AAP MCD win

BJP Can’t Buy AAP Leaders With Money or Muscle

Dheeraj Kumar Tokas, a member of Aam Aadmi Party in Delhi, says BJP’s attempts to break away AAP councillors will never be successful

The voters of Delhi have given a clear mandate to the Aam Aadmi Party in the Delhi Municipal Council elections. After 15 long years, AAP has wrested away the BJP bastion in the National Capital. The BJP had expected that it would gain from the unification of three municipal bodies but that was not to be. Now they are saying the Mayor’s election is still an open game, clearly showing their intent to get the Mayor seat by hook or crook. But they will never succeed.

All our party workers, Members of Parliament and Legislative Assemblies as well as ordinary workers are loyal to the party as they firmly believe in its core values. We are confident that they will not switch loyalty nor fall into the trap of BJP party managers.

AAP leader Manish Sisodia recently indicated that a desperate BJP may try its dirty politics to lure away party councillors. He was speaking from his experience, as the BJP did try to break him by first raiding his house and later intimidating him with false cases. The people of Delhi saw through this foul tactics and have rewarded the Aam Aadmi Party for staying firm. We are confident that BJP’s plans to get Delhi’s Mayor’s seat will also be frustrated similarly.

BJP always cries hoarse when it is defeated in the elections, but let them know they are not invincible. Horse trading attempts by BJP will not work with AAP representatives. We believe in an ideology that is not for sale. BJP does not have the capability to buy us.

We had sought support from the voters on the basis of development work that the Delhi government has done in all these years. We had sought votes in the name of education and health, which are fundamental to development. You can see this in Gujarat too where despite being an entirely new player in the fray, we never resorted to dirty politics. Now, with more than 12% votes in our kitty, we have opened our account in Gujarat. Aam Aadmi Party can now proudly boast of being a national party.

Now our priority in Delhi is to make it a garbage-free city. This is the ground we contested for. In the last 15 years of its rule, BJP has made Delhi a dumping ground for the trash of all kinds. We promise to clean it up. We fulfilled the promises made to the people of Delhi in the past; we shall keep our word in future as well.

Kejriwal ji has said in his address that we do not do politics of abuses. We are honest and civilized. We do politics of public issues. We are taking this Delhi Model to other states so that we can make our country the foremost in the world. This is not AAP’s victory. People of Delhi have won this time. This mandate needs to be respected. Let BJP know this.

Himachal Win Cong

Himachal Win Gives Some Succour To Dwindling Cong

Victory in Himachal Pradesh assembly polls came as a huge relief to Congress which recorded its worst performance in Gujarat and had suffered a huge blow in assembly polls in five states held earlier this year.

The results of assembly polls in Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat on Thursday also had a message for opposition parties regarding their ambition to take on the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.
Congress cashed in on the strong anti-incumbency sentiment in Himachal Pradesh as it ran a campaign that focused on local issues and made lucrative promises including the restoration of the old pension scheme and a promise of Rs 1,500 to women and free power of 300 units.

Congress won 40 seats against 25 won by the BJP. However, its vote share was 43,88 percent which is very close to 42.99 percent of the BJP and several seats in the hill state have seen narrow margins with the presence of rebels also a deciding factor.

The Congress’ “hyper-local or micro” campaign in Gujarat did not yield results and apparently made it easier for the BJP to storm back to power with a record victory. The BJP won 156 seats in the state, shattering the record of Congress which had won 149 seats in the 1985 election.

While Congress was able to fend off Aam Aadmi Party’s challenge to a large extent in Himachal Pradesh, it could not do so in Gujarat.

Congress had put up a stout fight against BJP in the 2017 election in Gujarat giving the ruling party a scare but its efforts in this election appeared to lack vitality. Congress’ campaign strategy proved ineffective in front of high-pitched campaigns of BJP and AAP.

Congress vote share has shrunk from 41.4 percent in the 2017 assembly poll to 27.28 percent in this election, a steep slide of around 14 percent. In contrast, both BJP and AAP have increased their vote percentage.

AAP, which has made entry into Gujarat assembly with five seats, is now a national party and has a sizeable 12.92 percent vote share in Gujarat. It appears AAP has gained almost entirely at the cost of Congress in the state.

