BJP MP Sambit Patra Rahul Gandhi

Shows Their Anti-Tribal Mindset: Patra On Udit Raj’s Remark On Murmu

Bharatiya Janata Party national spokesperson Sambit Patra on Thursday slammed Congress leader Udit Raj’s remarks on President Droupadi Murmu and said that it showed the party’s “anti-tribal mindset”.

Udit Raj had accused President Murmu on Wednesday of allegedly doing ‘chamchagiri’ with his controversial remarks about her.
“No country should get a President like Droupadi Murmu ji. Chamchagiri also has its limits. She says 70 per cent of the people eat Gujarat’s salt. She will get to know once she starts living by consuming salt only,” Udit Raj said in his tweet in Hindi.

BJP’s Sambit Patra said that the kind of words Udit Raj has used for the President are indecent, sad, and worrying.

He further said that it is not the first time that the Congress party has used such words for the President. Prior to this incident, we have heard the words Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury has used for her, when a tribal woman has become the President of the country, he said.

“It is surprising and saddening how Congress is regularly using disrespectful words for the President of India who has struggled enough to reach the topmost position of the country and it shows their mentality,” Patra said adding that it “exposes their anti-tribal mindset”.

He further sought an apology from the party as to why they have such psychology for the country’s first tribal president.

Udit Raj’s remarks came days after President Murmu noted in a civic reception hosted by the Government of Gujarat in her honour in Gandhinagar on Monday that the state produces 76 per cent of the country’s salt and on a lighter note said that “the salt produced in Gujarat is consumed by all Indians” (yah kaha jaa sakta hai ki sabhi deshwasi Gujarat kaa namak khate hain).

Meanwhile, BJP’s Shehzad Poonawalla also took a jibe at the party and asked if the Congress party endorsed such behaviour.

Launching a scathing attack, Poonawalla said this was the real ‘Chaal Charitra Chehara’ of the Congress which has time and again insulted India’s first woman Adivasi President.

Recounting how Congress leader Ajoy Kumar had labelled Murmu ji as one having an “evil mindset” and how Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary called her “Rashtrapatni”, Poonawalla said that if the Congress was against this language of calling the highest constitutional post holder a “chamcha”, would they sack Udit Raj? Would Rahul and Sonia Gandhi condemn this statement?”

Poonawalla further added, “it is unlikely that they would (condemn it) as such statements are applauded by the first family which ensured the defeat of Babasaheb Ambedkar twice and ensured that Bhagwan Birsa Munda never got his due.”

He also accused Congress of having “deep-seated hatred for Adivasis and Dalits” and said, “Droupadi Murmu ji rose up through sheer hard work and commitment despite her challenging socio-economic circumstances and became a people’s President but Congress cannot accept this.” (ANI)

Amit Shah Launches Projects Worth ₹2,000-Cr For J&K

Highlighting the development push by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led Centre in Jammu and Kashmir, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday said the region that was a terrorist hotspot earlier has now become a tourist hotspot due to the policies of the Modi government.

Shah, who has been on a 3-day visit to J-K, inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 240 development projects of about ₹2,000 crores in Srinagar on Wednesday.

Shah also inaugurated and laid the foundation stones of several development projects in Baramulla, Jammu, and Kashmir, and addressed a public meeting in the region.

Several dignitaries including Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Union Minister Jitendra Singh were also present on the occasion.

In his address, the Union Home Minister said that the hills of Pir Panjal and Chenab and this region of Kashmir Valley are among the most beautiful areas of the world. “The development ushered in Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Jammu and Kashmir is clearly reflected through the happy faces of the people in the region. He said that earlier, the three families who used to rule in the region hardly worked for the development of the region,” Shah said.

He said PM Modi has completed a huge task of ensuring that democracy reaches every village of Jammu and Kashmir. “Earlier, the meaning of democracy in Kashmir was restricted within the three families, 87 MLAs, and 6 MPs, but after August 5, 2019, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has connected 30,000 people with democracy by taking it to the level of Panch, Sarpanch, BDC, and Zilla Panchayat of the village.”

