People Will Form BJP Govt In 2024 LS Polls: Yogi

As the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is heading towards a landslide victory in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh, party leader and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed confidence that the people of the country will form a BJP government in the Lok Sabha polls in 2024.

“It is evident that the people have accepted the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The people have accepted his development model, his schemes designated for the welfare of the poor, and his efforts to establish the image of the country on the global stage,” CM Yogi told reporters in Uttar Pradesh’s Gorakhpur.

“Today, our government got repeated in Madhya Pradesh. Also, we achieved a massive victory in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh. It is now clear that the people of the country will form the BJP’s government in the Lok Sabha polls in 2024 under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modiji,” he added.

The BJP is leading on 115 seats in the 199-member Rajasthan assembly, with Congress being ahead on 69 seats.

In the 230-member Madhya Pradesh assembly, the BJP is leading with 164 seats, while the Congress is ahead on 65 seats.

In the tribal heartland of Chhattisgarh, the BJP, having crossed the majority mark, is leading with 54 seats, with the incumbent grand old party being ahead on 36 seats.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Modi also expressed glee over the landslide victory of the party in the three states.

“We bow to the Janta Janardan. The results in Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan indicate that the people of India are firmly with politics of good governance and development, which the @BJP4India stands for”, he wrote in a post on ‘X’.

PM Modi also thanked the people of these states, stating that the BJP will keep working tirelessly for their well-being.

“I thank the people of these states for their unwavering support and assure them that we will keep working tirelessly for their well-being,” he said.

“A special thanks to the hardworking Party Karyakartas. Each of them is exemplary! They have worked tirelessly and highlighted our development agenda among the people,” PM Modi added.

The results of the assembly polls are crucial as the country is gearing up for the Lok Sabha polls in 2024. (ANI)

Omar Abdullah

If Situation Is Like This In future, We Cannot Win: Omar Abdullah

Amid the results of four state assembly elections in which the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is leading n Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said that judging the results of the INDIA bloc, if the situation continues to be like this in future, the opposition alliance will not be able to win.

“Judging the results of INDIA alliance in the state elections, if the situation is like this in the future, we cannot win,” Omar Abdullah said, speaking to reporters on Sunday.

Abdullah said that the Congress’ claims in the state elections proved otherwise since the party was able to win only in Telangana.

“BJP should be congratulated because we were not expecting this result. We were hearing from our allies that in Chhattisgarh, the Congress would come to power easily, they would win in Madhya Pradesh as well, they were confident in Telangana and they were even saying that in the end they will come out victorious in Rajasthan as well. When the results came out, only their claim in Telangana stood true. Neither could they save Chhattisgarh, nor win back Madhya Pradesh nor could they win in Rajasthan again,” he said.

Speaking about the BJP’s foothold in Madhya Pradesh, Abdullah said, “If you see Madhya Pradesh, Kamal Nath was the Chief Minister for a short time, but leaving that aside, for around 20 years BJP was in power. This is BJP’s fifth term. This is huge.”

On the future of the INDIA bloc, the National Conference Vice President said, “On December 6, the Congress chief has invited some INDIA alliance leaders for lunch. They recalled the INDIA alliance after three months. Let’s see.”

Speaking on the performance of the Congress in Madhya Pradesh, Abdullah said that the Congress should have given some seats to its INDIA bloc partner, Samajwadi Party to contest.

“Either the Congress has not been able to understand the ground situation in Madhya Pradesh. What harm could have happened if they had given 5-7 seats to Akhilesh Yadav. What storm could have blown? What have they won now? The results are in front of everyone now,” he said.

On whether his party will be contesting with the INDIA bloc for the state assembly elections, Abdullah said, “The NC will be standing on its own.”

Going by trends, the Congress has been able to consolidate Telangana. In Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan, the BJP seems to be winning. (ANI)

Nitin Gadkari

Will Win At Least Three Out Of Five States: Gadkari

Amid ongoing elections in five state assemblies, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is confident of winning at least three out of five states.

“We are confident of winning at least three out of five states,” Gadkari said speaking to ANI on Tuesday.

The senior BJP leader added that in Mizoram, their “numbers” will increase and will also score well in the Telangana elections.

