Expelled Cong Leader Tears Into Party, Calls Rahul Mad

In a blistering attack on Rahul Gandhi for casting aspersions on ‘
Modi Ki Guarantee
‘ (PM Modi’s guarantees), expelled Congress leader Acharya Pramod Krishnam on Sunday said a person, who has lost his mental bearings, can say anything.

Speaking to ANI on Sunday, Acharya Krishnam also lamented the bulk exits and desertions from the grand old party, saying the Congress has been reduced to an ‘anti-Ram’ and ‘anti-Sanatan’ party, which is why it losing leaders and members to rivals.

On Rahul’s claim that there was ‘no guarantee’ that PM Modi would return to office for a third straight term, the expelled Congress leader said, “See, a person, who has lost his mind, can say anything. As we have seen with children, they often ramble on without making much sense. One need not take the words of a child or a senseless person seriously.”

“The only person responsible for the prevailing ruinous state of the Congress is Rahul Gandhi. As long as Rahul Gandhi is in the Congress, there is no saving the Congress,” he added.

Further hitting out at the Congress, Acharya Krishnam said, “No one wants to stay in party that speaks indecorously of Lord Ram. Many in the Congress have to come realise that they are doomed if they continue to remain in the Congress. This is as clear as daylight. The Congress, through its opposition of Lord Ram, has exposed its political bankruptcy and frustration. It is now an anti-Ram and an anti-Sanatan party. Who will stand with those who stand against Sanatan despite living in the country? Who will stay with them? That explains the current string of exits from the party.”

“Who would want to stay onboard a sinking ship? Congress is a sinking ship. Everyone would jump off a ship that is being steered by Rahul Gandhi. People will jump off and swim or sail to safety. Many more, including senior leaders, will desert the Congress even amidst elections. All his statements and decisions are only driving the Congress towards a bitter end. Those, who once were at his beck and call, are now taking potshots at him. From Karuna Karan’s daughter, Suresh Pachori to Ashok Chavan, many big leaders have left the Congress. Ghulam Nabi Azad, who was also a prominent Congress leader, took the exit door as well. The blood of the Congress still runs in his veins. Why did they all have to leave? It is because of some sycophants who are literally falling over each other to be in the good graces of Rahul-ji,” the expelled leader added, in a no-holds-barred attack on the Wayanad MP.

Coming out in wholesome praise of PM Modi, Acharya Krishnam said, “If Modi had not been the Prime Minister for the last 10 years, West Bengal would have become Bangladesh by now. We are fortunate that Narendra Modi is our Prime Minister. I believe that the people of Bengal are also saddened by the atrocities of the ruling TMC. I can say with full conviction that Narendra Modi will storm back to office by a huge majority. Modi-ji will win, the BJP will win.”

Also tearing into the INDIA bloc, Acharya Krishnam said, “All thieves came together and created a gang. However, they are only stabbing each other in the back.” (ANI)

More Unemployed Youths In India Than Bangladesh, Bhutan: Rahul

During the Madhya Pradesh leg of the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said on Sunday that the nation is grappling with a higher number of unemployed youths compared to Bangladesh and Bhutan.

The Congress MP said that the country has more unemployed youths than Bangladesh and Bhutan because Prime Minister Narendra Modi has finished small businesses.

“Today, there has been maximum unemployment in the country in the last 40 years. India has double the unemployment as compared to Pakistan. We have more unemployed youth than Bangladesh and Bhutan because Narendra Modi has finished small businesses by demonetization and implementing GST,” Rahul Gandhi said while addressing a gathering in Madhya Pradesh’s Gwalior.

The World Bank report points out that in 2022, the youth unemployment rate in India was at 23.22 per cent, which was higher than its neighbours Pakistan (11.3 per cent) and Bangladesh (12.9 per cent).

Further, the Congress leader said that in terms of social injustice, the number of backward people in the country is 50 per cent, Tribal at eight per cent, and Dalit at 15 per cent. All these together amount to 73 per cent.

“Not a single person among these 73 per cent will be found in big companies. Then Modi Ji says that I am working for the poor,” he said.

Rahul Gandhi further said how one can object to caste census without knowing about the population and wealth of Dalits, Tribals and backward classes.

“Why would anyone object to this? Narendra Modi ji says that there is no caste in the country. There are only two, poor and rich. If so then how did you become OBC?” he asked.