Like Himachal Pradesh, which has seen alternate governments for several years, Congress also had great hopes of wresting Uttarakhand from the BJP earlier this year. But the party’s inept management allowed the BJP to have a successive second term in office in the hill state.

The Congress is widely seen to have bungled its decisions in Punjab where it was in power and had bright prospects before elections this year in February this year. It was also on the right side of anti-incumbency in the assembly polls held earlier this year in Goa and Manipur.

Not having projected a chief ministerial face in Himachal Pradesh, the Congress now has a major task to choose an acceptable face among the clashing ambition of its leaders in the hill state. An acceptable choice would be vital for the stability of the government.

Party leaders hailed the verdict in Himachal Pradesh as a “morale booster” and said the pledges made to the people of the state would be fulfilled.

They also expressed disappointment over Gujarat’s results.

“Congress was up against a 3 party alliance of BJP, AAP, and MIM, a campaign of provocative polarisation, the machinery of state and Centre. Our vote share gives us hope and confidence for rebuilding and revival. We are the only alternative in Gujarat,” party leader Jairam Ramesh said in a tweet.

Congress general secretary KC Venugopal said in tweets, Himachal Pradesh “has chosen its message of compassion over hatred”.

On Gujarat, he said the “unholy nexus between AAP and BJP was instrumental in dividing the secular votes to script the saffron victory”.

“The Congress party will deeply probe and introspect the reasons for this debacle and will take corrective measures,” he said.

The Bharat Jodo Yatra led by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has an apparent larger objective to prepare the ground for the party’s success in the 2024 elections but the party has to do a rigorous follow-up to make any gains. While Rahul Gandhi addressed two rallies in Himachal Pradesh, he did not address any rallies in Himachal Pradesh.

Rahul Gandhi said in a tweet that the party accepts the verdict in Gujarat and the party will reorganize itself and work hard to fight for the rights of the people of the state and for the ideals of the country.

He thanked the people of Himachal for the verdict and congratulated party leaders. The Congress drubbing in Gujarat came two days after the party registered its worst performance in the MCD election in the national capital.

These are the first election results under the new party chief Mallikarjun Kharge.

Not having a projected chief ministerial face in Himachal Pradesh, the Congress now has a major task to choose an acceptable face among the clashing ambitions of its leaders in the hill state. An acceptable choice would be vital for the stability of the government.

The Congress will face major challenges in elections next year in Karnataka, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh.

While it is in power in Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan, BJP is in power in Karnataka and is seeking to massively expand in Telangana.

Gujarat results also expose the faultlines in opposition unity that would give BJP an advantage in the forthcoming elections. With AAP likely to contest assembly polls next year in Karnataka, Rajasthan, and Chhattisgarh, it could add to the problems of the Congress in these states. The competition among opposition parties and fragmentation of votes would pose a stiff challenge to opposition unity ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha polls with Congress keen to lead the race. (ANI)

CBI Kejriwal's Residence

Kejriwal Seeks Modi’s ‘Blessings’ To Make Delhi Civic Services Better

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who led Aam Aadmi Party to astounding victory in the civic body polls on Wednesday, thanked the people for “believing” in him and also sought Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “blessings” for making the city better.

Kejriwal was addressing the party workers and candidates after registering a win in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi polls as AAP won 134 seats out of 250 wards in the polls, and the BJP won 104 wards.

“I congratulate the people of Delhi for this win and thank them for bringing change. We have fulfilled the responsibilities that the people of Delhi gave us. I am indebted to you for believing in me and giving me love. We all have to work together. I appeal to all the candidates and parties that politics was only till today, we all have to work for the betterment of Delhi,” Kejriwal said.

The Chief Minister sought cooperation from the BJP and Congress in working “together” for the city.

“I want cooperation from the BJP and the Congress. I expect their cooperation. I appeal to the Centre and ask for the Prime Minister’s blessings to make Delhi better. We have to make MCD corruption-free. Today, the people of Delhi have given a message to the entire nation,” he said.

Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann were also present on the occasion.

Sisodia said that the mandate by the people of Delhi was to oust the BJP from power.

“The people of Delhi have not only given the mandate to make Kejriwal win, but also to oust the BJP from the MCD. It is not just a victory but a big responsibility to clean the city,” he said.