“Our numbers will increase to a good extent in Mizoram, and we will get a good victory in Telangana as well,” Gadkari said.

While elections in Mizoram took place on November 7, the first phase of elections in Chhattisgarh was conducted on the same date.

Madhya Pradesh will vote on November 17. The second phase of polling in Chhattisgarh will be held on November 17 as well. Rajasthan will vote on November 25 and Telangana will vote on November 30.

The BJP is in power in Madhya Pradesh and seeks a second term. The party wants to overthrow the Congress governments in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh. The BJP won one seat in Telangana and Mizoram.

Gadkari was confident that the BJP will win in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections since people believe that the BJP is the only party that has the capability to change the fate and future of the country.

“I believe that we will win the coming Lok Sabha elections also. We have brought development in the last ten years under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Good work has been done. People have now come to believe that if any party has the capability to change the fate and future of the country, it is the BJP. Hence we will get support and we will win,” the Union Minister said.

Speaking about the elections in Madhya Pradesh which will vote on Friday, Gadkari said that the BJP has done good work under the leadership of Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“Our party has done good work in the last 20 years under the leadership of Shivraj Singh Chouhan and under the leadership of Modi. The double engine of the combined government is doing good development work. That is why our victory in Madhya Pradesh is certain,” he said.

Choosing not to comment on Rahul Gandhi’s statement that there would be a ‘toofan’ (storm) of the Congress party in Madhya Pradesh, Gadkari said, “He (Rahul Gandhi) has the right to speak whatever he wants to. I will not comment on what he said. I believe that we will win the elections by gaining the trust of the people and the positive work we have done.”

Speaking on the caste census, Gadkari said that it is Rahul Gandhi’s last option since he is losing.

“What does a losing man not do? I believe that no matter how negatively he (Rahul Gandhi) talks, people will vote for us positively and we will win the elections. This is my belief.”

Mocking the INDIA bloc, the Union Minister said that alliances are formed when the opposition party becomes weak.

“I believe that when the opposition party becomes weak, an alliance is formed. It is the result of our increasing strength,” he said.

The opposition parties have huddled together to form an alliance with the Congress party at the centre, to take on the BJP ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. (ANI)

Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh

Checking Pulse Rate Is Not An Offence: Brij Bhushan

The counsel for Bharatiya Janata Party MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh on Monday argued that there is no basis for allegations levelled against the accused.

The counsel for the WFI chief also argued that Singh, an accused in the sexual harassment of women wrestlers case, only checked the pulse rate. “Without sexual intent checking pulse rate is not an offence,” he argued.

Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh and Vinod Tomar have been charge-sheeted in a case of sexual harassment, lodged on the basis of complaints by six women wrestlers.

The Oversight Committee was not formed on the basis of any complaint. It was formed on the basis of tweets posted tagging the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports and Ministry of Home Affairs, the counsel argued.

Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate after hearing the part arguments listed the matter for further arguments on charge on October 19.

Advocate Rajiv Mohan appeared for the BJP MP and argued that on January 18, 2023, the first protest was started at Jantar Mantar and on January 19, one of the wrestlers Babita Phogat met the Union Sports Minister.

He further argued that on January 20, 2023, the Sports Ministry and Home Ministry were tagged. “Till this time no complaint was filed,” Advocate Rajiv Mohan said on behalf of Singh.

It was stated that on January 23 oversight committee was formed. “On the basis of the Government of India letter. The report was forwarded to Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) New Delhi,” he said.

The defence counsel further argued that the Oversight Committee’s report is a part of the charge sheet and relies on documents.

Meaning thereby it is a relied-upon document. It was supplied to police in pursuance of notice by police, the counsel argued.

” Till its (oversight committee) formation, there were no written or oral allegations,” the counsel argued.

On the point of period of limitation advocate Rajiv Mohan submitted that there is a difference between offence molestation and sexual harassment.

He argued that the wrestlers were well aware of what is sexual harassment and that the offence of sexual harassment is punishable by a period of three years, which is time-barred after three years.

Therefore to suit their case, the allegations of molestation were added to the complaints. The offence of sexual harassment is punishable with imprisonment of five years, he added.