Earlier, due to corruption, he said the money of the poor was being misused, but now, PM Modi is ensuring that the money of the poor will reach the poor.

Shah said, “under the rule of three families, only Rs 15,000 crore investment came in Jammu and Kashmir in 70 years, but under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, an investment of Rs. 56,000 crores has come in just three years.”

“Earlier the region was a terrorist hotspot but now it has become a tourist hotspot. Earlier, a maximum of six lakh tourists used to visit the Kashmir Valley every year, whereas this year alone till now, 22 lakh tourists have visited the region, giving employment to thousands of youth, and this process will be further strengthened,” he said.

Shah said that earlier stones and guns were given in the hands of the youth of the Valley, but now Prime Minister Narendra Modi has replaced them with mobiles and laptops and provided employment to the youth by setting up industries in the region. The Union Home Minister said that terrorism has not led to any good in the world. “From 1990 till today, 42,000 people of Jammu and Kashmir have succumbed to terrorism. Now terrorism is slowly being weeded out,” he said.

Shah said that now electricity has reached every village in Kashmir and Prime Minister Modi has ensured complete treatment up to Rs 5 lakh free of cost. He said that 77 lakh people have been given health cards so that they do not have to spend a single penny for their treatment.

Union Home Minister said that he wants to reach out to the Gujjars, Bakarwals and Paharis of Baramulla, and the youth of Kashmir. He said that the people of Kashmir should think with an open mind that no good was ever done by the people who spread terror in the region, and Kashmir should now move forward with all the States of the country.

Shah said that we should not go down the path of terrorism but that of development.

The Minister said that the expressway from Nangal to Baramulla and from Baramulla to Uri has been built at a cost of Rs 850 crore. A 43-km road has been built connecting Baramulla to Gulmarg at a cost of Rs 85 crore to help tourists traveling from Gulmarg to Baramulla. He said that over one lakh families are being brought under the ambit of education through a scheme of Rs 847 crore. Two stadiums have been built in 402 panchayats of Jammu and Kashmir, along with one playground in each panchayat. Additionally, two indoor stadiums are also being built at a cost of Rs 10 crore.

Shah said that in the month of September this year, 13 lakh tourists visited Gulmarg. He said that the installation of power plants and irrigation projects worth thousands of crores of Rupees will bring prosperity to the valley of Kashmir. In order to improve the rail network, work on rail links from Udhampur to Baramulla has been initiated. Under the Pradhan Mantri Sadak Yojana, 119 new roads worth Rs 3,167 crore have been built.

He appealed to the people to join the mainstream of the country and empower the process of development and move forward. (ANI)

Amit Shah In J-K

Amit Shah In J-K: They Tell Us Talk To Pak, I Say…

Lambasting the National Conference chief Farooq Abdullah and Peoples Democratic Party president Mehbooba Mufti on their demands that the Centre should talk to Pakistan, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday said that he would prefer to talk to the youth of Jammu and Kashmir rather than talking to the neighboring country.

Addressing a public meeting here, on the last day of his three-day visit to the Union Territory which would conclude today, Shah launched an unsparing attack on former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Ministers Farooq Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti.
He accused the ‘Gupkar alliance’ of “laying a red carpet” for Pakistani terrorists into the country.

Shah said, “Some people talk about Pakistan here. I want to tell them today, bring the statistics about the number of villages in PoK that have electricity. Electricity has reached every village in our Kashmir. “Mufti and Company, and Abdullah and Sons ruled Kashmir for 70 years but did not provide 1 lakh houses, but Prime Minister Narendra Modi, from 2014 till 2022, has given houses to 1 lakh people in J-K.”