The Aam Aadmi Party crossed the halfway mark gaining a majority in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi elections on Wednesday, thus uprooting the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) 15-year-long rule in the city’s civic body.

Way earlier than the final results were declared, celebrations started at the Aam Aadmi Party office in the national capital after the trends showed that the party is set to take over the MCD from the BJP.

The party workers gathered in front of the office and rejoiced, danced, and chanted slogans praising party chief Arvind Kejriwal.

In a fiercely fought battle, the BJP began the day by leading in the initial trends for nearly one and a half hours initially, however, the trends started shifting as the AAP gained the lead and maintained thereafter until the final results were declared.

Both the parties held on to hope as the counting began at 8 am, with the BJP claiming to win the elections for the fourth time, while the AAP exuded confidence in winning the elections.

“The BJP has got the answer today that the people of Delhi vote for those who work, and not for the ones who defame. The BJP fielded its MPs, Ministers, CBI, and ED, but the people of Delhi still voted for the AAP. The people have given a befitting reply to the BJP for the allegations that it levelled against Kejriwal. We will make Delhi the most beautiful city in the world,” Raghav Chadha said earlier.

The high-decibel battle which was fought in the election campaign ahead of the polling on December 4, witnessed the claims and counter-claims by both parties (BJP, AAP) of winning the elections, however, it all boiled down to December 7 when the outcome of the election was revealed. (ANI)

MCD Results: AAP Crosses Halfway Mark

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) crossed the halfway mark in the counting of votes in 250 wards of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) elections, as per the latest trends on Wednesday, hinting that the exit polls which predicted the party’s edge were right.

According to the latest data by the Election Commission till 11 am, the AAP is leading in 102 seats (plus 25 wins) breaching the halfway mark with a total of 127 wards. Meanwhile, the BJP is leading in 83 wards (plus 26 wins).
Congress is leading in 8, independent in 2 as per the trends at 11 am.

According to the results declared so far by the EC, the BJP’s candidates have won in 26 wards, while AAP has registered wins in 25 wards while Congress wins stand at 3. One independent has been declared a winner.

The high-decibel battle which was fought in the election campaign ahead of the polling on December 4, witnessed the claims and counter-claims by both parties (BJP, AAP) of winning the elections, however, it all boils down to December 7 when the outcome of the election would be revealed.

The polls for 250 wards in the national capital were held on December 4 with about 50 per cent voter turnout and a total of 1,349 candidates were in the fray. However, the low voter turnout may not be an indicator of pro-incumbency with the exit polls predicting the AAP win in the MCD polls.

Congress, which is mostly focussing on the success of the Bharat Jodo Yatra, was not predicted (in the exit polls) to be a prominent challenger in the recently conducted polling. The party is predicted to get only a handful of seats.

However, the high-stakes civic polls are largely seen as a three-way contest between the BJP, the AAP and the Congress.

For the counting, the Commission has set up 42 counting centres across the city. 68 Election Observers have already been deployed by the Commission under whose supervision the counting of votes shall be carried out by the Returning Officers in the presence of candidates or their representatives.

Further, the Commission has also deployed 136 engineers from Electronics Corporation of India Limited (ECIL) at these counting centres to attend to any technical issues regarding the EVMs which may arise during the counting of votes.

Special Media Rooms to facilitate viewing of live results on the Commission’s web portal on the LED screens at these 42 counting centres.

These centres are under multi-layered security and entry of persons authorized by the Commission shall only be allowed by the security personnel deployed at these centres.

Delhi had witnessed highly charged campaigning by AAP and BJP which made top leaders, including Union ministers, chief ministers of BJP-ruled states and MPs hit the streets for door-to-door campaigning and meetings to garner public support.

The BJP, which has governed the civic body in Delhi since 2007, is looking to maintain its winning streak.

This was the first civic election after the fresh delimitation exercise. There were 272 wards in Delhi and three corporations – NDMC, SDMC, and EDMC in Delhi from 2012-2022 that later reunified into an MCD that had formally come into existence on May 22. (ANI)

Delhi BJP aap

Delhi Witnesses Close Contest Btw AAP, BJP

As the initial trends of the counting of votes for the Municipal Corporation of Delhi elections showed a neck-to-neck contest between the ruling BJP and the Aam Aadmi Party, both political outfits exuded confidence in winning the polls.