He also pointed out that the Oversight Committee exonerated the coaches against whom allegations were levelled.

Advocate Mohan further argued that the letter is on record, which shows that the Oversight Committee was formed by the GOI.

If I am not exonerated, then I am also not implicated in the report of the oversight committee, Advocate Rajiv Mohan pointed out.

He submitted that the foundation of the allegations is not based on any complaint.

“Since there was no complaint to the ministry or Sports Authority of India (SAI), therefore the committee proceeded on the basis of tweets,” he said.

Even after the formation of the committee no complaint was filed, he added.

It was also submitted that the complainants were summoned their statements were recorded and the proceedings were video recorded. Only two affidavits out of six complainants were filed before the committee.

On the point of breathing pattern checking, the accused’s counsel referred to the statement of one of the witnesses who stated she never saw him (accused) touching any girl in an inappropriate manner. “He used to check the pulse rate,” the accused’s counsel submitted.

“Pulse checking without sexual intent is not an offence,” he added.

On the point of alleged incidents at the WFI Office, the BJP MP submitted, “I never called anyone at my WFI office. The complainant came herself to confront me.”

As the complainant was not focusing on her game but more on tweets, he added.

Why should I have checked the breathing pattern without occasion? It was not an occasion at my office to check it. If I was intended to molest, then why should I have checked the breathing pattern by touching the stomach,” he added.

“There is no mention of a breath test in the affidavit given by a complainant, he added. However, it was mentioned in the complaints,” the counsel argued. (ANI)

Rajkumar Verka

Punjab: BJP’s Rajkumar Verka Resigns From Party To Rejoin Cong

Punjab Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) vice president Rajkumar Verka on Friday announced his resignation from the party adding that he is going to Delhi to rekindle ties with Congress.

The former Punjab minister, who left Congress in June last year and joined BJP, announced his decision to quit BJP during a press briefing at his residence in Amritsar today.

He said that joining the BJP was a big mistake and termed his rekindling ties with the Congress party ‘ghar wapsi’.

“After thinking for many days, I have decided that I am leaving the BJP. I am resigning from the BJP. After this, I am leaving for Delhi right now. I will join the Congress party,” Verka said at the press briefing.

He added, “I can say with certainty that BJP does not have a tradition of taking everyone along.” Verka also claimed that if any party can work for the interests of Punjab, it is only Congress.

Verka further said that as he rejoins Congress, many other former members of the party in Punjab will also bid goodbye to BJP and will rejoin Congress. After holding the press conference, Verka left for the airport, from where he will go straight to Delhi and meet the Congress top brass.

In fact, recently during Congress MP Rahul Gandhi’s visit to Amritsar, there were discussions on Verka leaving BJP to join Congress.

Punjab BJP called Verka’s decision to quit the party “unfortunate” while also wishing him luck.

“It is very unfortunate. When he joined the BJP, he was given respect. He was made the Vice President of the Punjab State BJP. He was also nominated as a member of the top core decision-making committee of the party,” Punjab BJP Spokesperson Anil Sarin said while speaking to reporters in Patiala.

Sarin further said, “If he is leaving, and that too for joining the Congress, I think Raj Kumar Verka has to answer what the reasons were that he had left Congress and joined the BJP. And now what has happened in the Congress that he is joining it back. He has to answer. He must have had some political expectations that he thought could not be fulfilled here. But still, I would say that a person leaving the family is unfortunate. I wish him good luck.” (ANI)

Delhi liquor

BJP Holds Protest Against AAP Over Delhi Liquor Scam

Delhi Police detained Bharatiya Janata Party workers and leaders as they staged protest in the national capital on Thursday against the Aam Aadmi Party government over the Delhi Liquor Policy case.

The visuals from the scene showed a huge number of BJP members staging protests and raising slogans against the AAP government and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal.

The visuals showed several BJP workers being detained along with BJP Delhi president Virendra Sachdeva.

“Our struggle is against the corruption of Arvind Kejriwal and this battle of ours will continue,” said Virendra Sachdeva during the protest.

