The Yatra started from Kanyakumari and will end in Kashmir the next year by covering 25 km every day.

According to Congress, the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ is being held to combat the divisive politics of the BJP-led Centre and to awaken the people of the country to the dangers of economic inequalities, social polarisation, and political centralization.

Notably, all the party MPs, leaders, and workers along with Rahul Gandhi are staying in containers. Sleeping beds, toilets, and ACs are also installed in some of the containers.

The arrangements have been made keeping in view the intense heat and humidity with the change of places.

The Congress suffered a debacle in the assembly polls held earlier this year and the Yatra is seen as an attempt to rally the party rank and file for the upcoming electoral battles. (ANI)

BJP To Go To Any Extent To Win 2024 LS: Stalin

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, who was elected as the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) president for the second time unopposed on Sunday, said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will go to any extent to win the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

“The party should win all the 39 Parliamentary constituencies in the state and the lone seat in neighboring Puducherry as well,” he said.
In his address at the DMK’s 15th general council meeting, Stalin told the party leaders and workers to be ready to defeat BJP and All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) in the Parliamentary election.

“We have to be ready to face BJP and AIADMK lies and start working on booth committees from now for the Parliamentary election. Finish this work within the next two months,” Stalin said after he was elected as DMK President.

The Chief Minister said that he is confident that the DMK is permanently going to be the ruling party in Tamil Nadu.

“We can’t be careless as we won in the State Assembly Election and formed the government. We have to be careful to maintain this victory. Permanently we have to keep this victory. I don’t have any doubts that hereafter DMK is permanently going to be the ruling government in Tamil Nadu,” he said.

The Tamil Nadu CM said that this Parliamentary election victory would be the base for a 100 percent win in the next State assembly election.

“Spread awareness about our ideology among youngsters. Create awareness about our government’s achievements among people. These are very important as General Election is nearing. We have to win all 40 constituencies and should play an important role in national politics. No one should be careless about this in any way. This Parliament election victory would be the base for a 100 per cent win in the next State assembly election,” said the DMK chief.

Accusing the BJP of trying to do politics by instigating the religious and spiritual sentiments of the people, he said since the people of Tamil Nadu never mixed politics and spiritualism, the BJP is now breathless in the state.

“Don’t forget that the BJP will go to any extent to win the Parliamentary election. BJP doesn’t have anything to list out their achievements. So they are defaming our party. The BJP is trying to play politics with religion and spiritualism. But in Tamil Nadu BJP is struggling to breathe as Tamil People never mix politics and spiritualism,” he said.

The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister said that the BJP using AIADMK and creating inter-party issues for them.

“After Jayalalithaa’s demise without a strong leader AIADMK is so weak and they are now split into four teams. AIADMK doesn’t have any ideology other than being against DMK. That’s why today they seem very weak,” the DMK chief said.

He asked the DMK leaders and workers to be ready to face BJP and AIADMK lies.

“We have to be ready to face BJP and AIADMK lies. Start working on booth committees from now for the Parliament election. Finish this work within the next two months,” he added.

Stalin was elected as DMK President for the second time unopposed.

Similarly, Duraimurugan as DMK General Secretary and TR Balu as DMK Treasurer were also elected again unopposed.

Tharoor: I Am A Catalyst Of Change In Cong

Emphasizing the need to win the trust of the voters again, Congress presidential candidate Shashi Tharoor on Sunday said to revive the party’s presence in the country, he could act as a catalyst of change for the grand old party.

He further offered a piece of advice to BJP saying the ruling party should start preparing to be a part of the opposition ahead of the 2024 General Elections.
Speaking to media persons in Mumbai, the Congress MP said, “Our party needs change and I feel I am the one who will be the catalyst of change.”

“Congress has run the country nicely, we have experienced people (in party)… we need to show our strength to re-win voters. Party needs to be attractive for it, needs to be confident so voters may give us their trust,” said Tharoor.

Suggesting BJP to start preparation for being a part of the Opposition, Congress presidential candidate said, “BJP should start preparing of being a part of the opposition as they will have to sit there after the 2024 elections.”

He further said he wants to make Congress strong for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

“My aim is to make the Congress party strong for 2024 as our citizens are unhappy with the Modi government. People want the Opposition to be strong, as inflation is high as well as unemployment and hate speech too. In 2014 and 2019 we got only 19 percent of the votes, I want people to come to us who didn’t vote for us. I want people to look into us,” he said.

He further said that he and Mallikarjun Kharge are friends and the only difference between the two of them is the way of their work.

Clarifying the rumors that Kharge is an official candidate for party chief and he is not, to this Tharoor said, “Some people are saying Kharge is an official candidate and I am no one. But I want to say that the Gandhi family is unbiased and no one is an official candidate as we are standing for strengthening of the Congress party. If someone is saying that delegates are asked to vote are a certain person but it’s not true.”