“Narendra Modi ji is afraid because he does not want this 73 per cent to know the truth of the country,” Rahul Gandhi added.

Earlier, highlighting the reason behind such high levels of unemployment in the country, Rahul Gandhi on Saturday blamed the Narendra Modi government’s economic policies like demonetization and the Goods and Services Tax, which he claimed, was a huge blow to the MSME sector, which employs the most youths in the country.

As the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra entered Madhya Pradesh on Saturday, Rajasthan Pradesh Congress President Govind Singh Dotasra handed over the national flag to his Madhya Pradesh counterpart, Jitendra Patwari. (ANI)

Rahul, Priyanka Take Out Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra In Moradabad

More than a month after the Bharat Jodo Yatra started, Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Saturday joined party MP and her brother Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in Uttar Pradesh’s Moradabad.

According to party functionaries, from Moradabad, Priyanka Gandhi will accompany Rahul Gandhi as the yatra traverses through Fatehpur Sikri via Amroha, Sambhal, Bulandshahr, Aligarh, Hathras, and Agra.

Priyanka was scheduled to join the yatra last week when it entered UP through Chandauli district but had to drop out because of ill health.

The Congress General Secretary had earlier expressed her disappointment in not being able to participate in the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra on February 16 due to her illness.

“I was really looking forward to receiving the BJNY in UP today but unfortunately, have ended up admitted to hospital. I will be there as soon as I am better! Meanwhile wishing all the yatris, my colleagues in UP who have worked hard towards making arrangements for the yatra and my sweet brother, all success as they reach Chandauli today,” Priyanka Gandhi posted on X.

Former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and Samajwadi Party chief, Akhilesh Yadav, is poised to join forces with Rahul Gandhi’s much-publicized Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra as it makes its way to Agra on February 25 after the seat deal with the Congress Party. Samajwadi Party workers including Party MP from Moradabad ST Hassan have supported the Congress yatra.

Samajwadi Party (SP) MP, ST Hasan, while speaking to ANI said, “…Yes, we too will walk with them (Congress) till the territory of Moradabad. He (Akhilesh Yadav) will join tomorrow or maybe in Agra the day after.”

The Congress President, Mallikarjun Kharge, personally invited Akhilesh to join hands with Rahul Gandhi in Agra.

In a crucial breakthrough for the opposition bloc INDIA (Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance), the Congress and the Samajwadi Party on Wednesday finally announced a seat-sharing pact for Lok Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh. In the alliance the Congress will contest 17 seats and the SP and its other allies will contest the remaining 63 seats. (ANI)

Union Minister Shreds Cong Over K’taka Temple Tax

Coming down heavily on Rahul Gandhi after the Congress-ruled Karnataka on Thursday passed the contentious Karnataka Hindu Religious Institutions and Charitable Endowments Bill 2024, Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar said the draft resolution marked a ‘new low’ in ‘appeasement politics’.

The Bill mandates the state to collect 10 per cent tax from temples generating revenue exceeding Rs 1 crore and 5 per cent from shrines with revenue of between Rs 10 lakh and Rs 1 crore.

Weighing in on the draft legislation on Thursday, Chandrasekhar told ANI that the Bill was brought to fill the ‘ATM’ of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and his deputy DK Shivakumar.

In a personalised video message on Thursday, the BJP leader said, “While Rahul Gandhi is holding a Bharat Jodo Yatra in the country, the Congress government in Karnataka has brought the Karnataka Hindu Religious Institutions and Charitable Endowments (Amendment) Bill, 2024 in the assembly to fund the ATM of Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar. This marks a new low of appeasement politics. We will oppose this Bill.”

Condemning the draft legislation, the BJP termed it ‘anti-Hindu’.

The party’s state chief and son of former chief minister and Lingayat stalwart BS Yediyurappa, BY Vijayendra, alleged that the Bill was part of a ploy by the Congress government to siphon off donations to temples in the name of taxes to fill its dwindling coffers.

“Corrupt, inept #LootSarkaar with its penchant for anti-Hindu ideology in the guise of secularism, has cast its evil eyes on the Temple revenues. Through the Hindu Religious Endowments amendment act, it is trying to siphon off donations as well as offerings from Hindu temples and religious institutions to fill its empty coffers,” Vijayendra posted from his X handle on Thursday.

