Delhiites will get a respite from the icy grip of winter as dense fog and cold wave, holding sway on Delhi-NCR and parts of north India, will abate from upcoming Tuesday, January 10, IMD said on Sunday.

“Tonight there will be a cold to severe cold wave over Delhi and the temperature will be around 3-4 degrees, some stations may record it as 2 degrees but from January 10 there will be no dense fog, no cold wave, maybe isolated fog will prevail but the cold wave will go,” India Meteorological Department senior scientist RK Jenamani told ANI.
Talking of the record-breaking biting cold, prevailing in Delhi-NCR, the Met scientist said, “Safdarjung temperature recorded the lowest temperature at 1.9 degrees Celcius, which is the lowest of the season. A severe cold wave is still prevailing in most places of Delhi, and it is recording very low temperatures for the last four days in the area.”

“Yesterday night, the dense fog also intensified in Delhi. At IGI airport severe fog remained from 2:30 am to 11:30 am, making it the longest fog of the season,” he said.

Taking note of other parts of India, Jenamani said, “the temperature marginally improved in Rajasthan, Punjab by 1-2 degrees Celsius but cold wave still remains.”

However, the IMD scientist underlined that Rajasthan’s Churu reached sub-zero temperature and settled at minus 0.5 degrees Celsius.

“North Madhya Pradesh’s Nowgong recorded 1 degree Celsius and is under the grip of severe cold wave. Uttar Pradesh witnessed severe cold waves but only in isolated places,” Jenamani said.

Kamal Nath about BJP Netas

I’ve Seen Obscene CDs With BJP Netas In Them: Kamal Nath

Former Chief Minister and PCC chief Kamal Nath on Thursday weighed in on the ongoing ‘obscene CDs’ controversy, saying he has also seen the CDs and they feature BJP leaders.

Nath made the remark while speaking to the media persons in Madhya Pradesh’s Satna district on Thursday.

Nath said, “I have seen the CDs. I was the chief minister at the time. I do not do this type of politics. At that time I didn’t see the need for any further investigation. I did not want the name of Madhya Pradesh to be defamed, which is why the matter was not brought to the fore. There are only BJP people on the CDs. There should be an investigation into these CDs. The truth should come out.”

Earlier, on Tuesday, veteran Congress Leader and Leader of Opposition Govind Singh said, “We have various obscene CDs of BJP ministers, MLAs, leaders and RSS volunteers. But raising allegations like this is not in our culture.”

Singh on Wednesday also invited BJP state president VD Sharma at his residence to see the ‘obscene’ CDs of BJP leaders, ministers, and MLAs. Singh said, “When Sharma comes to my residence, I will welcome him with a garland and then show him the CDs. I will not show the CDs publicly. I have many of them.”

Reacting to Singh’s sensational claim on the ‘obscene’ CDs, the BJP state president said, “Such comments do not behoove political leaders. It isn’t good to question one’s character through allegations not supported by evidence. He is an experienced leader holding a responsible party post. Such reckless remarks don’t suit him.”

“The BJP never resorts to such politics. I wish to reiterate that if he is a responsible leader, he should go public with whatever he has,” Sharma added.

Nath also targeted Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, saying, “It seems he can’t digest his food unless he does two things — criticize Kamal Nath and lie.”

On the absence of Veteran Congress leader of Vindhya region, Ajay Singh Rahul, at the press conference, Nath said, “I have spoken to Ajay Singh and will keep talking to him. There is no division or dispute in the party.” (ANI)

MP Chouhan To Distribute Plots

MP: Chouhan To Distribute Plots Worth Rs 120 Cr To Poor

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Tuesday said he would provide plots to poor families who do not have a place to live, free of cost, under the Mukhyamantri Bhu-Awasiya Adhikar Yojana (Chief Minister Land Residential Rights Scheme).

Plots worth Rs 120 crore will be distributed to 10,500 beneficiary families in Madhya Pradesh’s Tikamgarh district on Wednesday.
CM Chouhan made the announcement during his address at the cabinet meeting in the state capital Bhopal on Tuesday.

Chouhan said, “During my visits to Tikamgarh for an election campaign, some residents of a village had stopped me to narrate their problems. They said about 50 to 60 people are forced to live in a small houses as there is no place to sleep. The reason for the problem is that the family has expanded but the place of residence has remained the same. Due to poverty, extended families do not even have plots of their own and, hence, cannot get the benefit of the housing scheme.”

“Therefore, I had thought of implementing a scheme through which free plots will be provided to poor families, who do not have a place to live. They will be able to build their own houses on these plots and will also be able to take advantage of other government schemes,” he added.

Chouhan added, “Under the scheme, the land will be leased in the name of the husband and wife. They will not have to pay any premium and will get the plots completely free of cost. Along with the plot, they will also get the benefits of other schemes such as Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna (PMAY). The general size of the plot will be 600 sq feet. The scheme will be extended to other districts as well.” (ANI)

Love-Jihad MP Cong Leader

Love-Jihad Is Fake, It Never Existed: MP Cong Leader

Veteran Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly Govind Singh targeted Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan over his remarks on ‘Love-Jihad’.

Singh told ANI on Tuesday said, “The government speaks nothing but lies. Love-jihad is totally fake. The Constitution of India gives an absolute right to a person from any religion to have a relationship or marry anyone irrespective of faith. It is a conspiracy to change the Constitution. Love-Jihad never existed.”
The Opposition leader was reacting to remarks made by CM Chouhan at an event in Indore on Sunday where he said the state government will not tolerate ‘Love Jihad’ at any cost and if required, it will bring in stricter laws against it.

“Some people from other religions marry the daughter of a tribal family just to buy land. This is not love, it is ‘jihad’ in the name of love, and I will not allow this game of ‘love jihad’ in Madhya Pradesh at any cost,” Chouhan said.

Reacting to Congress leader Singh’s statement, BJP state general secretary Bhagwandas Sabnani said no responsible leader should make such ‘irresponsible statements’ in the quest for political appeasement.

“He (Govind Singh) or the people around him have never experienced the pain (of Love-Jihad). Congress must have decided that conversion has to be promoted,” Sabnani added. (ANI)