“Those who ruled for 70 years here suggest me to talk to Pakistan.” I have a clear view, I do not want to talk to Pakistan, I want to talk to the Gujjars, Paharis, and Bakarwals in Baramulla. I want to talk to the youth of Kashmir. Think with open eyes and minds, those who spread terrorism, what good have they done to Kashmir?” he said adding that J-K has to join the race with other states which are moving ahead in the country.

“We do not have to follow the path shown by terrorists. I urge you to extend your support to us,” said the Home Minister.

Shah said that the “Peoples’ Alliance for Gupkar Declaration model” (PAGD) had presented the youth of the region with stones, closed colleges and machine guns in their hands, whereas Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s model has brought them education.

PAGD is a political alliance between the six regional parties in J-K formed by Farooq Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti. The alliance seeks the restoration of Article 370 and statehood to Jammu and Kashmir.

“There are two models. One of PM Modi which gives employment, peace and brotherhood; and another is the Gupkar model which led to the Pulwama attack. PM Modi made a hospital in Pulwama at an expense of Rs 2,000 crore. The Gupkar model is laying the red carpet for the Pakistani terrorists into the country, whereas the Modi model is implementing an investment of Rs 56,000 crore on the ground giving employment to the youth. Gupkar model placed stones, closed colleges, and machine guns in the hands of the youth. Modi model has IIM, IIT, AIIMS, NIFT, and NEET for the youth. The youth wants education not stones in their hands,” he said.

Shah asked the former chief ministers about the amount that was brought into the region as an investment during their respective tenures.

“I have come today to ask Farooq Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti how much investment did you draw in Jammu and Kashmir during the 70-year rule of the three families. How many industries were set up? How many youths were given employment? An investment of merely Rs 15,000 crore was done here in 70 years. PM Modi has brought an investment of Rs 56,000 crore in these three years in the region,” he said.

Shah further accused the “three families” of J-K of being responsible for the killings of the residents of the region by terrorists.

“Has terrorism done any good to anybody in the world? Can the sympathisers of terrorism tell of any such incident? 42,000 people of J-K have been victims of terrorism from 1990 till today. Who is responsible for their deaths? The three families that ruled here were responsible. Terrorism is moving towards extinction,” he said.

Lauding PM Modi for bringing investment into J-K, Shah said that the region which was known to be a “terrorist hotspot” has now become a “tourism hotspot”.

“Earlier, this was a terrorist hotspot, now it’s a tourism hotspot. You (Farooq and Mehbooba) gave stones and guns in the hands of the youth, whereas PM Modi gave laptops and mobiles into their hands by bringing industries here,” Shah said. (ANI)

Zelenkskyy To Modi

Ukraine Will Not Conduct Negotiations With Putin: Zelenkskyy To Modi

Responding to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s calls for peace, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Wednesday said that Kyiv will not conduct negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

PM Modi earlier held a phone call with Zelenskyy and said that the endangerment of nuclear facilities amid the Russia-Ukraine war could lead to catastrophic consequences for the environment.
During the phone call, the Prime Minister expressed his firm conviction that there can be no military solution to the conflict and conveyed India’s readiness to contribute to any peace efforts. He again called for the cessation of hostilities and the need to pursue the path of diplomacy.

Reacting to the referendum in four Russian-occupied areas of Ukraine – Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson, Zelenskyy noted that all the aggressor’s decisions aimed at attempting illegal annexation of Ukrainian territories are null and void and do not change reality.

Zelenskyy emphasized that under such conditions, Ukraine will not conduct any negotiations with the current President of the Russian Federation, and noted that our state has always been committed to a peaceful settlement through dialogue, said Zelenskyy readout.

“However, Russia did not stand for dialogue and put forward ultimate instead deliberately undermining this process. During my speech at the session of the UN General Assembly, I outlined our clear formula for peace. We are ready to work together with our partners to achieve it,” added the President of Ukraine.