“Accordingly, the government plans to gobble up 10 per cent of the Temple revenue exceeding Rs 1 crore & 5 per cent of Temple revenue below Rs 1 crore. This not only reflects the deplorable condition of this government but also shows its abject hate towards Hindu Dharma. Temple funds should be dedicatedly utilized for the renovation of temples and to facilitate the work beneficial to devotees, rather than diverting it for other purposes, which would be an injustice and betrayal of people’s religious beliefs,” he alleged.

“Why only Hindu temples are targeted for revenue, leaving out other religions, is a question raised by millions of devotees. Instead of grabbing the devotees’ money, government can install “Donation Boxes” so that the concerned citizens can help this penniless govt boost its revenue as a Gesture of Goodwill!” he posted further.

Hitting back at the BJP, Karnataka minister Ramalinga Reddy told media persons, “It was BS Yediyurappa and Sadananda Gowda (former chief misters) who brought amendments to the Hindu Religious Act in 2011. The amendments enabled the then government to collect money from temples. This is not ours but a Bill of the previous BJP government. (ANI)

Rahul Demands Immediate Compensation To Family Of Victim Killed In Wild Elephant Attack

After meeting the family members of the Forest Department watcher, who was trampled to death by wild in Wayanad, Rahul Gandhi said that he has asked state’s Chief Minister in a letter that why it was taking “so long” to build a medical college in Wayanad, and sought immediate release of compensation to the family of the victim.

Compensation to the deceased’s family members should be given quickly and without any delay, said Rahul Gandhi while addressing a press conference.

“We’ve been facing these tragedies that are coming out of man-animal conflict for some time. And in the last few days, there have been a larger number of them. We’ve told the administration that they need to pay the compensation quickly and effectively and not delay the compensation that has been happening over the last couple of months,” Rahul Gandhi said, adding “We also suggested to look into setting up and testing an early warning system. There’s a question of interstate cooperation between Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. We mentioned to them that we will also play a role in trying to improve the coordination. But it’s important that the three states coordinate with each other as far as this issue is concerned,” he said.

“The medical college is a critical issue. I don’t understand why it is taking so long to develop and build a medical college here. I’ve written to the chief minister and I would request him again to please expedite this matter. It is almost becoming a joke now,” he added.

The Wayanad MP abruptly halted his ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ in Uttar Pradesh and rushed to Wayanad after protests erupted over the killings of residents in wild elephant attacks.

On Saturday, a massive protest was witnessed in Pakkam near Pulpally in Wayanad district.

According to Kerala Forest Minister AK Saseendran, the victim was attacked when the elephant ventured into a residential area near Mananthavady.

However, the Kerala government announced Rs 10 lakh compensation and also assured a job to one of the family members of the deceased. (ANI)

Govt Wants Youth To Become Contractual Labourers: Rahul

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday addressed the youth and hit out at the BJP-led central government saying that this government wants them to become contractual labourers.

“They (Centre) don’t want to use India’s Defence Budget for the training and security of jawans…You will neither be recruited in the Army nor in Railways or in any Public Sector Unit. Why? The Government wants you to become contractual labourers,” said Rahul Gandhi.

“They have given the name ‘Agniveer’ but he is a contractual labourer. That is the truth. They can sack him, throw him out anytime they want, without asking him, without pension or any help…” addedGandhi.

Former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav joined Rahul Gandhi in his ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ on Friday in Bihar’s Sasaram. The Yatra reaches its final stage in Bihar and is scheduled to enter Uttar Pradesh later today.

Yadav was seen driving Rahul Gandhi and other leaders in the lead jeep as the yatra made its way through Sasaram with the RJD leader acknowledging his ally in his post on x.

This was the first time the RJD leader was seen sharing the stage with Gandhi in Bihar since state Chief Minister Nitish Kumar severed his ties with the INDIA bloc.

Meanwhile, Former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tejashwi Yadav launched a fresh attack on Chief Minister Nitish Kumar while addressing the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra and said that the CM does not want to listen to anyone.

“You all very well know how our CM is, he does not want to listen to anyone. He used to say ‘I will die, but won’t join BJP’…We decided to stay with Nitish ji, no matter how much we have to sacrifice, only to defeat BJP in 2024…’ Hum logo ne ek thake hue mukhyamantri ko Niyukt kiya hai’…” said RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav.