The Delhi liquor scam or the excise policy case pertains to allegations that the Arvind Kejriwal-led Delhi government’s excise policy for 2021-22 allowed cartelisation and favoured certain dealers who had allegedly paid bribes for it, a charge that has been strongly refuted by the AAP.

The ED and the CBI had alleged that irregularities were committed while modifying the Excise Policy, undue favours were extended to licence holders, the licence fee was waived or reduced and the L-1 licence was extended without the competent authority’s approval. The beneficiaries diverted “illegal” gains to the accused officials and made false entries in their books of account to evade detection.

As per the allegations, the Excise Department had decided to refund the Earnest Money Deposit of about Rs 30 crore to a successful tenderer against the set rules. Even though there was no enabling provision, a waiver on tendered licence fees was allowed from December 28, 2021, to January 27, 2022, due to COVID-19.

This allegedly caused a loss of Rs 144.36 crore to the exchequer, which has been instituted on a reference from the Union Home Ministry following a recommendation from Delhi Lieutenant-Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) arrested AAP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh on the evening of October 4, 2023, in connection with the Delhi excise policy case.

Sanjay Singh was arrested following a day-long questioning session by ED officials at his Delhi residence.

In February 2023, AAP leader Manish Sisodia was also arrested by the CBI for alleged irregularities in the framing and implementation of Delhi’s new excise policy. The policy was withdrawn amid allegations of foul play by the Opposition. (ANI)

Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut

Modi Will Not Become PM In 2024: Raut

Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) faction leader Sanjay Raut has said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will not become PM again in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Addressing a Press Conference, Raut said “The INDIA Alliance has been formed especially for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections and discussions related to 2024 elections take place in the alliance meeting. I say with certainty that the BJP government will not be formed in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Modi ji will not be the Prime Minister in 2024, BJP government will not remain at the centre.”

“Congress is a big party in Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Telangana. So Congress will decide whom to take along and whom not to take,” Sanjay Raut added.

Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) Working President Supriya Sule on Wednesday stated that discussions regarding seat allocation within the INDIA alliance are in progress.

“The seat-sharing talks are underway for several states and it has not stopped. Every state has its own permutations and combinations. The work is going on,” Sule said while talking to reporters.

Earlier, the opposition parties, united under the banner of the INDIA on August 31-September 1, concluded their third meeting in Maharashtra and adopted resolutions to collectively contest the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections while announcing that seat-sharing arrangements would be finalized as soon as possible through a spirit of give-and-take.

After a two-day meeting of the opposition Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance coalition four main committees were formed in which members of all the political parties were included.

INDIA alliance is a group of opposition parties, including the Congress and the parties have come together to take on the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), which is led by PM Narendra Modi’s Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and prevent it from winning a third straight term at the Centre in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Elections will be held in the five crucial states of Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Telangana and Mizoram between November 7 and 30, and the results will be declared on December 3. (ANI)

Rajasthan

Even If Rahul Contests In Rajasthan Polls, BJP Will Win: Rajyavardhan

After Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot claimed that the Bhartiya Janta Party had accepted defeat in the upcoming state polls, BJP leader Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore reacted sharply to Gehlot’s statement, saying that even if Congress brings Rahul Gandhi as a candidate in Rajasthan, the BJP will still win.

On Tuesday, the Rajasthan CM, while addressing a rally in Churu, asserted that PM Modi keeps visiting states again and again. After the election, will he come and open colleges here? Will he come and make roads here? What will PM Modi do?, he questioned.

He further said that the BJP is having difficulty deciding a face for there party in Rajasthan. They have given tickets to MPs, and I consider this their biggest failure. “This means they have accepted defeat”, CM Gehlot said.

Responding to Ashok Gehlot’s statement, Rathore said, “Why is Ashok Gehlot so afraid… The election is between the political parties, so let the Congress contest with their best team, and we (the BJP) will contest with our best team. We are not questioning who Congress is contesting the elections with; let them bring Rahul Gandhi as well, and we will still win double the seats.”

He further went on to say that BJP has a strategy of its own; PM Modi will go into Lok Sabha with fresh faces, and there are some fresh faces in Rajasthan as well who are influenced by the way PM Modi works and have learned from it.