Counting of votes on the 250 wards of the MCD began at 8 am today.
Speaking to ANI, BJP leader Harish Khurrana said that the exit polls were proven wrong in the previous MCD elections and it will be repeated again in the city this time also.

“The BJP is confident. The next Mayor of Delhi will be from the BJP. We have worked. The BJP was predicted to win 50 seats in the last elections as well, but we won with two-third majority,” he said.

AAP’s Saurabh Bharadwaj also exuded confidence that his party will win with a huge margin and get over 180 seats.

“We are going to get more than 180 seats. If voters favour us, we can also cross 230 seats. Mayor will be from our party. I think exit polls are pointing towards the victory of Aam Aadmi Party,” he said.

He said that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and AAP MLAs will collectively arrive at the party office after the trends become clear.

“AAP will win with big majority. Delhi will be cleaned. The initial trends will change as the counting of votes from EVM has begun. We are prepared and will have big celebrations. Chief Minister Kejriwal and the winner candidates and the MLAs will reach here as the trends are clear,” Bharadwaj said.

In a neck-and-neck contest so far, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has gained an edge over the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as per the initial trends in the counting of votes for the Delhi civic body polls on Wednesday.

As per the official data by the Election Commission till 10 am, the AAP which was trailing since the counting began at 8 am, gained a lead over the ruling BJP.

The latest data shows the AAP leading in 114 municipal wards as against the BJP which is leading in 110.

Congress, which was trailing since morning on the third spot, maintains its position with its lead in 11 wards, while the BSP is leading in 1 ward. 4 independents are also leading. (ANI)

Uttarakhand Dhami 8 New Cities

BJP Won’t Let AAP Open Its Account In MCD Elections: Dhami

Taking a dig at the Aam Aadmi Party, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Puskar Singh Dhami on Thursday said that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will retain power in the MCD elections and will not let AAP even “open its account”.

While talking to ANI, Dhami said, “Delhi will continue what was started in Uttarakhand where they didn’t let the party even open its account.”
A day after Uttarakhand legislative assembly passed a stricter anti-conversion bill, Dhami on Thursday said, “Religious conversion was going on in a lot of places and was becoming a serious matter. So, we have made a provision that nobody will be able to indulge in religious conversion. If found guilty, they will face a jail term of up to 10 years. We’ve made a law.”

“Be it people across the country or in Delhi, everyone wants development, nationalism, and transparency and work going on under PM Modi’s leadership. Delhi will continue what was started in Uttarakhand where they didn’t let a party even open its account,” Dhami added.

Earlier on Wednesday, two important Bills were passed by voice vote in the Uttarakhand Assembly on the second day of the supplementary budget session on Thursday. A strict law regarding religious conversions in the state is now in place after the passage of the Uttarakhand Religion Freedom (Amendment) Bill 2022.

Apart from this, the Uttarakhand Public Service (Horizontal Reservation for Women) Bill 2022 will once again implement the system of 30 percent horizontal reservation for women in the state, which is considered a big achievement of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami’s government.

A few days ago, the state government also approved both bills from the Cabinet. With the passage of these Bills in the Vidhan Sabha on Wednesday, a notification for their implementation in the state will be issued soon.

“Uttarakhand is the land of Gods, where things like religious conversion are very dangerous for us, so the government had decided to enact the strictest laws for religious conversion in the state,” Dhami had said.

He said that it is the endeavour of the state government to implement this law in the state at the earliest.

“Mother power has a huge contribution in the construction of Uttarakhand and the government had already decided that respecting the mother power in this state with adverse geographical conditions, they should be given this horizontal reservation benefits,” he had said while speaking about the Horizontal Reservation Bill for women in Uttarakhand.

The high-stakes polls to the 250-ward Municipal Corporation of Delhi are due on December 4 and the votes will be counted on December 7.

The civic polls are shaping up to be a two-way contest between the BJP, which currently holds the civic reins in the national capital, and the AAP, which is in power in the capital. (ANI)

Delhi: AAP Candidate Booked For Flaunting Revolver

Delhi police on Wednesday registered a case against the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate for the upcoming Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) elections Joginder Singh after a video of him brandishing a revolver while dancing went viral on social media.