“He does not want to listen to anyone, but still, ours was a grand alliance government, and we wanted to be united with a big goal, We have to stop the powers that be, those who work to sow poison in the country, so this time at any cost, no matter how much we have to bear, no matter how much we have to sacrifice, we joined Nitish ji, so that BJP will be defeated in 2024. We will do the work of ousting BJP from power and we have appointed a tired Chief Minister, ” added Tejashwi Yadav.

Earlier on Thursday, Yatra reached Bihar’s Aurangabad, where Gandhi came out in praise of the Supreme Court over its verdict striking down electoral bonds, promising to conduct a financial survey across the country if voted to power in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.

The Nyay Yatra arrived in Bihar days after Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who was at the forefront of the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance, a coalition of opposition parties formed to take on the BJP at the Centre, dumped the Mahagathbandhan (grand alliance) and joined hands again with the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance.

Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will also join the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra led by Rahul Gandhi as it enters Uttar Pradesh on Friday evening. She will join her brother in Chandauli in Uttar Pradesh after the yatra enters the state from Bihar.

The East-West Manipur-Mumbai Yatra traverses 6,700 km through 15 states and aims to highlight the message of “nyay” (justice) while meeting common people on the way. (ANI)

Rahul Gandhi OBC Modi

Modi Belongs To General Caste: Rahul

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Thursday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi does not belong to the Other Backward Caste (OBC) community as he was born in a general category.

Addressing a public rally during the Odisha leg of Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra here, the Wayanad MP said, “Whenever BJP workers come to you, tell them one thing that our Prime Minister lied to the entire country that he belonged to the backward class. He was not born in a backward class, he belongs to the general caste. You tell this to every BJP worker.”

This comes after Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently in Parliament called himself ‘sabse bada OBC’ (the biggest OBC) and accused the Congress of indulging in hypocrisy and adopting double standards while dealing with leaders of Backward communities.

“Congress party and UPA government did not deliver justice with OBCs. A few days ago, Karpoori Thakur ji was conferred with Bharat Ratna. In 1970, when he became Bihar CM, what was not done to destabilise his government? Congress can’t tolerate OBCs…They keep counting how many OBCs are there in government. Can’t you (Congress) see the biggest OBC here (pointing towards himself)?” PM Modi said in his reply to the ‘Motion of Thanks’ on the President’s Address in Lok Sabha on Monday.

PM Modi continued his attack on the UPA government and said that the previous government did not deliver justice to OBCs.

“During the UPA Government, an extra-constitutional body was formed. The government could not have its way before that body. National Advisory Council – did it have any OBC members? Find out,” he added.

The Odisha leg of the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra is scheduled to be completed this afternoon before going on a two-day break from February 9-10. The yatra will resume on February 11 from Chhattisgarh.

Earlier on Wednesday, the 25th day of the Nyay Yatra, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, visited Vedvyas Dham in the Sundergarh district of Western Odisha. The cave of this temple is considered to be the place where sage and poet Ved Vyas ji composed the Mahabharata.

Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra rolled out from Manipur’s Thoubal on January 14. The yatra will cover over 6,700 kilometres over 67 days, traversing through 110 districts. It will cover a distance of 6,713 km, straddling 100 Lok Sabha constituencies and 337 assembly segments and covering 110 districts.

The yatra will conclude in Mumbai on March 20, after 67 days.

A follow-up to the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ which saw Rahul Gandhi cover more than 3,000 kilometres on foot–from Kanya Kumari to Srinagar–the Yatra 2.0 is following a hybrid format. (ANI)

Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra: Rahul Pays Tribute to Birsa Munda in Jharkhand

Congress leader Jairam Ramesh said on Tuesday that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi paid tribute to tribal leader Bhagwan Birsa Munda during his Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra today in Jharkhand’s Khunti.

In a post on X, the Congress leader said, “The 24th day of the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra began at 8 am today with @RahulGandhi garlanding the statue of Dharti Aaba Bhagwan Birsa Munda in Khunti. He also met and honoured the fourth generation of Bhagwan Munda’s family.”

His post added: “Khunti district is the birthplace of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, who was one of the revolutionary leaders of the Indian Independence Movement and a strong proponent of the principles of self-rule, democracy, and justice.”

“His ideals continue to be relevant today and a source of strength and inspiration for us as we resist the Anyay-kaal of the last 10 years,” he said.

Currently, the yatra, which has already covered five states, mostly by bus, is anchored in Jharkhand, where the newly formed government led by Champai Soren survived a floor test in Jharkhand Assembly on Monday.