Meanwhile, Zelenskyy thanked PM Modi for India’s support of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and also emphasized the importance of the Indian leader’s recent statement that now is not the time for war.

During the conversation, the Ukrainian President emphasized the importance of strengthening the Ukrainian-Indian partnership against the backdrop of Russian aggression against Ukraine.

Zelenskyy also noted the significant humanitarian aid provided by the government and the private sector of the Republic of India to Ukraine, added the readout.

Both leaders separately discussed the issue of global food security. Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukraine is ready to continue acting as a guarantor of the world’s food security. In this regard, the support of the entire international community, in particular India, for further implementing the grain initiative is important.

The interlocutors paid due attention to the issue of nuclear safety.

“Nuclear blackmail by Russia, particularly regarding the Zaporizhzhia NPP, is a threat not only to Ukraine but also to the whole world,” Zelenskyy said.

International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has reiterated its deep concern about landmine explosions close to Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP). IAEA is also continuing its consultations and other efforts to agree on and implement a nuclear safety and security zone around the ZNPP as soon as possible.

The Prime Minister’s Office said Prime Minister Modi reiterated the importance of respecting the UN Charter, International Law, and the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all states.

“Prime Minister emphasized the importance India attaches to the safety and security of nuclear installations, including in Ukraine. He underlined that endangerment of nuclear facilities could have far-reaching and catastrophic consequences for public health and the environment,” the statement said.

Separately, Zelenskyy and Modi discussed cooperation within international organizations, primarily the UN.

During the conversation, the parties noted mutual interest in deepening regular full-scale Ukrainian-Indian contacts, as well as the implementation of tasks on the agenda of bilateral relations of comprehensive partnership.

Further, Zelenskyy invited PM Modi to visit Ukraine. (ANI)

Pakistan As International Terror: Jaishankar

India Sees IT as Info Tech, Pakistan As International Terror: Jaishankar

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar in a thinly veiled reference to Pakistan, said that just as India is an expert in information technology, “our neighbor is an expert in international terrorism” and warned that if terrorism is “being done against us, tomorrow it will be done against you.”

“We have a neighbor.. like we are experts in IT (information technology), they’re experts in “international terrorists.” It’s been going on for years. But we could explain to the world that terrorism is terrorism; today it’s being done against us, tomorrow it will be done against you, “Jaishankar said at an event in Gujarat’s Vadodara.

He pointed out that now the world’s understanding of terrorism has changed as compared to earlier times and it is not tolerating it anymore. “Countries using terrorism are under pressure and are further reluctant,” Jaishankar added.

Speaking on terrorist incidents in northeast India, Jaishankar said that in recent years, these activities have been reduced because India could achieve a land boundary agreement with Bangladesh in 2015. That agreement “stopped extremists from getting shelter in Bangladesh, which stopped their operations in northeast India,” the EAM noted.

Jaishankar on Saturday also said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi did not yield to the pressure amid the soaring oil prices and advised that India must do what is best for the nation and if pressure comes, then face it head on.

“Due to the Russia-Ukraine conflict, petrol prices doubled.” We had pressure from where to buy the oil, but PM Modi and the government were of the view that we’ve to do what is best for our nation and if pressure comes, then we should face it, “Jaishankar said in Gujarat’s Vadodara.”

During the Russia-Ukraine conflict, Jaishankar said PM Modi called both Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy for a ceasefire for some time so that we could safely evacuate our students.

It is pertinent to note that India has constantly called on Russia and Ukraine to end the war and choose dialogue and diplomacy.

Earlier in the day, Jaishankar visited Laxmi Vilas Palace in Gujarat and said that he is “privileged” to see the Raja Ravi Verma painting collection with the 52 foreign ambassadors and high commissioners.

“Pleasure to join 52 Ambassadors and High Commissioners on a visit to Laxmi Vilas Palace. Was a particular privilege to see the Raja Ravi Verma painting collection with them,” Jaishankar tweeted on Saturday.