“Our strategy is to go with people who have zero tolerance for corruption and who know how to make every single person benefit from the government schemes,” said Rathore.

Further responding to Congress party members’ comments that BJP released the candidate list during Pitru Paksha (Kanagat) even when the party believes in Sanatan Dharma, Rathore said, “This is being said by a party that calls Sanatan Dharma dengue and malaria. The INDIA alliance in a meeting had said to end the Sanatan dharma.”

“A party that collapsed Ram Darbar in Rajasthan, collapsed a 300-year-old Shiv Mandir, caused the death of multiple saints, promotes separatists, says if Ram Navmi is carried on then Section 144 will be imposed, says that permission will have to be taken from CM Ashok Gehlot if bhajans are to be played and on the other hand supports a particular community and supports the march of PFI which is a banned organization,” added Rathore.

He further said that the Congress party has lost all its confidence.

On some BJP members expressing their displeasure with the candidate list, Rathore said that any human would be disappointed if he has got ambitions of his own and they are not fulfilled but I completely believe that anyone who is influenced by the BJP ideology and keeps the nation as priority will pull themselves together.

“Maybe this is a strategy that at present a party worker who is being asked to be patient today, may get even a bigger opportunity in future, and there are multiple such examples within the party, and maybe it is a test by the party that if certain workers can be patient or do they want to prioritize themselves before the nation and the people, he added.

The BJP leader further said, “I am sure that it is evident to the people as well that BJP will be forming government in Rajasthan and development will be only possible when the people who are focused towards development are voted.”

Responding to Gehlot’s comment that BJP has no face for CM in Rajasthan, Rathore took a dig at the Rajasthan CM and said that should there be a face in Rajasthan that made the state rank number one in crime against women, a face that promotes separatists, a face which got multiple papers leaked or should there be a face that has received the blessings of the public since the last 20 years whether it be as a CM or PM for last 9.5 years because such a face is a guarantee of development.

For us, the face is PM Modi, as his face clarifies what he stands for, and we will make Rajasthan a complete part of PM Modi’s vision of Amritkaal, a state with zero tolerance for corruption, zero tolerance for terrorism and 100 per cent committment towards development. (ANI)

Tamil Nadu president Annamalai

Annamalai Hints At Expansion Of NDA In TN

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Tamil Nadu president Annamalai On Thursday hinted at the possibility of expansion of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Tamil Nadu by saying that an alliance is a “work in progress”.

“Any alliance is a work in progress. Closer to the elections you will see a different formation. We are happy that we have a fantastic relationship with all (constituent) parties (of NDA). The constituents of NDA are very clear that there is no change per se. We have another 7 months to go and a lot of things may change…,” he told reporters here after holding a meeting with office bearers and district presidents from the BJP.

Annamalai also said that the 2024 Lok Sabha poll is for electing Narendra Modi Prime Minister of the Country for the third time.

“This will be reflected in Tamil Nadu too. After the election, you will see all the 39 MPs from here supporting Prime Minister Modi,” Annamalai said.

When asked about the allegation against him by the AIADMK leaders when they snapped the alliance with the BJP, he said that he would not respond to the specific charges, adding that which side people of the state are on will be known after the 2024 election.

AIADMK had exited the NDA alliance after it accused the state BJP leaders of belittling its icons such as former Chief Ministers C N Annadurai and J Jayalalithaa.

Annamalai’s comments about these leaders irked the AIADMK leaders.

According to sources, Annamalai had a discussion with the BJP high command in Delhi on the AIADMK alliance. In Thursday’s meeting, it was expected that Annamalai would share his views and those of the BJP’s central leaders with the office bearers.

AIADMK general secretary Edappadi Palaniswami on Wednesday clarified that there was no pressure from anyone to leave the BJP-led NDA in the State.

“We are strong with our decision to break ties with the BJP. No one put any pressure on us to take this decision. A few incidents hurt our cadres,” Edappadi Palaniswami said while speaking to reporters in Salem.

Palaniswami further said, “From Prime Minister Modi, Union Minister Amit Shah and BJP President J P Nadda, no one put any pressure on us and we decided to break the ties with BJP respecting our cadres voice.” (ANI)