“A case has been registered under the Arms Act against a man named Joginder Singh alias Bunty, who is an AAP candidate for MCD polls from Ward-19, Swaroop Nagar, as he was seen in a viral video flaunting his revolver while dancing,” Delhi Police said in a statement.
Officials said that they received the video clip through social media, in which a group of people were seen dancing.

“While one of them, wearing a Yellow t-shirt – the police identified as AAP candidate Joginder Singh – took out a revolver, brandished it in the air, and then pointed it out towards the camera while dancing,” the police said in the FIR against Singh.

On the basis of this, a case under section 25 of the Arms Act 1959 has been registered against Joginder Singh at Swaroop Nagar police station. We are further looking into the case, they said.

Singh is an AAP candidate from Ward-19 (Swaroop Nagar) for the upcoming MCD elections.

The high-stakes polls for the 250-ward MCD are scheduled on December 4 and, the counting of votes will be done on December 7.

The civic polls are shaping up to be a two-way contest between the BJP, which currently holds the civic reins in the national capital, and the AAP, which is in power in the national capital. (ANI)

Gujarat Election Campaign

Why Gujarat Won’t Be A Cakewalk For BJP

It’s been almost three decades now since the BJP and the Sangh Parivar have been ruling Gujarat, which is its social and political stronghold, and its most successful ‘lab of Hindutva’. In a largely polarised state, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the unilateral leader of a huge chunk of the majority community, and it does not really matter who the chief minister is anymore. Hence, there is no reason why the BJP should not yet again win the 2022 assembly polls in the state, however tight and messy it might get in the end.

However, the signs from the ground are telling a slightly different story, even as the campaign picks up heat. Political observers and certain transparent indications point to the fact that the ruling party is not so confident any longer, even while the close result in the last assembly polls in 2017 seems to be haunting its top leadership.

In the last election, despite the last-minute rhetorical appeals and the typically negative polarising cards, the BJP could manage just about 99 seats in the assembly of 182, with the Congress scoring 77. Critics point out cynically that at least 15 to 20 seats in this tally seemed to be very, very close, and could have gone either way. Hence, the rhetoric of winning a huge majority, perhaps as many as 150 seats, did not quite come match the bitter reality, suggesting strong anti-incumbency and stagnation in its loyalist vote base, mass disgruntlement across the large sections of the urban, rural and tribal segments, unhappiness among the trading and business classes as in Surat, and the fading charisma of the prime minister in his own home turf.

Besides, in the post-polls scenario last time, as Dalit MLA Jignesh Mewani told Lokmarg, majority of the Congress MLAs, unlike, for instance, in Karnataka or Madhya Pradesh, stood their ground with the party, and did not switch over to the BJP, for the lure of power or privilege. (Some, however, found a cosy space in the saffron party, yet again raising the question of ideological commitment among Congress MLAs.)

The top brass of the BJP, including current chief ministers from the states where it is ruling, are set to campaign in Gujarat, which used to earlier be a one-dimensional, one-man rollercoaster ride. Amit Shah, who had reportedly withdrawn from state politics, is now once again holding the reins as chief strategist, appeasing rebels and smoothening the well-oiled machinery, which seems to be creaking in recent times, with a large number of inactive state leaders simply looking up to the PM to coast them to victory. After the ticket distribution, rebel activities in several constituencies have arrived as bad news for the party.

As many as 38 sitting MLAs have been dropped from the final list, even as almost 90 seats have been given to the OBCs and Patidars. Former CM Vijay Rupani and his deputy, Nitin Patel, along with senior leader Bhupendrasingh Chudasama, will not be contesting. They have pledged their loyalty to the party and wowed to work for its victory. Earlier, Rupani’s entire cabinet was dropped and a new CM was chosen, a first-time legislator, with neither charisma nor mass appeal. He is known to be a loyalist of the PM, as is the BJP state chief, CR Patil. Anyway, loyalties in BJP can’t mark a sudden paradigm shift, given the current circumstances. There have been unconfirmed reports of ‘tension’ within the ‘top leadership’ of the party in Delhi with these changes coming into effect in Gujarat.

