Congress Gets Zero Marks For Governance in Rajasthan: Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday attacked the ruling Congress in Rajasthan and said people have made up their minds to oust it in the assembly polls later this year.

Addressing ‘Parivartan Sankalp Mahasabha’ here, PM Modi referred to the  Parliament passing the Women’s Reservation Bill and said it was done because of the support of people to the BJP exercised through voting.

“The people of Rajasthan have sounded the bugle against the bad governance of Congress. Congress deserves to get zero marks for the way they ran the government here. The people of Rajasthan have decided to remove the Gehlot government and bring back BJP,” he said.

“For many years, women had been waiting for 33% reservation in Lok Sabha and state assemblies. I have not done this but the power of your vote achieved it,” he added.

The Prime Minister greeted people gathered near the venue of the ‘Parivartan Sankalp’ rally in Jaipur in Rajasthan.

The Prime Minister reached Jaipur after addressing a rally in Bhopal. Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh are among five states which will go to the polls later this year.

Before addressing the gathering in Jaipur, PM Modi paid floral tributes to BJP ideologue  Deendayal Upadhyay on his birth anniversary.

Cong Busy Glorifying One Family: Modi In MP

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday made a scathing attack on Congress in poll-bound Madhya Pradesh, saying the party “has been busy glorifying only one family,” nourishing “corrupt system” and if gets a chance to come into power, it will be a huge loss for the state.

Addressing Karyakarta Mahakumbh in Bhopal, the Prime Minister slammed Congress on a range of issues and said the opposition party “neither has the ability to see nor understand the national interest”.

He said Congress does not want to change and does not want the country to change.

“Congress cannot digest the development work in India…They don’t want the country to develop. They are never proud of the country’s achievements because neither they want to change and neither want the country to change or develop. Congress will make Madhya Pradesh a ‘Bimaru Rajya’ if it gets a chance (to come into power here). They opposed digital payment but the world is impressed by UPI mode,” he said.

“Congress has been busy glorifying only one family. Congress has been busy nourishing the corrupt system in India. Congress is like rusty iron, which gets corroded if kept in the rain. Now Congress neither has the ability to see nor understand the national interest,” he added.

The Prime Minister said that coming years are crucial for Madhya Pradesh.

“If during this crucial time, Congress, a dynasty party, a party full of corruption, gets a chance (to come into power), this will be a huge loss for the state,” he said.

The Prime Minister said BJP government in Madhya Pradesh has completed almost 20 years and youth are lucky they have “not witnessed the bad governance of the Congress government”.

“This means the youth, who will be voting for the first time in the upcoming elections, have only seen the BJP government. The present youth of Madhya Pradesh are lucky that they have not witnessed the bad governance of the Congress government… Congress turned the state into ‘Bimaru Rajya’… BJP has tried to take the state to a new level with new energy… Youth here have seen the development work and good governance of the BJP government,” the Prime Minister said.

He said that the ‘Karyakarta Mahakumbh’ shows the energy of BJP workers.

‘Karyakarta Mahakumbh’ says a lot of things. This shows what is there in the minds of people here. This shows the energy of the workers of the BJP… Madhya Pradesh is the heart of the country. People of the state have always supported BJP,” he said.

PM Modi said Congress had given slogan of ‘Garibi Hatao’ fifty years ago but failed to deliver.

“The life of the poor does not matter to their (Congress) leaders, born with silver spoons in their mouth… For them, the life of the poor is adventure tourism… For Congress leaders, poor persons’ colonies have become location for video shootings. They have done this in the past too. BJP government is showing the developed and grand face of the country to the world,” he said.

He alleged that Congress and other opposition parties tried to prevent Droupadi Murmu from becoming the President.

“These (Congress) are the same people who tried their best to stop the country’s first tribal woman President Droupadi Murmu from becoming the President. These are the same people who have repeatedly tried to humiliate her. These people are the same people who had stopped the entry of daughters in the front lines of the country’s armed forces,” he said.

Madhya Pradesh is among five states which will face assembly polls later this year. (ANI)

Tomatoes through ONDC

Tomato Prices To Come Down With Arrival Of New Crop From M’rashtra

The prices of tomato is expected to come down with the increase in arrival of new crop from Nasik, Naryangoan and Aurangabad belt in Maharashtra and also from Madhya Pradesh, Centre told the Rajya Sabha on Friday.

Minster of State Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Ashwini Kumar Choubey made the statement in a written reply to the query of a Rajya Sabha member.
The Minister further said the Department of Consumer Affairs monitors the daily prices of 22 essential food commodities including tomato.

In order to check the current increase in prices of tomato and make it available to the consumers at affordable prices, the Minister said, the government has started the procurement of tomatoes under Price Stabilisation Fund and is making it available at a highly subsidised rate to consumers.

Choube said the National Cooperative Consumers Federation (NCCF) and National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation (NAFED) are continuously procuring tomato from mandis in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Maharashtra and making it available at affordable prices in major consuming centres in Delhi-NCR, Bihar and Rajasthan after subsidizing the price to the consumers.

“The tomatoes have been disposed initially at retail price of Rs 90 per kg which has been reduced to Rs 80 per kg from July 16 and further reduced to Rs 70 per kg from July 20,” said the Minister while responding to the query of Kartikeya Sharma, who asked about the measures taken by the government to monitor and regulate tomato prices to ensure affordability for consumers.

“Current increase in tomato prices may incentivize farmers to grow more tomato crop

which is expected to stabilize the prices in coming months.”

The Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare (DAFW) implements Market Intervention Scheme (MIS) to protect the growers of perishable agri-horticultural commodities from making distress sale in the event of a bumper crop during the peak arrival period when the prices tend to fall below economic levels and cost of production, said the Minister.

“Under the scheme, the loss on account of the fall in price is borne between the Central Government and State Government on 50:50 basis. Since the inception of MIS till date, the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare has not received any proposal from State Governments for market intervention to address distress sale of tomato,” Choube said.

Ministry of Food Processing Industries implements Operation Greens for enhancing value addition and reduction in post-harvest losses of agri-horticultural commodities, including tomato, said the Minister, adding “the objectives of the scheme are enhancing value realization of produce for farmers; protect the growers from making distress sale; increase in food processing/preservation capacities and value addition; and (iv) reduction in post-harvest losses.”

He said the scheme has both short-term interventions component and long-term interventions component.

“The short-term interventions include transportation and storage subsidy to individual farmers, group of farmers, farmer producer organisations, farmer producer companies, cooperative societies, State Marketing and Co-operative Federation, food processors, licensed commission agents, exporters and retailers. Under the long term interventions, grants-in-aid are being provided for Integrated Value Chain Development Projects and Stand-alone Post Harvest Infrastructure Projects,” added the Minister. (ANI)

All Cheetahs Will Die Due To Mismanagement Of BJP Govt: Kamal Nath

Madhya Pradesh former Chief Minister and State Congress chief Kamal Nath on Wednesday slammed the BJP-led government and alleged that all cheetahs will die due to mismanagement of the state government.

Speaking about the recent death of a cheetah in Madhya Pradesh’s Kuno National Park (KNP), Kamal Nath said that no one including women, cheetahs or adivasis were safe under the Shivraj Singh Chouhan-led government in the state.
“All cheetahs will die due to mismanagement of the BJP government. Be it women, be it cheetahs or be it adivasis, no one is safe in Madhya Pradesh,” said Kamal Nath.

Earlier today, Madhya Pradesh Forest Minister Vijay Shah said that the recent death of a Cheetah in Madhya Pradesh’s Kuno National Park was a result of a natural occurrence in animals.

“I have spoken to the authorities as well and this is a natural occurrence in animals. A team of experts, including foreign experts, is monitoring each Cheetah,” said MP Forest Minister Vijay Shah.

Another Cheetah named Tejas brought to Madhya Pradesh’s Kuno National Park died on Monday due to injuries.

According to an official statement, injury marks were seen on the upper part of the neck of male cheetah Tejas (Boma number 6) by the monitoring team on Monday at around 11 am. This was informed by the monitoring team to the wildlife doctors present at the Palpur headquarters.

“Wildlife doctors went to the spot and inspected Tejas Cheetah and prima facie found the wounds serious. After obtaining permission to treat Tejas, the team of doctors left for Maukar with preparations,” it said.

The male cheetah Tejas was found dead at the spot around 2 pm. The injuries sustained by Cheetah Tejas are being probed. The cause of death can be ascertained after the post-mortem, it added.

Earlier on June 26, a translocated African cheetah was injured in a fight with other cheetahs at the Kuno National Park (KNP).

Agni, the male cheetah, sustained injuries following a skirmish between two groups of cheetahs at Kuno National Park’s open forest area.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the eight cheetahs (5 females and 3 males) brought from Namibia at Kuno National Park on the occasion of his birthday on September 17, last year, as part of an effort to revive the extinct cheetahs in India. Another 12 cheetahs were brought from South Africa in February this year.

The cheetah was declared extinct from India in 1952.Under the ambitious Project Cheetah of the Indian government, the reintroduction of wild species particularly cheetahs was undertaken according to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) guidelines.

India has a long history of wildlife conservation. One of the most successful wildlife conservation ventures ‘Project Tiger’, which was initiated way back in 1972, has not only contributed to the conservation of tigers but also to the entire ecosystem. (ANI)

Prev Govts Were Insensitive, Disrespectful Towards Tribals, Poor: Modi

While not naming the Congress, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday accused previous governments at the Centre of disrespecting the tribal communities and the poor.

Speaking at a public meeting in Shahdol, Madhya Pradesh, PM Modi said, “Previous governments were insensitive and disrespectful towards the tribal communities and the poor. We saw how several parties reacted to a tribal woman becoming the President.”
“When the Central Tribal University was opened in the Shahdol division, they (the Congress) named it after their family. However, the Shivraj (Singh Chouhan) government made a welcome departure from this tradition when it named Chhindwada University after the revolutionary, Raja Shankar Shah. We also named the Patal Pani Station after Tantia Mama (revolutionary Tantia Tope),” he added.

Emphasising the importance of schools and colleges in tribal areas, PM Modi said, “I know the importance of schools and colleges in tribal areas. That’s why our government gave tribal children the opportunity to avail residential education in more than 400 new Eklavya schools. As many as 24,000 such students are studying in such schools in Madhya Pradesh alone.”

He also started the distribution of about 3.57 crore Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) cards in Madhya Pradesh.

“Our government is working not only to reduce the risk of diseases but also the expenditure incurred on them. We brought the Ayushman Bharat Yojana to reduce the medical expenditure of the poor. The Ayushman Card will guarantee our poor free medical checkups worth Rs 5 lakh,” PM Modi said.

He further claimed that 1 crore people in Madhya Pradesh have already received Ayushman Bharat cards.

PM Modi also paid floral tributes before a bust of Rani Durgavati at the launch of the National Sickel Cell Anaemia Elimination Mission in Shahdol.