After meeting delegates and ambassadors of several countries, Jashankar said, “It is a matter of pride that we have come here with officials of different countries.” As the Navratri festival is on, they will spend the day enjoying festivities. They are excited to see the development here.

Jaishankar also took to Twitter and said he looks forward to participating in the celebrations tonight.

The External Affairs Minister is in Gujarat for the Navratri celebrations. Today marks the sixth day of Navratri, and devotees across the country will worship Goddess Katyayani, the sixth incarnation of Maa Durga.

Also known as Mahishasurmardini, Maa Katyayani killed the demon Mahishasura. She is regarded as one of the most violent forms of Maa Durga. She is four-armed and rides a lion. (ANI)

Jio 5G In Madhya Pradesh Ujjain

Telecom Giants Rally Behind Narendra Modi’s 5G Vision

Bosses of telecom giants—Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel, and Vodafone Idea—on Saturday showed solid unity behind Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of revolutionizing the telecom sector through the fifth generation (5G) technology.

Mukesh Ambani, Chairman and Managing Director of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), Sunil Bharti Mittal, Chairman of Bharti Airtel, and Kumar Mangalam Birla, Chairman of Aditya Birla Group, joined Prime Minister Modi at the launch of 5G services.

Addressing the event, Ambani said 5G was much more than the next generation of connectivity and to his mind, “it is the foundational technology that unlocks the full potential of other 21st century technologies like artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of Things, robotics, blockchain, and the metaverse.”

“Congratulations to the country for launching a new era, and I am really grateful to the Prime Minister for inspiring all of us and giving us this digital vision,” the RIL chairman said.

Ambani thanked the prime minister for inspiring the vision of a developed nation by 2047. “Every action and policy of the government is skilfully crafted to propel India, towards that goal. Steps taken to fast-track India’s march into the 5G era provide compelling proof of our Prime Minister’s determination,” he said.

The RIL chairman narrated the possibilities of 5G in key areas like education, education, and climate. “Your leadership has raised India’s prestige, profile, and power globally like never before.” In today’s fast-changing world, there will be no stopping a resurgent India from soaring to the top, “Ambani said in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the launch of 5G at the Pragati Maidan in the national capital.

He also said it would not be an exaggeration to say that “5G is like a digital Kamadhenu, the heavenly cow that grants whatever we desire.”

Akash Ambani, Chairman of Jio Infocomm, the digital division of Reliance Industries Limited, said Reliance Jio targets to launch 5G services across the country by the end of this year.

“Jio plans to cover entire India by December… We will make it very affordable. It should be affordable for every Indian right from device to service,” Akash Ambani, eldest son of RIL chief Mukesh Ambani,” told ANI.

Bharti Airtel chief Sunil Bharti Mittal remarked that the launch of 5G is the beginning of a new era and since it is happening during Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, it makes it even more special.

“With the efforts of the Prime Minister, this will usher new energy in the country. We are fortunate to have a leader in the Prime Minister who understands technology very minutely and deployed that to the development of the country in an unmatched manner,” Mittal said.

Mittal further said that it will open up a sea of opportunities for people, especially in our rural areas. He recalled the Prime Minister’s initiatives in the field of infrastructure and technology from his Gujarat CM days.

He said that during the pandemic, traffic shifted to villages and homes and the country’s heartbeat did not stop even for a second. Credit for that goes to the digital vision. He also praised the audacity and achievement of the vision of Make in India.

“Along with Digital India, the Prime Minister also took forward the Start-up India campaign and soon enough, India started producing unicorns”, Mittal said. “With the advent of 5G, I’m sure that the country will add many more unicorns in the world,” he added.

Kumar Mangalam Birla, Chairman of Aditya Birla Group, said, “Vodafone-Idea has made a lot of preparations.” The network is compatible with converting into 5G. As the prime minister said, this is not just a new technology but a revolution. “Vodafone-Idea will make all efforts to be a part of this revolution,” Birla told ANI on the sidelines of a function for 5G services.