Speaking on the victory of the alliance in the floor test Rahul Gandhi criticised the BJP claiming that the party was “anti-tribal.”

“Hemant Soren ji said a very touching thing in the Assembly today, “When we came out of the forest, sat next to them, their clothes got dirty”. This is not just a statement, it is the pain of the entire tribal society. The BJP is not tolerating the fact that there is a tribal Chief Minister in the state. Today Jharkhand has given a message to the entire country that the power of the people cannot be subdued by intimidation. This is a victory for the unity of the poor and the tribals, congratulations to all of you” Rahul Gandhi said.

Congress is an ally in the ruling alliance of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) along with the Rashtriya Janata Dal.

Modi Might Handover Steel Mills Of J’khand To His Billionaire Friends: Rahul

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Sunday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi might soon handover the steel mills of the Jharkhand to his billionaire friends adding that the economic injustice has been deliberately orchestrated by PM in the nation where ruling party at the Centre (BJP) is keen on handing over nation’s wealth and resources in few hands.

Addressing a public meeting on the Day 22 of the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra here today, Gandhi pointed out how Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s policies like the demonetisation and faulty GST system had destroyed the country’s economy, broken the back of industry that has led to widespread unemployment.

“A few billionaire friends of the Prime Minister are gradually getting control over all the resources. Prime Minister might soon handover the steel mills of the state, like the Bokaro to the same friends,” Rahul Gandhi said.

Gandhi further pointed out that “Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s policies like the demonetisation and faulty GST system had destroyed the country’s economy, broken the back of the industry that has led to widespread unemployment”.

“Prime Minister was handing over the Public Sector Undertakings, which otherwise generated huge employment, to his friends,” he said.

Cautioning the tribals, Rahul Gandhi said that the BJP-led Centre is hell-bent on taking away their land, forests and water which the Congress party has always defended and protected by enacting special laws for the purpose.

“Congress party will keep on working for you, come what may,” he said.

He further stated that Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra has become a success and he will keep fighting against the divisive ideology of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).

“Congress will keep on fighting against the divisive policies of the RSS and will not let it to spread hate and violence,” he said. (ANI)

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma

Assam CM Asks State Police To File Complaint Against Rahul

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday instructed the state Director General of Police (DGP) to register a case against Rahul Gandhi for allegedly “provoking crowd.”

The Congress leader is leading the party’s Manipur to Mumbai Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra.

Earlier in the day, Congress workers who were stopped from entering Guwahati city clashed with Assam police.

In a post on social media platform X, chief minster Sarma said “Naxalite tactics” were alien to the Assam’s culture.

“These are not part of Assamese culture. We are a peaceful state. Such “Naxalite tactics” are completely alien to our culture. I have instructed DGP Assam Police to register a case against your leader Rahul Gandhi for provoking the crowd and use the footage you have posted on your handles as evidence. Your unruly behaviour and violation of agreed guidelines have resulted in a massive traffic jam in Guwahati now,” Sarma said on X.

Rahul Gandhi had earlier today claimed that he was not allowed to interact with students of the state.

Heavy security was deployed at Khanapara Area, the entry point of Guwahati for the Yatra earlier this morning. A large number of police were present at the scene to stop the yatra from entering Guwahati.

Rahul Gandhi was seen addressing party workers standing on top of a bus. Assam Congress took to social media platform X to state “CM @himantabiswa has been using every ploy to derail the #BharatJodoNyayYatra right from day 1, whether by using his goons, @assampolice or administration. Tearing off posters, banners, hoardings & finally barricading the Yatra down at Batadraba. While a roadshow was allowed when @JPNadda Ji visited Guwahati, today the yatra was not allowed through the city citing security reasons. APCC president @BhupenKBorah led the protest against police oppression. Our fight for justice will continue…”

Rahul Gandhi earlier said that efforts are being made to enslave students of North East and India, adding “There is no need for any student to be afraid.”

He also alleged that the Home Minister of the country had given instructions to prevent him from meeting students of Assam.

“We are being stopped everywhere. The Home Minister of the country picked up the phone and called CM Himanta and said that Rahul Gandhi should not meet the students of Assam. That’s not important whether Rahul Gandhi comes here or not. What’s important is that the students must be allowed to listen to whomever they want to. But it is not happening in any schools and colleges in Assam. You are being told that you cannot speak your language. You are being told that you cannot have your history,” he said. (ANI)