Jignesh Mewani points to the ground-level “silent work” done by the Congress since the Chintan Shivir held in February this year in the state led by Rahul Gandhi. “Don’t underestimate the Congress. Our four yatras across urban and remote regions in the state have been successful. All our leaders and cadre have been working at the grassroots since months. This will not be a cake-walk for the BJP this time also, as it was not so in 2017,” he said.

ALSO READ: ‘Voters Are Disgruntled, But Choices Are Limited’

Besides, there are unconfirmed reports from Himachal Pradesh that the BJP might not really do well in the polls out there. Though the hill state does not celebrate the politics of polarization, signals from there will have an impact in Gujarat.

The ‘silent’ campaign of the Congress was pointed out by the PM himself in a rally in early October, as he alerted his party workers. “I need to warn you because it appears to me that this time the Congress has adopted a new strategy. I have not probed, but that is what appears to me at the first glance,” he told a rally in Anand. There seems to be a different strategy this time since the Congress is working “silently” and will be using “manipulative” methods, he had warned.

Congress sources point out that the departure of Patidar leader Hardik Patel and OBC leader Alpesh Thakore will have little impact on the ground, because the movements they had earlier led were against the BJP-led government, and the youth of their communities feel betrayed by them. “For how long can Hindutva work in the face of real issues?” asked a Congress leader, stressing that there is an aggressive campaign on the ground with 25 big public meetings and rallies in 125 constituencies, with its CMs from Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh campaigning, along with other top leaders, including Sonia and Priyanka Gandhi. Party leaders from Bihar and other states are campaigning in the districts. There is yet no indication if Rahul Gandhi will address a rally.

The Congress manifesto has promised debt-waiver for farmers, gas cylinder at ₹500 and 300 free units of electricity, no rampant privatization of education and health sectors, 10 lakh government jobs, and the restoration of the old pension scheme. Indeed, these issues, along with the suffering caused to the traders and small-scale entrepreneurs due to the imposition of GST and demonetisation, continue to simmer in the public consciousness, along with the relentless post-pandemic trauma of increasing poverty and mass unemployment, especially among the youth.

It is in this context that the AAP seems to have made a grand entry, especially in the urban areas, though it is now being said that it has peaked a bit too early and is losing its fizz. The BJP won almost 50 seats in the big cities, and the AAP is concentrating in urban areas, with its promises of ‘shandaar schools’, free electricity, perks to small-scale industry and traders, and a brand new health infrastructure with Delhi as a role model. The party has indeed captured the imagination of certain sections of urban society who are looking for ‘development and freebies’ beyond the politics of Hindutva, and with its ‘apolitical’ freshness and organizational acumen, an energetic AAP cadre seems to pushing the threshold in the cities. A seasoned journalist based in Ahemdabad told Lokmarg earlier that in case of a hung assembly, the AAP might back the Congress.

Meanwhile, in a significant and brave move, the Congress has declared that it will revoke the decision to free the accused in the Bilkis Bano case. This should appeal to not only the minorities and women, but also a big chunk of liberal and secular voters in Gujarat, who have over the years been steadfast Congress supporters, and who have refused to be swayed by either hate politics, or the consolidation of Hindutva in the state.

BJP MCD Polls

BJP Plans Roadshows On Sunday Ahead Of MCD Polls

The Bharatiya Janata Party is going to kickstart its campaign in the municipal elections with 14 roadshows on Sunday.

Ahead of MCD polls, the BJP is going to organise mega roadshows with 14 national leaders in Delhi on November 20.
According to the source, 14 prominent leaders will be doing mega roadshows in Delhi, taking all the policies and benefits to the people across all 14 districts of Delhi.

This is BJP’s strong move to gain more votes in its favour. These leaders will go to the areas as per their regional influence.

Last time, Aam Adami Party challenged BJP for MCD due to incumbency but BJP won with majority and came to power.

“The BJP, which is hoping to win a fourth term in the municipal corporation, will finalise the plan for the roadshows and names of senior leaders who will attend them by Saturday,” party sources said.

“The list will be issued soon after receiving approval from the national leadership”, they said. (ANI)