Aditya Birla Group is a promoter company of Vodafone Idea along with the UK-based Vodafone Group.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched 5G services at a function organized at Pragati Maidan in the national capital. The Prime Minister also inaugurated the sixth edition of the India Mobile Congress and also witnessed the IMC Exhibition that was put up on the occasion.

Addressing the 5G launch event, Kumar Mangalam Birla called the advent of 5G a transformational event that proves India’s prowess on the global stage and reiterates the role of telecom technology as the bedrock of India’s growth.

He thanked Prime Minister Modi for his vision and leadership for a generational leap in technology that has resulted in India making a mark on the global stage.

He also thanked the Prime Minister for his inspirational role in supporting the telecom industry during the ongoing pandemic and for the path-breaking telecom reforms in the industry.

Birla said that the launch of 5G marks the beginning of an exciting journey for India. “We will see limitless potential for 5G development and use cases in the years to come,” he added.

5G technology will offer a wide range of benefits to the common people. It will help in providing seamless coverage, high data rate, low latency, and highly reliable communications.

It will also increase energy efficiency, spectrum efficiency, and network efficiency. 5G technology will help in connecting billions of Internet of Things devices, will allow higher quality video services with mobility at high speed, and delivery of critical services such as telesurgery and autonomous cars, among others. Data On ULIP

13 Organisations Sign Agreements To Access Data On ULIP

Unified Logistics Interface Platform (ULIP), launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as part of the ‘National Logistics Policy (NLP)’ on September 17 has received a strong response from the industry with 13 firms joining the platform in less than two weeks of the launch, the Ministry of Commerce & Industry said on Saturday.

Till date, 13 organisations – MapMyIndia, CargoExchange, Freight Fox, Conmove, Intugine, Eikonatech, Yes Bank, Superprocure, CargoShakti, CloudStrats, Shyplite, APSEZL, and AITWA have signed non-disclosure agreement to access data on ULIP.
Non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) with 11 more organisations like Instavans & Trucks, Bosch India, Portlinks, Shiprocket, etc. are in the process, the Ministry of Commerce & Industry said.

The startups are gearing up to showcase their innovative ideas for creating new solutions for the sector whereas large enterprises are mulling to integrate with ULIP for simplifying complex logistics processes, verifying the documents of vendors as well as to get visibility of cargo movement.

The ULIP platform will enable the industry players to get secure access to information related to logistics and resources available with various ministries. At present 30 systems from seven ministries are integrated through more than 100 APIs covering more than 1600 data fields for usage by the stakeholders.

ULIP has a dedicated portal that makes the process of data requests simpler, faster, and transparent. A dedicated support team is working round the clock to provide support to the industry players for registration on the portal. After the registration, users need to submit their use-cases, which will then be reviewed based on the proposed usage of the requested data. After the successful review, users requesting data will have to sign a ‘Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA)’.

With the signing of the NDAs, industry players can develop APIs for integration with ULIP. After the system security check and thorough testing of the integration, the users can fetch authentic data through ULIP from various government sources.

ULIP will give direct and indirect benefits to all logistics stakeholders like verification of drivers and vehicle details in a single click, tracking & tracing of consignment, route optimization planning, timely updates on the destination of the consignment, reduced paper work, empty carrier and container visibility, inventory management, etc.

By reducing regulatory, documentary, and other delays, ULIP will enable structured planning by helping in decision-making on optimum use of modes of logistics, thereby saving cost and time.

With the democratization of the information, ULIP aims to enable the industry players for creating a market for revenue generation as well as the abolition of monopolies and unleveled advantages. Achieving positive results at granular and individual levels will have a tremendous constructive impact on the overall logistics sector of India along with the Logistics Cost percentage of GDP and enhancement in the global logistics indices of India.
